Am living in a country that is 90% Muslim and the breweries here would go bankrupt in a month if all the Muslims stopped drinking. Flag, Gazelle, Castel, 33, all brewed locally and have many Muslim employees.

What is peculiar about them?

Very demanding and don't like to take orders from the staff.

To be honest if I was an airline steward, there are 3 countries that I would not like to fly in and out of because of the passengers: Nigeria, Israel, and China.

Can you suggest these philosophical ideas?

Secular humanism is probably the best at the moment and is the basis for modern human rights.
Religion / Re: Can We Do Without Religion (christianity, Islam...) ? by onetrack(m): 8:38am On Sep 17, 2017
Of course we can live without religion. Most people in northern Europe are doing just that and they seem to be doing ok. We do need a set of philosophical ideals to replace it though.

I am an atheist but I go to a friend's house for Sallah every year. He provides the meat and I bring the beer. It works out very well. smiley

I would love to see the US/British/German embassies announce a one-time free work visa for anyone who is willing to swear they are gay or trans. I wonder what Abuja could look like, and how many of the applicants also claimed to be devout Christians or Muslims. grin grin

The world is not ending, even if we as a species disappear from the planet due to our own mismanagement of the earth.

Death is final. There is no afterlife, nor is there any Jesus to greet you. smiley

If you want to find out how many 'ends of the world' you have already survived, try this website:

http://jkirchartz.com/demos/How_Many_Apocalypses_Have_I_Survived.html

According to this I have survived 57 end-times, and I plan on surviving this one as I did the others.

Religion / Re: How Religion Works; The Psychology Behind It. by onetrack(m): 9:30am On Aug 03, 2017
Yes that's a good psychological analogy. It's how taboos are created. Also another factor in religion is people wanting to understand how things actually work. If they cannot explain something logically (rain, for example), then they will resort to supernatural explanations.

It's not 1500 years old, the book is only about 600 years old and is a proven fraud.

As an atheist it is meaningless to me but I get tired of seeing this posted here year after year.

Lol. You assume he is going to admit the possibility of being wrong considering the flimsiness of his evidence for the god and afterlife he so much believes in.

I know he's not going to admit it right now but sowing a seed of doubt sometimes bears fruit.

Let me ask you, what if those confessions are true at last and you realized you were stupid just a second before you final breath like some of those above you tagged as propaganda above?

I'll do the same thing you would do if you found out a second before your death that only atheists go to heaven.

from Genesis until now, what God has reveal about himself and the truth, are consistant that's why I am a christian. God has reveal Himself to those who want to worship Him in truth.

I believe the Bible to be entirely the work of humans, just like the Quran and Gita, and I've seen no evidence to the contrary.

In any case belief is entirely a product of the mind and so god or gods are also products of the minds. Whether or not there is a creator I can't say.

What is the basis of the highlighted statement?

It means even if there is a god, there is no evidence that it should be worshipped, or wants to be worshipped. This is a human need, not a godly one.

why will you want to jeopardise your eternity on an incomplete knowledge of the afterlife ?

And you as well. You risk worshipping the wrong god in the wrong way.

From where have you obtained your righteousness with which you can judge how right or wrong God is?

You'd have to define righteousness first, since everyone has a different idea of what it is.

Any god who created a hell for his own creations is not worthy of worship. Let him rot for all I care.

Edit: After a brief search, it appears that most of these 'last words' appear to be fake/propaganda.

well, what a good move to start eradicating trannys from this world, enough of all the dirt from Obama, this is the right time for America to reclaim there glory... to damnation to all who are not satisfied with their gender, cause they will always remain insatiable to all good things of nature.

What do you mean by eradication?

can't you read to understand his motive, he said tremendous cost are being incurred to maintain trannys, so since that's the best way to keep cash flowing in America, so his development is welcomed,

US military spends more on Viagra than addressing medical needs of trans people.

I don't see the problem with trans people anyway. Let them serve their country if they like.

A more basic problem for me is you referring to the Quran as the word of Allah. To me it's just a book written by people as with every other book. Until this basic problem is resolved, going into the Quran is useless. And the so-called 'miracles' are easily debunked.
