PoliticsBoko Haram Formed In Ghana? by OKDnigeria(op): 1:11pm On Dec 24, 2014
It will seem that the reign of terror is spreading its tentacles across the World as Ghana has recorded its first case of Islamic extremism.
Credible Information gathered by Ghana’s Daily Heritage newspaper indicates that the Ghana police command has arrested three suspected Islamic extremists who formed a Boko Haram group at Akim Ofoase in the Eastern region of the West African country.

The suspects have reportedly been engaged in torturing Muslim women who defy their orders.
The suspects are Abdullah Sulemana a.k.a taller, 30, Bukari Musa, 28, and Danjima Sheriff, 17. Other members of the group who are at large, are believed to be hiding in Nima, a suburb of Accra.
The suspects were seen in a minute and half video tape torturing and lashing female Muslims at Akim Ofoase Zongo who defied their orders banning Muslims in the community from transacting business or mingling with Christians in the area.

Preliminary investigations conducted indicate that the replica group of Boko Haram formed in the Akim Ofoase Zongo community was approved by the Muslim leadership in the Zongo community with the aim of running a pure Islamic community.
One of the victims, Lad Muhammed, who received over 100 lashes at her back by members of the group as punishment for buying food from a Christian; said each member of the group gave her 30 lashes at the back for defying their order.
Confirming the story, the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Yaw Nketia Yeboah explained that the police upon receiving a tip off from the media, launched investigations into the matter and laid surveillance in the Zongo Community at Akyem Ofoase together with the Akyem Oda Police Command, which led to the arrest of the three members of the group.

It is not known whether the group has any ties with the popular Boko Haram sect in Nigeria.
Boko Haram is a militant Islamist movement based in northeast Nigeria. The group has killed more than 5,000 civilians between July 2009 and June 2014, including at least 2,000 in the first half of 2014, in attacks occurring mainly in northeast, north-central and central states of Nigeria.

PoliticsBuhari Organization Backs Mutiny; Soldiers Are Free To Protest - Amaechi by OKDnigeria(op): 12:25pm On Dec 24, 2014
In what could be deemed a significant deviation from the Nigerian Armed Forces’ doctrine, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organisation on Tuesday endorsed the incidents of mutiny by soldiers and officers of the all-volunteer Nigerian Army, who had sworn to defend Nigeria’s territorial integrity, but refused to fight when they were sent to combat terrorism in the North-east.

Enunciating the position of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, whose candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, is a retired army major-general, former military head of state and must be conversant with the Nigerian Armed Forces Act, its Director-General (DG) and Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, said the soldiers sentenced to death by the Nigerian military authorities were within their rights to protest.
Amaechi made the statement, while briefing newsmen in Lagos on the plans and modalities of how as the DG for the Buhari campaign, his team, whose members would be announced soon, will work for the victory of the APC in next year’s presidential election.
However, it was not clear if the pronouncement by the APC campaign organisation was a new defence policy plank, which it intends to pursue should Buhari win the presidential election, or realpolitiks, which will be a dangerous dimension of bringing the Nigerian Armed Forces into the 2015 election.
According to Amaechi, “The challenge of the Nigerian military is not funding but corruption. Now they want to kill some 50 officers for their own failure to equip them properly to fight terrorism. The soldiers have the right to protest for the federal government’s failure to fully equip them.”
He said Buhari as president will adequately deal with the Boko Haram menace. “I hope that Nigerians will hear the message. The message is simple. Buhari is a strong leader who chased away the Maitatsine terror group. In the same manner, he will chase away Boko Haram.

“Borno was attacked once by Chadian rebels and Buhari then chased them away, even into the border of Chad. He will do that again with the Boko Haram sect. The issue of Boko Haram is not religious but poverty is what will make people go and register with any terrorist group.”
When asked why the APC was waiting for when they get into power to deal with the issue of Boko Haram, Amaechi said: “If we had the power to stop the insurgency we would have done that to salvage the three North-east states presently under emergency rule.”

Contrary to Amaechi’s assertion, the three North-east states are no longer under emergency rule as it expired last month.
According to him, “State governors do not have the power to end the insurgency but the federal government does. The issue of security is in the exclusive list. APC as it stands cannot do anything to end the insurgency because we are not in power.”

PoliticsArewa Group Raises Alarm Over Plot To Short-change The North In APC by OKDnigeria(op): 10:21pm On Dec 21, 2014
A socio-cultural group, Arewa Youth
Integrity Forum has raised the alarm over
plans by a cabal within the All
Progressives Congress to short-change
the northern geo-political zone for another
8years by planting General Muhammadu
Buhari who has been considered weak and
running out of age to pilot the affairs of the
nation. The group alleged that the
calculation is to pave way for Pastor
Osibanjo who is much younger, active and
belongs to the cabal to take over power
thereby making it possible for power to
return to the South again for another eight
years.

Coordinator of the group, Mallam Hamid
Usman in a media chat in Abuja yesterday
frowned at the new plot as a-fallout of
series of meetings between a former
President and some powerful forces in the
APC and has already started playing it out
to demonstrate their disdain for the north
and its people.

Stressing further, Usman insisted that it
has become very obvious that those who
abandoned very energetic young aspirants
like Kwankwaso and Nda Isaiah or even a
more connected Atiku Abubakar are out to
repeat the wicked selection of an ailing
Governor in 2007 knowing full well that
age and health are very important in the
discharge of national duties.

According to Usman, “Buhari has been
surrounded by hawks and caged into
dungeon that nothing good will come back
to the north in the next eight years owing
to recent activities in the APC, manifesting
that the man cannot call the shots by
himself if elected as President.”
“In the first place they went for a candidate
who claimed that he couldn’t afford his
nomination form yet he is still their choice
because he has no stamina of himself
which is a better deal to finance him to
power and easily push him out barely 6
months into the tenure which is worse
than what happened to Yar’Adua,” he
added.

Watch Jonathan's campaign speeches; he talked freely, not reading prepared speeches. Shows a man who knows and has mastered what he wants to do.

Mohammadu Buhari’s record as a military head of state will perpetually render him unelectable because Nigerians will never desire a repeat of such administration. – Mallam Nasir el-Rufai.
“While it is true that neither youth nor age supplies wisdom on their own, it makes sense to ask those who have been recurring decimals in our country’s sorry history to leave the stage. I’m amazed that General Buhari cannot debate this matter without scurrying to the gutter, making claims that are baseless and unsupported by any facts,” said Mr. El-Rufai, describing Mr. Buhari’s leadership style as parochial and insensitive to Nigeria’s diverse background.

I agree it sends across the wrong message for an anti-corruption crusader to be hobnobbing with the creme de la creme of corruption but you also have to agree no court of competent jurisdiction has convicted any of the heavyweights of the APC of corruption.that's not to say they aren't corrupt but in the eye of the law and in the face of justice, buhari is hobnobbing with innocent men and am certain that's how he rationalises it.this is a free country which allows you as an individual to petition any corrupt individual to the anti-corruption agencies.feel free to do when you have irrefutable evidence[/quote]But when APC says GEJ & his cabinet are corrupt u quickly agree. pls tell me, which court has convicted GEJ or any member of his cabinet?

D truth is dat Buhari's anticorruptn mantra is a farce. Amaechi use rivers state's money to sponsor his campaign, he did not see it as corruption. Tinubu, who is his godfather & who nominated his running mate, is corruption personified, and Buhari has no problem wit dat. Buhari cannot change Nigeria, he won't be president anyway.

PoliticsRe: Why Does Buhari Keep Running With Pastors? by OKDnigeria: 3:31pm On Dec 17, 2014
well I won't blame Buhari dis time around. dat candidate was imposed on him by Tinubu. Osibanjo was never Buhari's choice.

But if he can't choose his running mate, what will he be able to do if he ever becomes president. Tinubu dictates everything in APC.
PDP was right, a vote for Buhari is a vote for Tinubu.

The National President of a Fulani socio-cultural

total support for the re-election of President

The statement described the publication as

“Miyetti Allah’s national headquarters is not aware

PoliticsAftermath Of NASS Fracas: Sambo Summons IG by OKDnigeria(op): 3:34pm On Nov 21, 2014
Vice President Namadi Sambo on Friday
summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Mr.
Suleiman Abba, to the Presidential Villa, Abuja
over the Thursday invasion of the National
Assembly by policemen.
A fracas broke out at the National Assembly while
security operatives were preventing the Speaker,
Aminu Tambuwal, and some of his loyalists from
entering the premises.
Sambo was said to have summoned Abba to
explain the role of his men in the fracas after he
(Sambo) had listened to the version of the
incident as narrated by the principal officers of the
House of Representatives elected on the platform
of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The police boss was accompanied to the meeting
with the Vice President by some senior police
officers.
When State House correspondents asked him after
the meeting if the order to invade the National
Assembly came from him, he said ongoing
investigation would reveal the roles played by
each person in the fracas.
“Who did what and who didn’t do what will be
disclosed to you later. You know we work with
investigations, investigations are going on and the
press officer will address you,” he simply said as
he made his way out of the Vice President’s wing
of the Presidential Villa.
When further asked if he was insinuating that he
was not aware of the operation before the fracas
broke out, Abba insisted, “I still repeat: who did
what, who didn’t do what, you will hear later. It is
subject to investigations. We just don’t talk
anyhow.”
As he made his way to his car, the police boss
managed to grant another short interview in
Hausa, claiming that he had never seen the
actions displayed by some lawmakers on
Thursday anywhere in the world.
He alleged that while somebody was pushing a
policeman from a car, another person was seen
removing roadblocks mounted by the police.
“Somebody was removing road blocks mounted
by police. We have never seen this kind of thing
in the whole world. So, we will talk to you later.
Just wait, our findings will reveal,” he added.
Sambo had on Thursday evening met with PDP
principal officers in the House of Representatives
because President Goodluck Jonathan had
travelled to London to attend a meeting of
Nigeria’s Honorary International Investment
Council.
The lawmakers were led to the meeting by the
Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha.
Other lawmakers in the delegation were the House
Leader, Mulikat Adeola-Akande; the Deputy House
Leader, Leo Ogor; and the Chief Whip, Ishaku
Bawa.
