OP, thanks for this

I believe in traditional names.

. But please tell us where Okpameri is located and what tribe. I've never heard of the place, though I recognize some of the names so I'm guessing Delta.
Family › Re: Help, How Should I Handle This Family Secret? by Onegai(f):
FreeSpirited:
This case requires a lot of wisdom and very complicated.
It has to do with your happiness, conscience, Surrogate father whom you love, mother who you also care about since she's your mother. In your shoes this what I will do.
First thing first. If your surrogate father hasn't heard it from you, then no woman in the guise of girlfriend, wife, or her family deserve to hear. So the question of telling your girlfriend without your surrogate father first knowing is a big disrespect to him. If you can't tell him then keep shut from telling anyone close to him who can use it against him or you.
Keep it to yourself and be a man. You dint die all this while. How can you even ever thought of divulging your most sensitive secret to a woman. You have to be wise. Every family has secret.

As regard your mom, if she's happy and the family is happy. Don't be the one to ruin her or her family. She already regrets it
.
Just pray the secret doesn't get let out while the man is alive. You have to live with it cos it's too complicated. But you have to use this pain and information to treat this man in a more loving and caring manner that he will feel grateful you are a good son. So be more loving to him as your father. And it's good for you to distant yourself from ur biological father since he doesn't really have connection or stake in your life. In fact, the more distant u are to him for now, the better for your mental health. Cos any stunt from him can ruin you.
Now, imagine if this man wasn't alive to care for you, do you think your biological father would have cared and nurtured you the way this man did? So let him have his bliss and be good son.
But if he finds out. Go to him, cry, beg him, tell him you want to remain his son, that you have no father you know. make him know you are with him and against the evil of your mother.
.
For now stop accepting gifts from your biological father he's only using that to soften your heart and confuse your identity.
..
So be a man, if u didn't know this secret you won't worry, and since u know, use it to be a man, and also always use it against your mom so that she fears you and know her boundaries for the pain she caused you. So you can use the information to your advantage. It's time to be a man
As regard your girlfriend. Go on with her, love her, do your marriage. Keep it secret. In fact live your life as though you dint know this secret cos u are not even supposed to know. It's your secret and pain, bear it, and be strong. Child who has no memory or knowledge of their father and mother gets married, why not you. You have not committed any crime. The problem is you thinks life should be perfect. No you can't determine how life will relate with you. So be grateful for your life and be strong. Message me if you want further advice.
.
I repeat, never you tell your girlfriend because she will use it against you, and she will never respect your mother, let alone her family respectin ur mother. They don't deserve to know that part of you. They don't. Give your head sense, respect urself, ur in-laws shouldnt know everything about u
Nice one 👏

Cupcup, I noticed you mentioned working alongside a Deputy State Governor (somewhat boastfully), so let me also somewhat boast too and drop some advice:

I've gone on a date with a Retired Minister. I may spend Christmas with an immediate relative of the President. A Governor used to have to greet my mother with respect because she babysat him as a child (her family has money). Another President used to have lunch with my FiL. Forget Senators and Political Party leaders even.

And I can tell you this: dine with a long fork, with those guys.

Their bumbums are very gingerly perched on that seat, which is why they're always looking out for themselves. They know the money train won't last, they know once they leave office their phones will stop ringing and everyone will move on.

So they can owe you or screw you over without a backwards thought, as they're always looking out for themselves (nobody dey hustle pass dem).

My advice is simple: whatevee work you do for the Deputy Governor, find men and women who own their businesses and companies in the private sector and do it for them too. Because they're more stable, so that income will be more stable than depending on a man who is reliant on politics making him wealthy.

I like Christy Bature because she tells women not to make idols of their marriages.

I like Dolapo Lawal because he tells men how to love properly and take on the mantle of responsibility in Life. He freely admits he comes from a broken home and a Muslim family and those shaped his views.

I truly marvel at Jerry Eze because I'm not sure he realizes the magnitude of prophetic power that sometimes flows through him.

Tim Keller was a philosopher, who truly wants you to understand how God's Heart works. He never once preached prosperity gospel.

I gently leave the rest alone.

Those are my picks

I like everything you wrote, nd I have tried every thing… Except I do not agree with pray or Bible or Quran sections…. We are humans before those came to the pictures, now back to the sitting down nd talking… we have talked it nd agreed on something… but once her family comes to the picture.. Everything changes again.

I am not religious… nd in today’s world in Nigeria. I will say social media nd society have made us think we need prayer in all this thing… NAH NAH .

Many people pray but still do not get things done.. Are you telling me there are no people who do not pray nd things are going well with them… I see those sections as a blackmail Sorry if my comments about that hits differently …
My bro, let me tell a little something about me

Up until last year, you would never have seen me write "pray and read your Bible" anywhere.

In my (several 🧑‍🦳😭) decades on this earth, I had accepted that there was a God but He didn't really like me, He had his favourites. I had accepted that religion was an opium to sate the masses. When I was young, not only did I read the Bible as a historical novel (I studied The Old Testament Upto books like Maccabees), I read Greek classics (Homer, The Iliad, Odessey), attempted to read Russian classics (Anna Karenina, Love and War), studied European history and classics extensively, as well as East Asian history.

(My family's weird like that, my brother even read The Torah and the Quran for fun).

And now I tell people "there is a God and there is a devil, go read a Bible".

Why?

Because I simply cannot explain why the philosophy of the Bible makes so much sense and never contradicts Life's best decisions. Seriously. And I've seen things in my life and others (I'm on STEM, so I've noticed logic and mathetical patterns in the choices and decisions people make) to know the Bible is alive.

You see, Christianity is the main religion built on Love.

Especially compared to ancient religions like Mayan, Confucius, Egyptian mythology, German Mythology, Greek mythology etc.

Our Lord is the only Being who constantly goes "humanity is flawed. Yet My Love for them is unchanging. And I will do anything to keep loving them".

Those are powerful Words. And that is what we need most in this Life: to love.

So you'll see me watch Jerry Eze in the morning and watch Tim Keller in the evening.
(Everyone should watch Tim Keller).

I'm telling you to read your Bible and pray, so you have the wisdom to figure out what to do in the best possible manner. Because in this matter, you need WISDOM and CALM or you'll sow seeds of destruction that will make no sense in 5 years' time.

Because if I wanted to manipulate you, I'm intelligent enough to know what else to have added to my words😉

And I suspected you had spoken to her already, but she's being told not to trust you (there are so many horror stories of men sabotaging their wives and women hurting their husbands, nobody trusts anyone any longer).

So you must try Love. That's the only card left to play, that's your King of Hearts and Ace (if you played Black Jack, you'd understand that reference 🙂).

And what best example of love to emulate, than what God has shown us?

Scisne?

Abeg bro, calm down. You're letting resentment and anger and random strangers (who may be emotionally damaged) from God knows where stir up emotions that you don't need right now. And the conclusion will not be pretty and one day, you'll wonder how things escalated that fast.

You've gotten one good advise here (close the account, tell her to live according to the family finances and contribute more). Everything else you should ignore.

(Meanwhile, this is only one part of the story, we never hear her side).

Okay, so how do you implement taking charge of the family finances and getting your wife on the same page?

Step 1: Prayer listen, I know someone started screaming about his wife's finances, then descended to her bad character, she became a Narcissist, "everyone hates her, she's problematic,I deserve to be happy!". Sharply, the devil supplied him with situations and "evidence" to justify what he was doing to his pregnant wife. It's been 2 yrs, he's now living with an actual golddigger and he's blaming his wife because he can't admit how much he screwed up.

Go and pray.

I assure you, the devil uses the same handbook (he's not creative) and he's ready to deploy it on your matter, he hates the Covenant of Marriage.

If you think I'm lying, why the actual heck would children of perdition already be mentioning "DIVORCE" and fear-mongering about Women, in this matter? In your emotionally-charges state, they brought kerosene to pour on your 🔥

Communication Bros, have you sat down to tell her what you're telling us or have you been fuming and fighting?

After prayer, you need to speak to her CALMLY. You need the right words and the right moment to say those words.

New Year is a great opportunity to sit down and lovingly and firmly (notice I led with LOVE) set family goals

"Babe, this is what we're going to do and how we will achieve it. Babe, I need you to contribute more. Babe, we have our own family, let's not being your family into it..."

Understanding Bros, most people who work from home don't look busy. I work from home, I'm speaking from experience. It's why a lot of companies cancelled Remote Work after Covid passed (people were abusing it). Let her see your work, be open to her, let her see you're doing actual work not Twitter-fighting feminists and football supporters. Because she subconsciously thinks you're not busy.

Read Your Bible you got married under the Christian Convenance (I'm assuming). Which means, you should follow its' laws.

If you put yourself first and your daughter next, get ready to have a side chic who will distract you from that daughter. And get ready for Uncle Femi to buy your kid ice-cream.

I'm not kidding: marriage should be built on loving your spouse first and kids next. If you want to keep your kids safe, love your spouse. 2 happy adults will create a safe home for children, 2 unhappy adults will create an unsafe home for kids and 4 adults (add Stepparents) selfishly putting themselves first will destroy that child.

This is the time to radically love your wife, we gonna practice some Ephesians 5: 25, bros!

Seriously, I don't want you to end up as another unhappy marriage statistic, a lot of Nigerian marriages are crumbling for reasons that could have been worked out.
Family › Re: Help, How Should I Handle This Family Secret? by Onegai(f): 10:24am On Dec 23, 2025
A Father is not just the one who is biologically related to a son.

A father is the one who brings the child up, loves the child, teaches the child how to become an adult, prays for the child and is in that child's life constantly.

Kcash200, you have a father, he loves you.

That other man is at best, a relative. Because sending cash from time to time doesn't make one a Parent.

It's why there is a saying "When there is a Divorce, children lose a Father and gain an Uncle". Because a lot of Fathers prioritise their new life over their old life.

Back to your story: you have a father. That other man hasn't made an effort to be a Father. So leave him and face the man who loved you. That's your father.

And as for your mother, well, you know that she can be very selfish. Forgive her and give her some distance, be cordial but decide if you want to have a close relationship with her (she shouldn't have told a 12 yr old boy such a big secret).

Let him refine at his 650,000 BPD Refinery, then sell the refined products to Nigerians and along the West African coast.
He will proceed to sell it for N2000/ltr, even more sef and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Dangote did the same with cement and sugar (notice you can't find his competitors), then he tried to muscle in on tomato and gas.

The man thrives off Monopoly and it never ends well for Nigerians.

If FG is serious, they will push other private refineries to work, then sell to Dangote and all of them, so he cannot build a monopoly. Private smaller refineries have been begging for crude since, nothing has reached them. Sell off the govt refineries and tax them, no it's to tax market women and bank clerks and teachers

2. He's a wealthy man and most of them bank their sp*rm when they're younger, because they can afford it and in case of eventuality. Speak to a Dr, very few 87 year old men can father healthy babies naturally.

3. China had a One-Child Policy in his lifetime, which meant that a lot of Chinese chose to have sons over daughters. He already had a daughter, he couldn't have anymore legally until the law was lifted in 2015.

4. He was married 3 times, 3 different women didn't make it work with him. In cases like that, there is only one common denominator: the man. So drop this "peace of mind" talk.

5. This new wife is definitely taking advantage of him. No 37 year old woman marries an 87 year old man out of love.

6. He's traditional which means he's wanted a son for a long time and didn't want his Stepsons inheriting his wealth.

Oh my God!!

If you know anything about Education, especially International Education, those are like some of the most expensive schools in the world!

Those are schools were everyone around you is a Dollar Millionaire easily, I'm talking about the kids.

Their parents are new money who can't get into Harrow and Eton easily, so they buy their way into European Boarding schools and mingle with European royalty kids and Arab and Asian billionaire kids.

And this man is spending Nigerian money from Nigeria on this, where is he getting that kind of wealth from, if not corruption?!!

This man could have sent his kids to Charterhouse or Rugby and if his children had been academically brilliant (they're usually not angry), he could have sent them to King Edward VI or Tonbrigde or Queen Elizabeth School (but these kids rarely know book angry, why bother to study when Daddy will buy me a cushy job one day).

And they won't use those connections for anything wonderful, these kids. Your average CU-student-turned-Founder is a better bet.

There are starving kids in every 36 state of Nigeria, no government hospital with Oxygen tanks to save lives and zero fully equipped ambulances.

I know what you said. And the stats are there: OECD countries have the lowest birth rates in the world. You said that:

Most of the Asian countries like Japan and China have the same problem of overwork and not balancing family life with work. But this doesn't result in low birth rates except you telling me it affects their biological makeup somehow that enables them not to be able to birth kids in the future that makes the birth rate drop

And that's incorrect, because all 3 countries you mentioned have low birth rates and the same issues of bad work-life balance. It isn't affecting their biological makeup, it's affecting their mental makeup (they're choosing not to have kids because their societies are stressful to live in.

And if we are to be really factual, being stressed does affect you biologically, men's quality of sperm declines. And those countries actually have stronger mental makeup than us (they go and invent something when they're bored whilst we Africans sadly use sexx as a hobby undecided)
Education › Re: Can Your Child Survive South Korea's Brutal Grading System? by Onegai(f): 3:13am On Dec 13, 2025
Also, China has the same problem. JS 1 in China resumes school at 6am and gets home at 8/9pm. Their kids are in a pressure cooker too.

British kids who are academically brilliant are also in a pressure cooker: Primary School kids hoping to go to Grammar School and Private School, do private tutoring from 7-8am at home, then go to school immediately after.

My kids are also in a pressure cooker school and whilst I can see the rewards, their anxiety levels have shot up and now I'm considering homeschooling them for a year. I'm also helping them do their homework (I collect it from them and do it, because the class and educational work the do with me is way more advanced, as I work with a STEM school program).

Nigerian kids are not in a pressure cooker because there's not enough jobs to go around and we're so corrupt, Wike's son will automatically get a job before a 1st Class student from Unilag. We don't run a merit-based system here so there's no incentive to work hard.

American kids aren't in a pressure cooker unless they're in an elite school, they are still leading the world with innovation (but that will soon slow down), Russian kids used to be in a pressure cooker but Putin and his cohorts are slacking so they're no longer a top country for innovation.

Finland and Nordic countries have excellent educational system that isn't a pressure cooker because their population is very low, their countries are very wealthy so competition for jobs is minimal and they have social safety nets. Their teachers earn great salaries and can afford to teach for the pleasure of imparting knowledge, kids know that jobs dey no matter what and you won't starve no matter what.

Korean has many reasons for dropping birthrates including high cost of living, education etc but grading shouldn't be described as a contributory factor to low birth rates!
I don't think you know East Asia very well o. Because Japan has the lowest birth rate in the world. Infact, walking around with a baby will get you a lot of attention in Japan, because there are so few children around (just watch videos and read boards of foreigners living in Japan, who have kids, they'll tell you they see more people in their 90s than kids).

Korea is the same: so few children that schools are closing, Paediatric Medicine doesn't have enough Doctors and DINKs are on the rise.

Watch their street interviews and read their boards: they don't want to have kids because of the pressure cooker that is their Education system, plus the cultural expectations of what a financially successful Korean should look like, then add long work hours and expensive housing in cities with good schools and opportunities.

The younger ones used to say they would send their kids abroad (like their parents did) and then bring them home as adults. But Trump and USA and rising global anti-immigration settlement has destroyed that pathway.

So, fewer kids.

Korea's govt is even looking for incentives to encourage them to born pikin (offering families money and telling companies to reduce after-hours work related hangouts).

And for those wondering how tough Korea's educational system is, this is a recent English Comprehension exam for their WAEC, try and answer if you can undecided. You have 2 mins to answer (that's how long they're given).

Their most recent exam was so hard, the Head of the Governing Board for English just resigned to apologize.

Firstly, your husband is still trying to get over what happened. Probably show them love from afar from now, "sorry guys, you can't come over this holiday but how about I send some gifts, lots of love from Uncle and I".

Those kids are innocent (we shouldn't condemn them for the sins of their father, everyone doing so on this thread will shine their teeth with kids of corrupt politicians, infact their own parents are their hands clean, so... undecided)

If you call a dog a bad name, it will bite you. Whatever you believe about those kids, usually becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy (because you'll unconsciously treat them in a way that will enable such negative thoughts to become negative actions).

I wouldn't let my daughter do it. I wouldn't encourage my son to do it.

Marriage is very different from Cohabitation. You can walk out of living with another person, but it will take you 2-5 yeara plus a minimum of N1.5million to leave a court marriage and that's minus children's expenses.

You can cohabit with someone and you won't realise just how much she dislikes your family, then you marry her and she declares if your mama enter that house, na war. (Festac and Amuwo Odofin parts of Lagos are filled with men who brought "decent virgins" to stay with them, tested them out and married and now they're in their 30s and oh boy, she be African Warrior).

You can cohabit with a man and see how neat and hardworking he is, then he marries and tells you "you're my wife, in my culture men don't enter the kitchen". My brothers have oyinbo mentality, but when they got married, I heard from their wives how traditional they were, and it was baffling to me (because I don't know where they got it from).

Marriage has scenarios you won't even dream and will never happen in Cohabition. Nobody expects your girlfriend to sacrifice her career to take care of anybody else, but everyone demands it of wives. There is nothing in Cohabitation that will show you how your girlfriend really thinks about you giving money to your family, because she will never say her mind as your babe, but once you marry and born, you go hear am.

You will never know the kind of mind your girlfriend has until you wife her. When you're broke and there's no money for diapers or Golden Morn for the kids and she turns into a wild lioness and you never saw it coming because as 2 single people living together, your Responsibilities looked way different than as a Married Couple.

Men really don't respect most women who do it, they won't admit it but once you annoy them, they'll silently be wondering why you won't find your way back to your father's house. One chick tweeted once that the man she was living with traced out "leave" on the window rather than tell her to her face and she shamefully got the message.

Even the people that invented it, they still have high divorce rates from it (cohabit for 5 years, marry for 2 and divorce sharply).

It works for some people but in general, it doesn't work for more people.

All these can't guarantee a successful marriage. You can't predict Life, there are happy couples who divorced when their child died and unhappy couples that stayed together and battled cancer in one of their spouses together.

Breadfruit and Jackfruit aren't the same plant.
Both can grow in Nigeria easily and probably already do.

Any tropical plant that does well in India or Hawai'i will do well here. Even weird beautiful trees like Japanese Cherry Blossom grows here, as well as Orchids.

Apart from plants, you farmers need to cultivate tropical flowers (horticulture). Countries like Kenya, South Africa and The Netherlands make good money from exporting flowers. Local demand for flowers always has to be met with imports to the big cities (Lagos especially).

Once you can hack cold storage, issolova. There is a Residential Estate developer in Ikoyi that went to bring in trees from South Africa.

If the whole world tells you your decision or choice is wrong and you ask God but all you get is silence and your decision doesn't align with His word, so you justify it in your mind till it seems right...you've sown the seeds of future regret.

Karma, AKA Justice is real. Everyone gets it eventually. But if you're sitting around waiting for it to befall the ones who hurt you, stop wasting your time, because most times, it's private.

You will very rarely get the apology you deserve from people who hurt you. They don't want to even admit to themselves that they acted badly, why would they admit that to you? Forgive them and move on.

Ned didn't do anything wrong.
It was Regina and her family that abused Ned's generosity and kindness.
Ned Nwoko has been accused of domestic violence and assisting illicit drug usage.

He should have to at least face some questioning from Senate Ethics committee.

She brought this upon herself.

Her salary may not have been great but she could have used her position to be collecting contracts and bought at least one house by now.

Na only you get sense for all the comments I have read so far. One bottle of chilled Coke for you.

All these things are social media set up for his upcoming release.

From the first report released on Saturday that he had a fight with his wife in the UK, to the Instagram live events that he was heard shouting "shut down F' up"
They're all a well orchestrated and played out for something about to come.
That was my thought, at some point.

But that UK one, it was no skit and neither was it a medical emergency, as his team claim.

I think they're doing this now so as to claim this was for PR and eventually discredit and bury that UK story.

But even at that, this is so bad for the woman: she's an elected politician in a state where the Governor is from a strong opposition party and her family has lost their relevance. She's not winning that seat again, if these shenanigans continue.

Which is why I am wondering how they convinced her to let them tarnish her reputation by calling her "violent and a drug user". For 2Face, whose career is entering retirement huh

These accusations are literally criminal accusations.

APC Edo state should be gathering evidence to finish Natasha.

Have you seen the interview from his ex-manager?

I think they did that interview so as to claim later on that it was a skit or promotion for his videos or tour, and then eventually cast enough doubt publicly to discredit the London video (which is most certainly not a skit).

Because why on earth are they allowing a sitting political office holder of a state government be accused openly of committing crimes? Have they all forgotten she's an elected political office holder and this is career suicide?

I truly will not understand why the Igbinedion family didn't corral their daughter the minute they heard of her lifestyle. Because for a long time, people have been calling her the Black Sheep and saying 2Face was an upgrade for her (which is so wild to hear, for someone with her pedigree). Once you see a child misbehaving, break bottle on their head sharply.
