PoliticsRe: Nigerian Warplanes Head To Mali by Onlytruth(m): 4:48pm On Jan 17, 2013
Dede1: It is unfortunate Africa is filled to the brink with jackasses such as you. The northern Malian freedom fighters seek for self-determination and independent of northern Mali as a republic. It is a trend no colonial master can stop. Next top will be Nigeria when Boko Haram gets its acts together.
Bros are you sure that those groups only seek self determination? If that is all they seek, why hasn't BH issued any statement declaring their part of Northern Nigeria independent? Why are they trying to kill as many innocent people as possible even while they seek to forcefully convert people in their paths of attack?

I support the rights to self determination by ANY group. That is a UN legal position. Until I see a firm evidence (like a simple press release) that BH wants Borno or the North even to secede from Nigeria, they remain TERRORISTS IMHO.

ocelot2006: The Nigerian Airforce manufactures UAVs. Read up on the AMEBO I and II.
I know about those drones. Those are not what I have in mind, lol, but I admit that our fed gov should be commended for even thinking along that line at all, knowing how backward Nigeria has been in many things.

I agree with this comment below though:

naptu2: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step.
Those steps should be expedited by massive federal funding, because the world is getting more dangerous by the day.
21 century will be a century of wolves. We need to keep ourselves free.

naptu2: By the way, in terms of domestic production of our military needs, the Jonathan admin seems to be doing that (although the policy was started by Obasanjo's admin).

DICON has built an armoured car and the navy has built a shore patrol vessel. I hope the policy is continued bu subsequent administrations (don't want a repeat of the air beetle experience).
hehe. Is it those things I could assemble in my own backyard? lol. cheesy
I'm talking about DRONES and other aircrafts, envisioned, conceptualized, and modelled in ways that are very unique to Africa and our fighting strengths.
I'm talking about weapons that can give us advantage over any other nation.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Warplanes Head To Mali by Onlytruth(m): 4:10pm On Jan 17, 2013
A quick point I want to add is that it can be almost guaranteed that the terrorists in Mali will inevitably head to Nigeria to support BH sometime in the future if Nigeria does not throw the kitchen sink at them NOW. The semi arid Maghreb region is a den of terror waiting to spread.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Warplanes Head To Mali by Onlytruth(m): 4:07pm On Jan 17, 2013
I believe that Nigerian military should have been in Mali looooooooooooooooooong time ago because that is where BH is getting some of their trainings in terror.

Having said that, I also think that Nigeria needs to seriously think about LOCAL weapons development. Knowing how clever some Nigerians can be, I have no doubt that we can come up with world beaters in weapons if we apply our minds to it.

BTW I also think that Nigeria should be in the Congo DR and maintain a PERMANENT base there, because that country is too strategic to be left to Rwandan whims (a little off topic though).
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Wont Break Up - Jonathan by Onlytruth(m): 6:48am On Jan 16, 2013
nagoma: There are many people opposing the break up and they are from all over Nigeria and mainly for selfish reasons. It is your assumption that Northern leaders oppose the braking up of Nigeria( unless you can bring evidence) . Jonathan is giving you his opinion here. There are many of us hoping and working for a separate North.
Why do I find this VERY HARD TO BELIEVE.

In any case, I think that your write up here is full of lies, inacuracies, propaganda and pure rants.

nagoma: You are wrong my friend;

Oil is a natural resource that is in vogue and extremely valuable within the last 2 centuries because fossil fuel is used to drive engines. There are numerous other natural and equally precious resources obtained from the land. But you have to have the land first before finding out what it may contain. Land on its own is a natural recourse of profound importance after all it is the pieces of land joined together that make the world. We all know the importance of land and what misery and conflicts arise from lack of it. My Igbo friends are well aware of the importance of land. The deadly land war that claimed 50 lives in Ebonyi state last August is a recent reminder to how precious land is to people.
I will remind you that the north has an abundance of this resource. Oyo state is the state with the largest land area among the southern states but its 28.454 sq km places it at no. 14 in Nigeria with the first 13 coming from the North and Niger state (76.363sqkm) is 2.6 times the size of Oyo state and 10 times the size of the largest Igbo state –Enugu (7.161sqkm). The entire 5 Igbo states amount to only half the size of Borno state. Compare the ratio of population per sq meter for the agricultural state of Kwara 64.4 persons per sq meter to that of Anambra State 863.3 persons per sq meter even before they all move back there.
The total landmass of igboland ( the five Igbo states is less than half the area of Borno state ( which is not the largest northern states) the largest of the 19 northern states is 10 times the size of the largest Igbo state ( Enugu state) . The population density in most northern states is around 50 - 80 persons per sq km compared to 800 persons per sq km in Anambra state even before the 10 million or so Igbos that are in the north return home after the peaceful division. Agreed that much of the land in the north is arid but much of the land in the south suffers from soil leaching and gulley erosion and does not support agriculture. The most important natural resource that the north has is land. To have any other mineral resources now or in the future you must first of all have the land, and we know that there is no northern state that has no confirmed mineral deposits,, Iron ore lead and zinc in Benue, Uranium, lead and Zinc in Bauchi, Copper and glass in Kano, Tin columbite and tantalite in plateau, Sapphire, aqua marine, gold etc in Kaduna. Gold and lead in Sokoto kebbi and zamfara. All of you know the crude gold mining going on especially in Niger and Zamfara states. ETC.And with the presence of oil in Southern Nigeria, In the cameroun ,in Niger Republic, in Chad ,in Ghana and other places one would not be surprised if oil is found in parts of the vast expanse of land of the North.
If you have no land ,then forget about minerals and forget about big agriculture ( you may have small gardens here and there). Anybody in doubt about the importance of land - go and ask the israelis, the white and black south Africans, the Zimbabwean whites and blacks, the Kharijan of india, the Palestinians , the argentinians in relation to Malvinas ( falkland island).
The north must be given the chance to use it's land profitably , in mining in agriculture and in industry. Partners in development like the Chinese , the malaysians and south Americans are welcome. Igbo traders , if they have valid visas , will compete with all for their original shops in all markets. A system based on honesty , justice and mutual respect will be built in Arewa and 2 state religions Christianity and Islam will guide our morality , ethics and etiquette. the south can do what they chose to do and we believe they will be good neighbors. My proposed oil for food project is still an important pipeline plan and fellow NAiralanders who may be closer to oil should scribble this somewhere in their notepads. It will happen earlier than you expected. NORTH FOR NORTHERNERS AND SOUTH FOR SOUTHERNERS- AND PERMANENT is my daily prayer, I wish the President will openly work towards it.
I notice that you (true to type) did everything to skew the logic to your advantage:

First you posit that Igboland is tiny.
Second, you make it seem as if empty lands ever made any country rich.
Pray tell me why USA is richer than Canada, even though Canada is bigger; and so many examples all over the world.

I have stopped wishing that Nigeria divides (for a completely different reason), but you guys should stop all these lies because it is getting to ad nauseum levels.
Igbo land is about 10% developed. Go to Enugu "The Pride of the East" and see pure virgin lands everywhere.

Stop the lies bro, or I will go back to "Egypt". wink

You cannot kill a lesser evil while leaving the bigger evil intact.
PoliticsRe: Soludo May Be Charged Soon - EFCC by Onlytruth(m): 6:06am On Jan 16, 2013
There is no other reasonable way to view this than political vendetta from the very top of Nigerian government. Only a goat would think this has anything to do with Anambra local politics. EFCC only answers to the federal government.

Why did EFCC keep quiet all these years since Soludo left office?
Why now that 2015 PRESIDENTIAL elections are coming, and people with such ambitions are having "night meetings", that EFCC would suddenly wake up from the dead?
I honestly hope that Jonathan is not planning another run because I can't see where he will get the votes.

One of the reasons I have converted to a STAUNCH One Nigerianist these days is because I have become convinced that oppression needs to go round THOROUGHLY in Nigeria before truth can be allowed to prevail.

Imagine the BEST CBN governor in Nigeria's history being tarnished just because of ambitions of people leading us into the ground.
What goes round will inevitably come round.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Wont Break Up - Jonathan by Onlytruth(m): 5:10pm On Jan 14, 2013
Mr President,

I used to be one of your staunchest supporters here in Nairaland. I stopped supporting you at the end of last year as I promised because you failed to fulfill a few of your campaign promises. I still consider you my brother (read between the lines).

Your current remark is a very familiar line of betraying words used to ensure that none of Nigeria's big issues are addressed.
It is a known fact that Northern Nigeria dominates Nigeria's political/military infrastructure. It is also a fact that North is MORTALLY afraid of Nigeria's disintegration.
Combine these two known facts, one concludes (quite easily), that your latest statement is only pandering to the North, and nothing more.
It addresses NONE of the debilitating political realities of Nigeria.

Mr President, you used a "marriage" to qualify Nigeria; but pray sir, which marriage survives a parental conspiracy to kill approx 25% of the children?
Which marriage survives a constant death of children on YEARLY basis, be it as a result of direct parental action, or gross negligience?
Which marriage CONSTANTLY sacrifices children born to the marriage and still survives?

Do normal human being still accord recognition to such marriage as normal?

Sir, all patriotic Nigerians know, that Nigeria is suffering from a structural problem from which she cannot survive, rather more citizens will die for YEARS to come.
Isn't it trite to conclude that Nigeria needs nothing more than IMMEDIATE structural change, for peace and progress to return and endure in Nigeria?

Sir, the future will not look kindly on you if you do not IMMEDIATELY initiate action to solve Nigeria's structural problem. More importantly, GOD will hold you personally accountable for any future political murder in Nigeria, and all other deaths stemming from national failure.

2015 is just another year. Nothing more.

Foreign AffairsRe: FULANI - The Scourge Of Africa by Onlytruth(m): 8:44pm On Jan 13, 2013
anti9JA: FULANI - a sarcastic abbreviation for Forceful Utilization of Land/Lies Against Native Indigenes.

Who Are The Fulanis?:
Fulanis are nomadic and predatory tribe that have successfully utilized Arab culture, islam, manipulation etc to justify vicious and unending campaigns against African tribes since 1804. By 1972, Fulanis of various hues are controlling 80% of governments in West Africa. That is why a typical fulani will defend any euro-arab colonial creation in Africa like Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria and Mauritania where a black person can still be purchased as a slave today!

Where is their ancestral land?:
India, according to Flora Shaw who later became Lady Lugard in her 1906 publication "Tropical Dependency". From India they entered Africa through Ethiopia and from their they circulated round Africa. The Fulani word for 'God' is JOMIRAO and not ALLAH of the Arab culture, hence they always promote Indian culture alongside Arab culture throughout Nigeria. In fact the Suffix 'RAO' is a common name in India. All indigenous tribes in Africa know their ancestral land. Where is the Fulani land in Africa? The answer is NOWHERE therefore a rootless tribe of nomadic group will be ruthless, because there will be no restraint based on anything other than a licensed Arab religio-cultural tradition called ISLAM. In their manipulative way, they even coined the deceptive term 'Hausa-Fulani' whereas the correct term should be Fulani-Arab since there is no compound tribe in the world, you are either German or French not German-french, Yoruba or Calabar, not Yoruba-calabar. The correct term should be FULANI ARAB just like SHUWA-ARAB, BEDOUIN ARAB etc
======
Fulani-arab are responsible for the largest slave economy the world has ever seen (Prof. Lovejoy), the destruction of thousands of tribes in Africa, Uthman Dan Fodio, A jet-black Fulani initiated the largest slave-trade economy of the black people. Fulani don't want dialogue and restructure of any type (So forget a genuine sovereign national conference but Fulani prefer amalgamation which they always call one indivisible unity). They are the only tribe that always rewrite it history periodically. Fulanis are the arrow-head of the 19th century fulani Arab-jihad which include groups from Turkey, Middle-east and India e.g. the Dantatas, the Dangotes, etc i.e. the descendants of the Tatas and Gotes of India, that is why Nigeria officialdom will never antagonize anything India or Arab in nature. That is also why it is easy for a Fulani-arab like Shehu Shagari to label indigenous, non-islamic West-african tribes as 'Alien'

NOTE: The 19th century Jihad is so total in it genocidal approach such that hundreds of African tribes were annihilated. This Jihad still continues today in various form in Nigeria, perpetual stifling of the indigenous natives. A single Fulani Arab in a strategic political, economic, religious, etc position will initiate instability among the African tribes because it serves as alternative means for the waging of Jihad. Example are:

Ahamdu Bello
Forceful conversion of other tribes like the Tivs, Yorubas etc to Islam through political and military means. The railroading into jail of Awolowo and the entire mainstream political class of the Yoruba race via a dubious treasonable felony. No Fulani Arab has ever been accused of treason in Nigeria!.

Muritala Mohammed - Disorganised the entire civil service by violating civil service rule (boko-haram method) by dismissing civil servants and then paving the way for influx of quota-system favouring elements from Arab emirates of West Africa and their local agents. He also unilaterally moved the capital from the unIslamic Lagos enclave to the Fulani Arab emirate of Abubakr Jatao aka Abuja forming the basis of induced poverty in Nigeria today through trillions of accountable dollars that are being spent on an unsolicited new capital. This jihadist put all native lands under Federal Government whose compositions has always been 60% northerners military or civil.

Alhaji Shehu Shagari - predicted by Ahamdu Bello in 1963 that he would become future president and it came to pass (Fulani Arab manipulations). He initiated perpetual darkness/electrical blackouts in Nigeria by giving excuse that a snake chewed to pieces NEPA/PHCN main cable.

Muhamadu Buhari & Tunde Idiagbon (Fulani adopting Yoruba name)
Implemented draconian and al-Qaeda type of government in Nigeria through coup d'état. These deadly duos also insisted that the only person responsible for black-market business was Fela Anikulapo Kuti, claiming they never saw anybody from the Fulani Arab emirates of Nigeria selling Naira and Dollars on the streets. Fela was eventually jailed for five years! They also initiated the camel passing through the eye of the needle by allowing a Fulani Arab Emir of Gwandu to pass 53 suit-cases through the custom when the diplomatic bags of great countries like USA, France, UK etc were been searched when Nigeria was changing to a new currency. Their War Against Indiscipline (WAI) restricted indigenous hawkers from selling their markets around their communities but the same WAI was powerless against landless Fulani Arabs cattle rearers who are still causing instability and damage in various localities.

Babangida - manipulations include unilateral joining of Nigeria to the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Countries). Unilateral cancellation of the freest election Nigeria has ever held - June 12, 1993. The resultant chaos is still with us till now. NALDA policy pegged financial assistance to farmers in Nigeria to anyone with at least 1,200 acres. This policy effectively excluded farmers from the south.

Govt. Muhammad Marwa of Lagos State - Shutting down of three precious secondary schools in Ebute Metta, Lagos State and then dedicating the schools to habitats of lepers, diseased ridden beggars from the Fulani Arab emirates of West Africa. Incidentally that was nothing but Boko-haram in its infancy i.e. the rejection of so called western education to the various non-islamic African tribe residing in Lagos.

Aliko Dangote - silent sustenance of boko-haram policies of trivializing westernized PhD degree holders as truck drivers whereas PhD holder in Islamic studies are not employed as truck drivers.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi - Is not apologetic about in promoting Arab culture - Islamic banking. The same jihadist will NEVER support any indigenous traditional banking like ESUSU.

Alhaji Alhaji Alhaji
The longest serving civil servant in Nigeria, from his name shows that these are truly visitors in our land.

Those who remember instabilities and manipulations caused by this predatory group may contribute to this article.
Interesting observations.

I have since concluded that Anambra people are not into photographing of roads and other developments in Anambra state.
I came to that conclusion after seeing what I saw in Anambra.
Maybe if we have someone like Spyder880 in Anambra, he may take it upon himself to showcase Anambra in pictures.

Having said these, no reasonable person should expect Anambra state to become like states with OLD capitals anytime soon.
Rural road development in Anambra is a GREAT move to stem heavy rural-urban migration.

I believe that Anambra may soon have the same accessibility as Lagos state going by how the governor is building rural roads.

Isn't it ironic that the same people who violently reject the idea that Peter Obi is working, sighting the lack of picture proof from those who believe he is working, FAILED themselves to post pictures proving their points? lol undecided

The only critic that attempted to post some negative pictures resorted to posting antiquated pictures taken from years back.
One of Peter Obi's critics here (Abagworo ) who happens to know Nnewi well, has attested to the fact that "Nkwo triangle" is wearing a different look now.
I have a VIDEO proof of long drives I undertook in Anambra, and I will keep it until I have time to snap pictures out of it to post here.

Meanwhile, the more these people lash out at Obi without any picture proof, the more I'm convinced that if I produce my own pictures, they would poopoo it by all means, because they have already decided to play unfair with Obi. That type of "sense enwero isi" cannot snare nwa Anaedo. cool

I will try to post some shots from video clips later tomorrow. Having said that, I don't understand why some people are still going off point and wanting Anambra to become Abuja overnight. This is a state that had NOTHING as of 10 years ago until Ngige started building roads. Today, I marvel at how Anambra is feeling more like some of the old regional capitals in terms of roads and accessibility.
Like I said before, the next Anambra governor may only come to paint and mark roads. If he is more ambitious of course, he may start work on major projects like international airport and the seaport at Onitsha.
Anambra is truly blessed to have had a governor who tried to develop ALL sectors (and LGAs ) simultaneously. He has not been perfect, but I feel by far more bullish about living in Anambra state now than about 5 years ago. I can now get around the whole state in a matter of few hours. That is new.

Igbo gadi: Is good to hear that peter Obi tarred the major roads in Anambra, but isn’t what he was elected to do at the first place? One of the most important question to ask him is how many job has his administration has created? In general this how we should rate our governors, Roads, water and electricity are the basic things government should provide to is citizen.
Please don’t get me wrong fixing the roads is good but people also need a job to survive, if there is a job there will be a less crime on the street.
I have always been under the impression that Anambra people are not too much hung up on "jobs". What we have always wanted or needed are GOOD ROADS AND ELECTRICITY.
We can create the jobs by ourselves. Governments don't create jobs anyway.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Of Anambra State Is Working, At Least On Roads by Onlytruth(op): 4:15am On Jan 11, 2013
afam4eva: I really didn't follow Ngige's administration but you have to consider the time Ngige spent there. The reason why some folks seem to be calling Ngige back is based on the fact that he did what he did in his very short stint as governor. Peter Obi on the other hand has spent 8 solid years and all he can show for it are rural roads.
I would have posted VIDEOS of the roads as I drove, but I don't know if I want to do that here.
I will try to post pictures clipped from the video later when I have time.

But I challenge any Anambra person here to post pictures of CURRENT roads in their villages or towns. That would help us mount pressure on the governor to continue his great job.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Of Anambra State Is Working, At Least On Roads by Onlytruth(op): 4:11am On Jan 11, 2013
afam4eva: You can't say a governor is working after alluding that it's mainly roads that he has built and those roads are roads connecting the country side.

I also want to believe that Peter Obi has done well in building rural roads even though these roads are camera shy. But that's not a reason whyy we should give him a pass mark. He's left other things unattended to. If Peter Obi was ruling an Ebonyi, i would have given him a pass mark but this is Anambra we're talking about and Anambra is not a state where you build roads and we'll see he has performed.

Really, i can't wait for Obi's tenure to be over so that a more ambitious governor will take over.
Bros but I stated specifically that I was talking about roads, the ones I could see with my eyes. I also stated that the roads are not marked and wondered why.
But in general, Anambra state never had this much rural roads before now; that is the point I'm making.
If I didn't see these roads, I wouldn't even know that they have been tarred. If I were to go by Nairaland criticisms I would have thought that he didn't even build roads.

Personally I've been wondering why Anambra people here don't make stronger case in defense of this man despite his achievements, even if only roads, though I know he did more than roads.

Nna I can drive tarred roads from Onitsha all the way to my compound in Nnewi. If that is not achievement I wonder what is. cheesy cheesy

It is good that when our leaders are working, we should say so and encourage them. I saw first hand that Anambra state roads are now mostly tarred. It was not like that in the last few years.
Admitted they are not marked, but they are tarred. Speaking of marking, I wonder how expensive it is to mark roads!! undecided
Nevertheless, I saw smooth roads running round remote parts of Anambra state. I can boldly state that by the time he leaves office next year, he will be leaving behind a state with high accessibility. I can now drive round Anambra state without worrying much about bad roads. The most notable bad roads in Anambra now are the federal roads -Onitsha/Enugu, and Oba/Okigwe.

Maybe our next governor will only be marking roads! lol grin

Kudos Obi!
