A Brazilian singer has admitted she was sent to hospital to be treated for trapped gas because she didn’t want to fart in front of her boyfriend.

Viviane de Queiroz Pereira, who is also known as Pocah, shared snaps from her medical room with millions of online followers on Instagram.

"I woke up at 5.30am with severe stomach pains and ended up in the hospital," the 27-year-old explained.

"But that's it, guys. I'm now fine. Just an accumulation of trapped farts."

The musician, who kicked off her career in 2012 as MC Pocahontas, went on to encourage her fans to pass wind freely.

She said: “Girls, don't be ashamed to fart in front of your guy…

"What's really embarrassing is not letting your guy sleep because you're in discomfort, going to hospital with your guy, and the diagnosis being trapped farts."

Pocah, who was born in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro and also has heritage from Africa and Portugal, originally ignored the stomach pains because of advice from a TikTok thread.

But after the ordeal, she says she’ll be releasing gas freely.

According to medics, holding in farts can be dangerous and lead to painful symptoms.

NHS worker Dr Faraz explained on TikTok that the average person farts 20 times every day.

He said: “Don’t hold in your farts. Gas forms naturally in your stomach as a waste product of digestion.

"It gets mixed with air that you swallow when you eat and drink.”

Explaining that holding it in can lead to heartburn and bloating, the medic warned the gas might even come out another way.

“It could come out as a smelly burp or make your breath stink,” he added. “Imagine doing a burp that smells like a fart.”

I was part of NPOWER 2017 set that's batch B enroll in under Nteach before our program terminatd.
Since then I used the savings I had to buy a fairly used daylong machine.
So after the program I used that to feed the family 3 months back we both discussed about how we will be able to upgrade or our lives Abit to earn more cash to sustain the family
so we both agreed to sell the bike then borrowed money and buy Keke napep.
Since npower stop paying I was not really enable to borrow from the bank but before I sold my bike.
her friend promised to borrow us 200k so that at least we can get fairly used Keke for 320 since the new one is costly but after selling my bike her friend refused to assist us saying that the money she could have borrow us was used for another purpose.
Although I was a bit disappointed but didn't complain now my wife feels guilty because my life totally changed my things spoiled and I could afford the Keke since our plan didn't work out and the money on saved from the bike I sold wasn't enough anymore to get me another bike.
How do I get her to stop blaming herself? I believe God has reasons for such thing happening to me. How do I feed them till I buy one?
Major problem is family and friends see her as a woman that brought me down but I clearly understood that her intention was to support but it failed so I myself consider it as a blessing from God.

In abuja filling stations still sell at 165 per litre except NNPC that dispenses at 162 per litre.

So few days ago I went to Maraba(in Nasarawa state)a satellite town close to abuja,I saw a filling station selling and there was no queue.
Out of curiosity I drove in,only to discover the were selling 250 per litre.
