Chill my Friend. Better advice your mentor Tinubu not to delve into murky waters of presidential ambition. He should be Godfather to ambitious people. He has seen it all. Let him anoint instead of nursing the ambition. Maybe, he has more money to waste! My Take.
It's better that Tinubu pursue his presidential ambition to a logical conclusion. This will enrich our democratic culture and help to define how we want to run it.

Jonathan did more than this and still lost.

He got all Yoruba Obas to point their staff at him (don’t if they laid curse on him then since he doesn’t understand Yoruba grin).

He knelt down at David Oyedepo’s alter.

The witches association endorsed him.

But nothing came out.

I just wanted to remind Tinubu urchins before they start rejoicing.
Nobody becomes a president of a Nation unless he/she is pre-destined.

Jonathan was destined by God to become the leader of the greatest country in Africa.

If it's part of the destiny of Tinubu to be president, he will be. . .the God-factor is the ultimate decider.

All these agricultural produce won't give you the necessary forex to sustain a country the way Oil does. No country survives effectively selling kolanuts. Better look at the bigger picture.
CRUDE oil is a raw material ,which Nigeria is selling in it's raw form to get Forex, to import finished materials like drugs, vehicles, designers wears, chocolate etc.

All these Agricultural raw materials can be turned to semi-finished or even finished goods to get Forex or even get the goods we need without going through Forex e.g if we can plant thousands of acres of sugar canes, we can harvest them and refine the canes to produce sugars for our domestic and industrial consumption without the need for Forex.
The bye-products from the refining of sugar can become raw materials for the production of Fish and poultry feeds.

Unlike the oil industry that doesn't employ many of our people, these Agricultural based industries will employe so many people in different parts of the country.

The amount of money we use to import goods, derived from these Agricultural produce is far higher than whatever we receive as rents/royalties by the International oil companies for extracting and exporting our crude oil.

I was born in the north and being from Ondo state (though mother from Ilorin) but since I stay and more used to my Ikare side, I tends to speak Ikare dialect more.

You may not know though if I switched to the general Yoruba because I grew up among people from Oyo and Osun state but these groups still find a way to ridicule my Ikare dialect when Is speak it to family men.
I'm not really ashamed to speak the Ikare dialect and I make it a point to explain to them that Ondo,Ekiti,Ijebu and Okun dialects are closer to proto Yoruba language than Oyo dialect that has shown my innovation due to their closeness with Nupes, Borugu etc.
The general Yoruba language is a modification of the dialect of Oyo which because of the legacy of the Oyo Empire was the most widely spoken when the Yoruba orthography were formulated.

It however should be noted that Oyo Empire included non-Yoruba peoples and had close interactions with highest number of other peoples like Nupe, Hausa, Songhai, Malians, Fulani, Ewe and Fon.
In the process , their languages was influenced by all these peoples e.g The now accepted Yoruba name for

Define "downhill"
Water will flow along the line of least resistance driven by gravity. That could be West to East , North to South or vice versa. The person I quoted implied North to South is downhill.

The issue is that downhill does not mean North to South. Do not just interject yourself in other people's conversation because you feel you must talk

What do you mean by downhill. huh
You might need geography lessons too as you appear to have half knowledge which is more dangerous than no knowledge.

The course of the river Niger is a matter of fact . Nothing to do with "downhill"
As a matter of fact for several kilometres after its origin in Guinea the River Niger flows northwards before turning southwards

FYI and education

The North is not "UP" and the South "DOWN" . Those are arbitrary specifications. just like East and West or writing from left to right. If you look at older maps the "north" was at the top and vice versa

It is funny how many people believe that
The North pole is the TOP OF THE WORLD and the South Pole is AT THE BOTTOM
There are rivers that flow from south to north e.g. The NILE

The question of "downhill" is ignorant.
The guy is correct, water flow downhill. However, downhill does NOT necessarily mean South.

In the case of River Niger, the River flow downhill along a North-South direction from the in-land Delta to the coastal Delta. Ironically, it flow downhill from South to North from it's origin in the Guinean highlands to the in-land Delta around Gao.

2) Will the people planting sugar cane, rice, beans, onions, pepper, ginger stop working?

3) Will the timber , cocoa, kolanuts business stop?
4) Will the production of eggs and poultry products end?

The invasion of Korea by the super-powers about 70years still have consequences.

In Nigeria, the present political structure that's highly centralized causing undue tension was done by the military.

Today, we are still talking about removal of subsidy on Petroleum products because the military created a monster called NNPC and saddled the FG with the responsibilities of exploring, refining, importing ,distributing and selling petroleum products at the same price all over a vast country like Nigeria.

1) Oduduwa was NOT a Yoruba man.
There was nothing like Yoruba during his time.

2) Not all Yorubas descended from Oduduwa. In fact, only certain royal families and their extended families descended from Oduduwa.

3) Oduduwa being referred to as the father of the Yorubas is largely a figurative expression.

At best, he was the founder of the largest and most enduring dynasties among those who later formed the Yoruba people.

4) Ile-Ife, Ijero, Ire and several towns in the S/West existed before Oduduwa.

Around 2013, an archeaological excavation just outside Iresi, a small town in Osun State revealed the remnants of a 5000 year old Community.

You don't have deep knowledge about what you are discussing.

* There is no language called Okun. Okun is the way ways Yorubas salute each other while working and it literally mean 'strength'

The word Okun was adopted based on the suggestions of the ace Historian, Prof Ade Obayemi and other elites from the old Kabba province as a name to identify certain Yoruba speaking people of the province that share close relationships.

There are other people that also speak Yoruba language in addition to thier distinct languages in Kogi but have assimilated substantial Nupe and Ebira population and thus consider themselves non-okun e.g Oworo and the Ogori-mangogo people respectively.

However, the most important issue is , do Okun people consider themselves as Yoruba?

The answer is an overwhelming YES.

During the time of civil war that lasted for three years (1967-1970) was due to a disagreement on aburi accord meeting. In article 8 of the aburi accord general Gowon made... should i say a deliberate declaration. The really offending clauses of the decree were sections 70 and 71 of article 8 which empowered the military council to declare a state of emergency in Nigeria, if the Head of State and at least three of the Governors agreed to do so. Section 71 also empowered the Head of state in agreement with at least three Governors to legislate for any particular region whenever they deemed it fit during a state of emergency, with or without the consent of the Governor of that particular region. In effect, Gowon had taken power unto himself to deal with Ojukwu whenever he pleased, how he pleased and as long as he pleased.

Since that very time up till now everybody is scared of having an igbo president. Are we monsters that everybody is scared of us? If you dont want us to rule then allow us to conduct a referendum but you still say NO. So many times people in this forum say igbos dont have respect, we insult people alot therefore we dont deserve to produce a president from our region. Just look at how we are scattered all over the country creating major impact in economy yet for some reason we cant be trusted. What is the major insecurity up north if not the mineral resources but you call if farmers herders clash. Just yesterday the president ordered for six months progress report on solid mineral. Gold is being mined for several years up north with no accountability but when an igbo person talk about presidency everybody will on there fit to push us down.

So i am asking what have we done to deserve this level of mockery?
There's no mockery anywhere.

If an Igbo wins the presidential primaries of a major polital part, he can win.

The north has utterly rejected the idea of a Northern Christian VP candidate...just a VP o, not even a presidential candidate yet you want the largely Christian South not to only accept one Muslim handing over to another after 8 years, but also to embrace a Muslim-Muslim ticket that could potentially ensure 24 straight years of Muslim leadership. That seems fair to you, right?.
My stand is a capital NO to involvement of religions in Government.
It only became a great issue after 1986 when Nigeria joined the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and it hasn't brought us any good at all.

In the old Western Region, Awolowo and his deputy Premier and chosen, successor, SLA Akintola were both Christians.

In the Second Republic, Gov Lateef Jakande and Deputy Gov Rafiu Jafojo were both Muslims and nobody raised any eyebrows. Their Administration is the best in the history of Lagos State.

Gen Gowon and his deputy, Admiral Adewale Wey were both Christians.

1983 Dec 31-1985 Aug-27: Gen Muhammadu Buhari and his deputy, Gen Tunde Idiagbon were muslims.

In the 1979 presidential election, Awolowo & Emeadu ran on the plateform of the UPN and nearly won the election if not for the Judicial intervention with it's 12 two-third controversy.

In Nigeria, most people think that Government should do certain things for them like

* Education
*Health services etc

In this era, Government alone can play this roles well. There is an urgent need to concession the provision of portable water to the private water companies.
