manny4life: One thing I know is our predecessors made mistakes, the current generations will NEVER make same mistakes. Just like other tribes, we have our own ills, but the truth is that other don't wanna tell themselves the truth. Igbos are industrious and hardworking, and more importantly go-getters. Like you said, it's no accident, and that's a reason why they don't wanna build an international airport, nor dredge a proper sea channel or even the roads/bridges they promised. Anyway, we shall get there... By fire or by force. My brother that is why we must hold CURRENT president's feet to fire to deliver that airport. For me, that is the only difference between living in Nigeria and living abroad. No other Nigerian city can contain me. ![]() Let us Igbo men NEVER stop until flights start landing in Enugu. |
manny4life: Man in diapers, eh kwa? That animal is the sickest poster on Nairaland. He is suffering from all kinds of psychosis. |
kingoflag: You sound like the fo.0l you obviously are:This animal can speak Igbo. loool. ![]() Okay, intrepret this one: "A na m esi na ike eri nri kwa ubochi". Please write it in English. ![]() |
kingoflag: You want us to talk about Osu now, or you wanna talk about it later?Have you finished with the insult, man in diapers? lol ![]() If you have, let me know, else I have some baby diapers and wipes to ship your way. ![]() |
I have a feeling that Enugu international airport is going to change the strategic map of Nigeria in no distant time. It is not by accident that only Igboland lacked international access for over 40 years since after the war. I don't want to talk more about this because I have not bought enough land in Enugu yet. ![]() |
manny4life: For the same reason why you can't let them go their own ways is same reason why they leave other places. ![]() |
MegaMan2020: Yet so many igbos live in Ibadan nowadays lol.You expect two different That is the dishonesty I'm talking about. A german and a greek don't behave the same way. A Jew and an Arab behave differently. If you want to take economic/developmental survey, go and conduct a scientific one, not some "who lives more in the other's land" type of survey; which BTW no one has actually done in Nigeria. I am comfortable with the speed of development in Igboland. Igbo travel even to Afghanistan. It doesn't mean they would not return to build the best house in Nigeria right inside their villages. ![]() So, stop trying to yoke us as the same when we are different. We are all just Nigerians by name, nothing more. |
J12: Huh? Are you kidding me?Do you want us to conduct a picture contest between Ibadan, Abeokuta; and Enugu, Owerri? Ask yourself, which western capital city beats Enugu or Owerri? (apart from Lagos that is) This is a contest I would love to have. |
MegaMan2020: I agree. I'll live in any part of Yorubaland..Even the worst part of Ibadan before I live in Aba.I rest my case. Yoruba land may be the worst on earth and you would still see Yoruba staying there. To expect the Igbo to behave like Yoruba is a form of self deceit. |
MegaMan2020: I think Igbos that actually live Igboland need to look at this statement and accept the truth. There's a reason igbos don't want to live in Igboland. Do you see Yorubas and Northerners rushing to live in the East?Lol of course not. But you see Igbos rushing to live in the SW and the North. I see Northerners living in the SW and I see Yorubas living in the North. But I see very few of either living in the East. ASK yourselves why...Throw in a former Federal Capital and you will see them rush there. Even Port Harcourt has a high number of Yoruba there; but having said that, Yoruba only go to places they would survive. That is why they are more in London (the capital of the worlds 15th economy) than in Tokyo (the capital of the worlds third largest economy). So, economic development is not all that Yoruba or Hausa may be looking for. Go figure that first. |
Rhino.5dm:If your assessment of Soludo's political sagacity begins and ends with his loss of Anambra State gubernatorial elections, then you are being naive and almost banal. The man left the CBN and ran for the elections against a very popular incumbent and the most loved Igbo man (Ojukwu), and even an ex governor Ngige who was (still is) very loved in Anambra state. A genius will lose the same elections. Go and read about Lincoln. As for Rochas, I know he would also make a great Nigerian president; so nothing to add there. |
haka_nai: ^^^^^If you lie for long enough you will start to believe the lie, but it doesn't change anything though. Honestly I don't think you have a choice about making an Igbo person Nigeria's president. From my assessment of Nigeria, there is something very positively unique in Igbo basic mindset; please note the "basic" I used there. By that I mean that of all groups in Nigeria, Igbo has the STRONGEST cultural and traditional pull towards justice for all. We call it "egbe belu, ugo belu" --> let the kite perch and let the eagle perch too (translated: live and let live). It is a product of egalitarianism which is unique (considering the population) with Igbo, and it did not start with the advent of Nigeria. It is OLD in Igboland. So, it is trite that an Igbo president would first seek justice and fairness to ALL before trying other strategies. This opinion is not made to change anyone's mind about anything concerning Igbo. Left to me, I am comfortable with internally dominating Nigeria using every devious method (per your and most Nigerian mindset). If we unleash our political rogues unto Nigeria (having been denied our fair shot at Nigerian leadership), wallahi you would wish you never reasoned like you are doing now. RIght now in Igboland, we have the good guys (the Soludos, Nnajis, Okorochas, Ngiges etc), we also have the rogues (the Maduekwes, the Andy Ubas, the Arthur Ezes, etc). No matter what happens in the future, one of the two types of Igbo MUST dominate things at the center. It is given to us by God to excel. Nigeria can choose from either group and we would be just fine. But Nigeria MUST choose; she has NO CHOICE. |
Rhino.5dm:Soludo did not win Anambra because he went against the tide of LOCAL POLITICS. He lost for the same reason Obasanjo lost locally in Ogun state. If he had run under APGA he would have won LOCALLY but he may not win NATIONALLY. I know you know these things. You are smarter than you are presenting yourself, just because you cannot help being tribalistic. Soludo remains BY FAR the best CBN governor in Nigeria's history. Under him, Nigeria was almost about to dominate African finance. He was limited by lack of presidential power. The best genuis on earth will fail without presidential powers in Nigeria; but Soludo's ingenuity still didn't escape notice. I'll be back later. |
PROUD-IGBO:This question deserves a new thread honestly. Has anyone heard anything about them lately? |
PROUD-IGBO:I never thought about it, but bros are you sure that they are using different cameras to take these pictures? You may be right, but lets be sure. I sort of think that the air quality in Nigeria is not regulated, but then again, we don't have enough industries to cause a blurry atmosphere. Maybe we should compare Nigerian images with those of desert-like countries in Northern hemisphere (those with high dust prevalence), and then draw conclusions. |
lagcity: The only people capable of leading Nigeria are the Yoruba. We combine the best qualities of Hausa and Igbos, but possess none of their shortcomings. Yoruba elders say that through wisdom you can tell that a child is going to be great right from childhood. The West Region was far ahead of every other before some ppl (you know yourselves) conspired to imprison Awo. Yoruba will rise again, it is natural and inevitable. Odua, let us get rid of fake Awoists among us. Nobody shld use Awo's name to win votes without performing. The problem with Nigeria is that there is simply too much dishonesty. When I came newly to Nairaland I chose the moniker ONLYTRUTH because I believe that without truth Nigeria is not going anywhere forward. The bolded is not really true because I can tell that by "Western region" you meant Lagos; but Lagos was NOT part of Western region. It was a neutral FEDERAL CAPITAL. Even before Nigeria was formed, Lagos was not part of western region. It was more like a slave returnee location which mingled with Europeans for years before the rest of the country. Calabar would have been a perfect match for Lagos had the capital continued to stay there. Anyway I digress. The point is that apart from Lagos, no other western state beats ANY Eastern state in development. None did it before 1960, and none is doing it today. Remove Lagos from the equation and any fair observer would agree that the East is making Nigeria proud in many ways that the west can only envy, both in development, human and natural resources. Please let's not digress too far from the topic. Tell me who can match Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the west. Abeg no vex. |
The most compelling reason to narrow the search to Igboland is because Nigeria needs to heal and move on, and the idea even becomes most desirable because the region being considered produces some of the finest Nigerian professionals. It is not as if they are asking us to choose from areas with least qualification. So, it is in Nigeria's interest to choose from Igbo the next Nigerian president. Of course Nigeria can also choose otherwise and hope for the best, but let no one become surprised if 50 years from now we are still where we are today. On paper Nigeria's economy has been growing, but I'm not sure it has impacted majority of the citizens. Someone with the TRAINED skills should step in to make that happen. With Nigerian president of Igbo extraction Nigerian kills two birds with one stone. This truth is as solid as titanium. ![]() |
Aigbofa: Let me remind you that none of the people you mentioned ever ran a state before. I therefore I don't understand where you got the idea that any of them would make a great president. You seen to be narrowing the search to a governor (maybe Fashola), typical. ![]() You do not need to be a former Nigerian state governor to perform superbly as president. All you need is a good head on your shoulder and a certain level of patriotism (which brings along honesty, commitment, etc). I believe that one man stands out heads and shoulders above the rest ----> his name is Charles Chukwuma Soludo (ie per the ability to "Refine and Rebrand" Nigeria). Nigeria under a Soludo presidency can leapfrog most nations within 8 years. We can actually have not less than 2 Trillion Dollar economy under Soludo in 8 years. Quote me on that. |
@Vicenzo, You are wasting your explanations bro. They don't need it. In any case, they cannot understand it. Mindset is inherent. Think about how you want to benefit from the Nigerian nation. We Ndigbo have MAJOR stake in it. We should embrace our stake and assume the role God assigned to us. |
@Ow11 @ Ijaw_citizen I often wonder why some of you ogogoro drinking, fish brained folks like to talk about Biafra war loss as if it is your nirvana. A careful research would indicate that since the end of the war, your swamps have been the butt of the nation, producing nothing except what is underground, placed there by God, OWNED BY ALL NIGERIANS. Please try to compare East central state (the 1967 Gowonian/Diete spiff Igbo state) to your parts of SS. It is self evident that Ndigbo have benefitted by FAR more from your "Igbo war loss" than you.lol. Now imagine what Ndigbo shall benefit from your loss in the future, which is certain because all it takes for that to happen is for Igbo to make good with other major tribes in Nigeria. Like I said before, you don't need us and we don't need you. We are fine, thank you! It is in my interest to be a CORE Nigerian now. BTW I will campaign to ensure that no Igbo supports Jonathan post 2015, because the tail does not wag the dog. ![]() He can hand over to any person (except Ijaw of course, lol) in Nigeria. We Ndigbo have survived A WAR; we also survived some of the most anti-Igbo heads of state in Nigeria, and we still managed to dominate and rule over you virtually; so we shall survive. Imagine what we will do to you when we have FULLY EMBRACED YOUR MINDSET. Be afraid my friend. ![]() |
@Negro, I believe I have made my point about Ijaw being my least concern. So, I'm moving on. ![]() |
Dudu_Negro: lmao@onlytruth.You have exhibited the highest level of ignorance of Nigerian internal groupings. Anyway, the main reason I chose them is because they are uniquely positioned as Igbo with special links and understanding with Edo/Ishan/Urhobo ( I particularly like those groups). As for the second bolded, it has happened before. I personally believe that someone from these groups other than Anioma (for being Igbo) should lead such revolution, and then use the smartest military mind around to create a nation out of west Africa. It is possible over a period of time. The idea is not tribalist; so stop thinking about Igbo this, Yoruba that. |
Dudu_Negro: which boys, your insane brothers plotting coup or ojukwu boys planting foreign flag in peoples land?In my book, they were only insane because they did not completely conquer and forcefully unite west Africa. They didn't even complete a local coup. lol Nna I don't have time for insane fixation on ONE issue. You can stay there and wait for who is interested to argue with you on your favorite Igbo/Yoruba chicken fights. It ain't me bro. ![]() |
Dudu_Negro: we shall see how pro nigerian you are in 2015.Let me tell you the groups I need in Nigeria to do what I want. I need Anioma Igbo, Urhobo, Edo/Ishan, Igala, Benue state, Plateau state, and parts of Taraba state. Then I would add the core North afterwards (much later). The rest of Nigerians will follow whereever we head in the conquest quest. Nigeria needs an identity. There is none yet. I don't see why we should be carrying the military burden of west Africa, yet we don't rule them. ![]() Anyway, this is just an illustration for you. As you can see, Ijaw is my least concern. |
Dudu_Negro: you see, fear suck your tongue you no fit call the "y" word. coward!I don't want to be tied down to an assinine location that achieves nothing. You want to start another nonsense exchange; dude this is 2013. I am angry that those boys did not conquer Yorubaland, and then move to the North and also conquer it, and then continue till they conquered west Africa, defeating any foreign force that intervenes in the process. Nigeria needs men like me. ![]() |
Dudu_Negro: onlytruth,Ijaw does not need protection from anybody. I believe that Nigeria needs protection, but the way it happens is what is debatable. I no longer support ( I have since stopped anyway) the disintegration of Nigeria. I believe that Nigeria can do BIG things if a guy with balls show up at Aso rock. Let me just say this. I don't know why it has not happened yet, but I personally believe that Nigeria needs a true visionary revolutionary who would rule by decree and forcefully conquer and assimilate (one country after the other) the whole of the African continent, or at least the whole of west Africa. Call me a mad man, but I am entitled to my hubris, afterall is it not in Nairaland that a minority tribe of about 4 million, became a tribe of 14 million, thanks to Abagworo's statistics. lol ![]() |
Dudu_Negro: onlytruth,My friend what are you yapping about? I am saying my mind as ordinary Nigerian citizen. You can treat Ijaw any way you like, afterall you are the parasite, not Moi. ![]() I don't depend on any oil from anywhere. I am determined to knock it into any concerned Ijaw ear that everyone is for himself in Nigeria, and I love it that way. ![]() |
Abagworo: I do give a fvck about us all. It is my individual view and not Igbo view. Anybody calling my view an "igbo view" is only trying to make me a mouthpiece of the entire Igbos which I'm not. Nigerians are generally insane in my understanding because they seem to attach tribe to everything including when an individual makes a personal observation. For example when I condemned Peter Obi's decision of refusing to borrow and work, some people from Anambra started attacking Imo State. I did not condemn Peter Obi as a man nor Anambra but Peter Obi's action and I am not the mouthpiece of Imo State either.Nobody said you were speaking for Ndigbo. Duh! ![]() You are speaking for yourself, but the people you are speaking about (Ijaw) see you as another Igbo trying to tell them how to solve their own problems. Your argument is very hollow my friend, and we have seen it before. We saw it in January 1966 when some deluded young Igbo officers thought they had to come to the rescue of another tribe, and in the process only attracted mass murder to the rest of their own brothers Ndigbo. I bet you that when they were planning that coup, they were thinking exactly like you. They thought they were acting for themselves as Nigerians, but the rest of us died (and are still being suspected by other Nigerians) because of it. So, I have every right as an individual Igbo son to call you to order. I speak for MYSELF. I am no longer Eze, remember. ![]() |
joeluv: Opi nsukka road asphalt worksI can smell the fresh air from here! Igboland; my beautiful Igboland! ![]()
|
Abagworo: I am only a Nigerianist and if you also observe, I am a defender of Igbo when we are attacked by anybody. I am pro-Igbo and pro-Nigeria. I love justice and equity. Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw or whatever we call them are not one people in any way. We all existed as different people bearing the names of our different groups until recent years started by the coming of the white men. The Ijaw I wrote about existed as different groups too. Same with Yoruba and Igbo.My friend stop this inane line of trying to change the issue. I can almost bet you that you are not more pro-Nigeria than myself. In my hometown, I bet you that you will struggle to find anything other than hardcore Nigerians there because Nigeria favors us a whole lot. We can spread our wings to all the nooks of Nigeria and make hay FULLY; so stop this self deceiving habit of trying to paint yourself more Nigerian than even those with arguably bigger stake in it. lol I am only incensed of the fact that you find more time to muddle into Ijaw Nigerian problems more than the Ijaw themselves. It brings shame to the rest of us who share "Igbo" with you. I'm saying all these to at least let the Ijaw know that most of us Igbo don't give a flying fk about their problems in Nigeria. They should solve them by themselves. They don't need us, and we don't need them either. lol. After Jonathan, (whose actions have been more Igbo than Ijaw), we shall all return to our natural habitats. ![]() |
^^ You have an email Eze nwanyi. Happy new year! |
