If your baby mama is good on bed (of couse you know she is) ,good mannered and God fearing why not upgrade her to the Status of a wife and watch how she will be loyal you. You will end her tears and the 'future tears' of your babies if you marry her. Most of the young, suave and 'happening' babes we like to run after are not better than the baby mamas we 'deride and reject' Assuming after dancing and rejoicing in your new mansion last night, you woke up this morning to rush and catch up with your daily activities as you are doing right now, and you saw your body still lying helplessly on the bed. You were shocked, You tried to pick up your iphone 6 to call your (Rev) pastor or relatives and you couldn't pick it up. You tried opening your wardrobe to pick some money you hid there and couldn't. You started crying but no one heard you. You try touching the gate to go out, but u just went right through it. You went outside and your house mates were chatting, but you were not recognised. After some minutes, you saw your house neighbours coming out of your room with a severe cry, hitting their hands on your brand new Range Rover Jeep. All you could hear them saying is *"HE IS GONE"* or *"SHE IS GONE"* You stood there watching them cry their hearts out in pain. So you asked yourself *WHERE EXACTLY AM I GOING?* Your spirit started crying bitterly, because you were not prepared to start that journey so soon. BRETHREN where exactly do you think you are going if you stop breathing right now?. *Are you aware of your final destination?* Remember your creator now because we have a place to go. So start preparing. Share to a group. I choose you to prompt every one for eternity and the only Lord and Saviour- *JESUS CHRIST.*HE alone can take you home (HEAVEN). Forward this message to help save a life! *Please Note:* this message is compulsory to share, pls share because you might not be able to go round evangelising. *GOD BLESS YOU FOR SHARING!*ure tears of your baby if you marry her. Now, clap for yourself and go and sit down. reality1010: Yorubas are devilish and evil minded.I wonder why God created them. Hope they r not the Moabites tribe we often read in the Bible. Think very sir. Are ALL Yorubas in support of Buhari? Are ALL Yorubas APC members? Is Tinubu=Yoruba people? Granted (but not conceding) that the Yorubas want to support Buhari in 2019 so as to push themselves to advantageous positions by 2023, does it make it illegal or bad?..Why do you think you people have the right to support GEJ or any of Buhari's opponents but the Yoruba people have no right to support Buhari or anyone they like? Politics is all about interests and pitching your tents where YOUR interests are best protected. #Stop calling Yoruba savages, HATRED is not good for your health sir. . Amumaigwe: We are not talking about Igbo presidency because Igbos don't look forward to it. What I want to make abundantly clear to you is that the presidency blackmail is not working and will never work.
Why will it not work? Because Igbos don't need it to excel. Why Yoruba are scheming to foist a mentally and morally bankrupt dying man on Nigerians a second time is because they are seeking to take over the instruments of government to enjoy undue advantage. This they intend to do even if it means Buhari completely ruining Nigeria over the next 4 years. Dangerous scavengers, what a shame. |

Where did you bigots get this nauseating idea that other Nigerians can't compete? How are you competing in Animal husbandry, meat and the leather industries? What told you that you are dominating the in the petroleum products distribution business across Nigeria? How are you coping in the Multibillion Naira Timber and logging industries? Are you the ones dominating the local production of iron and steel industries in Nigeria? Where is your domination of Nigeria Fashion and garment production? Are you dominating Nigeria's Newspapers industry? Are cash crops(cocoa, cashew nuts, palm kernels) production and export dominated by you? What give you the assumption that you dominate the private health sector in Nigeria? Is the Poultry industry dominated by you? Check the boards of directors of ALL the companies quoted on the NSE and see if you are dominating. #Park well Mr Bigot, ALL parts of Nigeria are working hard to contribute to the economy of Nigeria. Amumaigwe: Oga, we don't need Igbo president to excel. It is you lots that depend on government patronage that should bother about that presidency nonsense simply because you cannot compete.
Tell me where any genuine Igbo leader has shown obsession for presidency. Even Ohaneze has joined forces with IPOB to denounce the stupid lure by APC for Igbo votes by the phantom offer of Igbo presidency, reechoing their obsession rather for restructuring.
So go get another meaningful pasttime as these your leadership-hopefuls are the reason you are severely deprieved and Igbos don't need sympathy or any partnership not geared towards restructuring this shithol-e. |

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has given conditions that must be met before achieving genuine peace and reconciliation. The Group in a statement by its Deputy leader, Mr. Uche Mefor and head of directorate of state, Mr. Chika Edoziem gave the conditions to Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the South East governors. The conditions given include that: 1. Ohanaeze Ndigbo should lead Igbo governors in the public de-proscription of IPOB in the South East. 2. Ohanaeze Ndigbo must prevail on the Federal Government to de-proscribe IPOB. 3. An unreserved apology must be tendered to IPOB over the complicity of lgbo governors and Ohanaeze Ndigbo in instigating ‘Operation Python Dance’ that resulted in the death of hundreds of IPOB activists. 4. Ohanaeze Ndigbo should also tell us the whereabouts of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, his parents, Eze I. O Kanu and Ugoeze Sally N. Kanu and they should apologize to the Afaraukwu Ibeku community for their complicity in the invasion of the palace of their traditional ruler. 5. Again, the Federal Government should set up a high powered delegation to meet with IPOB High Command in Europe to negotiate terms for final status settlement. It is unclear if the affected persons and groups will grant all the above demands of the Pro-Biafra Group.

Culture › Re: Myth or Reality: Yoruba is closer to the Edos culturally than the East is. by oyatz(m): 10:27pm On Aug 08, 2018 |
Sir, I think you gradually getting the picture I am trying to paint. 1) Tribalism and indigenes Vs non-indigene construct is a very recent phenomenon that started in the 1940s and became widespread in the 1950s when our politicians started preparing to succeed the colonial masters. 2) Nigerian political economy is largely based on wealth sharing, a very divisive process even among siblings of the same parents. 3) The need to create a distinct identity as a condition to facilitate a better access to this wealth sharing is the main basis for tribalism in this country. 4) In truth, Nigeria don't have more than 100 different ethnic groups. Most of the so-called 'ethnic groups' are actually different subsets of the same groups. 5) The present ethic divisions are not water tight. There are many we now call Hausas but their grand or great-grand parents were from several minority tribes, same for Yoruba, Edo or Igbo ethnic groups. 6) The Oyo Empire was a very big Empire which included non-Yorubas tribes, some of the descendants of these peoples have been assimilated into the Yoruba Nation. 7) I repeat some Yoruba people are of Bini origin and some Edo people are of Yoruba origin. This why a Taiwo Akerele from Edo North is now the chief of staff to the Governor of Edo state and Ambrose Folorunsho Ali was the first executive Governor of the old Bendel State. 0balufonlll: Quite a number of people on this forum can say the same about their backgrounds.
At least we have both said the same things except that you broadened it.
The emboldened is Lagos, a center where intergroup mixture is high, a testing ground for the one Nigeria project. The hybrid 'indigenes' are expected to crop up into the political space but then that 'space' is limited, there are areas within the same Lagos their ambition won't fly.
Anywho, like I previously stated, the history and indigene-ship status of these people in the core Yoruba towns will and can be revisited any day they stretch their hands towards what isn't within their purview. This is my argument. |

Sir, without sounding inmodest, I am a product of Yoruba aristocracy with a deep understanding of Yoruba culture, yore and history. The agboles (there is no exact word for it in English language) are systems of arrangements/planing in a typical Yoruba town, often made up of clusters of buildings, inhabited by peoples of common ancestry ( and sometimes also with common family trades/occupation), departed members of the families ,the family shrines and common heritages like certain lands, regalia, drums or products from antiquities. However, peoples who weren't born in the agboles like slaves or sojourners who have lived long enough may become members of the agboles or their descendants may be. Also, there are some agboles that were started by 'non-indigenes' that excelled in the kingdom... # The Oshodi family and their agboles in Lagos island/Epetedo were started by a Tapa (Nupe) man, hence the name, Oshodi Tapa #The LORO chieftaincy family in Ilesha was started by a Bini ex-slave of the Owa Obokun adumula of Ijeshaland. #King Jaja of Opobo (real name was Jumo Jumofe )was an Igbo ex slave in the house of the Ama-pepples who became enculturated according to the Ijaw rituals to become an Ijaw man and eventually a king in Ijawland. In contemporary times, examples abound. 1) Sen Fatai Buhari (APC, Oyo North) is a great grandson of a Fulani settler in Ogbomosho 2) Mallam Ibrahim Shekarawu , is the son of a Barburi (a tribe in Borno State) parents who 'became' and rose to become the Governor of Kano State. 3) Olusegun Aganga from Sabongida-Ora in Edo State 'became' Yoruba and represented Lagos in Federal executive councils of Yar'Adua and Jonathan administrations 4) Gen Sani Abacha was the son of a Kanuri( originally from Niger Republic) cigarette seller in Fagge area of Kano who adopted Kano as his home state and he died as a 'Kano man' 5) High chief Okotie Eboh was born as Itskerir (real name ; Festus Edah) but died as an Urhobo 6) Dele Wiwa ,Ade Bendel and so many you assume are Yorubas are from Edo State. 7) If you go to Kano now, you will see many people who have Hausa, Fulani ,Igbo or Yoruba grandparents who have just adopted Kano as home State. In 25-30 years time, watch out for an Uche Adetunji, Tola Okon, Temitope Nzeribe or Segun Uzochukwu that may be or likely to be the Governor, senator or a high chief in Lagos. 0balufonlll: 1. Not true. Yoruba used & still use agbo ile to separate citizens from migrants. You could not just move into a community, occupy a land & build. The owner of that land or the king has to sanction the record of that settlement history is ‘filed’ in oriki or song or event narrative which are employed till today when people get out of hands with demands or relations generally.
2. Not true. Afonja’s army were mostly Yoruba, greedy ones & those who had scores to settle with other people in Oyo especially. The Hausa & Fulani mercenaries mostly ran to Alimi. After Oyo’s collapse they parted ways with Afonja & stuck with Alimi/Abdusalam. |

Sir, you probably didn't understand my post very because you are using the present ethnic grouping to view the past. 1) 250years ago, there was no Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Urhobo, Efik or Ijaw ethnic groups as we know them today. 2) Tribalism , ethnic consciousness and the need to create a 'we Vs them' classification as we know it today started long after 1914. 3) Ethnic groups are NOT fixed permanently, they change with time. Today, no body in Britain call himself Saxons,Anglos, Vandals, Normans or celts, we now have English, Welsh or Scotts. 4) Today, it will be very difficult for a Bariba man to become a Permanent secretary in Oyo State or a Bini to become a LG chairman in Anambra State but the royal dynasties in Ogbomosho and Kishi both in Oyo State were started by Bariba men. Centuries years ago,Oba Ozolua of Bini conquered many kingdoms and installed his sons on their thrones in Ijebu, Owo, Idoani, Okpe and Aboh. Till today, many Yorubas in Ondo, Ekiti, some in Ijesha, Ogun and Lagos States are of Bini origin. Many people in the present Edo, Delta and Kogi States are of Yoruba origin. . .we may not identity as the same people today but we are from the same sources. 5) All tribes emerge from previously existing tribes (usually within their vicinity) accelerated by varying mixing through conquest, marriage , trade or religion. The Aja people= Yoruba+ Ewe Itsekiri= Yoruba (80%)+Bini (10%)+ Ijaw Anioma= Bini+Igbo+Igala Ogori/Mangogo= Yoruba +Ebira +Nupe Eshan= Bini+Igbo+Igala +Yoruba Yoruba= Indigenous ancient peoples +Oduduwa groups +Bini + several neighboring tribes Kano= Hausa + Fulani+Karekare + Jukun Ikwere= Igbo+ Bini+Ijaw+ Ogoni French= Gauls+ Franks+ Romans Olu317: All in the name to group all different ethnic groups into one?You amaze me bro. I wish you have visited some local stalls, market places to see how the common people differentiate themselves, even among same ethnic groups. Kindly stop muddling issue up. Southern Nigeria aren't the same group of people even if there were later mutual relationship between different ethnic group or clans, after series of engagement on the war front. Nupe as you mentioned were Bariba,Tapa, Baruba,Éfà people, Igala extention etc and had been a long enemy of neighbouring towns of Yoruba groups, even if the word‘ Yoruba' became uniformly used around 18th-19th century to cover all Yoruba, irrespctive of location. A proverb illustrate this; oyatz, kindly ask a grounded yorubaman or woman to explain what it means to say, ‘à yè gbà Tàpà tàn o fé kò'lè igunu'. Does this mean,Yoruba and Tapa are same stock? Of course not . All migrants outside Ileife, during and after Odua took cognisance of their ancestral connection to ILE IFE,with panegyric( oriki). Mind you, all founding fathers of new Yoruba settlement ,mostly take along IFA priests, hunters, warriors and other priests of differnent ancestors of theirs to the new found lands, which direction were mostly based on IFA direction. Even in ancient Yoruba settlement, their exist different families that are grouped along, kings, queens, princes, princesses, chiefs, priests, servants, slaves, citizens and all group of people in the ancient society had panegyric ,which determined, who can be married to without discrimination. And yes, slaves and servants were lured to Ilórin by Àfónjá and not Àlìmì. He, Àlìmì was himself a servant of Àfónjá.Ilorin history have been dissected by historians and each family know her ancestors history. Contrary to your opinion, interwoven of southern Nigeria hasnt change the fact that each group know, where they migrated from, when matter arises. The Olukumi that fought for Bini left Bini, when things changed. What does that mean to you, when group of warrior left their extended relation? It simply meant ‘ oko kî in sì là mâ sì àalà. There is no reason to be sympathetic about this because,God didn't make mistake about language development, culture and mode of worship. Do you even know Ibos are more bodily hairy than Yorubas? I bet you have no idea about this or didnt care to note it because of your belief about southern Nigeria. People can be related, which is quite true but one's ethnic group come up before anything else. Among the Ga people, they still disagree on their different migration despite the favt they are a unified entity because of their ancestors history. The same can be said about Khoikhoi are the traditionally nomadic pastoralist non-Bantu indigenous population of southwestern Africa and San people that are once called Bushmen, who.merged as same group due to close proximity and marriages. Despite all humanoid are related, the difference still exist because of mode of life and different evolution. |

The truth is that the classification of peoples as Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Igala, Ijaw is a very recent thing which started just before total colonialism. Before that time, there was no tribal/ethnic groups as we know it today and we only had kingdoms/Empires. The old kingdoms/empires WERE NEVER FULLY HOMOGENEOUS. There was nothing like tribalism or 'non indigenes' then. Any one living in any kingdom were regarded as indigenes of that kingdom. 'Non-indigenes' that showed great military skills or business acumen were even knighted or given chieftaincy titles. Many of the young men who in the armies who defended/fought for Igala,Ijebu, Ijesha ,Agbor ,Ado Kingdoms or the Bini and Oyo empires were actually ex-slaves captured from neighbouring towns. Two classical examples=> 1) The descendants of Yoruba soldiers fighting for the Bini empire are the present 'Olukumi' in Anioma and others scattered in Afemai.
2) Afonja's army in Ilorin were largely composed of ex-Hausa slaves who escaped from their Oyo masters, itinerant Fulani men recruited through Sheu Alimi and some Nupe mercenaries all of whom were 'non indigenes' who were not expected to be sympathetic to the Alaafin and were willing to help Afonja in the civil war to secede from the Old Oyo Empire. |
Culture › Re: Myth or Reality: Yoruba is closer to the Edos culturally than the East is. by oyatz(m): 7:53am On Aug 04, 2018 |
Until Nigeria was formed in 1914, the Binis and Yorubas didn't even see themselves as different peoples. Many Yoruba people (including royal families) in Ondo, Ekiti, some parts of Osun, Ogun and Lagos have Bini origin and many people in the Old Bini Empire were of Yoruba ancestry.
Read about the famous pilgrimage of Owa Atakumosa of Ijeshaland to Bini and the historical events connected with it in Ilesha, Ipetu, Akure, Owo and Bini (Ile-Ibinu).
As a matter of fact, most tribes in Southern Nigeria are interwoven, closely related and acted as such until tribalism was introduced in the 1940s to 1950s in the course of preparation for independence as a mean to earn 'better deals' in the new emerging country. |

No, they must join Biafra. Kogi, Benue, Kaduna and Adamawa States should also be part of Biafra. . BrownRoofRep: I agree but you should note that Benin empire was not only made up of Benin alone. Some Igbos and other groups were part of it but that does not make them all Benin.
You should also note that if Benin is to form a country, you should not consider encroaching others as you did in the Benin Empire era. From what I've seen, Benin is fighting tooth and nail to take Delta with them hence their recent revived BenDel slogan.
I also disagree with whomever that is saying that Benin must join Yoruba. They are big enough and well equipped to stand on their own if the need arises. They just have to look inwards and cultivate their inbuilt strength. Thanks. |

Very naive political analysis and postulations. It is very difficult for someone like Saraki to be President of Nigeria in this present ethonoreligious based pattern of voting. The identity crisis Saraki and the political elites in Ilorin foisted on themselves make it more difficult to be president. The core North don't regard them as Fulani and will not abandone a Fulani irredentist like Buhari to queue behind Olubukola, the son of Olushola &Florence Saraki, the brother of Gbemisola & Olanrewaju Saraki and the husband of Oluwatoyin Saraki. The father of the Senate president, the late Dr Olushola Saraki (Oloye), despite of his enormous connections, political structures, education, wealth and privileged background was a victim of the identity crisis. benben1000: Both of them are equally smart and WELL EDUCATED. Saraki is a UK trained doctor and specialist, and Ekweremadu is a distinguished legal luminary and visiting law lecturer at University of Louisiana, Baton Rouge.
