Watching porn and masturbating are two different things. Go ahead and masturbate but use your imagination; don't watch porn because it does have some real negative effects.
Regular masturbation before the age of 30 reduces your chance of prostate cancer later in life by up to 30%. Masturbation is also essential for developing sexual control prior to marriage. You don't want to come 5 seconds into your first night with your wife. |

Your request for a sign echoes that of some men in the Bible (including Herod), somehow He did not act to gratify their curiosity Well then I guess he will just have one less worshiper. I think that it is absolutely reasonable to demand evidence. |

He also knows our hearts and it's inclinations to either alternatives but the only influence He makes is to warn or encourage where applicable. This far the Bible reveals to us of His Omni-Science. This is not possible. It is a logical impossibility. If this god knows what will happen and is all powerful then it must be a result of his will. |

Besides, the real joy of a Christian (at least for me) is not Streets of Gold, Pearly Gates, Mansions...etc Lack of evidence of any particular god is my position. I cannot fake believe. HEFAIROHLUWA: Why didn't he prevent the devil (a former angel) and the fallen angels from rebelling against him? He allowed them freewill even in his kingdom instead of creating robots. He created adam and eve perfectly good but also with a freewill to make their choice thereby advising them not to eat of the tree of Good and evil, but the devil wanted to prove to God that God's standard is too high due to his pride . That was the reason he tricked them into eating the fruit. If God had created Hunan like robots that bend to his will then the devil have won.He will say that God is afraid and selfish to again create some one with a free will like him(the devil) fearing rebellion to his standards. #God is not partial# That was why he sent JESUS as a MAN to show us.Even Jesus could have failed if he decided to. Free will and an all-knowing, all powerful god are two incompatible ideas. If this god does not know the future then he is not all-knowing; if he does know the future then it is because it is what he wanted to happen. |

Scholar8200: And till date is the Father bereft of ideas for a way out? Did He speak of the way out after brainstorming for some centuries after the fall or immediately after the fall?
From the proceedings in Genesis it is clear that what the Father wanted was that Adam would decide if he will remain in that state in which he was created! (Adam did not choose the state in which he was created, God did). And that is why immediately after the fall, he was sent out lest he took from the one that God did not forbid him from taking - the Tree of life and remain irredeemably in that fallen state forever.
If Adam had taken from Tree of life first, then there will be no need for the tempter because Adam's state would be positively irreversible! Though I don't believe the story of Adam and Eve one bit, I would have been rather happy to see Adam eat the apple so that we would not live a life of an ignorant zombie just passively existing without any challenges in some garden. What a boring existence that would be. It's for the exact same reason that the idea of Heaven does not appeal to me. No challenges and no meaning to existence. |

No, the right thing would be, your son became troublesome.. If the father in this case happened to be all-powerful, all-knowing, and omnipresent, then yes, it would be his fault because he knowingly created a son that he knew would turn out to be troublesome, even though he could have prevented it without any problem to himself. |

Only because he does not promote homosexuality. Democrat like homosexuality too much. Right now in the US supreme court there is a case to ban anything that identifies male or female. So nobody will be called male or female. For instance there will be General public toilet and nothing like either male or female toilet.
Imagine in boarding house secondary school, boys and girls stay in same room or hostel. No more only boys or only girls school.
I pray that case does not succeed And you wonder why Nigeria is in such a state. People worry about homosexuality instead of important things like job creation and investment and fighting corruption. |

hockeyoilers: Greetings of peace
I'm curious about Lent fasting. Is Lent fasting similar to Ramadan ie. No food nor drink between sunrise to sunset ? How long is the fasting period. Is it obligatory, jurisprudence etc. I just want straight answers ,no argument. I won't post, just want to learn. Thank you very kindly in advance. Atheist here but grew up going to church. Lent varies from church to church. The Catholics have their traditions, as do the Orthodox and Protestant churches. Many Protestant churches don't really do that much for Lent in terms of fasting; my church did not mandate any type of fasting. However, for the most part one is expected to reduce consumption of food (as in one meal a day, usually in the afternoon, and a small snack at night), and no meat, wine, or milk products. There is no fasting on Sunday--this is true for all churches I believe. They are also supposed to pray a lot more during this time period. In more recent times churches have simply asked that people give up something they really like for the entire Lent, instead of fasting. So some people give up alcohol or meat or even social media for 40 days. |

I dont see non-football fans wearing non-football clothes and proudly representing their non-football fanatics...I am an atheist by the way, i just dont see the point of the celebration Well, if your family had forced you, against your will, to wear football jerseys and forced you to go to watch football matches and threatened to kick you out of the house if you did not show enthusiasm for football, every week from the time that you were born; and if you were told repeatedly that football was the most important thing in anyone's life, and that anyone who did not like football was a fool and evil, then you might be willing to celebrate the fact that you were able to successfully overcome that brainwashing and free yourself from something that you hated doing. |

Nice to see another throw off the mental chains of religion. I am an agnostic atheist, that is, I lack belief in any gods but I am always open to real evidence that there is one. But certainly these religions are all man-made and are used to control people.
Depending on where you are, being atheist can be quite difficult, so it's not always a joyous occasion. |

I don't really know any more than what I've read, but given that gay people generally cannot change no matter how disliked they are, leads me to conclude that it must be more than a choice. If sexual orientation is a choice then by rule everyone must be bisexual until they 'choose' what they like. Speaking from personal experience I know that I am not bisexual and this is not going to change. |

RSA: You mean this murderous? What is successful about them? A little history about this "white" Jews The actual lineage of these European Jews of Israel today is limited going back only as far as to the Kharzar Jews of Eastern Europe whose ancestors merely converted to Judaism from their earlier belief of paganism. Studies of DNA show that European Jews have a male line that comes from the Middle East (that is, similar to Arabs), while the mother's line is a mix of European and Middle Eastern genes. All Jewish groups, regardless of whether they come from Iran, Egypt, Morocco, UK, or Russia, are more closely related to each other than to the indigenous peoples of the places they inhabited. This would indicate an unbroken line back to the area from which the Jews were expelled, i.e. Palestine and Jordan. |
