helovesme:There is a Dove Baby soap (it's more common in the U.S. though), but Dove Pure and Sensitive isn't a tear-free formula. |
I think the most commendable thing the OP did was to enroll the kids in their program to get them off the streets. And I think they should follow-up on that and not be so quick to give out money until they see signs that their mother is pushing them to get educated. Because a lot of times, parents of street kids are the ones pulling their kids out of affordable public schools or programs to keep them on the streets. Because Begging makes them money rather than sending them to school. A lot of NGOs, volunteers and Public Health workers will attest to the fact that a lot of churches and programs exist to help these kids but their parents don't take that help serious. So to everyone wanting to give streetkids money, please don't. You are just encouraging their parents to keep them begging on the streets and that money you give is a plaster on a surgical wound: won't go that far. Why not support NGOs who work actively to keep disadvantaged kids in school? Slum2School is a great NGO for this. Please donate or volunteer: http://www.slumtoschool.org/pages/home/ MedicNG, Nigerian Red Cross Home for Orphans and Abandoned children also need volunteers. Heart of Gold Hospice, Surulere, is a care home for children with disabilities. ZODML is a free library that encourages literacy in less-privileged kids. And there are lots more. So channel your help there and eventually we hope that parents of streetkids realise that their children are not a source of easy income for them and let them be educated and strive for a better position in society. |
Hey guys. Cute babies everywhere. Doynb, fabmum, comtem and other mamas, thanks for checking in on me ![]() |

Hi, no problem. I'll save your contact but please take it off NL so scammers don't start calling you. |
Zheemub:There are a lot oh. It would have to be from a website, so let me check. But check the British Education website (I can't remember it). |
enque:I'll let you know once they go on sale and we can talk about any questions. ![]() |
Zheemub, how old are the preschoolers? Are they your kids? |
cutiereborn:Amen and amen. |
enque:November. |
Good morning mamas, please can anyone pray for us? |
enque:pintoxx and comtem2011 as well. They have diaper covers, diaper inserts (cotton, bamboo and microfiber), Snappi pins, wetbags and wipes. It's a more expanded product line, like what they offer abroad. The company is run by 2 mothers who cloth diapered their own children. I've been asked to speak and explain their products and usage as well. So when they launch, I will download an entire thread on explaining the proper way to cloth diaper.
|
SamuelAnyawu:Only 20%? I've heard stories about how many of them go abroad to fill out their prescriptions so that no Nigerian pharmacy can leak their secrets. |
Dyt, I'm sending you one basket of recharge cards, but they're shipping them from China so you kinda have to pay the tfare to me to transfer to the sellers. It's like N15000 shipping but Im sending N5000 worth of cards. |
EfemenaXY:Nah. This is NL, all I shall henceforth say on any thread is "hmmm, it is well |
lexajen:I use nappies and cloth wipes and they work well for me and I believe in the long run, they are much cheaper and function better than most locally produced diaposable diapers. I used Aveeno baby wash and switched to Dove pure and sensitive after 3 months. Antiseptic baby cream is unnecessary in my opinion and I shared on the Newborn thread a link that antibacterial handwashes and soaps were being banned in the U.S. from next year. I can answer more there on that thread if you like. |
Loisemm:But don't you want us to pet you like this one day, hmmm? I admit, it would be lovely if I were getting the attention. |
MizMyColi:My lucky Market slippers! Everytime I wear them, I score: last time it was like N300 worth of waterleaf for N100. I was like "uh huh, oy yeah, side-step dance". Ifyalways, her mum has agreed to take care of her financially now. So all's well that ends well. |
Caveatemptor, please come and carry me on your head. Biko! ![]() I knew you meant well but I was once this chick so I can read her very well and what worked for me was brutal honesty and people allowing me to hit rock bottom. The School of Hard Knocks The way those that cared the most about us lashed us emotional and verbal bulala is what saved us and those people are now the ones cheering us on and guiding us, because they can see how we have grown. |
dexterush:Wow. How did they find out? |
pjthatcher:With Bribery. Ours is Pinkfong and videos on Youtube. Give him what he likes and if he tries to get up, grab him and gently put him back. |
misterp9, did you see this https://www.nairaland.com/3407687/abuja-girl-videotapes-married-boyfriends there's hope for the police involvement. My only worry is that maybe that married man was a heavyweight. |
AlphaHandMaiden:But that's why I said "Maybe that's why he said it ", na. Who knows if he had it done to him and he believes it made him big and strong? ![]() You and Babythug saying "let's go and beat him, you will get there and he will look like Hulk Hogan and you will quietly moonwalk from that battle and pretend that you only came to ask him where they sell delicious akara around his office. |
babythug:mummide and babythug, let's cool down for Jesus. Spirit is alcohol and alcohol is good for sanitising and killing germs on the skin. They use it to swab the skin before incision and before and after injections. So that no bacteria on the skin enters the blood, infects the puncture/cut/wound and causes Sepsis. It is just very pepper-y. Maybe that is why he said it. Before you fuya find him and tear up his medical degree ![]() |
icebebe:oooohhhhh we have seen this here before! I think Babythug is right and you should follow her tips. pele |
modupeaderonke:No, you shouldn't be ![]() |
Osolobua, if I go on 2nd missionary journey because of all these fine pixs I'm seeing here, I promise you all that I will fine you N50,000 each See adorable babies everywhere. |
veave:Sorry but no, I'm not joining this. Carry your whistle, put am for ground. Ginger don leave my bodi, anyone that insults me again, I go no answer. Anyone that praises, I still won't answer. It is not about me, it should not even turn to begging anyone to stay or leave or anything. It's not about us. |
Caveatemptor no need to explain. You meant well, it is not your fault. She has even apologised. Just let it go. Please don't get angry. You will laugh about it by this evening. |

missjo:Madam, you're right! But back to the matter: what are your contributions and thoughts? |
missjo:Na wa o. See, I don't care how people view me, I don't care if they clap. Their Likes and quotes didn't send an alert to my bank account. I don't even care much about this, it's not about me or about getting likes or quoting Abraham Lincoln. I dunno, I thought I saw some girl who was just like me and I really got caught up in trying to make sure she didn't waste too much time getting to where she needed to be. What I do care about, and what you are refusing to see, is all the numerous people whom have come here to relate their own stories with people like her and how and what worked to change the situation for the better. And in every case that ended well, same story: someone was strict with the person. But, I'm gonna do you a solid. I'm going to personally hand over to you and step away, if anyone mentions me I will mention you and I'll check with the people doing the most what your contributions are. How does that sound, good? So, when are you going to Igando oh, and what do you think we should discuss with the father of the child? Could you help with the antenatal? How about the beauty course, I had some ideas that maybe I could contact some friends of mine about helping later but I'm sure you have tons of ideas! Thanks |
Prettyhurts:This is why some girls' brideprice is N1million! |
