You don't really know what it means to conquer a people, when the USA president Biden said if their military had stayed back another five years in Afghanistan it wouldn't have changed anything, you think he doesn't know what he is saying. To really conquer people isn't by the military alone, it is by the ideology. You can easily overpower people with a superior military technology but if your military victory cannot produce any ideological changes in the minds of those people, it is just a matter of time before those people you've "conquered" will rise up against you and turn you the conqueror into the conquered. USA understands this fact that Afghanistan is an ancient power that will be difficult to convince to abandone or blend its cultures along with Western styles, the fact that they are behind today in terms of modern technology doesn't mean you should take them for granted. Technology can be learned and developed by people at anytime just like the rise of China caught the West by surprise.

If you want to know what it means by conquering people, then you can take a look at the West colonialising of Africa, they take away our cultures and religions while giving us theirs, we accepted them because we think our cultures and traditions are inferior to theirs. You don't even need to invade a country militarily in order to conquer it, if you can effect ideological changes in the minds of the people by any means, then you've conquered them.

However, this is not to say there are not many good sides to the westernization of Africa, but the problem is Africans totally abandoning their own for someone else's cultures, instead of learning from the West on how to develop and modernize their indigenous practices.
