Penguin2: Exactly! There’s nobody that can’t win election if the party decide to work for him.
And I don’t see anything that would work against Onu. You now understand my stand. Nigerian democracy need to mature to a stage where ANY citizen can be able to aspire to occupy any office, go around the States to solicit support for his aspiration and test his level of acceptability in the party primaries. This is why I am strongly against the attempts to force a particular candidate out of the race. People who do this don't understand the implications of their actions. It's better to encourage the candidates they prefer to join the race and work for his victory. |

You know you like looking for my trouble Honestly, Dr Ogbonaya Onu, whom I have always admired from the time that he was the Chairman of the National Governors Association the precursor of NGF in 1992 should join the presidential race. We need as many people as possible to participate in the race because it will make the national discussions/debates more robust and there may even be neutralization of negative forces. The excuse that someone can't win is immaterial. |

Kwankwanso is not a man that plays second fiddle let alone to his deputy
For ganduje to be ready to work with him even as opposition it means he is supporting rabiu for his highest quest or better still partnering with rabiu for pro north interest 2023
Don't forget ganduje has already succumb to shekaaru leadership, right now tinubu is left fallow in kano Every issue doesn't have to involve Tinubu. In ALL political parties, people disagree and may even fight. They also reconcile at times. I am surprised that you don't know this. |

AntonVince: Another SWAGA cum Tinubu-sponsored hogwash.
What exactly does the North you so much hinge your electoral hope on stand to gain from a Tinubu candidacy? ...and so what if the party loses with Tinubu? I mean how does the APC's post-2023 survival potentially benefit northerners? The APC is just a political party...a vehicle for God's sake and not a religion!

With Buhari's ascension in 2015, the party has since achieved the fundamental purpose of its formation which was to oust GEJ and install a northerner. The Bullion-Van criminal is the only person so desperate for the APC's survival all for his selfish, greed-driven ambition.
Atiku will most likely fly the PDP's ticket in 2023 and will definitely win the north...including most APC-controlled states. Nobody owes Tinubu nothing! Let me explain party politics to you. 1) Everybody has one or two Personal interests in politics. 2) What we call collective interests is actually a summation of several personal interests. 3) Political parties give politicians and the electorates the vehicles to actualize their personal interests. 4) ordinary masses like you most likely don't directly benefit anything from the political parties, so your interests is often limited to sentimental feelings that 'our tribe/region' is in power or the tribe/Region that we hate is not in power. 5) However, real politicians stand to directly benefit from the victories of a particular party or the other and they always work to ensure their parties win. For instance, if PDP should win the presidential election, the chances of APC candidates to become Senate President or win Governorship or Senatorial elections will greatly diminish. Many Northern politicians who worked against their party, the PDP also lost their political relevance in their States, though majority of the Northern heavy duty politicians have crossed to the APC by Dec,2014. For the PDP to win in 2023, a sizable chunk of the APC need to decamp to the PDP. |

Kriss216: You're right. APC might give the ticket to SS or SE to finish Tinubu patapata. This move will make the SW neutral in 2023 election.
The North will win via Atiku.
This is the situation we were trying to avoid in 2015 and 2019, but, the Yorubas were calling us 3rd class citizens, that we don't know how to play politics.
No one should talk about Southern unity until after the 2023 elections. We must learn the hard way. And after Atiku has won, what do you think will happen to politicians in the APC? |
Politics › Re: The Bola Tinubu Dilemma: Does APC Want To Win With Him Or Lose Without Him? by oyatz(m): 8:02pm On Dec 22, 2021 |
BabbanBura: Mark my word, APC will give the ticket to Igbos to spite Tinubu (Yorubas) but the whole North will support Atiku against the Igbo candidate. This way, the Igbos will have only votes from the east alone, likewise the Yoruba votes largely from west alone because these two regions wont vote for each other. The north will vote Atiku across parties and give him the victory!
Exception to this is if Igbos and Yorubas will unite to support an Igbo candidate but this can never happen in Nigeria, atleast not in 2023.
However, if Tinubu drops his greedy ambition and push forward Osibanjo or Adeshina (AFDB guy), then even the north will have divided votes for Atiku and the APC will surely win whoever the PDP fields be it Atiku or an Igbo man You don't really understand democracy and party politics. Tinubu should pursue his presidential ambition to logical conclusion and damn all consequences. Our political parties will be more matured if any candidate can contest for the party's tickets unhindered. Those who don't win today can win tomorrow. Candidates freely participating in presidential elections will inspire future generations that the ballot box is the appropriate route to seek elective positions while we continue to evolve better systems. The prevailing opinions that make virtually all discussions about the 2023 limited to Tinubu is unhealthy for the country. |

AustineE1: Tinubu online urchins doing what they know how to do best. In the coming months watch out for the south west media painting Tinubu as the messiah. No matter how hard they try,Tinubu is not marketable, he is seen as an epitome of corruption(bullion van politics), both him and his family are power drunk.we have seen in the past how he maltreated those who don't dance to his tone and his wife's penchant for slapping notable men and often making derogatory statements against other ethnic groups. The core north will never vote Tinubu, middle will not vote him,South east and south south are no go areas. The earlier he smells the coffee the better for him. If in anyway he gets the APC ticket, the north knows the game,PDP brings an Atiku or any other strong northerner, they north will ditch APC and line behind their son and the greater south who felt betrayed by Tinubu will never vote Tinubu. That I have seen. For Tinubu is a lose lose situation Okay, after all these what next? |

Politics › Re: 2023: Reno Omokri Endorses Atiku Abubakar by oyatz(m): 6:26am On Dec 21, 2021 |
wink2015: Not that Reno Omokri doesn't not want an Igbo man to be President of Nigeria.
Reno being an intelligent man with his experience in government know most northerners will vote for Atiku.
Atiku has business interest in Lagos, port Harcourt, warri etc including other parts of Nigeria
He was a former vice president under Obasanjo.
The northerners that is the northern political elites are strongly against a president from the south east region.
Because of the advantages in terms of population that the north has in swinging the votes including the power of incumbency.
It is obvious the north has the leverage in deciding who become president of Nigeria.
The choice of Atiku for President might be related to Atiku pan Nigeria connection. He has Yoruba,Igbo and northern wife.
As for the Igbo themselves they are not united.
Open the 2023 presidency to an Igbo born president they will continue to rush in their hundreds to pick up presidential forms.
The Anambra state elections which saw hundreds of aspirant playing do or die to campaign for a single public office and this was the test case of an aspirant who might be day dreaming of contesting the presidency.
The Igbo who join the national party should be comfortable with Atiku as president of Nigeria with Peter Obi as vice president.
It will be a mere wishful thinking for some Igbo to be thinking that 2023 presidency must be given to them on a platter of gold without the Igbo joining a national party to contribute their we quarter.
Apga as a south east party that is even limited to some south eastern states like Anambra state can not sell 2023 presidency to the extent that an Igbo man succeed to become president.
Who knows Peter Obi might succeed Atiku.
For the Yoruba they should know that it is not their turn having ruled Nigeria under Obasanjo government.
But they are bringing Tinubu that Buhari does not like the man Tinubu to succeed him
If it is Prof Yemi Osinbanjo vice president or Babatunde Fashola, works and housing minister, Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi the south west is putting forward they stand a brighter chance as far as 2023 presidency is concerned.
Tinubu does not stand a chance of becoming president because President Muhammadu Buhari is not comfortable with people nursing restructuring agenda and NADECO agenda.
The recent activities of IPOB which resulted in the burning of police station and the killing of security officers working for different security agencies has worsen the Igbo ability to sell their aspirant candidacy to the north.
The south south region does not have serious presidential aspirant as far as 2023 is concerned.
Ex-President Jonathan has been going to Asorock to lobby Buhari for the 2023 presidential office.
But Buhari does not seem to consider Jonathan aspiration as best for his interest or Nigeria. From the first part of this post: are you saying an igbo candidate can't be elected as president because the Northerners don't want an igbo man? And if this assertion is true, what makes you think that it will change after 2023? |
