It was a bizarre scene last night as a prominent staff of the United Nations was seen making out with a lady wearing a red short gown behind the front seats with a bald headed man at the passenger’s seat in its white branded SUV vehicle with logo UN while on traffic with side glass wound down in the full glare of the public which allegedly took place in Tel Aviv.

The United Nations has reacted to the obnoxious video which has gone viral calling it disturbing and has launched an investigation into the act to unravel the true picture of the misconduct.

The United Nations in a statement, by the UNTSO said it was committed to the UN’s zero-tolerance policy against any kind of misconduct, including sexual exploitation and abuse and reminded its personnel of their obligations to the UN Code of Conduct.
It expressed shock stating that “the behaviour seen in the video is abhorrent and goes against everything that we stand for and have been working to achieve in terms of fighting misconduct by UN staff.

In an interview granted on Arise news at 9'oclock news , by newscaster Ngozi Alaegbo, to the executive governor of Rivers state, His excellency Governor Nyesom Wike, who stated unequivocally that he is happy with the crisis currently rocking the ruling party APC, which seems to be to the advantage of the opposition party PDP, and also hope his party wins future elections and claims power.

He lambasted the APC of not being a united party right from inception and accused it of only uniting in 2014 in order to claim power.
He took a swipe at the minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi, who claimed he has never visited the state since January, which he said its a big lie and accussed him of telling lies and playing to the gallery in order to paint the state black.

When asked on the issue of zoning and supporting former vice-president Atiku if he comes out to contest again, he said 'why not' ?, that it is his fundamental right to contest on the party platform and on the issue of zoning, he is not interested in the presidency for now, he will continue to work for the good people of Rivers state.

On Rotimi Amaechi contesting the presidential election, he said he will support him if he moves over to the PDP but can not work against his party, the PDP.

The senate leadership is in the news again, this time for the bad reasons as its leadership now enmeshed in scandal as it is been accused of N-power racketeering, amongst its membership.

The senate president Ahmad Lawan, was alleged to have been given some huge slots by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and disaster management but he has come out to deny the allegations. But he has come out to deny the allegations saying the ministry has not allocated any slot to him.

News making the round has it that some lawmakers printed out application forms from the portal of the N-Power scheme which is expected to be shared to the beneficiaries of the slots allocated to them.

Lawan, in a statement on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi, said the publication which linked him to the claim was untrue. He stated in part that “We hereby advise members of the public to totally disregard the fake and malicious publication in its entirety as regards the Senate President. It should be noted that the fairytale only claimed that some lawmakers printed out application forms from the portal of the scheme but failed to provide any evidence that this was to fill its speculated allocated slots.

“We wish to stress that neither the Senate President nor this office has anything to do with the purported slots credited by the publication to the Senate President.”

It will be noted that the ministry opened the N-Power portal recently for young Nigerians to participate with some conditions for registration by new applicants.

The N-power scheme is the social investment scheme/programme introduced by President Buhari’s administration to empower the teeming youth and provide employment opportunity to cushion the effect of unemployment which is on the increase in the country as a lot of young Nigerians are currently out of job.

It is still unbelievable as the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi is dead.

News have it that he died at age 70. Before the latest information filtered in, his alleged death was rumoured about one and half weeks ago which was later dispelled by his media aide, Mr Bolaji Tunji and one of his children that no such thing ever happened.

Ajimobi, was born on December 16, 1949, was on life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos. Ajimobi who had COVID-19 related ailment reportedly rushed to a hospital and later fell into coma. Nobody was willing to expose or confirm his death. One of his security men who served him for eight years said the death of the APC chieftain is real this time.

The truth was hidden all these while due to the leadership crisis in the ruling party APC but our reliable source however revealed that “It is true this time around. It was hidden before because of the political development within the party’’.

World best tennis superstar Novak Djokovic and his pretty wife Jelena have both tested positive to corona virus after returning to Serbia from his Adria Tour exhibition tournament in Croatia yesterday.

He later went on to address his teeming fans and promised to remain in self isolation, even as he received wide spread criticisms from home and abroad in which top players also took part in other activities such as basketball and dancing without following social distancing and WHO guidelines to the pandemic.

Top players who had tested positive to the pandemic include Grigor Dimtrov, Borna Coric and Victor Troicki amongs others and are said to have also taken part in the tournament.

The incumbent governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki finally took the bold step by defecting to the opposition party PDP.
He arrived at the PDP secretariat in Benin to formally defect and pick his membership card in order to contest in the forthcoming primary elections slated for June 23.
Also, we learnt that he and his deputy Shuaibu have been given a waiver to contest in the election by the opposition party. Supporters and leaders of the party chanted solidarity songs with large turnout in the capital city Benin.
The PDP had earlier scheduled its primary election for Friday and Saturday June 19 and 20 but now postponed it to the 23 according to the party leadership in Abuja.
Meanwhile the ruling party is still enmeshed in deep leadership crisis to the gains and benefits of the opposition party.

The entertainment industry was thrown into mourning mood and sadness as ace broadcaster, Dan Foster passes on.
The ace radio broadcaster, Daniel Foster popularly known as Dan Foster was an African American radio presenter who later in his career came to Nigeria and changed the whole game and style of radio presenting with his unique and lovely voice on the radio, you can’t be in Lagos and not heard his voice on either Cool Fm or Inspiration Fm.

Foster worked with numerous American radio stations among which include Cathy Hughes Radio One, Mix 106.5, and Virgin Island-based WTBN before moving to Nigeria in 2000 where he quickly became popular.
Inr 2000, Foster also known as the big Dawg chose to settle in Lagos and changed the history of radio presenting in Nigeria. He was a huge influence on Nigerian radio from the early 2000s. He obviously touched a number of lives and made Nigerians fall in love with listening to the radio.
He worked with Cool F.M before going on to Inspiration F.M. He also joined City F.M in 2014 and last worked with Classic.
His death really came as a huge shock to many, it is indeed a trying moment in the entertainment industry with a lot of fans pouring out their good will messages among which are Frank Edeho, Ben Bruce, Yinka, Denrele, Bovi.AY, Ogunyinka Victor just to mention a few.

Drama is playing out in the ruling party as the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, took a melodramatic twist seeing three persons, within five hours, laying claims to the national chairmanship of the party, in an acting capacity, just few hours after the Court of Appeal upheld the lower court’s ruling suspending Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as APC national chairman on Tuesday.

The three acting chairmen are Deputy National Chairman, South, Senator Abiola Ajimobi; Deputy National Secretary of the party, Chief Victor Giadom, and National Vice Chairman, South-South, Ntufam Hilliard Eta. As expected, emergence of the three acting chairmen, who all started by issuing conflicting orders, could hurt the party’s June 22 governorship primaries in Edo state as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday, gave parties no more than 10 days to conduct their primaries in Edo.
Meanwhile, Obaseki has met with Secondus and PDP govs. There were speculations yesterday that Obaseki is hesitant about reversing his resignation from the APC. However, Obaseki, who said in his twitter handle that he had not defected to any party, met with PDP leaders and governors to firm-up his move into the opposition party. The high-wire parley was ongong at press time.
Initially, Ajimobi first emerged acting chairman Relying on Section 14(2)(iii) of the APC Constitution 2014 (as amended) the National Working Committee, NWC, had named Ajimobi as acting national chairman on Tuesday night but it was not until Wednesday morning that a statement credited to him emerged, indicating that he had assumed office by that morning.

Whereas Giadom has already declared himself as acting chair, and nullifies Obaseki’s disqualification Barely an hour later, Deputy National Secretary of the party, Chief Victor Giadom, announced a take-over of party affairs, declaring as invalid all processes which led to the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki from the June 22 APC primary election in Edo State.
And a section of the NWC has announced the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Ntufam Hilliard Eta as Acting chairman after the court ruling against Adams Oshiomhole.

It was discovered that Juliet, who was four months pregnant had complained of Jimmy cheating on her and demanded for a separation with a 5million naira settlement but Jimmy had agreed to pay her 2.5million naira which she accepted.
But trouble broke out on Friday in Jimmy’s home when they started a quarrel and later got physical as Juliet was said to have pushed Jimmy to the floor, Jimmy had one bad leg supported with an artificial metal leg, he reacted to the push when he regained his balance.
She was said to have chased those who came to settle their quarrel out of the house but later went ahead to hang herself with a rope in over the ceiling fan out of frustration.
The police have opened an investigation over the incidence.

Barely two weeks when dust of the gruesome rape and murder case in the church, of Omozuwa Uwaila , a year 1 student of University of Benin was reported and investigation has commenced into the case, is yet to settle another incidence has been reported in Ibadan of a young lady, a 21-year-old National Diploma student of Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, identified as Grace Oshiagwu, who was said to have been raped and killed inside an Ibadan church on Saturday.

This incidence has been confirmed by the Police spokesman Gbenga Fadeyi , adding that details of the incident are still sketchy as at press time.
Sources, revealed that Grace’s lifeless body had been discovered by earlier callers to the church.
She was said to have been hit with a matchet on her head in a church mission building at Idi-Ori off expressway by unknown killer on Saturday 13 June, at about 3:00 pm.

It would be recalled that another female identified as Baraka Bello, student of the Department of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Federal College of Animal Health and Production, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, was raped and killed on June 1 at Oloro area of Kara.

Also , on June 5, a suspected ritualist had reportedly smashed the head and killed a 29-year-old woman, Mrs Azeezat Somuyiwa, who had been carrying a seven-month-old pregnancy. The incident occurred at Ijefun community near Ojoo, Ibadan, in the same Akinyele Local Government.
We are calling on the Federal and state government including the law enforcement agencies to swing into action immediately to put an end to this ugly trend ravaging our society and the girl child rights.

The long awaited Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) Nominations have just been announced for the 12th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) scheduled to hold on June 11, in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
The president of this year’s AMAA jury, Shaibu Husseini, who made the announcement stated the nominations in 26 categories at a media event yesterday.
The nominees in the 26 categories of the African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA,the annual pan-African reward system for motion picture practitioners were announced Sunday, May 15, by Mr. Shaibu Husseini, the President of the Jury.

According to Husseini, AMAA received over 420 films from filmmakers across 25 African countries of which 250 feature films and eight short films were nominated by the jury.

However, in contention for the best film slot are Dry (Nigeria), Ayanda (South Africa), Tell Me Sweet Something (South Africa), The Cursed One (Ghana), Fifty (Nigeria), Eye of the Storm (Burkina Faso), La Pagne (Niger) and Behind Closed Doors (Morocco).

James Bond star, Daniel Craig has finally called it quits with the franchise which made him famous in 2006 when he stared in his first role as James bond in Casino Royale, he went on to play the iconic spy in three more James bond movies Quantum of Solace (2008) Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015). Currently his role in Skyfall is the highest-grossing film in the series, as well as the highest-grossing film in the UK and the twelfth-highest-grossing film of all time, Other notable movies the Bond actor has featured in included: The Girl with the dragon tattoo (2001) Dream house (2001)Infamous( 2006) Invasion (2007), Road to Perdition (2002).

His decision to call it quits with the 007 role is connected with the role he is playing in Purity television series. Before the release of Spectre, the actor infamously said he would rather ‘slash his wrists’ than play the spy again. Meanwhile the Producers at Sony have, on several occasions, said they are hoping to woo Craig back to play Bond once more, yet there has been no confirmation he will be back.

Purity, a television series Daniel Craig is billed to feature actively in is based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen, and tells the tale of a young woman raised in unusual circumstances in Northern Carolina.

Other Actors who have played the iconic James bond role include Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenberg, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, the immediate predecessor to Daniel Craig.

The outbreak of the the dreaded Ebola disease in Nigeria and the rest of the world including world power US caused panic and pandemonium globally in 2014. Although much attention was not given until the disease was imported into Nigeria a by a Liberian diplomat, Patrick Sawyer and all hell was let loose.

Given the state of the Nigeria health system and her population and lack of preparedness for such outbreak of this magnitude the world was no longer at ease. The news went viral. Virtually everyone became aware of the Ebola disease, because the world was now in clear danger with Nigeria not safe, the world is not safe, especially as it has already recorded the death of four and Three states affected ( Lagos, Rivers and Enugu).

But with the commitment of former President Jonathan, the Ebola disease was brought to its kneel. The situation was arrested with much zeal, vigour,commitment and patriotism even as the then opposition party APC tried to politicize the issue, hence, Nigeria was declared Ebola-free on October 20, 2014, exactly just three months after the first reported case. Leaving seven of her dear citizens dead while Europe lost three and the US lost 4. Whereas, Liberia had lost 4,809, Guinea lost 2,536 and Sierra Leone lost 3,955. Thereby opening doors for commendation from world bodies including the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations, United States, European Union etc.

However, coming now to the issue of the now dreaded Lassa Fever outbreak which like the equally dreaded Ebola Virus Disease is a haemorrhagic fever that spreads easily from one person to another even at the slightest of contacts barely five weeks now since on the incidence has left 44 of our dear citizens dead without value being placed on citizens lives with even more on still counting, and 10 states already affected with the Lassa Fever disease under the President Buhari led APC government and its mantra of change. One is forced to ask if its change for the worse? As this present government came to power with all manner of criticisms against the previous administration.

The Buhari led APC government should do something very urgent and drastic before more souls are left dead as no effort is being made by the government to curb this outbreak other than to keep blaming the previous administration while more lives are lost, the economy keeps dwindling, naira keeps loosing its value etc.
