Odiriance4all:Please we need more topics like this involving people from tribes other than Igbo, Hausa/Fulani or Yoruba. If the lady involved in this topic was from one of those groups, this thread would have quickly degenerated into ethnic slurs, name calling and stereotyping. The central issue will be ignored and nothing will be learned. Any foreigner dipping into this forum and landing on such a page will think that we are all right wing lunatic bigots. |

BoyOfNaija:One way for you. Instant success. Ritual of Death Wealth Reincarnation (A solis ortu mors rituali Metempsychosis). It has its origins in the ancient and mysterious Mashco-Piro tribe in the deep dark jungles of Peru where modern life has not penetrated except for a handful of very rugged and determination suicidal explorers. Basically the ritual, only attempted by the bravest of the brave, means you have to allow your self to be bitten by the deadly Brazilian wandering spider. You will instantly be inflicted by a long extremely painful erection followed by the most intense pain you can ever imagine. While this is happening, and while you slide into delirium, you have to chant some specific lines in ancient Latin that you would have practiced beforehand. At the end of the lines you have to call the specific amount of money that you need. You will then slip into madness and then die a cruelly painful death. You will reincarnate at the next set of the sun and will be worth the money that you called within 30 sun sets. One side effect of this ritual is that you will have to be smashing pvssy every day because it makes you rod very potent and overactive. I've heard of one man in the east who is in possession of this spider in Nigeria. But be warned! Some people have gone through that process and ended up poorer than they were before because the intense pain and madness from the bite of the Brazilian wandering spider made them talk rubbish instead of calling big money during the ritual. Imagine having an overactive rod with no money?! You will be addicted to constant self servicing and prone to rape. |

ezenwajosh:The ones that were called "sweepers" during the civil war. Typically had long hair that covered their eyes. Basically they operated behind the normal Nigerian army. When the regular Nigerian army had taken a location, these Gwodo Gwodo came in and "swept" everything in their part. In fact some kind hearted Nigerian Army soldiers used to warn villagers to run away and not come back after x amount of days because the Gwodo Gwodo were foreigners who spoke no English and killed anything that moved apart from women whom they raped first. |

ValCon888:You got this wrong. I know that school very well. It started off as Training school for the petroleum industry before attaining polytechnic status in the 90s and then university. You've always had junior staff from various petroleum companies in Warri, PH and Benin attending there as students. Especially staff from Warri Refinery and Petrochemicals. These are young men and women who probably joined these companies straight from secondary schools, have worked their way properly into the company but cannot progress further because of no higher institution qualification. Some have been granted study leave by their companies while some are bravely working and studying full time. Thats why you see countless students with cars |
thebosstrevor1:Hausa soldiers have always been more in the army right from colonial times. The British saw them as "warrior tribe" and they always showed extreme loyalty and extreme brutality in the field. Without the use of the Hausa soldier the British conquest of Nigeria would have been almost impossible. Here's an excerpt from somewhere - In British colonial Nigeria, the military was more heterogeneous than previously thought and British ideas about “martial races” changed depending on local reactions to recruiting. In the early twentieth century British officers saw the northern Hausa and southwestern Yoruba, who dominated the ranks, as civilized “martial races.” The Yoruba stopped enlisting given new prospects and protest, and southeasterners like the Igbo rejected recruiting given language difficulties and resistance. The British then perceived all southern Nigerians as lacking martial qualities. Although Hausa enlistment also declined with opportunities and religious objections, the inter-war army developed a northern ethos through Hausa language and the northern location of military institutions. The rank-and-file became increasingly diverse including northern and Middle Belt minorities, seen by the British as primitive warriors and as insurance against Muslim revolt, enlisting because of poverty. From 1930, military identities in Nigeria polarized with uneducated northern/Middle Belt infantry and literate southern technicians. Some more facts/history - Royal West African Frontier Force The decision to raise this force was taken in 1897 because of British concern at French colonial expansion in territories bordering on Northern Nigeria. The first troops were from that area and thought of by the British as "Hausas" - to the end of colonial rule, the Hausa language was a lingua franca in a very multi-tribal force, especially in Nigeria. On formation in 1900, the RWAFF comprised: Gold Coast Regiment – 1 battalion infantry and 1 battery mountain artillery Northern Nigeria Regiment – 3 battalions infantry (including 1 mounted) Southern Nigeria Regiment – 2 battalions infantry and 2 batteries mountain artillery. **Half of the Southern Nigeria Regiment (1 whole battalion) was made up of the the "Hausa Force" or Lagos battalion. Sierra Leone Battalion – 1 battalion The Gambia Company – 1 company **Therefore in effect 4 whole battalions (half) of the RWAFF was made up of "Hausa" or Northern soldiers. On 1 January 1914 the Southern Nigeria Regiment's two battalions were merged with those of the Northern Nigeria Regiment to become simply the Nigeria Regiment. The RWAFF was finally disbanded in 1960 as the British colonies of Nigeria, Sierra Leone and The Gambia moved towards independence. The former RWAFF units formed the basis of the new national armies of their respective states. **In conclusion, 80% of the Nigerian Regiment that formed the basis of the Nigerian army after independence was "Northerners". The purpose of subjugation of southern tribes and territory has been ingrained in their DNA for over a century. |
lemon10:The Chinese behaviour is just human nature. They feel inferior to Caucasians and aim to be like them, but they feel superior to Black people. When I first arrived in UK it was shocking to me how people gave you looks of disgust and sometimes talked down to you. Although I've since come to discover that the UK is much more better than Asia, USA, Australia and Central Europe (in fact it can be argued that UK is the most tolerant non black country in this world for foreigners) the fact still remains that you get a different experience as a black person. I was lucky enough to go back to Nigeria for an extended period after 2 years in the UK. It only took a few weeks for my romanticised nostalgic memory of Nigeria to be smashed to pieces when I experienced certain things around tribe and ethnicity in Nigeria. It became blindingly obvious to me that your experience in Nigeria, and how you view Nigeria, depends on your tribe (especially if you are typical product of that tribe) and where you live, same way that a black person will have different experience in the UK especially if you are typically black. For certain tribes in Nigeria, the more you soften up certain aspects of your tribe ( accent, looks, dressing etc) the less resistance you get from certain Nigerians. Same thing I observed in the UK. Unless you want to spend you entire time in UK in the comfort of the black community, doing certain jobs and conducting certain businesses (legal and illegal) centered around your community, then you probably have to soften certain aspects in order to progress in the UK. Its annoying but its a fact. Basically I concluded that racist behaviour or tribalism is human nature. Some of us by nature are able to mask or dampen it or are not triggered by those things that will make others respond in a racist or tribalistic way to certain things or issues. Some of us have enlightened ourselves out of it. Some of us, through marriage or relationships have been opportuned to see other races or tribes in a different way. For some of us, the love for our fellow human being outshadows any racist or tribalistic inclinations. Having reasoned all the above out, it enabled me to understand (but not condone) the racist behaviour of certain people and the system in the UK when I returned after my extended stay in Nigeria. Just like those in Nigeria, those in the Uk can't help themselves from behaving that way because its human nature that has been reinforced by years of a racist (or tribalistic in the case of Nigeria) narrative by older family members and other people in the community, and a biased media in some instances. Coming to that understanding really improved my state of mind and things really progressed smoothly for me career wise. Also it helped me to understand more the tribalistic behaviour in Nigeria. Most importantly it reinforced my pride and confidence in my own ethnicity. |
