Ijaya123:Your head dey dere. Didn't want those words to come out of my own mouth. Guess it's basically public yet non-admitted, knowledge that part of the same crew that brought about HB are heavily complicit in the transaction of a tilapia swallowing white whale? God dey. |
arsetalks:Shoot! My bad about the name. Now I understand. |

OK. Let's see... * These days, nothing less than a PC board with at least Core i3 processor (all-in-sound) + board + other periphrals (HDD... @least 4GB (DDR3) RAM...) - about N160, 000 (could be less o) *Sound/card, say, M AudioPhile blah, blah - N40, 000 *Mic, say, Rode NT series - N65, 000 (thereabout) *MIDI keyboard (controller) - say N25, 000 *Headphones - N10, 000 (1 or 2 depending on brand...) *Studio Acoustics - average level, no less than N100 - N150k *Monitors - N150, 000 (i.e. Yamaha HS80)............................ You should get the drift with the above PS The studio is as good as who uses it. |
braine:You are so funny ![]() Anyway, these days I seldom enjoy ads but and can you imagine, I can recall most of the ads I like but not the brand... bad advertising. When I remember I'll update my post |

Though there isn't absolute arithmetic to 'blowing', you can still get there. Number one, don't get excited, N2m IS CHICKEN CHANGE but it can work for you like it's a billion bucks if you go about it properly with God's grace. Plan, plan, plan as in even N10m can be spent on a music career with no commensurate returns... no be story o, I know of a couple. Throwing money about is no guarantee. Shooting a world class video is actually possible from that money and have something to work with for promo et al but you would have to tag on with people that can call in favours... you need luck for that. Check your music. Is it really one of the many jukpa kinds or its one in a million type of music yet with mass appeal? This will help you define your brand and the direction for later PR and promotion. It will do well to get some A&R advice... After your material is certified ready for the market, you can begin the promo & PR campaign. Going to every DJ is a mistake. You need to identify the ones that'll actually make your money work for you. Yes quite sadly, payola is a reality of Nigerian entertainment. Your image and connection to your fans is very important. It's a strategy few understand. You don't need to buy thousands of followers on IG, Twitter... o. If they are not interacting with you, it is easily discernible they were bought... Internet buzz has to be the right target. It doesn't necessarily need to be on every blog or music site but the one that MATTER. No, LindaIkeji is not a must but could be included. Long story... can't conclude now... |
stephenponti:Exactly how I feel... His books had such profound impact on my life. Listening to him, you'll agree he is blessed with very deep insight. Such a blessing to the world. I guess he died empty, giving the world all he had as he wanted. |
A song or a jingle; payola or placement? Let me know. |
Nice. Thanks for the info. |
Care to share how? |
Depends... what are the specs? Processor clock speed, core specs, RAM etc |

Djicemob: OP.In as much as you tried to make sense you didn't really succeed, using the word 'hip-hop' invalidates your points. You said hip-hop and i rushed in thinking you were going to highlight insightful reasons why hip-hop is empty in Nigeria and all i read was the emptiness in pop and afrobeats. If it aint hip-hop its nothing, you mentioned hiphop, why not address hip-hop?100% "concurrence" |
Yeah, who do you want? Send a mail to richgamutonline@yahoo.com. You may need to include a brief of what you need who for, not necessarily the full details lest you say someone has one chanced you on your idea. |
AKMoney1: When I was growing up, this animal was part of the most popular pets in almost every household but trust me you can rarely find them in any home now. People believe there are spiritual attachment with cats and thereby forbidding them lil by lil. But cats are nice and loving pet and not aggressive as dogs, I may keep few when I reside in western countries though cos I'm afraid of them possessing evil spirit here in naija. The truth is evil people can use any animal as a medium to discharge their works. Ignorance and our film industry has made people in these parts cat haters. I've kept cats as pets since I was like 5 and at a point in time, a fake pastor - And I call him fake cos he later 'pounded' my cousin silly... haa, scandal - said cats were this and that and my mum gave it out. so painful. Well , after all said and done, we saw into his total disregard for even the word of God he preaches... got one of the kittes of our old cat... Anyway, my cat... Anyone know of a Cattery in Lagos to keep cats like when traveling for a brief period? Asked around, no. show.

Live sound engineers please respond. I'm eager for your reactions as well. |
In my opinion, Nigeria is ripe for a boy band but they need to be really good and have proper A&R direction biko. Not the gbogbo ti gbo crew kind of essence... The closest we have had to it may have been P Boiz & Style Plus... that worked while they lasted. Though boy bands aren't crazes like in the 90's and 2000's globally, they are still viable... kai, I think one of the Koreas or is it Japan that has an uber talented ensemble of of about 7 boys... cool stuff. With proper definition, it's definitely workable. |
