WebmastersRe: Nigerian Blogs Are Dying by OmniPotens(m): 10:54am On Jul 08, 2008
yawa is right. The peanuts from adsense gets people pissed and they soon get to abandon their blogs which they set up as a business venture. The whole thing is not so easy. You can make a name by fighting to awaken tired bloggers. This in turn awakens the spirit of blogging in Nigeria.
WebmastersRe: Can You Make A Living Online? by OmniPotens(m): 10:46am On Jul 08, 2008
@ Greatguru

If you have been seeing it as a joke, please better stop. It is a real deal. I'm into it alongside my web thing. It doesn't even need you to quit your regular job before you are able to get into it. For me, Information Marketing is what I call, ", The lazy man’s Way of Generating Lifetime, Unlimited, Multiple Streams of Income. Take a trial and see that is works.

dennisfree:
am presently making a living online through google adsense and my hosting businness ( http://www. ). So it is possible .if you want to know how u can make a living online , you can start reading Success Digest Extra Paper. Also attend seminar on their Platform.This is their site http://sdlcnigeria.org/ and http://sadcnigeria.org/ .There is a seminar coming up on 29th of this month so u can check it out,
Dennis has given off a good link. It's a good starting point. You can get into their network at http://www.sen2020.com and see what is happening in there.

I'm working on a website for a company into this as well. I don't have the permission to publish their addy else I would have done that.

People are into it and it is working. Join the chorus man but don't let the wolves in the business lead you astray.
WebmastersRe: The Web Design Process | How Do You Design Your Client Websites ? by OmniPotens(m): 10:05pm On Jul 07, 2008
Your idea ain't bad at all. I think most people out here have similar concepts though not exactly.

For me, after I have heard the requirements from my clients, I pencil down all on paper. I make a search of the chosen or suggested domain name to see if it is still available. Once available, I get it registered. Next, I do a mock of the site on paper to approximate the look. From there, I use Adobe Fireworks to do the design. I then figure out any new things to add or older ones to remove. From the textural outputs on the design, I figure out what the CSS would be like. I use my notepad to start both the CSS and HTML design after which I use Adobe Dreamweaver to complete.

Dreamweaver, Flash, swish and Fireworks keep being inter-changed during the design process. I sometimes make use of CorelDraw to make some graphics too. It works for me.

I try to come up with the basic idea for all the required major pages. From here now, I will be able to ascertain the size of the website then approximate what hosting size and platform to use.

Once I'm done with getting a hosting account, I upload using my FTP client then view to see what my job looks like. At this point, I get some people especially good browsers to first review the site and tell me how they will feel visiting it after which I can seek the concept of other webmasters.

Finally, I integrate the corrections received the finish the other minor pages. Do the final uploading then call on my client to see what he thinks.

@ fizofly

What is your problem man? You should just keep calm and let's see if we can resolve all these issue once and for all. You have said enough. Don't make people start thinking you are a sadist. "Forget about the past- na the future really matter" was the response a Nigerian musician "Faze" gave to "Tuface" and I think it is applicable here. Hang your boot man. The future really matters man!

WebmastersRe: Webdesign Softwares by OmniPotens(m): 9:09pm On Jul 07, 2008
I thought we were already done with this. Notepad, no matter how old it is, no matter how you may understand it, is still the best as far as this is concerned.
WebmastersRe: Done With This Webmasters Section by OmniPotens(m): 7:42pm On Jul 06, 2008
@Afam

Well, I used to remember those all days when I used to feel I was contented with everything happening around me in one way or the other. I would feel like leaving the world but it is then that things which will really make head way in my life starts coming by. If you feel that there is not much to do here on the forum, I must tell you that there are many. Ok, can you follow the leads of yawa-ti-de and start offering tutorials? This way, you steer clear from quarrels and harsh talks. People either come around, learn, ask questions and even make deals with you based on your expertise. Try it out and see how good it thrives.

Cheers!
WebmastersRe: Website Review: Studyinogun.com by OmniPotens(m): 10:13am On Jul 05, 2008
Nice site with good layout.

Make a change of the copyright. If you want to emphasize on the 2006 then you can make it copyright 2006-2008.

Try to advertise the site to more schools so as to get more listings in your Directory of schools.

Nice trial since this is your first attempt.

WebmastersHow Have You Helped Your Society With Your Ict Skills? by OmniPotens(op): 9:47am On Jul 03, 2008
We have been part of ICT for years, months, weeks, days, hours, etc. No matter how small the timing might be, one thing keeps striking my mind. How have you helped the community in which you belong with your IT skill? Does it end up at getting and executing projects, with the back-end as raking in millions into your account? I think this is something we could discuss on to see how much good we have done to help our societies.

How have you helped your society with your ICT skills? A big question I think because not up to half of webmasters and other ICT related field personnels are looking around a thing as this.

@ Afam

Congrats!

@ Posters

Is there is any way we can reduce the quarrellings and harsh words we tell each other here? We can try clean up this forum a bit. I don't think everyday we should keep on with this kind of posts all over the threads. I get tired replying to threads these days because before you had made a post and read another three, someone is already upset and ready to vomit anything at the other person.

Can we make a little change huh

@yawa
nice one here. I love the explanation. Most webmasters ignore this alot though they are really important. Keep it up.

If you can repackage this, you can come up with something like what "professor teaches" has. It will become an Information product of yours and really, a great deal of ______ you understand grin
WebmastersRe: Demo Review, Anyone? by OmniPotens(m): 10:48pm On Jun 30, 2008

Be at your best and don't try to be harsh over any of their decisions. Defend your work so far, give them a hearing, finish the job and cash you pay. cool

WebmastersRe: Let's Learn Something: Website Optimization by OmniPotens(m): 8:22am On Jun 28, 2008

WebmastersRe: Designing A TV Portal by OmniPotens(m): 6:05pm On Jun 27, 2008
Why not post links to sample sites you wish to replicate ideas from since that designed by Tunde doesn't match your test. Better still you can come up with a good concept for your own design then have webmasters out here add to make your task a success.
WebmastersRe: Small Challenge On Html And Css by OmniPotens(m): 5:28pm On Jun 27, 2008
@ yawa

I said I could but for little confusing and complex layouts, little mistakes could occur therein.
WebmastersRe: Small Challenge On Html And Css by OmniPotens(m): 5:11pm On Jun 27, 2008
I will give it a trial but I think easy web will be possible. Just the complex ones is going to be a headache.

Let me give it a trial.

WebmastersRe: Between Functionaly And Beauty - Where Lies The Future Of Web Development? by OmniPotens(m): 3:13pm On Jun 27, 2008
There is just one thing I can understand here- BOSS & SERVANTS.

Some people want to show- off and try to achieve popularity and be regarded as the BOSS or "king of the webmasters" kin but finally end up being controversial and as such become worthless to the eyes of many. Calling them SERVANTS will not even be worth it because they don't even qualify as one. Servants pipe low and learn from their masters,

In fact, let me not just waste time here trying to bring a big argument into this thread. It's not worth it but for the better, all I have to say is that if you have the strength to argue then you go ahead else you make a change of thread.

Just as Gamine said:
Art is about Beauty.

Design is Beauty+Function

I believe this and stand by it.

Functionality or no functionality, whatever your client wants you deliver. You can make suggestions though to help them better appreciate what they want.
WebmastersRe: Website Reviews, Anyone? by OmniPotens(m): 8:37am On Jun 26, 2008
@Afam

Both sites are the same. I suggest the use of such when someone wants to offer free websites to his Affiliates who are to sell his products. You can make even a thousand of such sites just changing the colour and maintaining the same everything. Using it for two different clients as their corporate website doesn't look too good.

This is what I feel and hope it is right.

Anyway, keep the good flag flying!
WebmastersRe: What Is Wrong With Firefox? by OmniPotens(m): 8:13am On Jun 26, 2008
Just as yawa has rightly pointed out, css command and javascripts can do just what is similar to the effect your flash would do for you. Instead of being put to a stop by one or two coding or design errors which have substitutes to getting done, use their alternatives. Guess what, "Don't Believe You Are Stoppable" so start using your alternatives later you can find the solution to this little task.

WebmastersRe: Is It Connection Or Your Job Value That Matters by OmniPotens(m): 9:21pm On Jun 23, 2008
The deal is quite a simple one. Have you heard anything about agreement and percentage?

All you need is to reach an agreement with the person concerned. For whatever work he gets, say your charge which you are sure will satisfy you then he can charge extra for his own pocket. If you want to share the fruit of your labour with him, then you will be loosing. For me, for any job coming through that platform, all I do is to give my bill then whoever got the job can bill extra for his own pocket then if I wish to add to it, it will be the person's gain. Reason is because I stressed to do the whole task and I don't believe I will be working all night and somebody will from nowhere come and sit to enjoy the fruit of my labour when that person is fit and capable not withstanding any situation or condition.
WebmastersRe: Accepting Donations On Nigerian Websites by OmniPotens(m): 8:44pm On Jun 21, 2008
We just cannot stay here and keep recounting websites which we fully understand don't offer the convenience we want with our demanded product. Even at this point, if you raise the question of how many websites can now receive donations you will find out that even those listing out websites that offer such, excluding International gateways like paypal, etc are not. You know what, who has started receiving donations from his/her website? I will like to view your site.

The only solution just as Afam has kind of pointed out is creating an Application that can do this conveniently without long protocols. This is simply the solution. Just as Interswitch and e-transact are drilling pockets, good programmers in the house can take up this project, code it up and deliver, thereby solving the problem of millions of Entrepreneurs out there. But pricing should not mal your efforts, please.

I don't think recounting what I call "failed successes" is the better option. Yes we offer this and that but virtually no one is ready to use because of high rates. Don't you think your vision was dead right from when you thought about setting your high price tag?

@webmasters
It is high time we started looking into Application developments because this will surely aid in providing solutions to most of our online even offline activities.

To the peace of your hearts

Cheers!

@Afam
Why not forget this stuff and get busy with more important things. It is needless emphasizing on this issue all day because there will certainly be no victory there. Let go the argument. There are more important things to talk about.

Ok, back to the thread's topic, can you teach me how to make up the codes for such a project?
WebmastersRe: :-[webmasters Help Need Urgently! by OmniPotens(m): 6:17pm On Jun 21, 2008
I will like to know how to do this task. If anyone is willing to offer me with a tutorial on this, I will appreciate it so much. I wouldn't mind if you charge me anyway. The knowledge is all I need and I guess may webmasters out here will also want to learn to do this too.
WebmastersRe: :-[webmasters Help Need Urgently! by OmniPotens(m): 10:26am On Jun 21, 2008
Please can you duo get to the main topic of the post? The collab thread is there and still fresh to sort this out. I must tell you something, this single and collab issue cannot be easily solved.
