The diplomatic relationship between the Republic of China and the United States further suffered a set back as China as it orders the closure of the United States Consulate in retaliation of the US closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston, thereby deepening the diplomatic face-off between both countries.
This has been interpreted as a tit-for-tat escalation by international and diplomatic affairs analysts between both countries. The US had earlier accused China of spy activities and undermining its security and intelligence apparatus.
It would be recalled that the US had earlier ordered the closure of China’s consulate and accused of it of spy activities in the United states. ‘Today China is increasingly authoritan at home and more aggressive in its hostility to freedom everywhere else. The free world must triumph over this new tyranny ‘.

The musical maestro Oladapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj has been cleared of any rape accusations by the Police after his accuser Seyitan Babatayo withdrew her rape accusations.

In a letter dated July 17 2020 and addressed to the Inspector General of Police through her lawyer, Seyitan said she was withdrawing from the case based on personal reasons.

In a swift response, the Human Rights Group Stand To End Rape Initiative (STER), said the accuser, Seyitan decided to end the case on her own volition without any monetary inducement or compensation.

The Police through the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin) Umar Sarida said investigations had been discontinued due to lack of evidence.

Meanwhile, D’banj had denied all allegations and sued her for defamation up to the sum of N1.5 billion.

In a surprise move against the People Democratic Party , (PDP), the former speaker Yakubu Dogara has reportedly dumped the PDP again and moves to his former party APC which he left prior to the 2019 elections.

Gana died after a brief illness. Reacting to the news of his dead, President Buhari in a statement on Tuesday mourned the dead of his friend and political ally. Fidelity bank Plc has today notified the general public and the Nigerian Stock Exchange of the appointment of Mrs Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe as the bank’s incoming Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1,2021.

The British royal family has come under heavy attack as the Duke and Duchess of cambridge William and Kate have been told ” to go off” and earn their own income due to the cost of maintaining their lifestyles.
Graham Smith the organization’s CEO told Express.co.uk that the UK does not owe the Duke and Duchess an income or role. Mr Smith claimed “The monarchy in general costs a lot more than the royal household admits to.”It is about £345million from the taxpayer every year, it needs to be stripped right back.
“We do not owe Prince William and Kate an income, we do not owe them a role, we don’t owe them anything.They can go off and do their own thing.”
In his advise, he stated that ” the monarchy is there to give us one person and that is the head of state,the Queen. The costs should be stripped away so that we can save that £345 million and just provided us with a head of state who will be supported by a small office.

Wonders they say shall never end. It was a case of two best friends working in a factory in Edo state.

Both of them had been a long time close friends sharing things together and disclosing information between each other, because of the trust they have built between each other over the years, that was how Abuchi Wisdom Nwachukwu was beheaded by his friend Moses after he informed the latter of the sum of money his elder brother had transferred into his account to the tune of N13 million in his account balance.

Nwachukwu who is a native of Isiala-Mbano, Imo state was allegedly hacked to death by Moses on January 7 2020 during a night shift in a pure water factory in Auchi, Edo state by his friend, and took hold of his ATM card and phone.

Not only did Moses killed his friend, he went ahead to behead him and dump the headless body in a near by bush close to the factory.

After getting rid of Nwachukwu, Moses went ahead to connive with internet fraudsters who assisted him with the ATM to liquidate Nwachukwu’s account with the sum of N2.2 million. And later started using POS machine to effect transfers other transfers.

Trouble started for Moses when Nwachukwu’s elder brother in South Africa wrote to the IGP notifying him of his brother’s sudden disappearance and whereabouts, and the Police quickly swung into action. It was gathered that few weeks into the investigation, the Police was able to trace some transactions from Nwachukwu’s account to Moses account and the latter was later traced to an hotel in Auchi where he has been hiding and was arrested.

Upon his arrest, Moses confessed to have killed his friend Nwachukwu and also led the Police team to some suspected internet fraudsters Yusuf Sagiru, Tony Bright, and Terrence Okochukwu including a businessman Jahswill Ogbonanya who assisted him in defrauding his late friend.

Upon continuous interrogation, Moses a 27 year old native of Auch admitted that his friend’s ghost has been chasing and hunting him ever since he killed him.

Be careful of friends you keep around and information you disclose.
Be prayerful.

The embattled and suspended Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, who was recently granted bail on self-recognition, on the directive of the presidential panel investigating corruption allegations against him, has for the first time in running to 2 weeks spoke out to the public and revealed that the allegations against him are fabricated and his detention a case of dog-eat-dog.

Magu said this after his release from detention on Wednesday, adding that his current ordeal is one of the risks of the job of fighting against corrupt persons. He further urged Nigerians not to give up on the fight, saying President Muhammadu Buhari must be supported to eradicate corruption in the country.

“They should not be discouraged. I am happy to be back, I believe the war against corruption is winnable. They should not give up on the fight because corruption kills a nation faster than any other thing. “It is not a personal fight. Whether I am EFCC Chairman or not, the anti-corruption war must continue.” On the allegations against him, he said: “The allegations are merely trumped-up allegations to tarnish my image and that of the EFCC. I did not steal or divert or convert funds to private use. I read the allegations and I was shocked.”
Magu has been under detention for 10 days before he was granted bail on personal recognition.

Mr. Magu who have been detained at the Force Criminal Investigations Department, FCID, for 10 days in the first place.

Okonjo-Iweala gets more boost in her journey to secure the exalted position at the World Trade Centre as the Federal Government has thrown its weight behind her as it has inaugurated her campaign team to provide technical support and also financial backing with technical expertise that would be needed including high level lobbying and other logistics.

It was a rude shock today, as the Twitter accounts of prominent global citizens and big corporate organizations the world over were hacked and compromised in a bitcoin related transactions and deal swaps.

Prominent individuals who were affected by this scandalous act were Former President Barack Obama, Former vice president and presidential hopeful, Joe Biden, Kanye West, Elon Musk, and Apple, Uber, Warren Buffet, Wiz Khalifa,Kim Kadedashian, CashApp and Uber, were also among those hijacked.

Some undentidied scammers and fraudsters were said to have broken cyber protocols and hacked into their twitter accounts and laying siege to sensitive information and files, all in a bid to carry out fraudulent transactions which involve swapping and transferring bitcoins worth millions of dollars in order to defraud people of their fund. This act is regarded as cryptocurrency scam, where scammers posted the same message and promised users who give Bitcoin to an account listed in the tweets get double their payments.

The tweets read’ I am giving back to the community,all Bitcoin sent to the address below will be sent back doubled. If you send $1000, I will send back $2000. Only doing this for 30 minutes’ .

As at 6:54pm EST, the scammers appeared to have received 355 donations netting 12.86131944 BTC , which totals $118,365.30.
Details of this cyberattack and cyber security breach are yet to be unravel as reports are still sketchy.

The embattled former acting chairman of the Economic and Financisl Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, on Monday appeared before the presidential panel led by Justice Ayo Salami for the second week has been accused conducting forex transactions as the acting chairman of the EFCC in a current report submitted by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit.

A popular church on the outskirts of Johannesburg called Pentecostal Holiness International Church has come under attack by gun men suspected to be a splinter group from the church as a result of a leadership crisis from dating as far back as 2016.

Reports have it that about 5 people have been reportedly killed in the attack. So far police have arrested about 40 people in connection to this crime incidence that took place on Saturday. And have deployed police personnel around the church premises to forestall an escalation.

The crisis was said to have begun since the former leader died in 2016, and a similar shooting was reportedly carried out in 2018. Millions of rand ($6.5m and £5m) are said to be missing.

The church currently boasts of an estimated membership of 3 million.

A popular blogger who is based in America and goes by the name Jackson Ude has incurred the wrath of the Vice President of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osibanjo who is demanding the probe of the blogger for alledging that the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, currently facing a presidential probe panel reveqled to the investigative panel that he gave Osibanjo N4bn.

The VP has through his attorney, Bayo Osipitan, written a petition to the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu, demanding the probe of the blogger. The petition dated 8 July, 2020 titled ‘Criminal Defamation of the the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof.Yemi Osibanjo (SAN),GCON by Jackson Ude’.

Meanwhile, the special assistant to the VP , Mr Laolu Akande has debunked the stories being carried by the blogger and other social media (but rnot dambela), stated stated categorically that the VP did not receive any of such money, that the articles were defamatory and capable of bringing him to ridicule before members of the public.

It was all tears as world renowned cojoined twins Ronnie and Donnie Galyon were announced dead. They died on Saturday at age 68.

Dave Galyon, who is their brother announced their death in a Facebook post Saturday morning that his brothers had died that morning which was also confirmed by the Montogomery County Coroner's Office.

The Dayton community followed the brother's lives since their birth. Donnie was first to come on 28-10- 1951, with Ronnie surprising everyone minutes later with his very literal connection to his brother at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Dayton. Following the recent call by the ruling party, APC to probe some prominent members of the People Democratic Party, PDP, the party has fired back at the APC calling its comment for probe as irresponsible and reckless and demands an apology.

It would be recalled that during the build up to the 2019 general election, some members of the PDP always converge in Dubai to hold its meeting and to strategise and probably had cause to take a photograph with some Nigerians outside the shores on one occasion or the other, including Hushpuppi who was arrested in Dubai and extradited to the United states,but the PDP had since distanced itself from any of such allegations and criticized the APC led government and the EFCC for doing nothing while the said Hushpuppi was flaunting his wealth, but rather looked the other way till the FBI and Dubai police came after him.

The World Health Organization yesterday rejected the use Hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir/ritonavir drugs for the treatment of the pandemic corona virus and stated that it has henceforth discontinued the use of these drugs as it failed the result of the interim trial which showed that the drugs produced little or no reduction in mortality of hospitalized covid-19 patients when compared to standard of care.

The World Health Org. stated that The International Steering Committee formulated the recommendation in light of the evidence for hydroxychloroquine vs standard-of-care and for lopinavir/ritonavir vs standard-of-care from the Solidarity trial interim results, and from a review of the evidence from all trials presented at the 1-2 July, WHO Summit on COVID-19 research and innovation saying, it has “accepted the recommendation” from the International Steering Committee to discontinue the trial for hydroxychloroquine, as well as HIV/AIDS medications lopinavir and ritonavir, because they failed to reduce COVID-19 mortality.

Nigerian former minister of finance and a former Managing Director of the World Bank has been tipped by many stakeholder powerful countries to emerge the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, which will be vacated in August by Brazil’s Roberto Azevêdo.

She is contesting the powerful position of the World Trade Organisation with other influential personalities in world global economic affairs among who are She is ranged against Mexico’s Jesús Seade Kuri and Egypt’s Abdel-Hamid Mamdouh who pack equally intimidating credentials in the international finance system with widespread experience in the processes of the World Bank, WTO, General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, GATT, among others.

It would be recalled that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, in 2012 vied for the presidency of the World Bank but gallantly lost to American physician, Jim Yong Kim.

Okonjo-Iweala, a former Managing Director of the World Bank and two-time Finance Minister of Nigeria, is a candidate for the post of Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, which will be vacated in August by Brazil’s Roberto Azevêdo. Earlier, Egypt had written a protest letter asking for Okonjo-Iweala’s disqualification as Nigeria had earlier supported the candidacy of Yonov Frederick Agah, one of the four incumbent Directors-General of the WTO, but the Organisation ignored it and confirmed her candidacy. The Federal Government obviously took this step to brighten Nigeria’s chances of success. The government of president Muhammadu Buhari has thrown its weight behind her candidacy showing its support for her.

In terms of experience, qualification, exposure, connections and world influence, Okonjo-Iweala eminently beats them all, apart from Seade Kuri, who rivals her in that pedigree. But Egypt’s Mamdouh does not quite hit the mark though he has very respectable credentials. Kuri has been intimately involved in most of the processes that made world trade as managed through multi-lateral platforms such the WTO and GATT what they are today. On the other hand, Okonjo-Iweala, who earned the respect of stakeholders in the international finance system as a former managing director of the World Bank and a high-flying financial engineer and economic reformer in Nigeria is a hot cake.

Some of her current positions on the international scene include; a member on the board of Twitter, Standard Chartered Bank a member of the presidential economic council in South Africa, the African Risk Capacity, ARC, and leads the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, GAVI.

In a fast changing dynamic world with sudden new world order and social economic disruption caused by the covid-19 pandemic, World trade does not need the same old bureaucratic process the WTO needs new perspectives and fresh hands to moderate the altercations of the world’s two main economic superpowers – the United States of America and China, for the good of all.

The latest high profile personality to test positive is the governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, who announced this last night from the state house.

The governor stated that he was asymptomatic as he showed no signs of the symptoms but after conducting test, it came out positive to his surprise, but added that his doctors had advised him to go into self isolation.

It was with great shock and surprise when news of the sack of National Working Committee of the ruling party APC filtered in some days back as most Nigerians watched how President Buhari who has kept mute over the years on our redundant service chiefs and the fight against the insurgent Boko Haram, to a decisive action to nail the rancorous NWC of its operations and internal crisis.

Many Nigerians have been clamoring for a change in the security architecture in the country which has seen thousands of our soldiers lost their lives including many civilians and causing many to be internally displaced.

Recently, the Yoruba socio-political group has also lent its voice to call out the president to also do exactly the same thing it did to the APC NWC which had its own crisis barely three weeks ago but only scolded the security chiefs for its lack luster performance. We can not afford to ignore this major critical issue whereby millions of Nigerian lives are being lost and displaced and the government continues to treat them with kid gloves.

It will also be noted that southern leaders have also berated the government of President Buhari over its nepotistic attitude in terms of job allocations and the federal character principle. Stating that the South-East and South-south zone have been marginalized over appointments and job allocation and have taken the matter to court.

We hereby appeal to the presidency to equally take a decisive action on the issue of the security architecture largely headed by men from a particular zone of the country and also equal distribution of federal appointments across all regions and state of the federation in line with the federal character principle just as he did to the ruling party APC.

Against the backdrop of covid-19 pandemic which has adversely affected the health system and economy at large, the Federal Government has placed a travel ban on citizens across the country.

Now citizens are now allowed to travel across the country but with observance to the rules and regulations of the covid-19 rules and regulations.

Curfews are to be observed between 10pm to 4am. All borders are hereby directed to be opened and airspace also for flights are also directed to resume domestic flights.

Schools are also directed to be opened with some degree of restrictions and conditions.

Following the lifting of travel restrictions by various countries all over the world, countries across Europe has placed travel restrictions to some high risk countries amongst which are the United states, Nigeria, New zealand, Canada, Mozambique,Paraguay, Namibia,South Korea, Rwanda,Tunisia,Venezuela, China, Uruagua, Egypt, Japan,Ethiopia,Mauritius,Kosovo,Paraguay,Costa Rica,Serbia,Uzbekistan,Zambia,India,Geogia,Lebanon,Ukraine,Russia,Kosovo,Jamaica,Turkmenistan,Saint Lucia,Vietnam,Indonesia,Serbia,Palau,Nicaragua,Montenegro,Mongolia,Thailand,Vatican City etc.

The EU on June 11 gave out some recommendations on the reopening of internal Schengen borders on 15 june, in order to allow European citizens to travel freely within the border areas just as they did before Covid-19 pandemic. And it has the right to determine which country it would permit to come into its borders, which is strictly on health ground according to its spokesman
