Tunjman: The National theatre, Lagos should also be in this category...it's the only building with unusual architecture in Nigeria.
Not only that, the Defence HQ aka the ship house in Abuja is also remarkable. It looks like a gigantic ship, wish I have a picture.
Politics / Re: See Transcorp Hilton Food Invoice For Ms. Arunmah Oteh by Oluchia(f): 9:31am On Mar 21, 2012
Nigerians!!! We all need to get rid of our bitterness. Is the probe supposed to be on the Capital Market or on how much she spent on a meal in Transcorp? Poverty has realy eaten deep in us that we cannot reason objectively once its money issue and the NAS knows this. That is why they're using this whole saga to incite Nigerians and divert their attentions from the real issues on ground. Nairaland is evident of that fact.
Politics / Re: Hausa, Yoruba Traders’ Ejection Not Ethnic – Anambra by Oluchia(f): 7:29am On Jan 27, 2012
What is wrong wth nigerians and nlanders?? They turn everything to a tribal war. Like someone rightly said above, if u av bn to that bridge head market, u'll even wonder why it took d govt too long to make this decision. That place is a complete eyesore even worse than oshodi b4 fashiola sanitized it. The worse part of it is that it is located at the niger bridge head which is the main entrance to the SS/SE states. So how anybody would not want that place sanitized and developd beats my imagination. If d govt has made adequate provision for an alternative place, they should move jor and stop complaining. The onitsha main market is a well organized market and there are hausa and yoruba traders there as well. We dont hear that d govt is pursuing anybody there, so why cry foul over this? For those of u saying ibos shld be cleard from alaba, alaba is an organized mkt and Fashola is not a fool. So u guys should just take a chill pill.
Religion / Re: DIVINE PROPHECIES AT GOD CARDINALS MINISTRY by Oluchia(f): 1:55pm On Dec 23, 2011
Nigerians!!!!! Na wa o! shocked

We dont even understand what prophecy means? Why cant we christians concentrate on living a christ-like life and effecting a positive change in our world instead of looking for prophecies concerning our future. Why would you even want to concern yourself about what's happening in your life and what the future holds for you when as a christian, your life and your future are secured in God's hands? It simply means we do not have faith and trust in GOD! And my bible tells me that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

I tire for my people!!
Religion / Re: Evangelism In Public Buses Is Madness by Oluchia(f): 11:58am On Nov 21, 2011
I am realy disappointed wth some of the comments from so cald xtians here. The kind of abusive words that come out from their mouth makes one wonder if they realy understand what the title 'Christian' means. And we wonder why the World doesnt take us serious. True, we'r commissioned to spread the gospel, but not at the expense or discomfort of others. Honestly if i were to be a non christian, i doubt if preaching in a bus will make an impact on me. Same goes for use of loud speakers in residential areas. It doesnt matter whether its a church, mosque or club, It constitute public nuisance and its wrong. I remember a day i spent a night in my aunt's house, i didnt sleep a wink d whole night simply because the church opposite had an all night vigil. Nothing wrong with doing a vigil, but must it be with d megaphone in full blast all thru d night with their drums being played?? What happend to 'praying in secret so ur heavenly father will reward u openly'? That is the height of insensitivity IMO. The residents are people who will av to go to work d following day probably leave their homes as early as 6am. And they will join a bus only to meet part2 of the disturbance in the person of a preacher or drug seller. Pls lets condemn what is wrong and stop being sentimental. We should apply wisdom and be moderate in all things. Christianity is a way of life and ur lifestyle is d 1st and greatest tool of evangelism.

Siena:

For those that are short-sighted, yet choose not to wear their glasses or corrective lenses, do you guys drive? And do you drive without your glasses? Because if you're short-sighted, you definitely shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car without 20/20 vision!
Definitely not! Cant imagine driving without my glasses. That will be a short cut to hell! When am ready to drive, i sure will go get a replacement.
Fashion / Re: Anyone For Glasses? by Oluchia(f): 5:12pm On Nov 01, 2011
Bn wearing mine for over 15 yrs now. Am shortsighted and also felt the initial excitment of seeing so clearly. But got tired of the damn thing over time. Forgot them in my parents home when i travelld last yr and never botherd getting a replacement. I know i still need them, but for now let me enjoy the freedom.
Family / Re: Help! Mine Jobless 18 Years Old Brother Just Bought A Car Worth 5million Naira by Oluchia(f): 7:51pm On Oct 28, 2011
I weep for Nigeria! This country is finished. It is now confirmed, 80% of nigerians are criminals and most of them are on Nairaland. People, be careful o! Dont give out ur personal info on this site else u fall their victim.
Family / Re: Help! Mine Jobless 18 Years Old Brother Just Bought A Car Worth 5million Naira by Oluchia(f): 11:05am On Oct 28, 2011
Freiburger:

Can't you sense jealousy from the poster? He even went that far saying his younger brother has taken over his place as the breadwinner. And besides, does the fact that your 23yr old brother is younger than you automatically implies he can never make it before you?
I don't support making money from dubious activities, but the notion that it is a taboo when a young man makes money is wrong. The young man must have explained the source of his sudden wealth to his parents and decided to put the jealous brother out of the game.
Abeg dont misquote me o. Where in my post did I say a young man cannot make money or that a younger sibling cannot be richer than d elderly ones? My younger sister earns more than I do and hence is richer but she's doing a legitimate job. My concern is d SOURCE OF WEALTH! And if the poster is convinced his wealth is ill gotten(which is obvious even to a blind man from the OP's write up), he has every reason to be concerned and instead of giving him d advice he asked for, u resort to calling him jealous. And if u believe that idea of urs that his parents are aware of the brother's source of income and still keep it away from OP, then u'll believe anything. @OP, like someone said ur parents are ur best bet. He may not want to listen to u, but if u can talk to ur parents and let them know d dangers involved and convince them, they will in turn talk to him.
Family / Re: Help! Mine Jobless 18 Years Old Brother Just Bought A Car Worth 5million Naira by Oluchia(f): 9:26am On Oct 28, 2011
What kind of human beings do we av in this country?? OP is concernd about his 18 yr old brother who is obviously involvd in some shady business, and some people are here saying poster is jealous. I cant believe this! This boy is 18 for crying out loud and a school cert holder for that matter! If my 23yr old brother who is a graduate but an applicant suddenly starts throwing money around without any tangible and legal source of income, i will be concerned talkless of an 18yr. What sort of biz is he into that he cant be transparent about if it is legal? This is why this country will remain where it is. Tomorrow we'll be blaming corrupt politicians and the likes of them but here we are, busy calling OP jealous. Nonsense.

Career / Re: Airtel Did Not Sack Workers. Their Side Of The Story ! by Oluchia(f): 5:12am On Oct 08, 2011
Besides MTN has a medical scheme 4 their contract staff, they av off days and as at 2008, they were entitled to 12 days annual leave. Dont know if that has bn increasd now. Like someone rightly pointed out, in as much as Airtel are not their direct employers, they should be involved and concernd wth their welfare. Because whether they like it or not, they work for Airtel. It is Airtel that they represent to the customers. If a call center agent attends well to a customer, the credit goes to Airtel. If he's rude to a customer, it is Airtel that will suffer d negative image and publicity. So when it comes to customer rep job, a company cannot afford to be indifferent to the welfare of the staff.

sholatech:

The truth is very bitter, Apparently they dont know that MTN also outsourced their call centre operations to cnssl and all the agents are paid less than 40,000 naira a month. and they are not less than 5,000 of those agents nationwide!

This is not true. As at 2008 when i worked wth Mtn as a call center agent on contract, the salary was 50k. Over d years its bn reviewd and  is now 90k. I still av friends who work there so i know.

I will first like to point out that I am aware that some men have issues regarding domestic violence. I have never understood them but acknowledge that they exist. If a man needs to discipline his woman it should be limited to spanking her at most. Except she is trying to kill him he should never punch her.

I cant believe some men actually think this way. angry Spanking your wife? As your slave or Child
Women, ah , we don suffer. May God not let us meet men like you.

@Mutter
Was speechless after reading what u went thru. Thank God for giving u the courage to come out when u did.

@ Poster
Please tell your friend to learn from Mutter's xperience and make hay while the sun shines. Life does not have duplicate o. God forbid if anything happens to her, worst case the husband will mourn her for few months and remarry. Life will go on.

I cant wait for the'radical change' to take place, cos am realy tired of the light situation in the country. My area Isheri Berger seems to be the worst of it. Seems like PHCN plays with the switch when it comes to giving light to Isheri.

My own area Isheri Berger, is getting worse. From 6hrs of light in every 24hrs to 6hrs in 48hrs. I've decide not pay NEPA bill again until i see an improvement. Infact am very angry with NEPA or PHCN, whatever they call them. angry
