Romance › Re: What Do I Do, I'm Scared He Will Kill Her. by Outstrip(f): 3:17am On Nov 09, 2009
What sort of mother does that? So she would rather bury her child. So all her siblings combined cannot help her while she goes to court at least get enough from the husband to cover their tuition and upkeep? If her siblings really care for her they will step up. They can't leave her there to die.

I am a l little confused. Who funds the EFCC? Isn't it a government agency? Was it not set up to do this sort of thing? I am wondering why it is okay for them to keep a percentage (if it is true). It is ethically wrong.
Noone has answered the pertinent question here- why do people in other countries, either in the west or in aficar, why do they obey traffic signals and traffic and driving decorum while in Nigeria, it is the opposite? In Ghana, South Africa and most other african countries, it is the same, no cammera, no police etc, but these people obey traffic signals, why is it different in Nigeria? Even those who lived abroad, when they come home, they flout traffic signal rules, why is this?
My dad has always followed the rules and that did not change when he first moved back home to Nigeria. There was a bad situation were he was driving and the person behind him felt he was not driving fast enough and started using his car to push my dad's car. My dad said he could not believe it. He told the guy that they needed to maintain their lane and the guy was like we know dey do that for here. What really irritated my dad was that someone will just decide that they can use their vehicle to bump yours to make you go faster. I don't know how people can drive like human beings under such conditions. My dad is stickler for the law. If it is a residential area or a market place he will drive at a sensible speed limit. People do not understand that in Nigeria. So don't blame the ones that have to drive a little off to get to their destination

A LovePeddler a LovePeddler and it does not matter if he is married or not. Some men will not cheat and even if it happens it is not something that they are proud off or see as the norm

VALENCI:
poverty mentality will make a man become afraid of a successful woman. No matter the height she has attained, she was created to submit to a man. I want to marry a very successful woman and we both will work it out.
I agree with the first part of your statement. I really believe it is a mentality of poverty. When people say it is only uneducated men that behave that way I just laugh. I believe that poverty is a state of mind. You can see people with a lot of money and you still look at them and think POVERTY. Kind of like the same mentality that people in power have in Nigeria. It is embarrassing to hear these men come in here and say things like a successful woman will be too bossy and not even realize that they have pretty much called themselves mediocre.

@ dakkylove

Not sure the guys you hang around, but my friends and I are def are not scared of successful women. If any thing its a big Turn on.
They are much better than all those air heads that have nothing to bring to the relationship apart from looking good and asking you to take care of them.
She did not say all. She said some. I have seen Nigerian guys that are okay with a wife that kicks ass. We are not all imagining things. The other lady spoke of how impressed she was when another man said his wife is what made him who he is. If it was not so rare she would not have been so impressed
Family › Re: Why Are Men Afraid Of Successful Women by Outstrip(f): 5:11pm On Nov 05, 2009
What irritates me are the Nigerian women who are successful but you can see that they are going above and beyond to make sure they do not step on their husbands toes. If you are successful and you cannot be happy about it because it will make your husband sad then you have serious issues. I don't see why a man feels all of a sudden that he cannot "take care" of a woman because she is succesful. That is so sexist. You are basically implying that for you to feel like a man the woman has to be unsuccessful. Go ahead and prove to the poster what she already knows. At least you were subtle unlike Cantell who just came out and said successful women intimidate him.

As for me this is my own personal belief. All men at one point or the other will feel intimidated by a successful wife. It is natural. The only difference is that in the Nigerian culture she is more likely going to be oppressed because of it. If she feels like she is being forced to feel small by her husband and pushes back then she is seen as being a bad person. It is different in the west where a woman can be successfull and not have to make excuses for it or tone it down so that people will not think that she is the one feeding him. In the west your money is his money at the end of the day. Our culture set the men up for failure because the only thing most men contribute to the family dynamic is the sperm and money for the upkeep. When the woman starts making the money and they man falls on hard times and realizes that he placed his worth in the wrong place he takes it out on the woman.
Romance › Re: How Can I Make My Wife Happy Again? by Outstrip(f): 4:56pm On Nov 05, 2009
Somethings just need time such as the death of a loved one. Be a source of strength for her. Most women never think of themselves. Let her know that you are in full support of her taking time to relax. Let her know you are worried about her. When she comes back from her stressful day at work rub her feet. Take her away for the weekend. You do not have to spend too much. Even a hotel where you guys can just relax and turn off your phones. Assure her that with time she will feel better. It is funny but it is possible to feel lonely even when you have someone who worries about you. Show her that she does not have to stand alone that she can relax and lean on you. Good luck. I hope it all works out.

Was Mercy the married one? The man should be ashamed of himself. Don't take responsibility for your actions. Keep chasing women and blame other people for your irresponsibility.

Are you guys suggesting that because he did not want the child then she should have aborted the baby? As for the person saying work two jobs how many jobs do you have? If she is working the two jobs who will be raising that child? He needs to pay for the childs upkeep and she also needs to contribute. If she can afford to do it all on her own then that is fine also.

The poster still has not explained what she meant by if he pays the back child support she will hand over the babyhuhhuh??

grin grin grin grin grin grin Too early in the morning for this. It is true about the vaseline and even baby oil. It basically fries your skin which is not good. I know that when white people want to tan faster they use baby oil on their skin and sit under the sun. Needless to say over a period of time it damages the skin

I remember that "domestic dispute" but how does that mean he is an abuser. I know at a point the woman said she ended up on the floor which is wrong but she never said he hit her or deliberately shoved her. Abeg if there was another one then let us know otherwise abeg don't spoil a man's good name
