Atheism is simply a logical position on the existence of God.

Atheism does not tell you anything about somebody. An atheist can be a Buddhist, a satanist a humanist, a sexist, a thief or a president.

I am a humanist.

Despite what you think, I am for freedom of religion. Everybody has the right to religion. However, in an open forum, one does not have the right to ot be offended. Every idea or religion can be criticized.

Dont expect me to respect your theology by force. I will speak the truth about your religion
From my observation about your stance on religion (today in particular) you are always taking a demeaning approach to Christianity which will offend Christians whether in a faceless forum or not...just check your post on this topic they are laced more with insult rather than anything that could be considered a rational thought...

You can actually speak the truth (or your truth as the case maybe) without demeaning and absolutely no one will "force you to accept their theology" in a faceless forum.

And Ps False Atheist/Humanist are so so obsessed with Christians and thier God..so much time spent on something you supposedly don't believe in.

Lolz... Am also guilty of downloading & not watching. I thought it was just me. The knowledge that I've got new movies on my HDD gives me more satisfaction than actually seeing the movies. And whenever i see one movie from it, i replace it by downloading atleast 2 movies.
lol we many...i remember back then in school when SD card of 8gb and above wasn't a thing, me and my friend will fill our meagre 2gb Sd card" on our Nokia N73 with movies grin but with school work we won't have the time to see them, we will just be skimming through movies on ",coreplayer," and deleting and downloading again and again cheesy

Now I screen my hard drive from time to time. If theres a movie that's been there long and I havent been pulled to it I just delete it.

Only the series I keep and once I watch an episode and it doesnt grab hen that's it.

Too much stuff. Some of them the time has past.

Still I keep my beloved undeletables folder.
In January i decided gave my old hardrives a rest (1TB and 750gb both filled) so i got a new 2TB by March i have used about 1.1Tb and I haven't even seen up to half of the stuff it's then i knew i had a problem.. so with this lockdown i have been on a watching spree, and i have made considerable progress...keep the movies i really like then delete the terrible ones...

I hardly keep series because i found out that i rarey go back to see them and they take up more space, except sitcoms.

Ehn en I'm back.. Been a while....pls house i sincerely need honest replies in this.... I started breaking bad because of this thread...I've finished 2 seasons and only an episode in for season 3....i kinda find it interesting but not that way people are hyping here.... Pls d question is that is this how the series continue back and forthhuh Selling meth and stopping for a while or there is something more intriguing in the series..cos i don't understand again ..is this the how the series continue
If by season 3 the series isn't exciting you yet, i suggest you drop it now..
There are many reasons why the show has got so much hype and it's a benchmark...solid character development, great dialogues, Quality Easter eggs, exceptional art of story telling, and so many more (my knowledge of basic chemistry actually improved after seeing it)..Not everyone will buy into the hype and season 3 means you are at the mid point, so suggest you drop it now if you aren't feeling it to save you the stress.

I got so many unwatched movies

I hardly watch movies, i prefer downloading and keeping
That's how i ended up with about almost 2TB of Unwatched files (Movies, Series and Docu), days of sleepless night, and most of my income in dem Internet providers acc sad.. There's always this thrill of downloading something new, some you might not even have need for lol...Just find time to see at least about 50% of what you currently have and hold of downloading new stuff for the meantime...

There's actually a real life disorder when one buys stuff and fills the entire house and still continues to buy (mostly non essential things) saw it on this program called "Taboo" on National Geographic sometime ago...your case will turn to a "digitalized" version of this disorder if you don't slow down grin

White cops frequently shooting unarmed blacks mostly stems from prejudice that an average nigga is sneaky and dangerous. Armed with such mindset, a white cop is most likely to shoot a black guy innocently reaching for his driving license, than a black guy holding a gun.
So on point again...but not complying with orders or been on the run will better this situation how?
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by oyaskii(m): 10:45am On Apr 20, 2020
MacCantStopMe:
Did they see a gun? Did they see straps?

In a court, those are the questions that would be asked. Unfortunately, prosecutors and judges in America love cops.
They killed a cop with a gun, left a sheriff in the trunk of a car in the middle of nowhere... no matter how you spin this there was only going to be one outcome and they didn't help their case one bit..hell OGS did beat a murder charge against a white woman in a white dominated court room with evidence stack up against him because he complied.

American white cops have a deepseethed prejudice against Blacks, and are known to be trigger-happy.
So True..Knowing this prejudice, wouldn't they have at least complied to at least give them a fighting chance to save their lives, to least get arrested and have their day in court?

If a perp refuses to comply but is unarmed, the law stipulates a law enforcement officer must utilize de-escalation techniques, which entails, using verbal persuasion for the primary purpose of convincing a perp to surrender voluntarily.

When verbal persuasion doesn't work, then cops are allowed to use minimal force to force the perp to comply. This is when tasing or pepper splaying the perp is necessary.

Cops are only allow to use fatal force if/when a perp is carrying, and is not complying to directives.
They were believed to be armed and dangerous and didn't comply with orders? Right or wrong?

MacCantStopMe:
huh

Were either Slim or Queen holding armed with guns?

The point is that they were unarmed and the protocol would have been to de-escalate
There are different "normal protocol" for different scenario. For the Queen and Slim scenario they were fugitives believed,to be armed and dangerous, with a getaway about to leave the country and didn't comply with orders to stand down...and i still told you the fetal shot was not necessary but there wasn't going to be any negotiations whatsoever.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by oyaskii(m): 10:01am On Apr 20, 2020
MacCantStopMe:
The protocol is to negotiate first. If that fails, then, surround the suspects and neuter them either by taser or takedown
Explain how you will "take down" or neuter someone with a taser wielding a semi automatic weapon and holding a hostage

Then it's wrong for the police to shoot at them. Basic protocol dictates that the police only shoot when lethal force is anticipated. Basically, you have to actually attempt to kill a police officer or a civilian before lethal force (shooting) can be used against you.
That scene was depicting racist brutality against the black man.
I still stated that the lethal force was not necessary yesterday, but they have clearly made up thier mind to cross the border or least go down as some kind of hero seeing they already had a cult following among the blacks. In all honesty what would you have suggested the police should have done?

I know. When you live in a country where police flogs people for being out of their house is normal, how would you understand
This shouldn't be your comeback, it makes you sound "full of yourself". Different scenerio with different tactics..I know for a fact there's no way you can negotiate your way out of every situation, some people can't be reasoned with, so force is required so whether the force is deadly or not is determined by what danger the armed person poses to innocent bystanders.

MacCantStopMe:
Spoken like a true zoogerian. Animalistic Nigerian.

grin grin grin

Let me just correct you this once. You do not kill an unarmed person if you have a gun, especially if the unarmed person is not attacking you.

Police arrests people armed with knives in the UK, not to talk of people without any weapon. There is even one that I saw live where a machete wielding man was arrested after 30 minutes standoff with police. The negotiated with the guy, then when he wasnt cooperating, they enclosed him and seized the machete.
Story.. Disobeying orders most times will elicit a reaction, if the person is armed and unwilling to cooperate the cop are obliged by law use force tho not lethal expect the armed person poses a clear and present danger...let the machete man try to chop of the head of the cop lemme see how his reaction will be..so in perspective it boils down to dealing with a rational "armed" person or dealing with an irrational crack head armed person.

Now back to Queen and slim, i did say the cop gave orders which they refuse hence the shot and then i said it shouldn't have been lethal since they were unharmed, but this Mfs were Fugitives (as far as the cops where concerned at that point) about to escape the country...so i say they got what they bargained for.

Better.

The only part that you should correct is the end. They should have been arrested and not killed.

They were unarmed. We have seen armed white men survive encounters with police in USA
They did tell them to get on the ground which they ignored (another bad decision) and police would usually shoot in such scenerio but not a fatal shot except in the case where the criminal is armed or firing back.

Yeah the Romeo & Jullet kinda end scene was ok by me, considering it's a romantic movie.

There are so many way they could have advanced the plot from the self defense scene, and that movie would have been a massive hit.
G..The writers had a good material but decided to spin it silly, i was expecting from shooting the cop, the girl been a lawyer would have taken up the case against the police force to argue for self defence, then win the case and cause a reform in the law on how cops handle black people....

If not that I have turned a new leaf, I would have bashed you for this statement in bold.

Better further explain what you mean....or correct yourself.
The bad decisions was out of control..Spoiler alert! for those who haven't seen it am sorry. First off, Shooting the Cop was self-defence and probably hold up in court, but no the girl (surprisingly a lawyer) suggested they run away, secondly probably the Sheriff seemed "like one of the guys" and could have actually been be able to help if they had properly explained the whole situation but no another bad decision and the left the man in a deserted road in a trunk of a car thereby eliminating any chance of them presenting or building an credible case that would hold in court and from there things kinds spiraled out of country... There's was only going to be one outcome in the end.

Queen and Slim...6/10
Genre: Crime, Drama, Romance
Spoiler Alert!!!!

Queen and Slim had one of the most engaging stories I've seen in the pure Drama genre. But somewhere along the line, i felt like some of the choices made by the 2 leads was quite ridiculous & it really irked me.
Daniel Kaluuya kills a cop in self defense, his attorney GF advises him they run....are you kidding me? this was someone who claimed she was the best at what she does. Why run when you can put up a solid case, seeing that the dash cam, recorded everything, or better still, why not set the cop car on fire to erase every evidence.

Notwithstanding the above, & considering the fact that am not a Drama fanatic, the rest of the movie sure held me spellbound.
Acting most especially from Daniel Kaluuya was solid, soundtracks was awesome especially that Fella's soundtrack, cinematography was top notch, the political message was also well conveyed.
All in all, a better writing would have made this flick a masterpiece.
Exactly my thoughts..not saying what the cop did was right but Daniel Kaluuya and the babe made some pretty bad decisions and two wrongs don't make a right so i thought that end scene was a fair outcome all things considered..

Yeah the soundtrack was solid and along with it's pacing with the scenes.

The Guilty(2018).......Undecided
Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller

I have to be 100% subjective here with my review.

I enjoy thrillers no doubt, but this was a no no for me, i slept off like a million times, while seeing this, which kinda defeats the whole purpose of the genre. Movies like this ought to elicit the"Edge of the sit" feeling from the viewers.......but i was sleeping comfortably in the middle of mine all through the flick.

Seeing that it was rated highly on both IMDb & Rotten Tomatoes goes to show that, it was quite a good flick, but honestly speaking, it wasn't really for me.
was it the danish movie where a kidnapped women called in alarm dispatch center and that was the scenerio through out? I thought it was a brilliant movie, lol i thinking this type of movies might not be your forte where one character just go on and on interacting with other characters usually through a phone call throughout the duration of the movie just like Tom Hardy in "Locke" and Daniel Radcliffe in "Beast of Burden"...this can easily become boring and tiring.
