Nigeria! A country where only the common man suffers. The Nigeria police, army and politicians take one way all the time when there's traffic, and I have never seen anyone arrest them.

Good news

Nigerians only fear Guns

Many Frsc officers have been killed by reckless drivers (hit and run)

If Nigerians were law abiding there will not be need for these officers to carry gun

You see our problem? What is good about the news. Hit and run drivers exit because Nigeria does not have a database. Instead of telling your government to do the right thing by putting the right systems in place, you are here supporting a useless policy. Why can't we learn from other saner and developed countries? Are Nigerian leaders cursed

All I see is the government trying so hard to discredit what happened at the Lekki Tollgate. Only fools will believe these. Abeg Nigerians are wiser now and their nyash has been fully opened. All these are medicine after death.

Lol, if na so the man name dey sweet dem to use, they should have done more to make their marriages work na.

Maybe these women who don't change their surnames after a divorce are still full of regret, perhaps they miss being a Mrs. Somebody.
Being married must have meant a lot to them, yet dem still run comot from inside, women sef..

I mean if you really hated your husband that much and couldn't stand being married to him, that you then had to divorce him, shouldn't his name be irritating to you?
Shouldn't you be doing everything possible to drop it no matter the processes it takes?
An opportunist will always be an opportunist sha.

Do divorced women plan to keep using the ex-husband's surname even after they have remarried another man?
Shey dem no go change am las las?

It's like some of these women don't even have sense at all.

Story!! What's in a name that you guys are so fixated on? I know someone whose surname is Taiye, got married to a man whose surname is also Taiye. So what is there to change if they divorce?? Abeg the major reason is the stress involved in changing names especially on documents.

Mtcheeeew! People will just be quoting what is suitable to their ear. Oga pastor you did not read down to verse 15 and get the whole message . We me help you:

11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

You conveniently ignored the bolder part, so you can play your role as Judge and advocate Abi? The man's first wife left him of her own volition, so he's not bound to her in any way again. That's how you people will go about twisting the bible to your own damnation.

We have to be balanced when we throw around this word of submission.

The woman should submit but what did the Bible tell the man: husband love your wife!!! How? As Christ loved the church and gave himself for her.

Men even have the tougher task, to love there wives to the extent of dieing for her.

Also note it was the man the Bible commanded to love. The woman was never given that injuction

Definitely of love? 1 Corinthians 13 vs 4 gave the characteristics of love which are:

Love is patient, kind, it's not boastful, it's not proud. It's not rude, it's not selfish etc

Which woman will you shower with all those qualities that will not worship and adore you.

Most of you quote bible to soot your own narrative. You won't love a woman as the Bible commanded you to. But you will want her to submit to you.
That's very very very selfish.

kiss kiss kiss Chop kisses! I wish I can give the quote a thousand likes. This is one thing that most men fail to understand; Being the head of the house is not just a title but it comes with a huge responsibility which is love. But mba! they will there talking about respect and submission from the woman forgetting that these come naturally to a woman who has experienced love from her husband.

This question is becoming too tiring. embarassed Nigerians don't read! It has been clarified over and over again that OP has given his wife money several times to buy clothing for the girl which she never did. They dont owe anybody an alternative. You should be asking yourself, now that okada and napep is banned, what alternative do you have for yourself? [/quote

It's the responsibility of the government to provide more good road networks, better and more efficient transport systems. If all these were available, traffic will reduce, life will be easier for the common man and there won't be need for Okada. So yes they owe us an alternative.

wwwkaycom:
Good afternoon nairalanders, I thank you all for your concerns. After reading about half of the comments here, I nearly developed heart attack. As I informed you before, his elder brother moved into action by asking him some sincere questions. He made it plain to his brother that he didn't have the mind of putting me into trouble and that he'll start paying the loan back as from tomorrow Monday 27th January, 2020. He later called to tell me that he he will start paying the loan back tomorrow and apologized for all the stress he has taken me through. Meanwhile, I consulted with a friend in bank who is aware of the loan in the bank on Friday and he told me I have no cause to worry because the business was actually accessed very well and that it can pay back even more than 3 million naira loan. He also said that the one year tenure of the loan will start counting as from March 2020 since moratorium ends by February 29, 2020 and that the bank won't take possession of my property until after several warnings if he begin to flout the terms of the loan.
I will update the house tomorrow, my cousin promised to pay back up to 600k tomorrow. I just pray he do, thank you all and God bless.

Good to hear. Please do update us on the payment. I am praying for you and hope he keeps to his words.

When powers are talking, please don't bring Christianity and Islam. The magics you see come from us.

He he he grin cheesy grin. That is exactly what most Christians are yet to understand. I wondered when TB Joshua's picture has become a magic wand. True Christianity does not depend on anybody's picture or image for protection. That is IDOLATORY and there is no difference b/w you and the babalawo worshipers. True Christianity depends on God for protection through prayer, living a holy life and constantly walking in his will.

Please what is all these negativity, insults and doom sayings embarassedThe guy might have made a mistake and may probably lose his house but it's not the end of the world. Y'all are probably going to contribute to his high blood pressure and maybe attempted suicide with all these condemnations and negativity more than the house loss itself. People make mistakes for crying out loud!

@poster; I believe you have a very good heart which was probably why you tried helping your cousin this much. It's quite unfortunate that he took advantage of you. I may not have a piece of advice on how to recover your documents and property but just sieve through the comments IGNORING all the negativities and insults. There are some very good advice there; follow through with them not forgetting prayers. If peradventure nothing worked out; please do not lose hope. It is not the end of the world. Where there is life, there is hope.

So I'm the bad guy here? Is that how you want to play it?

You completely made a rash and judgemental accusation agasint this woman based on your own myopic way of reasoning, and judging from the number of likes you got already, people were buying into your B'S, but no, I'm the terrible person here.

If it turned out that this woman was indeed his step mum, your seemingly harmless 'guess' would have totally destroyed her reputation and the authenticity of her complaints. And yet you know nothing about her, you were just guessing! ! You would have just decided that she was a bad step mum and didn't do her best raising that man because he wasn't hers, when infact you could have been totally and completely wrong.

So maybe next time you feel like making a guess, you could do us all a favour and DON'T! !!
