There are about 80 ethnic groups. The major ones are Amhara(me), Tigray, Agew(me), Oromo, Somalia, Gurage, Afar, Harar and Sidama.
80! That's quite much. Is there any tribalism or marginalization going onhuh

Ethiopians aren't Jews other than Falashas(Ethiopian Jews in Israel, USA and in small areas of northern Ethiopia). Those few that consider themselves are denying their true identity(intentionally or unintentionally). We are Cushite, Omotic and Nilotic.
Good to know. I once got into an argument with a supremacist who claimed all African nations were colonized. I pointed out Ethiopia and he claimed they considered themselves jews and that they hate fellow Africans and some other bullshit. Now that can't fly again

Yes, we've. There were and still are many great Musicians, but they weren't/aren't exposed that to the world like others. But there exposure now is growing. For example, our great singer named "Teddy Afro" new album "Ethiopia" had sold 600,000 CD in just the first week of release worldwide. His album even ranked 1st in the Billboard world album charts for until May 20, 2017.

Listen his track 1 song named "Ethiopia". You may love it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsrL9Rz-A5A
The song is quite nice. Had a good beat to it and even though I can't understand the language, it seems quite similar to the Hausa/Fulani language. Was there any mingling in the pasthuh

Where those writings Ethiopian?? They seem a tad similar to Arabian languages though. What is the Official Lingua franca of Ethiopia??

Also do you have any media industry like Nollywood, Ghallywood and the resthuh

Western influences is less compared to other African countries. Most of Ethiopians are poor and live in rural areas, so western influences are less there. The few urban areas have relatively strong western influences.
.

Pardon if this sounds offensive but may I ask WHY Ethiopians are poorhuh

Also what are the major religions in Ethiopia currently? How has ATR fared over there??

You are incorrect. Ethiopia has a strong influence in Africa and world compared to almost all African nations. It's place to African Union and United Nations Economic commission for Africa. Our military is the 3rd strongest in Africa with only $350 million annual budget and have the most peacekeeping UN forces in Africa. We usually represent Africa during major international forums and meetings.

Incorrect again Bro. How can we be relatively unknown when we are place to African Union and United Nations economic commission for Africa. Pan-Africanism, Ethiopianism ideas were born in Ethiopia. We are the only African nation to resist colonialism. Some African countries use green/yellow/red flags because of Ethiopian flag. We are in the top 3 African influential country in the continent and among the few in the world. The list goes on and on, so how can we are relatively unknown country compared to other African countries.
I stand corrected

However what I meant was Ethiopians don't err... should I say, flaunt?? their culture like other African tribes.

Media attention on Ethiopia is usually very low too which is a good thing normally but means Ethiopia is...... for lack of a better word, mediocre.

Whyhuh
You guys are one of the most stable and oldest tribes in this continent. Why are you not leadinghuh

On another note, Can you give me a list of Ethiopian intellectuals and their works??
Sadly, here we know of no Ethiopian intellectual.

Also, heard you guys had an empire? How big was it and what caused it's downfallhuh

last but certainly not least, what is the currently political situation in Ethiopia??

OP, my questions are

1) How many tribes are there in Ethiopiahuh

2) I heard Ethiopians regard themselves as Jew's because Queen Sheba supposedly had an affair with King Solomon and the child borne became the next emperor. How true is this??

3) Do you have Musicians in Ethiopia?? I've heard Kenyan, South African, Ugandan, Zambian, heck even Somali music but no Ethiopia?? Why sohuh

4) How has western influence affected you guys? I have mad respect for you guys because you were the few African nations to resist colonial influence.

5) Err... why exactly does Ethiopia have very little influence.

No offense, but you guys are relatively unknown.

Biafra struggle didn't start today and so if it escalated today is as a result of the present day injustice experienced in nigeria today. The last administrations has carried every region along in their governance. So the blame is on the failed government and their failed projects. Think deeply what I just wrote and see if you are happy with the present day nigeria. The worst of all deceit is to tell yourself lies.
Sir you are clearly saying nonsense all in the bid to justify your position.

Your "agitation" started in 2015 the moment GEJ lost and you folks lost the juicy positions you had in the presidency.

Every region was carried alonghuh Lol, Yorubas were marginalized and check below what some of your kinsmen said.

The worst lies as you said are the lies we tell ourselves.
Given that your kinsmen had held key positions in this nation and no one talked about Biafra then but now when the tides had turned, you suddenly remembered, doesnt that make you sore losershuh undecided

Christianity EtcRe: Are Tongues Meant To Be Understood? by Outofsync(m): 12:31pm On Jun 11, 2017
Venerable612:
I get this dilemma. I think when we pray in tongues, we pray to God and the Spirit Itself helps to pray, so that we do not need to understand what we are praying for. But when Pastors do this on the pupilt and people say Amen, do the pastors pray in tongues by faith, or they understand what their prayers means. I am also curious as to what prophecy means; I mean the one to be interpreted - I cor 14:3.
Sighs.

That is the problem today. Pastors seeking to impress the congregation will start doing what they know is unscriptural. Please don't ever say Amen to those. It is not biblical and even dangerous.

Prophecies are one ofGod's way of edifying us Christians.

Simply put, they are God's words and instructions to the congregation.

I'm on mobile right now so I really can't type long.

Suffice to say prophesies always comes out of a true Christian gathering.

Christianity EtcRe: Are Tongues Meant To Be Understood? by Outofsync(m): 12:04pm On Jun 11, 2017

This is deeper than is presented. The answer is both yes and no.

Yes, OP, in the sense that tongues are meant to be interpreted. Paul clearly says this in 1Cor chapter 14 vs 13.

Again, no in the sense that tongues are a spiritual language.
Whoever is conversing in tongues is speaking directly to God and no man can understand him naturally.

Let me say this, every Christian should speak in tongues. Its not something mystical reserved for the few.

Shalom.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Dare Arewa: We Won’t Leave North …demand Ango Abdullahi’s Arrest by Outofsync(m): 11:19am On Jun 11, 2017
linusbnn:
When I say the north should write,i mean look through the presidency to all aspect of the government of the day, whom do you find dominating?it goes down to all the uniform body of the nation, whom do you find there. The letter AU and UN will take seriously will be the one from either the presidency, the senate or the military. Ipob has written countless times to UN but it will be regarded as complain unless the government writes theirs.
And during the last administration, who was VERY sympathetic to igbos, why didn't you push this agendahuh
PoliticsRe: Igbo Dare Arewa: We Won’t Leave North …demand Ango Abdullahi’s Arrest by Outofsync(m): 11:08am On Jun 11, 2017
linusbnn:
Let me enlighten you on the purpose of why the igbo's will reject the threat. If the igbos will have to leave the north,it must be on the ground that a UN monitored referendum be conducted so that the properties of the igbos in the north will not be lost because there must be a round-table discussion on the way and manner of disintegration since it is possible to be a nigerian and own a property in any part of the world. What the northerners are planning is to have those properties through forfeiture since you cannot leave with your buildings, hotels, etc. If the northerners are serious with this threat, they know what to do,simply write to the AU and UN stating that they don't want another civil war but would prefer a referendum to be conducted to know the position of the igbos in general like it was done in UK about Scotland and in EU about the UK.
And why has the Igbos not written to the UN themselves??

If you knew that you had considerable properties in the North, why did you rain insults on them over and overhuh

What is wrong with you folkshuh undecided
