I remembered when I working at Allen & living at Palmgroove àxis on 25k salary. My Boss went to his Village to lavish money in December & my school fees deadline was 26th. He paid me a sum of 20k as salary.

if he paid you 20k because he complained he doesn't have money then we can look at the lavish spending as an issue.

i was told of one of my worker that 3k was deducted from his salary because he stayed away from work without any notice or information or call to the office and his line was not reachable. then he appeared the next day to work and went about his work as if nothing happened the day before. very arrogant. salary day he came complaining and we told him why. it is in the policy of the company but we always put it away because of friendship.

Another unleash dog came out from beside this said dog, i got to know now it was doberman, before i turned to run, i didn't know if the dog flew. when i looked back again, the dog was like 20meters from me. i didn't know when i ran into a compound, fell on the muddy water, stood up again and dashed into any door i saw at that time shouting. even the owners of the house when they saw a little ran into their house shouting like that even became scared.
omo since then i respect dog. and i have lots of them now.

I have a girlfriend I am meaning to propose to during the festive period, she's everything I want in a woman except few exception which might be a hindrance to the proposal.
Gist is, my babe is a graduate but lack of work made her to learn fashion designing, she's done with the training and she's very good with what she does.

After marriage, I have told her that I'll assist in her business, I'm planning to get a bigger shop space for her and equip it with modern day machines, tools and tailoring materials goods to help make her work lucrative. I'm budgeting about 1.2-1.5m for this.

The issue now is that, 3 days ago, I asked her what her role would be if eventually after marriage she gets the shop, equipments and all, where she would come in in terms of responsibilities in the house. Her reply was she doesn't want to assume any responsibility and that it's my duty to cater for the family and she can only help & I shouldn't make anything compulsory for her. So many thoughts came through my mind. One of it was that, where the proceeds of her investment would be going to if I should shoulder all the responsibilities in the house knowing fully well that she makes money.

I rang my mum and told her of her response, I was shocked that she backed her saying that I shouldn't have asked her to foot anything in the house that it was my sole responsibility as a man to cater for my family my wife inclusive. My dad too, same thing. Even told my gf mum about it too , she giggled and said I shouldn't have asked her n that it's my duty to provide for my family. They all sounded foreign to me. Or am I the one not understanding?

My question now is, why invest that kind of money in her when I'm not sure of getting little or nothing in terms in return help to run the family. That sum of money could get me 4 brand new bikes and 2 neatly used Keke Napep for transportation business. I'm sure I'll be getting returns from these investment weekly or monthly basis.

I don't want who wouldn't have any sense of responsibility at home after investing in her, even if she's covering 10% or 5% I wouldn't mind. Mere helping doesn't go down well with me, she might have and decide not to give out. I rather not invest at all and expect nothing from her.

I don't know if I'm the one over thinking this things or my parent and her mum aren't seeing things from my perspective or am I being inconsiderate?

The management is not wrong for me. They stated his fault and what they have been doing to avoid mingling with public. So this act is just to keep other staff safe against such disease. When last did you visit this Obudu.
The last time i did, i vouch never to go there again. unless somethings have changed.
The environment is cool. Misty. the valley bridge etc. mountain view etc. BUT,
the accommodation inside the Obudu was bleeped. paid 72,500 per day, for 3 rooms with my family, one of the room is a connected room, and they put off generator by 10:30 pm and put it on by 6:30 am. then put off again at 9:00am till 6:30 pm. they give you rechargeable to use there.
the cable train which was one of the main reason i went there, they told me no fuel unless i am willing to buy a drum of diesel fuel.
no Hot water in the rooms that we paid 72,500 for.

This was in 2016/ 2017. i Hope it has changed for the better.

Unless you are a private school owner or you just want to justify this wicked fraud against noble teachers.
1, I understand most schools collect their fees on installments. I can categorically tell you that for Nigerian private schools concerns, the population per weekly attendance once after mid term break ; a largely significant number of students/pupils has paid and cleared their tuition fee.
2. Nigeria private schools owners can never allow a child to sit for terminal exams without clearing it's debts , you Will surely never find that child in the exam hall. Realistically %96 pupils you see in the exam halls had cleared.
3. There are some cases where some parents that has been trying or faithful maybe had some downtime evidently made known to the school management would have been allowed their kids to continue , they are the ones that fall into the other part of the %96.

This is exactly what most of this private school owners will always schemishly tell their teachers. But if make your indept findings as a teacher you will discover a significant number of students had cleared. Now you ask why then are they still owing , some wicked ones will delay it for days/weeks after your salary due date. Why because some of them want be big business, real estate owners and travel abroad by all means .

How easy for you to make analysis and assumptions and try to be at the receiving end. It is either you're ignorant of happenings or you're a novice in private school running procedure. Parents that are here will tell that most of them don't pay on time especially after xmas break. Many students are still owing 1st term school fees. You talk as if you're not in our Nigeria economy. The fact you see all pupils writing exams is not a yard stick they have all paid. Many call proprietors to plead for their wards with promises of paying before the term closes. I felt sick reading your post because reacting to it will make me get sick the more. As if you collected the money from the parents yourself and deposited in the account of the school.
