Car Talk / Re: InnosonMotors CEO Drives Foreign SUVs But Wants Us To Buy His Cars by ogmaskman: 3:06pm On Jan 24, 2016
whirlwind7:
Well, that he owns Innoson doesn't mean he should dump his other cars now, does it?

Someone from Innoson had replied that the man drives the Landmark SUV. Actually, it will cost him very little to drive and maintain any brand of Innoson vehicles because servicing and spare parts replacement would be very easy for him. He is the one person with the most confidence to use this brand, due to this convenience. That's simple logic.

Dild you expect ALL the vehicles he drives to line up for your inspection because you visited his home?

He should use his vehicles 100%. what is the moral justification for the cry for Nigerians to patronize our local industries if the industry practioners themselves are seen using the same products that they are in competition with.
He is the first ambassador of his company so he must not be seen close to anything else. Hear this, if a sportswear company like adiddas or puma endorses a sports person they expect he/she wears only their products. In the same vein , you do not expect the MD's of the sports company to be seen close to any other brand talkless of using it. For using the range and Toyota jeep, I am highly disappointed. I am speechless.

omenka:
Like I said earlier today, there is something critically wrong with the mental health of some Nigerians.

These guys whom the government is after shared not even a penny to these people that have sworn to defend them with all their might. To them, Buhari's success in anything at all is taboo and must be viciously fought against. Their attitude is just like that of a mother in a polio ravaged country fighting hard to ensure her child is not immunised against the virus- it is just incomprehensible.

The anti corruption drive has been receiving accolades from well meaning Nigerians and international observers and that gives them migraines. People their social/economic class stand to benefit the most from any success recorded in the fight against corruption, yet they've sworn over their dead bodies that no progress would be made.

Buhari might as well come in, damn all established perceptions about his persona, just as Jonathan didn't give a damn, and loot the country dry like his predecessors and no one would hold him to account- yet he's chosen this path, and some still don't seem satisfied.

When Richard Quest, a mere reporter, made a statement earlier about NOI, it was celebrated for 7 pages running, it was no "propaganda". Now, one of the world's most powerful people has said his and it has suddenly become "propaganda"!

Sometimes I feel really disgusted sharing the same country with these people. I feel people with this mindset can only be found in Nigeria.

Festus Keyamo called them EKPA. In urhobo language an EKPA is someone whose stupidity is irredeemable.

I wonder how any sane human will attempt to defend the same pple who took food away from their tables. In saner climes, thieves do not only apologise to the pple but they are happy to face the consequences of their actions. But here what we have are pple shouting witch hunt. Pathetic!

Inasmuch as my wish and the wish of every well meaning Nigerian is for sanity to be restored to our governmental and social systems and therefore, support the corruption fight of the president.

We know that 95% of our politicians are corrupt and wish that all of them face the full wrath of the law

But however, it seems politicians in APC all belong to the remaining 5% undecided

We want the president to show the same ruthlessness in probing even top hierarchy of his party undecided

By so doing, even Olisah Metuh will not bother to appeal his conviction
Tompolo will submit himself to the nearest police station
And others will not see reasons to complain too

As things stand, the President is still surrounded by theives

Charity as the say, begins at home

You have spoken well, but the truth is buhari is surrounded by persons who mostly played at state level. It is the duty of the respective state's to take up their case. There must be cooperation from the affected states for it to fly. If buhari is talking and charging federal alleged looters to court, I see no reason why the state's cannot do same.

More than 2/3rd of Omoku and Ahoada have been depopulated. The theory of thou shalt not build a house in your village holds true in these places. These cultists who have political backings are just killing, raping and parading large areas of land. The media is not reporting it till we will wake up and find that maybe whole LGAs have been abandoned to a now dreaded terrorist group.

We have to look inwards and by the way I am a political so its not a PDP or APC thing.

Tnk you brother. A lot of the guys commenting here are oblivious of happening in rivers state. It is a shame that wike sees nothing good in the military raids. Since the inception of this govt especially, rivers state has become a den for armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists, political thugs and other evil vices. I live in abuloma area of rivers, I tell u, there's no week at least 1person is not kidnapped in abuloma.
Wike should cut us some slack pls. Everything cannot be politicise. A stitch in time saves nine they say. Thank god for the military intervention so far, some level of normalcy have returned to rivers lately.

ronald4ever:

I think he's just stating the benefits of marrying a Nigerian, not the reason he got attracted to her and married her. Both aren't same.

Except, people now get attracted to people and fall in love with them based on their country of origin then I'd say I'm learning that for the first time and I daresay is a wrong reason to fall in love.

Unfortunately, Mr Lynch dis not give us room to assume in his write up.
In his words, he said he married her for the benefits. Benefits here can also be seen as reasons. . He said he enjoys Nigerian delicacies which for me, is more of a reason than a benefit. He has benefited thru coaching and mentoring of the wife, but befor then he had reasons to marry a Nigerian.

Note too that love grows. Pple marry for many reasons. For example, I met a medical doctor who told me she will like to get married to an American white male. Her reason? "I like their simple nature unlike others". The gentleman in question must have tasted our delicacies and had cause (reasons) to marry an African (Nigerian). It doesn't matter which comes first between love and reason. Assuming you are igbo from ngwa, You can say u want to marry an igbo girl from ur area (for whatever reason), befor you ignite ur search engine to locate ur spec. sometimes reason prevail befor love.

that very day, the whole of Olu Abasanju rd was locked down as I was also caught up in the mix of the whole mess where I witness this unsavory battle albeit from afar.
never again will Rivers state be ruled by leaders that encourage gangasterism and cultism sad [/b]

Tnx for this comment. I was going to mention abacha and his relationship with wike when I saw this. The jubilation that greeted abacha's death was a testament of his brutality.

Ignorance is really a disease

To Make it clear to those who don't know what transpired:

The Money in question was paid for the acquisition of the temporary site and structures on it which was built personally by Tompolo. And also for the virgin land of the permanent site which is different from the temporary site. The temporary site contains multi billion naira structures that are fully equipped to the fullest.

Michael Jonny is not speaking for the community, he is an APC chieftain trying to get favour from the present administration.

Why should 12B be spent on a temporary site when there is a permanent site. The money and effort should have been channelled to the permanent site directly.

ahaika23:
The embarrassing loss of the APC in the just concluded Governorship election in Bayelsa state is not only a pain to the party but a very clear signal that they have no place in the South South region of the Delta. Despite all the violence, intimidation, killings and destruction , putting all police and military force behind their quest, however all of their efforts fell apart like a pack of cards made to stand on their on only to be faced by the touch of resistance. No wonder for over 48 hours, INEC was still looking for its voice as the name already sent to it was not the wish of the people. Oh how sad the children of change got that up till this moment their chief law breaker is yet to come to terms with the incident let alone send a congratulatory message to the winner as his predecessor always did furthermore emphasizing the fact that the change of cloth from khaki to agbada does not in any way change a dictator and an unrepentant one for that matter. It is too late, the people do not need his congratulatory message, neither that of the mastermind of the violence which as left dead the people whom they wanted to Govern.

This clear signal that the APC is a mirage in states below the belt remains fact and the otherwise can only be wished for by the few amazons at nooks and crannies of the transport waterways. This is the one reason why any investment in trying to unseat any PDP government in the region would end the way Lai Mohammed's abuses did when he was reminded that 'he thought he was still an opposition spokesman that goes around abusing the government even when he's been made a minister to inform the people but rather than that is abusing them for asking questions'; that was the last time Lai spewed his abusive trash. Right now, what is left for Silva is jostling for any available political appointment but of course he should be grateful to Buhari for wiping his sins of corruption away and nailing it to his political career.

We shall watch as the non-democratic party do all they can to unseat the other PDP governors in the region. As they have failed woefully in Bayelsa, your guess is as good as mine!

The only thing I have to tell you is that if the federal govt wanted to rig the elections a winner would have emerged a long time ago. It wasn't a fluke that inec allowed the same commissioner who oversaw the April polls to continue.
The best candidate won. Period.

you see my friend, one fundamental flaw in that particular supreme court judgement is the fact that the so called "National security threat" is subject to the interpretation of the very executive arm of government that is doing the accusing. This is a very dangerous precedent and should be discouraged. The executive should never have the final say on what constitutes a genuine "national security threat" because it could be subjected to very serious abuse

I hear pple say buhari and the dss flouted court orders but looking at the bolded, I think they never did.
