dexterush:And with that sentence, you just win the internet! What is "Repented Ogbono Soup"? Have we all been eating unforgiven and unrepentant Ogbono soup?! Is this why sometimes my Ogbono Soup refuses to draw Because it is a sinner?! That makes so much sense.... |
Here to rant: ever since Madam Baby E realised what "Hello" and "Bye bye" was, she has been waving and expecting me to wave back at her. No matter what I'm doing. If I'm on the phone and Teletubbies says "bye bye tinky winky", she will pull the phone out of my hand and wave vigorously at me until I wave back and laugh delightedly. Himself has been woken from sleep to wave "Hello" at her, because she was watching "Hello" song on Pinkfong. Yeah, Pinkfong is another sore topic ![]() |
Okay, everybody write anything till we get to page 667! Price of bread and biscuits is going up an additional 15% this month! Everybody panic!! |
thorpido:I think it is because we treat contraceptives as a dirty word in Nigeria if you're not married. Imagine getting contraceptive subsidised at a Govt facility and those matrons giving you side eye. My siblings used to tell me about young girls brought by their parents to hospital, the girls would be swearing that they didn't even associate with boys outside of school and the parents will be spending money paying for malaria test, typhoid test when the simple truth lay in front of their noses. Blank, keepingmum, do you remember her initial moniker? I wonder how she was receiving money from the SA guy without a bank account, even if his friends were the ones giving her here, was she carrying the cash to put under her pillow?? She keeps choosing bad guys, after one baby she is still not keeping herself safe, she has learnt a trade but doesn't want to use it (instead she wants money to start a business, won't say what) and is expecting the world owes her help and making up silly tales to wring people's hearts. I dunno, but I think if we can get an NGO to agree to take the baby when born for a closed adoption, then we help financially AFTER the adoption has been confirmed and she has done a coil or implant (NGO from another state). Abortion if she's at 3 months is tricky and we don't want her claiming afterwards that she was forced to abort. We also don't want her claiming she was forced to sell her baby. Sometimes, loving a child is not enough and I would rather see a child with parents that will keep baby safe, not keeping a child beside you, suffering, when you know you're not the type mentally strong enough to be a good parent. There's something called Safe Surrender, practised abroad, for mothers who want to safely give their babies up for adoption. I think an NGO should be formed around that idea: every LGA and GH and health centre and town hall has flyers with safe locations where you can drop a baby and walk away, no questions asked. But you don't come back. Btw, a lot of NGOs are run for profit in Nigeria. So maybe a church/ mosque be involved cc Jaybee3 |
Tojued:Stanbic IBTC, 5% for like 5 years. Go to the branch on Walter Carrington in VI. |
Dyt:But why is your life like this eh ? you'll soon say you picked the Four Points paper from a dustbin because you were too broke to afford a photocopy centre |
dexterush: you're like my sister, she wpuld eat half my Similac in those days!
|
EfemenaXY:I can look around and recommend someone. I think the important thing is to not let them know why you're interested in the child until you're ready and then paying directly to the school. |
MizMyColi:But you're not her. Making hair and beauty concerns is a very steady source of income. Every Thursday to Saturday is a party, nothing stops her from even taking a chair, going to a field and tying gele for N50p apiece. Is LASU not around Igando, plenty customers. But she came here to spread a tale of woe and anguish, who makes the choice to starve their child rather than get productive? I'm not going to reward that sort of thinking, I don't have a steady income coming in and if I do, I will go down to the mall and take a Saleslady job and get ready to swallow all embarrassment from friends finding out. I'll give her money after she has the baby and puts it up for adoption and gets fitted with a 5-year Contraceptive. cc moji26 suzzy16 Jaybee3, it's really expensive to terminate after 3 months (if she's upto that sef). |
MizMyColi:She's not fake, she just depending on others for money. You're "happy" and are going to work, she's in her 1st trimester and she's unable to get a stool, a comb or 2, some cheap bottles of nail polish and a chair and break a sweat. People like this exist, not a big deal Oya, calm down and breathe deeply and go and eat fried chicken. |
Dyt:You didn't call God and tell us you were starving and about to drink Sniper now, did you? |
keepingmum:Finally, something that makes sense. So 2 years ago, she was here pleading for help after baby 1 and then went on to depend on another man financially, get pregnant and then come back here to beg again. I knew this was her 3rd moniker on NL. She can make hair and do nails and fix false lashes, but is broke, starving and sick and cannot do anything with her hands except beg with a new moniker. She's been active on NL for at least 2 years and came back to Nigeria since, yet couldn't open a bank account and has been friendless all this while. In the U.S. they call these ladies "Welfare Queens". We should totally reward her with lots of money. I refuse to believe that stunt she tried to pull soliciting in Sexu.ality section was caused by desperation, more likely a search for financial provider no 3. Remember all those well-dressed ladies and men at bus stops... cc ifyalways, mizmycoli, thorpido, jaybee3, moji26 |
Realhommie:I almost think I know whom you are talking of... |
damiso:From childhood, I was told "house and land in your name". Those women didn't play and didn't carry Man ontop their heads like we do. But yeah, rose-tinted glasses at the "saints of the past and sinners of tomorrow". |
This may cause a run on the banks |
MetroTee:Get over it, toddlers like drinking from the toilet please let me know and what's the address. |
stadora:He's going to cry. If I give you 24 carat Dubai gold to be wearing for 11 months and then take it from you, won't you cry Just keep at it, give him water, leave the room when he starts fighting for it. He will eventually adjust. |
damiso:Pentecostal Christianity sanitised a lot. It made everyone more moralistic. |
MizMyColi:Some time this year, someone sent me a mesaage via whatsapp, showed me samples of her work and I paid for a job. When she scammed me, I furiously contacted the whatsapp number, only for someone else to say it was HER phone, her friend had asked her to please borrow it and me pics of HER OWN work in order to get a job from me that she couldn't do. I don't know what is going on, but Logic is not on the side of the OP. Let her come back and explain, and I'll support her. |
MizMyColi:Seen. I didn't see anything about the antenatal and other stuff, not even an explanation. All she said was no-one believes her here and her mum isn't helping her. She says she's friendless but has been contacting NLers offline with her other account (which is why I keep mentioning humbledbygrace, that's whom she interacted here with a lot, so how come she's totally friendless). Where's her antenatal card? How come she didn't want to sell her tecno tab and powerbank to raise money to go to the hospital? That was what she said here, that she was too hungry and sick to go for antenatal. How come she has a Nigerian International passport and no bank account? How come she has been browsing all this time on social networks and nothing, it didn't occur to her to open a bank account? Where was she getting money from, the man? She's not an illiterate o, so this is hard to believe. I swear, I'm gonna pull this stunt next week... |
Loisemm:Okay then. I'll step back, let's see how things unfold. |
ifyalways:Person lived in and out of Nigeria, Yoruba geh for that matter, does not have bank account. Okay o. I'm sure she's pregnant (because she was checking out Pregnancy thread in health section and her friend called her there), but that she didn't realise she could have offloaded her tecno tab and her power bank and it would have been enough for paying for antenatal at a govt hospital (and that lack of knowledge is coming from someone who was asking about immunizations on Newborn thread in health section over a year ago, so she hangs out there and has access to a lot of valid info about how much it is to get a card there), well, okay o. I am active on those threads, it is impossible to read them and be clueless about giving birth in Nigeria. Those mamas write from every section and corner of Nigeria and the world, they have even turned to auxillary nurses the way they know stuff And everyone knows govt hospital is cheap, everyone. And there is one in Igando. But okay o.Thorpido, biko, how much is it to open a card at GH for antenatal, has it reached N10,000? Discard the instinctive emotional response and ask yourself "how logical is this", then see why I vexed here. |
MizMyColi:Please let her send it to me, I will take her to GH Igando myself to register for antenatal. This is not about any questionable past or me judging her morality, this is about genuine need. Everybody needs money but don't claim what you are not. |
jaybee3:Had she sold the tablet, she would have enough money to register for antenatal at General Hospital Igando. Instead of her to say "please I want money for business, Naija dey hard" (which is what the suzzy16 profile said this year and also said she wanted to leave), she came here and started saying the magic words: helpless, child, suicide, God, abandoned. It's like all those well-dressed women you see at the busstops or 2 ladies on Lekki express way, whom for the past 2 years their twin babies seem not to have grown past more than 8 months of age. The day I confronted one of these "penniless, insane, pregnant" beggars and she spoke educated English to me, was the day I started believing all the tales my siblings used to tell me. They are doctors who passed through Nigerian government hospitals, they had seen it all. |
cococandy:my sister! oya, let us see her antenatal card, it will show when she registered, infact your first visit the doctor will estimate the due date of your baby based on LMP. It should be there. I walked into SLOT and sold my old tablet for N12k and it had no battery, so a 1 month preggers lady can't think like that, but hey, hooking up for pay with strangers online na d koko. A lot of people are looking for extra income and have started making up sob stories. She may be pregnant but the rest of that tale, nope! moji26, please pm me and send your antenatal card. |
MizMyColi:Ask yourself this question: whom are the sort of people who do not have bank accounts in their names? They exist in real life. But are they on NL, are they travelling internationally? Why the foolish lie? Okay, so you don't want people to identify you and you wanted to use someone's bank account to keep yourself coded, why drop the names "Quadri Moji suliat" here and ask for verification? Does that make sense? Will I tell you my real name and yet say I want to use my friend's account number in order to protect my privacy? Igando where is she?? I can go to Festac and drive down to Igando from there tomorrow because of this. I get big mamas for Igando, let me see if I can call her to go there, if she can convince a 77 year old wise crone, I send her money. |
sisisioge:My anger is that I would have carried her to Health section to try and organise stuff for her. Because there are truly desperate people out there. But they are never on NL, the ones that really need help. |
cococandy:Go and donate. But first donate to me: I can use a smartphone and an andriod device yet I am totally helpless to get myself a bank account. Infact, what is a bank sef, never heard of those things... |
jaybee3:Check the dates of her postings. It's not her past, check the dates! Which girl gets pregnant and immediately in the first month of pregnancy, turns to prostitution when she has stuff she can exchange for money? Read thar suzzy16's posts and ask yourself if she sounds genuine or like a hustler. How come she did not have a bank account, had zero idea how to open one today, yet for the past year on NL has been chatting with foreigners and trying to make friends with people who didn't want to contact her? Does that sound logical? Does any of that past match up to the person you read about in the first post? |
moji26:But you didn't have money to eat or do antenatal na, why are you holding onto the tablet? If anyone is in the mood to dash money, please go ahead. As for me, I can't deal. |
Oya come and entertain us with some more tales. Not one single mention of the other guy for over 1 year yet he beat you and got you pregnant. You have been posting on NL since 2015 yet don't have bank account. She logged into her suzzy16 profile and removed the number and then came here to post. |

baby food is so yummy I and my sil are partners in crime, she is ATCing but if you go to her house you will see baby milk, she enjoys licking it,and whenever she comes around my babies milk and cereals are not spared.her DH calls her cow and gate(and she is fat)
and are going to work, she's in her 1st trimester and she's unable to get a stool, a comb or 2, some cheap bottles of nail polish and a chair and break a sweat. People like this exist, not a big deal

) antics of the girls of these generation. I guess its cos there was more openness about polygamy so they sef no send the man
all this stay there and die kinda marriage was not in their dictionary. I don't know any woman in the 25-45 age bracket who had 4 kids for 3 husbands ( and is very proud of it) but off the top off my head I know over 65's with that scenario.
