realdentist:Hi hon. I would pick: cotton, hemp and bamboo. I've used them and I like them a lot, they are easier to clean and are natural fibres as opposed to microfibres. I use microfibre and it absorbs a lot, but that absorption means it is the hardest to wash (mine are the best on the market and they build up a smell eventually). Also some mums had compression leakages (when the microfibre insert is full and baby sits on it, it leaks. That doesn't happen with cotton, hemp or bamboo and the minimum absorption I have gotten from any of the the inserts is 3 to 4 hours. Doctors tend to prefer the plant-based materials for inserts too because a lot of children are being born with more allergies to our overpolluted world and truly no-one reacts to cotton (we have heard of a mum who can only use cotton on her son because his allergies are that severe and most baby clothes are made of cotton). That is why our wipes are made of cotton materials because we want you to use them from newborn stage till potty-training rather than small balls of cotton (which may get poo on your hand and takes too many to clean a tiny bum) and I have used our cotton wipes from birth till 18 months, so far less than 10 shredded (we haven't bough disposable wipes since February and the ones before were gifts). I don't believe in the charcoal ones because it is impossible to treat a fabric, constantly wash it and expect it to retain the infused material (I believe the charcoal is used for deodorising but I would like to see data that shows it remains after 20 washes, even hospitals would be using them). Hemp and bamboo are precisely what you think they are , after all, Ewedu is Jute and when you see those strong brown sacks you don't think of your puny Ewedu leaf. Hemp, bamboo and cotton are also used to make paper and are very biodegradeable and prized by scientists everywhere. We have hemp, bamboo and cotton for sale, as well as diaper covers, bags, wipes and liners. Below are pictures of what we have for sale currently and we have even cuter patterns coming in so no need for skirt or pants at home anymore. So feel free to pick some covers and try some inserts to see what you like. I would beg you and Rofemiguwa to get a wetbag, to store dirty diapers till wash-day. Sprinkle some baking soda in it and no smells. That trick works for dustbins and fridges. Please email wambydiapers@gmail.com. Thanks. 1st pic: top to bottom, cotton prefold, hemp insert, bamboo insert. 2nd pic: diaper covers. 3rd pic: a diaper cover with a bamboo insert and a liner.

Cortana2:If only these loving, wonderful christians from good homes could feed and care for the orphans and the poor around them, instead of desperate seed sowing so they can "buy" favour and blessings, . Oh well, take care. |
dexterush:Before you gwan waste dis golden opportunity to get plastered use Gin (i think it is 40% alcohol) as a steriliser instead of spirit. It also works as an anaesthetic, just mix it with Schweppes (one yellow cover one, not the blue) or any sweet lemon soda. Gulp down your anaesthesia with suya. No pains during piercing, especially if you do more gin. You're welcome ![]() |
Very normal reactions. I know of a lady who had only one child and was too traumatised for the next 5 years and refused to have any more kids till that child was about 15. Her husband supported her and now they have a 2nd little child, well into their 40s and are happier and relaxed. I'm seeing more single-child families, parents flatly refusing to have more and the decision having nothing to do with Health. Not everyone is cut out for Parenting and we keep forcing it on people, then turn around and wonder why we have so many damaged individuals being churned out by such a so-called Family oriented society like Nigeria. And those damaged individuals go on to marry... |
His startup is already making money. And he will probably get even more investors now. |
hotmomma:You are either headed to a Dermatologist or a Theatre room, sorry dear. They have to cut it off. But ask them because there's a cream that helps with itching recovering wounds or whip some up (there used to be a recipe I've seen around..) |
dexterush:Boil? Or Mastitis? This sounds like a case for the Doctor. Best check prices on formula as I think they may prescribe certain Antibiotics and you can't breastfeed on most antibiotics. Don't pierce it abeg. |
bettercreature:Eat rice like the Asians. It's a small part of a varied meal, chock-ful with vegetables and proteins. Nigerians eat it with fried tomato stew, as jollof, with a side of vegetables drenched in mayonnaise or with overfried vegetables as fried rice. Which is not as healthy as an Asian meal. |
dunasy and maran1983, please where do you download songs from, what site? Thanks |
sugarcanebaby:Check a reputable pharmacy. It should say "Made in Germany". To our new mothers, Castleberry and Missade and other ladies, we welcome you to the thread. Feel free to share your own advice and #threadbabies pics is on Fridays. |
FortuneTeller:Don't mind them. The man's entire family lied to her that he is "legally engaged" to the girl in Nigeria. Please, is there anything in Nigerian Culture like "Legally Engaged"? Even if he did Traditional Wedding, in Customary Court of Nigeria he is married. If he did Introduction only, how is that a "legal engagement"? Later they will be vexing that the whole world sees a green passport and assumes they are crooks. |
Badejob, I guess you've confirmed that he did marry you for his Immigration papers. We tried telling you but you kinda kept finding justifications in the face of mounting evidence. Which is somewhat understandable. Move on. Move on or make a decision to stick with him and use him too for what you can get out of it. I did mention that there were plenty Nigerian men who are not trying to find a quick way to legalise their citizenship through a sham marriage. So if you're gonna date, go for those ones. And don't meet and get married under 2 months, it rarely works out even for people with the best intentions. All of you insulting her, well done. Her husband married her with wife in Naija. His family are playing silly mental games to keep her unsuspecting and protect "their brother". She sef messed up too (saw red flags and ignored it) but won't you be angry that someone swore he loved you and wedded you because he wanted a passport for him and his wife? A wife whom he is telling her is just his "ex-gf". Instead of bros to go and pay a sharp Naija-American babe to get kpalli, he did it cheaply by faking romance. |
This is very true. I'm tired of rice for my family. |
Castleberry:I think you need to see a Gynaecologist. I know Birth Control Pills can cause bleeding (if you are taking them) but why is the blood smelling? What are the doctors treatin for specifically? Antibiotics could mean anything. Where are you located? |
This is a beautiful way to turn your pain into joy for others. God bless this little angel who went back to Heaven. |
Dunasy that was a powerful prayer! Thank you so very much!! |
Stop waiting for NLC to fight for you. Nothing stops you guys from organising a protest. You will be surprised at the outcome. Don't march against one particular company, organise 1000 people here to show up on a particular day to protest poor working conditions in general. Blogs will cover the story, at least one news crew will show up. Make it a general complaint but mention no names of any company: poor working conditions, no overtime pay, salary deductions and mention how foreigners seem to doing it the most. All you need is a few of you to organise everyone else and give the interviews. Do you know how many journalists are looking for stories to sell to international news sites? That is how to become a Labour leader. You really think NPF will show up against a huge crowd somewhere in Lagos and be shooting you guys? Govt leaders will stylishly try and join your protest to advance their agenda, they are looking to scoring populist votes. This means your safety is assured. Unlike religious and secessation protests. Use the tools you have to do more than insult the govt ineffectually and talking about celebrities. |
iomoge2:Ah ah, jeans skirt already?! What a trendy chic ![]() |
Hollandia Yorghurt is a lot of sugar, stabiliser and artificial flavour and very little yorghurt. It's not healthy and should be something given, max, a week. Stop giving her. She will fight you but eventually will adjust. Give her water. Make sure she has eaten a proper meal before bedtime (I have to mention, Indomie is not a healthy meal, no matter what NSN endorsed them, no Dr or other country does). |
Fabmummy:Plump and pretty! |
FINA4804:Under my profile, you should see "send a private message". Click it. |
babythug:I met a young lady, who never attended any Tertiary institution (infact her secondary school was a govt one), who had her 2 children taken from her by an e who had done trad with her and then the marriage went bad. If she, relatively uneducated with minor resources and the man was better educated than her, could muster up common sense and strength to get NGOs and the Office of the Public Defender involved and win her children, then anyone who cannot do the same does not really want her kids back and should stop disturbing everyone's ears with ineffectual wailing. If one decides to act like a helpless chicken, someone will bring a sharp knife to cut your throat and pluck your feathers. |
Prettyhurts:Oya, let us recalculate her bill !! Ebeano supermarket in Lekki. I thought the N1650 was high. I believe it's cheaper on the mainland though. |
Even in the village, the elders will return the child back to the mother and you will pay your fine of yams and other goods, for disturbing the peace. But we keep spouting sentimental nonsense. I don't gerrit, even my mama is not sentimental about stuff the way I see on NL and she's not a feminist somborri. Hian! |
babythug:Never heard of that rule but this is NL. Lots of weird info here. No-one will take a child from its mother unless they can prove she is a drug dealing hooker or neglects the child, even if she remarries. If the father files for full custody after the mother's remarriage, he has to prove that the new home won't be conducive to the child or the child will be take far away, he may be considered. Being the biological father of a child, especially when you didn't marry the mother, doesn't mean shishi. Naniawini, call your family and be heading there tomorrow to pick up your child. Pick up first, then discuss later. He has no legal rights to custody of the child, especially if he cannot show any proof of payment or money transfers for the upkeep of the child. Do you know you could have sued him for hospital bills, if you had the baby in Lagos state, he owes you the minimum of N45,000 for hospital bill (payment for GH fees is how they calculate it). But that's in the past. In the future, all family visits should be done in your home till they can prove trustworthy and Father has discharged his responsibility. If they start speaking too much English about why they cannot give you your daughter back, The Office of the Public Defender is on Western Avenue, on the right side heading to Ojuelegba. They will tell you which police station you need to go to, if things get ugly. Our Police officers don't know the law, so they can be speaking English too unless you grease their palms. Also, NGOs are a lot in Yaba area (i think), Police hate NGOs, they move faster when they show up. Have her birth certificate, pictures and a copy of your bank statements (as proof that he didn't transfer money to your account, though he could claim he gave you cash). Does this sound like a plan? |
FINA4804:Send me a pm. It works weird but the message will get delivered eventually. |
Either swallow your humiliation with a cup of cold water and continue to face your front (because it is going to get worse) or find money and rent a one bedroom and keep your dignity. They are cooking with firewood, you entered kitchen. In their minds, you are "carrying yourself like a peacock" because of that, that is why they are saying these stuff and throwing the food away. Some people's families are like that: you get a maid and a washing machine, they begin to feel like you want to show off that you are modern or that you are implying they are bush or poor villagers and the insults start flowing. Ladies, marry within your social class and marry your levels of understanding. Because this scenario plays out a lot in Nigerian families. Because walai, you will "enjoy" an insult one day over this matter. Petty, yes. Common, even more so. Nigerians were not brought up to be tolerant and understanding of other people's choices. |
Good morning mamas, today is #Threadbabies ![]() Please Pretimum and Dunasy, could you prepare to lead us for Saturday Morning Prayers tomorrow? Thank you very much. ![]() |
And I used to think this guy was one to keep in mind, until I saw that thread complaining about him. |
rezzy:Never heard of pap causing cough. Was there groundnut in the pap, that may cause cough. Seems weird. Meanwhile, (13 cans xN1650)+(2×1300)= N24,050. 5 yards of Austrian lace at SAS= N25,000 Beaded necklace at Itoro Okon= N20,000 wig made of quality synthetic hair = N22,000 Medium Brown (a few seasons old) Michael Kors satchel bag = N26,750 Just one month's bill... Then one day he will tell you the girl he married at 25 needs to give him permission before you can come over...
