Lashist: As far as I'm concerned APC/PDP may still keep ruling but i dont have anything good to say about any of their politicians. Everything they do is about their selfish interests. In this case, who do you mean by "he"?? You mean tinubu?? There are many parties in the country, so there are opportunities to chose from several other alternatives. I never mentioned any candidate, so you should name your candidate whom you believe can solve the problems and start campaigning for him because someone must become the president and this person is already existing. |

The day I called him a Yoruba man he became furious and nearly dropped me with a Drew-McIntyre-liked Claymore kick and after that day I came to the realization that most Kogites hates to be associated with Yoruba people. This is not true. If you want object answers ,go to the official Facebook page of Yagba, Kabba or the Okun people. They will tell you who they wish to be identified as. |

Zenithh: Big lie
Kogites will proudly claim Yoruba. Unlike ibos. A delta man from Aniona will tell u plainly he is delta and not Ibo.
I think for them it boils down to the way the real ibos have succeeded in tarnishing their image both locally and internationally. When it comes to fake drugs, drug trafficking, fake products, cheating, wickedness the Ibo man dey for front.
Be good and pple will want to identify with you.
I am not saying there are no bad eggs in Yoruba land or among d yorubas It's not about the Igbos but a generalized mentality to be 'independent' in Nigeria but it's over bloated with the Igbo because they always go to the media (especially social media) to complain against or even start insulting these outliers for not being proud of or rejecting their assumed Igbo ethnic tags. The latter phenomena became very obvious following the emergence of IPOB. |

Ekejoestar: Honestly what the OP said it's true though I haven't given any thought to it but I've seen many people claiming kogi state but they speak Yoruba and it have made me think that maybe kogi is a distinct tribe on its own but I personally know two people who claims they are not Yoruba but kogi, I live in Ogun State Atan to be precise and deals in plumbing materials and most of my customers are yorubas, so don't doubt me. Kogi is a multi-ethnic State with the following three major ethnic groups; *Igala (Mainly in Kogi East) * Ebira (Mainly in Kogi central) *Yoruba (Mainly in Kogi West). There are however overlap of these ethnic groups in different towns/villages e.g Koton-Karfe = Ebira + Igala. Ogori-mangogo= Yoruba + Ebira + Ancient proto-yoruba group. |

Arda1000: Am not from Kogi but Kogi is just a state so which means it's an artificial creation,if your ethnicity is Yoruba and you are from Kogi state it doesn't make you any difference from a Yoruba from Lagos yeah they might be a dialect difference, the same applies to Igbo and other ethnic groups in Nigeria.
An Hausa man from Nigeria sees an Hausa man from Niger more as a brother than a Yoruba or Igbo man Even there are many prominent Yoruba men known widely in Nigeria that are not really from the S/West but from Kwara or Kogi e.g Kogi: Pastor Sam Adeyemi Late Prof Pius Adesanmi Deji Adeyanju Late Sen SB Awoniyi Sen Dino Melaye Hon James Abiodun Faleke Smar Adeyemi Debbie Rise Kwara: Lai Mohammed Bishop David Oyedepo Joseph Ayo Babalola Senator SS Ajibola Pasuma (Wasiu Alabi Odetola) Kollingthon Ayinla (Kolawole Ilori) Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe who defeated the Ex-senate President, Bukola Saraki. Kogi state Yoruba will fight you dirty if you dare call him any other tribe. Only Igbo of other regions do everything possible to deny their root. Not necessarily sir. Although most Yorubas in Kogi are proud of their Yoruba identies but there are some groups that may wish to stand alone like some of the Ogori-mangogo people who also have partly Ebira ancenstries, though they bear Yoruba names and speak Yoruba language |

I grew up in Lagos and can vouch that the way Ibadan Yoruba sounds different to Lagos Yoruba is the way Anambra Igbo is to those in Ugwuocha, Igbanke, Anioma etc. You are making the same error. You said a non-Igbo should not speak for the Igbos but you want to speak for the Yorubas. Staying in Lagos doesn't mean you have a deep understanding of the Yoruba language. |

This is very laughable.
1) There is no mention of tribes in our laws when computing the criteria for winning the presidential election but there are mentioning of States. How much votes do the parties get or likely to get from each State?
2) The OP made a subtle wrong assumption that votes received by the PDP were casted by the Igbos.
This is a big fallacy sir. There are PDP members/fans/sympathizers from Fulani, Nupe, Yoruba, Ijaw, Urhobo and all other tribes. |

benfluleck: This is how Aids (maybe Ebola) started, they don't even know if the thing is carrying one incurable disease. They will just be eating to their death small time they will be coughing and going to native doctor. HIV started like this around 1900 when hunters in Congo (Zaire) hunted and were butchering Chimpanzees such that the blood of these animals mistakenly mixed with human blood via a cut on the skin of the hunters, thus the animal virus called Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV) underwent modifications in the hunters to transform into a new (human) virus called Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The disease was largely restricted to the village until around 1920s when construction of railways reached the village and construction workers had sex with the villagers and returned to the cities to spread it. By 1959, the disease we now called HIV/AIDS was already known in Congo but the locals thought it was caused by evil spirit until a man afflicted with the disease came to a Gov't Hospital in Kinshasha where the Belgian doctors treated him for months until he eventually died. Because the cause of this strange disease was unknown, these European doctors collected his blood samples for storage in a central laboratory as a specimen for further researches. In 1982 after HIV was discovered in the USA, multiple scientific investigations were launched to unraveled the cause and this led to recalling the samples of the Congolese man that died in 1959 and it was tested for HIV, the result came out positive! |

9jalyte: Ok, no argument. So, all the things you mentioned as Tinubu's achievements are really worthy of commendation. Just look at what you are counting as achievements. Mimiko achieved more in Ondo with a lower GDP/allocation/IGR. You guys fail to understand that the side of Lagos economy is not the making of the Lagos State Government. It is the Lagos advantage that dates back to pre-colonial era. And you also fail to understand that Lagos economy is bigger than that of many countries in Africa and beyond. And these countries are maintaing full responsibility of a country and better than even Nigeria, yet Lagos cannot deliver upto half of what they are doing.
Please note that not everyone is a slowpoke that can be swayed with the story of "new Lagos" that is only a wish. Bros, Tinubu is NOT the only aspirant. Start promoting Atiku/Wike ticket or Tambuwal and what they are likely to do to solve the problems in Nigeria. |
