Environment plays a big role for example my baby brother while in Naija was fond of running back home immediately he is dropped off in school and home was like 3km from school. When he finally relocated to the US his walking/ running long dist was seen as a talent and channeled to d right direction. Now he is a star track champion presetly on scholarship in one of d best colleges |
Well done, Chidube! |
It scares me that my people ALWAYS has someone behind thier challenges. OP marriage is not a bed of roses. Just like life it comes with it's ups and down. What will see you through is your love for God and each other. Ask any truthful married couple they would tell you that it hasn't been easy for them. You can decide to complicate things by moving from one church to the other, running from pillar to post instead of joining hands with your partner to make things work. I am a living example of someone who has passed through a lot with my hubby. it started with over coming infertiliy, to hubby losing his job and dabbling in diff stuff before finally setting up his own business which is doing ok. While hubby was down I ended up being d bread winner for many years. I am proud of my husband and proud that he didn't succumb to pressure from his friends and family calling for my head then. Sweetie am sorry to tell you that more pressure would come but you will overcome them through Christ. Will be praying for you guys. |
My first mobile phone was Bird. Twas given to me by my Dad cos I found his lost wallet with 9k inside. That was way back in 2003. Still remember climbing our roof to get Nitel signal and no be like say u go remain one place, u go de move around to catch d signal sef. |
ypzilanti: My brother, look up the word 'memoir'. The guy had to speak his mind before he died. He was pained, and had to pen his PERSONAL recollection for posterity before leaving planet earth. Memoirs are usually partial to the author, and are critiqued all the time. In saner climes the criticism to Achebe's work would have been historical in context, but in Nigeria, it was tribal.Wow! You 've earned my respect. I 've been wondering of Nigerians don't understand what a memoir is. Bless you! |
1. Never during my monthly period ( Tried it when we were trying hard to get preggers and it was nasty Yuck!)2. Never when my kids are down. Usually very tensed up then 3. Never when not in d mood. ( Usually work related ) But I can swear to the therapeutic nature of love making. It can cure a lot of things oooh! Ehe! Not before brushing of teeth o! |
I miss/need sleep, miss having guys fight over me ;DI Miss having time for my self. But truth be told, I love my boys like hell . Wouldn't trade them for the world. |
This sooo true! Especially d Nappy part. Guilty guilty guilty! It's just not d same for my 2 kids. |
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/yale-students-admit-beatiality-sex-workshop-article-1.1280746 What the Yale? Ivy league students admit to bestiality, desires about incest, during 'Sex Weekend' workshop At the 'Sex: Am I Normal' workshop three percent of the Yale student participants revealed they had engaged in sexual activity with an animal while others admitted to taking part in sadomasochism and prostitution. The intent of the workshop was to increase understanding for those who indulge in 'fringe sexual practices.' Sexologist Dr. Jill McDevitt hosted the session where around 55 students used their cellphones to answer questions about sex. The results were then published in real time on a screen. McDevitt, who also owns the Feminique sex store in West Chester, Pennsylvania, said the results showed "you can't have assumptions about people's backgrounds." Don't understand how a school could encourage such seminar. I believe that their are things that should remain a taboo. How in they world would you tell kids to understand people that engage in bestiality, paedophilia etc. This is so wrong IMO. |
Congratulations to our very own Dr Josephine Obiajulu Odumakin on her much deserved award. She was one of the nine recipents of the International Women of Courage Award. The award ceremony was held in State Department March 8th 2013 in Washington, DC. Well done ma'am.

Oh my ! I will really miss him. He made driving home after work pleasant. Chaz you touched a lot of lives with your program. You are one of the few on-air personalities that I'ld love to meet. Keep living your dream. Keep giving your all. God bless you. |
He is indeed an awesome God! Thank God for sparing your life! |
my first pregnancy I soo craved Agidi Jollof and to think I 've only tasted it thrice In my life in primary school! I remember I use to cry my eyes out just thinking of it. A friend saved my poor hubby by ordering 50 from Enugu else I for wound am. 2nd baby i craved drinking water from rubber/plastic cup. funny thing is that you detest those thing after putting to bed. |
Went for morning mass today and was renergized to give God my all dis 40 days and beyond. God grant me the grace love, give and forgive this season and beyond. Grant me the grace to fast from those things I that I 've slowly turned into mini gods in my life. Amen. |
OP, Though i prefer Cerelac my 9mth old baby eats less packaged food. He eats everything we eat but adores oatmeal and mashed banana, ground noodles cooked with carrot and egg yolk,Moi-moi and Ogi ( Guinea corn & Corn ), Soft cooked rice with mashed sardine or ordinary Mackerel. Ehee! They love ogbono and okro soups. I usually advise parents to equally introduce our local foods with little salt n pepper |
I love local names. Just last week i heard a lady call her son "Good Speed" it was hilarious. Sad my people are slowly losing their roots ![]() |
@OP Intimate abuse almost ruined my life and my marriage. Thanks to some NL members especially SISIKILL that saved my life. It is happening in most homes and it's heart breaking when some parents make it look as a n0n-issue some telling me it happened to them but that its "normal now" part of growing up. When i finally opened up to even my own mum she was like " my dear, these things happen " and even told me of her own experience as a kid mind you she is 63. Part of my healing came from talking to parents during my son's PTA meeting and in my office. I pray often for my sons cause really you never can tell where these perverts could be lurking. Even your best friend could be ur kid's worst nightmare. ![]() |
I pray this is a joke o! |
Gosh, i can't believe i read to the last page. The truth is that Scammers are eveywhere waiting for guilible and naive people to destroy. Looking at Chibuzor's pix i ask myself y this goodlooking young man would soil his hands on people's hard earned money. He even confidently trys to defend his wrong doing. How and when did this moral decay set in that it has eaten so deep in him? Chibuzor, what will you teach your kids? Do have conscience at all? Don't u know anything about karma? I guess like most naija peps u re an ardent church-goer, so how do u pray to God? Am truely afraid for my country. |
Oops double post. Aunty mi, it's ok naaa? Haba tot u ve moved on. Abi make i swear ![]() I swear i no go do am again;(. Are you good? |
babyosisi: They are your children, you can do whatever you want with them frankly speakingBad parenting my a***, i have taken your advise Aunty babyosisi. It will do you good to take mine, nwanyi oma. Even if i bought my kids, i can bet my last naija kobo that you not a better mum. Keep hiding under NL to salve your conscience. |
dominique: I don't know why osisi had to single out othenok's post about sedating her baby as if she was the only one that mentioned it. Is it because she's based in Nigeria or what's with all the ish about Nigeria being messed up got to do with all that? The op even stated that she gave her baby flu medicine or you convieniently missed that cos she's uk based. Even women in your beloved US of A are capable of doing worse. Some women even admitted to worse on oprah. Don't tell me you've not heard of junkie mums that abandon their babies and go partying all night. Don't you watch crime shows on investigative discovery where parents do despicable things to their children and make it look like an accident or kidnap? Who do we blame for such attrocities? the American sysyem? |
babyosisi:Thanks for your concern, my dear babyosisi, it may please you to know the following 1. Apart from that day i have NEVER ever tried that again with my babies 2. I didn't give them d medicine to go and enjoy owambe as you made yourself to believe rather it was so they won't be stampeded in d crowd. 3. Hubby is a medical Dr and he was fully aware. On another note i want you to 1. Stop being an alarmist. You are comparing me to to the late Cynthia's killers abi? You are indeed a drama queen. 2. Stop thinking you can love my babies more than me. Who exactly are you ? 3. Learn how to correct without sounding condescending and bitchy. |
My Dad is the kindest person i ve ever met in my life. He love for the poor is truely extra ordinary. Remember my mum always complaining that it was of no use buying clothes or shoes as a gift for him cos by next month you would find it on a begger. He taught us never to place importance to any material thing cos it never lasts. He nevers beats but would talk/advise you to tears n remorse. No wonder as teenagers we prefered Mum's whipping to his preaching.Daddy loves reading! His room then is a mini library. Although he only finished Pry school, he is a voracious reader with very high I.Q. My Daddy Darling only gets very cross when we are late for family prayer, which is an early morning and night stuff. Miss prayer n get ready for talk. I really love that man, my Daddy Darling. |
Am happy for Annie cos its obvious she is love. I sincerely pray that love would help her weather storms associated with living with a highly promiscious husband. Truth be told, Tu face can't change who he is. |
Ideally, its the new mother's mum that should take charge. But me i no mind both, the more the merrier. |
Chai! Pele our 'experienced' Nlander. E no go still better for the person wey do this to you. |
Lasinoh: Camping out nake-d under the covers on inflated king-sized air mattresses. . .in front of the TV. . . . with BOOOOOMING ENTERTAINMENT CENTERS SHAKING THE WHOLE HOUSE. . . .while rubbing body on those cold winter nights! ? You are sounding so bitter. |
hahahaha! anyway, that time we had only one tv in the sitting room so bedrooom was boring only for intimacy & sleep, we use to carry our Mouka-Foam to the sitting room to do the hhmm hhmm hhmm hhmm in front of the tv, but we stopped when we had our first kid [/quote]Awwww! I knew you had a bit of naughtiness in you. But having a kid shouldn't stop you guys from spicing ur life naa! For me n my bobo na to drop them off @ Grandma's or arrange a play date for them. |

Yuck!)
. Wouldn't trade them for the world.
