DMerciful: Bandits, bokoharam and killer herdsmen has not stopped the North from producing the president but you naively believe IPOB is the reason we're not considered politically. If you know your history you'll know that the fear of the dominating attitude of the Igbos started way before independence.
If you expect the Igbo man to beg for political power then you don't know us at all. If NigerIA insist on undermining us, Nigeria herself will not progress.
Given the political atmosphere just now, VP is ok for us, since SW wanna be greedy, they've got it coming! Nobody is undermining you sir. Ndigbo voted en mass for Atiku-Obi ticket of the PDP in 2019 but the PDP didn't secure enough votes to win. It will be wrong to accuse others by calling this 'undermining us' In 2023, most Igbos are hoping that the PDP re-present the same Atiku-Obi ticket with the hope that they win. However if other parts of Nigeria are working for the ticket of another political party, the Igbos will be complaining that they are undermining them. Everyone is pursuing his own interests but if your interests fail to materialize, don't start to scream 'betrayal, marginalization or they hate us mantra' |

If APC ceeds the ticket to SW, PDP is giving the ticket to the North.
Las Las, I'm 1000% sure a yorubaman won't be the next president, if SE won't be on both tickets.
yorubas have had their turn. I love yorubas but they won't be president in 2023. We don't reinforce greed and injustice where I come from.
Daalu nu! You guys still fail to learn basic facts; 1) Political parties and NOT tribes contest elections. 2) The party that will win need to be fully on ground in at least 24 States and these cut across hundreds of tribes. 3) As at today, the PDP is the weaker party. There's no political party that has ever won election from a position of weakness. 4) For the PDP to win, it will need to attract more heavy weight political Giants into his fold, mend fences with aggrived members and present a candidate that can inspire mass support. Presently, the PDP control 13 States. Defections from the party is not good. Basing their strategy solely on 'Fulani ethnic group of their flag bearer' is not enough to win presidential election. 5) Trying to replace a Fulani president with another Fulani president especially with the prevailing anti-Fulani sentiments is bound to discourage substantial numbers of voters, even in the North. Many Northern Minorities will see it as entrenching Fulani hegemony over them and will most likely vote against as they sabotaged 'Atiku as Northern consensus candidate' in the PDP presidential primaries and Buhari in main presidential election of 2011. 6) If the PDP manage to win, it will be a big plus for Nigerian democracy because it will enbolden future opposition candidates that they can defeat the ruling party and make the APC to learn from their mistakes. Head or Tail, it's a win-win for the country irrespective of the present challenges. |

I'm from the Nigerdelta but truth must be told Unfortunately, the South and the middle belt are regions and NOT political parties with a well defined membership and structure that can enforce decisions on their members. If the whole Southern + Middle Belt Governors meet and decide that the S/East should be given tickets in both PDP and APC, what if non-Igbo members of these parties contest and win the presidential primaries of these parties, how will you stop him? |

richidinho: Yaradua didnt make any move in 2007, he was considered because of this same zoning arrangement, forget PDP, APC is the ruling party now Between 1999-2015, Nigeria was more or less one party State with a dominant PDP and several smaller parties that couldn't win presidential elections, so political decisions taken at Wadata Plaza of the PDP only needed 'elections' to formalize it. Any presidential candidate chosen by the then PDP was bound to win. All these changed with the formaltion of an alternative viable party, the APC which eventually defeated the PDP in 2015. Now, each political party has to consider it's own survival/possiblility of defeat in its zoning arrangements. |

We can all step down for a south east candidate the way we (southern candidates) stepped down for Yaradua in 2007
It is called "gentleman's agreement" just for the sake of equity and justice I think you first need to join the race with seriousness. The only reason the PDP is opposed to the SE ticket is because you aren't active in the presidential race. The S/West is NOT the reason why your beloved PDP doesn't even consider you worthy enough for the ticket is because of you didn't present your candidates as formidable enough to win. Even Gov Yahayah Bello , irrespective of his poor scores in Kogi State is making stronger moves for the presidency than Peter Obi, Orji Kalu or Okorocha. |

There are bad roads in ALL States of the Federation. We need alternative systems of funding the constructions and maintenance of roads.
1) Let the FG hands up from the constructions and maintenance of roads and allow each States to contstructs roads within their territories.
2) More resources should be redistributed to the and generated by the States to fund and maintain their roads.
3) States that can finance the construction and maintenance of their roads can privatize these roads to the private sector. |

This isn't about antagonism. Tribes emerge from tribes especially tribes that live in close proximity to each. proeast: Minorities of SS are just lucky to have Igbos as neighbors. We have enough evidence to claim most of Rivers State, half of Delta and parts of Bayelsa and Edo states as our territories. However, we are business minded in nature which now makes small ethnic groups like ijaws to be encroaching on our lands. This mindset is the major reason most of the Southern Minority tribes supported the FG against Biafra during the civil war and are presently vehemently opposed to inclusion of their peoples into IPOB drawn Biafran Map It is the same reason why Rivers State was created in the first instance, the same reason why the Stadium in Port Harcourt was named LIBRATION Stadium and Gov Wike recently renamed it YAKUBU GOWON Stadium. |

SlayerForever: The area of research we are focusing on now is why the Izon and Nembe don't understand each other. We observed there are similarities but we also know despite these similarities they are distinct people. It would seem the Nembe are descended from Igbo and Izon mix of cultures mainly, with the Igbo being the bulk of the mix, as well as other cultures contributing too. Hence the distinction and drift from Izon, and resulting closeness to Igbo. But it is all hypothesis until proven with more information. It may also mean that Igbo partly descended from Nembe with contributions from neighbouring ancient tribes like Ekpeye. |

Though I understand his own Ikwerre very well but mine has some variation. For instance if I want to say here I would say: nha Wike would pa. There: me: nham, Wike;Pepi or pi. The Obio and Akpor variation is about 5%. Then when you get to Emuoha the variation becomes more pronounced. The further you move from PH to Ikwerre communities along east west road the more difference you get. But most times those in the deep end understand us in the urban areas of pH and Obio Akpor than we understand them. They have the v sounds of the Benin. Me; Come I say Bia someone from Emuoha would say Va. Me; Person: I say Badu. Emuoha: Vadu. Hall: me Obiri , Emuoha: Oviri. Nnamdi Kanu in his London hut started broadcasting lies and educated Igbos who know the difference between the Ikwerre man and the Igbos started listening to him. The competition we have in Rivers State is such that if truly the Ikwerres were Igbos it would not be the Igbos saying it. Kalabari would lead the campaign. If not then okirika or the Ogonis. But together with these tribes we all passed through the torture of our colonial masters the Igbos. The civil war liberated us. And that was why a stadium was built and named liberation stadium. As if that message wasn't passed clear enough Wike changed the name recently to Yakubu Gowon Stadium. You have a deep understanding of the Igbo-Ikwerre situation. |
