Shollypopz: WOW!! Such insolence!.......Why so much beef?? I was only jokingCommon, I was jokin too. (maybe I should have added a smiley !) Anyway, I apologize if you find my response offensive, I didn't expect it to come across that way. |
to balance things I also like shola and Popoola (or whatever . . .) and beau girls who are into naked Egyptian mummies and painted faces |
Shollypopz: hmmmm........why am i thinking of Slimyem??You'r definitely thinking too much. Now get back to work and justify your boss' pay (or school or whatever you do . . .) |
I love names like Yemisi (the meaning is similar to my name, more like the female version) I like Fadoju and I also like slim Yoruba girls who talk a lot since am a bit on the quiet side |
nikkyshyne:Now Nikky's gettin Scary (grabs a bible . . . ) No weapon fashioned against me . . . . . especially from 666 people ![]() By the way, cute lookin girl on your profile. Abi na you be that ? |
nikkyshyne: ^^^Yea right!!When the weirdo sconsults was talking , you were forming sarcastic ![]() Do you know every thing happens for a reason and there's no smoke without fire ![]() That your response (to sconsults) was your Six hundred and Sixty sixth post (666) hmmmmm . . . . You really need prayers O. Don't say I didnt tell you. |
. . and for those saying that news outlets have not picked it up. Well there was a bomb blast in Sabon Layi about 3 days ago and few media houses reported about it. Its like we are gradually developing a thick skin to all these 'bomb news' in the North. For instance, in the last two months, there has been some minor (sorry to use the word minor here cos it involves human lives) attacks that completely went under the radar in Gombe. I know this because I have some doctor friends who tells me about cases reffered to the hospital. The same thing also happens in Maiduguri and Biu in Borno. So many Bomb and Gun attacks that are no longer reported as news. |
Yabayakaka: Rumour tinz....am presently in gombe nw....nothing is happening hiaAs much as I agree we will still need more witnesses to have full confirmation . . . . but you have to realize that you do not stay in every part of the town. And if something happens at Ashaka road for instance, it might take a while for someone in BCGA to hear about it. The report I heard says the incidence occurred around the Tudun Wada end of town. Well, if we can get anybody staying in Tudun Wada, then that will be fine, if not we'll have to wait till tommorrow for the full gist to break |
I just heard from a reputable source (not a news agency but a trusted person) that bombs are exploding in Gombe township as I type and residents can even hear what seems like sporadic gunshots. Please Nairalanders in Gombe should update us as events unfold. When will all this stop. And to think that I was supposed to be in Gombe before weekend !! |
Wow Inspired !!!! This your audi is so clean I feel like licking it !!!!. I should have considered this ride but then I travel around a lot especially in the North. And such cars prove so problematic for (some) Mechanics especially when you're not stable in one place Sorry to bump into your thread. but I need to make this enquiry How much does it cost to land a 2003 corrola (CE and S versions). Ditto the 2009 model. And the cost you normally post online, does it include clearing (or do I as a buyer need to do the clearing myself once it lands in lag ? ) |
serrajay: This is mine in MPGNice site, I've bookmarked it. ba_aliyah: My 97 civic average on 11.3km/l. 01 camry l4 is on 9.5km/l (city and highway averages)You'r right bro. I was actually checking the value in miles per gallon. The correct figure in km/l is between 8.5 and 11.5 ![]() Ivoo: seems most of u are just driving with no idea of how far u can go wit certain litres of fuel. Let me help u out: causual driving like town service driving consumes 7kms to 8kms per litre while distant or long journey consumes the avearage of 12kms per litre. Some toyota cars can take u as afar as 15kms per litres. The reason is simple, when a car is firing on 5 speed at 100kms to 110kms per hour, that is when u get the maxium economy. At this level, combustion is complete. But when u speed up to 120/140kms per hour, u ll be consuming twice as much fuel than normal. At this point fuel economy is just about 6kms per litre. Try it and see. Make ur calculations wit the size of ur tank and the distant covered, u ll realise what i am saying. Thanks. If u find this tips important, send email to ivokingjur@yahoo.com for more inf.The reason why it seems the car is consuming more fuel at those high speed is because most of the time, You r accelerating to get to that speed. If you can maintain constant velocity (without acceleration) at that speed (probably on a good road and relatively straight and traffic free road like abuja/keffi or airport to abuja town - Yar adua road ) then you will realise that your fuel consumption rate per km is actually at its lowest. Infact at such constant speeds my car reaches 'cut off' i.e. the fuel consumption is at an extremely low state that the gauge can no longer give an accurat reading. This are some of the tips they teach when you are learning to drive in a 'low fuel consuming' manner |
berem: Another silly post! How on earth will I know that? Do u expect me to be carrying my calculator to know how many litres I consume per kilometre? Next topic pls!The post isn't silly. Its your response that's silly. checks and sees the 'f' sign. Calms down - no wonder checks again and sees the profile pix - now totally calm. Berem, if that's really you in that pix - then I apologize immediately and I wont mind you inviting me to help with the calculation of your car's fuel consumption . . . but if its not you then I still maintain that your response is SILLY |
Few ppl have been able to give a succinct answer (most are rather cracking jokes) Mine consumes btw 12&13Km/l on the highway (that is when travelling) and bte 10&11 Km/l when within town. Its a bit on the high side (online sources say a honda accord should average 19Km/l) but then I cant complain too much, its a nine yr old car after all |
A bnajmyboolah: I know you can get free office suites that are equally as good. I use openoffice, its the same thing. As much as I like to support FOSS cos I primarily work with open source tools. I must admit that open office cannot hold a candle to Msoft office suite. I mean you cant compare calc and writer to excel and office. A colleague once tried to create a range on open office and it went like 28th, 29th, 30th, 31th, 32th, 33th . . . . Maybe in future they'll catch up (like Mozilla did to explorer) but right now they'r still behind |
Isale_eko: You better not go and knock someone up if you are not ready to be with them. The poster is even lucky that his baby sleeps 6 hrs through the night and his is complaining. My first baby, now 7 months, gave us a hell of a time as she would not sleep for more than two hours at a stretch during the night. But she would go 4 - 6 hrs straight during the day.Am not a woman (and obviously not a new mum) but the way you guys have been going on about babies staying awake at night just makes me smile. I think my wife will be a very happy person especially as regards that because I've. been a night person long since my sec school days. Right now, though am not married but I end up staying awake at nite most of the time. Sometimes I think its a disorder of sorts but then am not bothered cos it favours my Job (am into IT) and nothing's cooler than working at night (and I also have the flexibility of deciding wether to go to the office or not if am not meeting clients ). 3 nights ago, I had to take a six hour trip early the next day(I was driving) and I could not sleep until about 3.AM in the morning. It was plain crazy. I just had to pick two random people on the way (A couple) to keep me from dozing on the wheels. Anyway with what am seeing on this thread, I think I'll just keep up the habit until I've finished raising babies then I'll seek a solution ![]() Really makes me feel like 'knocking up' someone right now and being delivered of the baby this night . . . . but then the biq question is who is that someone ![]() |
where exactly did this happen ? I used to stay along Wamba rd. in T/wada 3 to 4 yrs ago |
blank: My father, sister and i studied same course. Kini big deal?Funny enough, the scenario is similar for me. My dad, my sister and I studied the same course. (though am male, anyway) |
pak: For those with high fuel consumption issues or any other problem that requires scanning. If you stay around Abuja or Jos. I am willing to help scan your car for free (free as in speech and free as in beer ).@Cachez I work in Garki 2, not far from Apo Bridge. You can drop a mail at ponpakap@gmail.com (though I hardly check the box !) better still, if you leave a number , I'll try to buzz you |
For those with high fuel consumption issues or any other problem that requires scanning. If you stay around Abuja or Jos. I am willing to help scan your car for free (free as in speech and free as in beer ). This is my own little way of contributing to the auto forum for the numerous assistance I've received from great guys like Ikenna, Sultan, Sienna and a host of others too numerous to mention |
Good job e-herbal. We experienced the same thing last saturday (Apr 28) here in Jos. Though I wasn't too prepared but I was able to take 1 or 2 pix. However due to the fact that it was quite hot earlier in the day. Most melted immediately they touched the ground but then it was really huge the biggest I've experienced yet.

PAK popularly know as Prophet Pak has prophesied that German Giants Bayern Munich will lift this year's UEFA champion's league trophy. And infact Chelsea will be thoroughly outplayed during the game . . . . . . |
toba: were the sensors replaced or serviced?Nope, He neither replaced nor serviced them. He only worked on the P2649 error - Rocker Arm Oil Control Solenoid Circuit High Voltage. and also worked on the issue of high idling. I gave him some money to procure the sensors on monday but on getting home. I cleared the error codes and after a day of moving around only one new error code showed up P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction So I called on the mech to tell him to hold on purchasing the o2 sensors since that error wasn't coming up again. N.B. - I use a digital scan/fuel guage and based on its readings, there has been a significant improvement in fuel consumption since yesterday. |
The check engine light just came back on this morning and like 'magic', it was different from the previous lot. Its now reading P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction Any Ideas guys. Thanks in advance |
Thanx Lexus and Calculus, I was referred to one 'miracle' guy in Jos Today. He was a 'smallish' guy with a not too smart workshop. Cutting long story short the guy did the diag again and delivered the goods (as in fixed the car). Two of the obvious problems have been solved (Jerking at 3500rpm and high idle). The other needs to be observed for a while (fuel consumption). However I later cleared the codes and the check engine light is still yet to come back on which is unusual cos it normally comes back on immediately after clearing previously. I have decided to hold out a bit on the O2 sensors pending 1) if the codes come back on and 2) my observation of the fuel efficiency of the car. though I have actually paid the mech (7K for each of the two sensors). |
Hello Guys, I did a diag of my car and it came up with the following 3 codes 1) P2649 - Rocker Arm Oil Control Solenoid Circuit High Voltage I did a search online and they said it is connected to the issue of the fuel cutting off after certain rpms. Mine cuts off a 35000 rpm and the car jerks violently until you release the accelerator. 2)P0134 - 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank I Sensor 1) I checked online and the only thing I can pick is that it affects fuel economy. 3) P0154 - 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 1) I checked online and found out it determines air to fuel ratio and some other related stuff. and also affects the idling of the car. Anyway, there are currently 3 problems with the car that have been proving intractable 1. Fuel Consumption high I traveled from Abuja to Jos and used a half tank (a little less than 12Km per litre). A friend uses the same kind of car and fuel consumption of his is about two time more efficient. A nairalander once advised to drain my radiator of any water and replace with pure coolant. I did that and improved fuel consumption a bit but not fully there yet. 2. High Idle The idle of the car is notoriously high (even misfires when idle sometimes). over 1500rpm. Tried two different mechanics but to no avail. 3. Jerking at 3500rpm(probably due to fuel cut off). Car jerks at 3500rpm and same thing my mechs can't solve the prob. Please I need anybody who can give an advice on our to go about solving this problems, or at least recommend a mechanic around the North central(Abuja, Jos , kaduna, Kogi - that is where I am based) who can solve the problem. N.B. - The car is a 2003 Honda accord (EOD) V6, american specs. I have taken it to a Honda certified mech (infact I do my regular service there) but they have not been able to solve this probs. I will appreciate getting the contact of any good and knowledgeable mechanic. |
I keep getting shocked the way Nlanders talk when issues of money/salary is mentioned. The way peeps are making comments you'll think we are not in the same country where unemployment is at an all time high I mean in reality, how many Nigerians earn as much as N1.8m per year ? (especially those outside Abuja and Lagos, and maybe PH). The guy is like offering more than N150K per month. How many entry level bankers even earn more than that these days talk-less of IT, where most firm pay low. It's better to just say you don't have the skill set to qualify for the job than to make statements that seem to demean the laudable effort of this young man. @Seun, Kudos |
I have the privilege to have been travelling around Northern Nigeria and the middle belt for the past seven years The poster's observation is not only accurate for Benue State but also applies to Plateau State, Taraba State, Southern Kaduna, Nassarawa and Kogi State. This ppl are closer in culture and way of life to the average southerner than they are to the 'predominant' hausa/fulani tribes in the north. |
bjims:@bjims, I feel you. I considered myself in a bit of a similar situation. Though I've been using mine for bout 2yrs now but its been a bit of a battle. Although another contributory factor is the ignorance, incompetence and insincerety of the kind of mechanics you get around here these days. Pls can you do me the favor of sending me the contacts of two of the mechs you said you visited specifically The Danny Motors guy @ games village and the katampe guy. I own a honda and I travel around with it a lot. I have been able to get a good mech in Lagos and Jos but am yet to get any reliable mech where I am presently (Abuja). @All pls if you know any sincere and knowledgeable mechanic in abuja that can effectively work on Honda cars please I'll like to have your refferals |
@goshen, i wish I could have discussed this in private with you but I dont have your personnel details and also this is an issue that burns in my heart that I'll wish to pass across even to some other fellow believers. Pls do not take this as an attempt to condemn or me trying to prove superior knowledge. First off, I guess you are a christian, (based on your previous post) but I really don't know why you chose the name goshen as a screen name. What I know is that some churches use the name Goshen for some of their branches and some other things. I feel particular about this issue that some might call trivial because I blv one of the main challenges of the body over here is the raising of 'goshen christians' . The question is, where is Goshen ? Goshen is (in) Egypt. Exo 3 v 10 tells us that God called Moses to deliver his people out of Goshen. So why are we still so particular about Goshen even after we have experienced the passover ? Oh, I understand, - the miracles ! The Israelites that came from Goshen only had one thing in mind - meat, miracles. Ps 78 v 29 - 31 God could not work IN them because they were only interested in what he could do FOR them and most importantly the blood had not been passed over them. Immediately the blood was shed, God commanded them to straightaway leave Goshen, they no longer had any business there. They could not worship God acceptably in Goshen. Israel as long as they were in Goshen, were in bondage. They could only see the acts of God in Goshen but they could not know His ways (Ps 103 v 7), They could see his hands (of provision) but could not see His face. Unfortunately, even after Israel left Goshen physically, some still carried 'Goshen' with them on the way to the promise land. That generation perished. A 'goshen christian' is one who only watches out for the wonderful thing God can do in his/her life but has no real desire for a relationship with God or to truly worship him just as the Israelites were when they were in Goshen In summary, my belief is that God is calling a generation who would leave Goshen completely, and move into Canaan. though we might need to go through the wilderness for a while and face the red seas and the giants. but I believe God is calling us, those who have experienced the passover, to rise and move out of Goshen, and also ensure that the desires for the things in Goshen leaves us. I hope this makes sense to someone |
One issue I have noticed over time is that believers keep getting the issue of what Jesus came to preach mixed up or incomplete. Some will say Jesus came to preach salvation (or in popular parlance, that we must be born again) - true but not totally (its like saying Gaurdiola is paid to Coach messi, true but not the full story, he is actually paid to coach The Barca team). Salvation is an integral and indispensable part of Jesus' message but we have to realise that its not the whole story. Some go a step further and say - oh, he came to preach the message of the Kingdom (Right) but when you ask them what is the kingdom, they fall short, they start talking about the heaven they expect to go to when they die. But the Kingdom is more than that. Let's first establish the fact that all through the ministry of Jesus, his sole passion was one thing - 'The Kingdom'. You can hear him severally saying - 'The Kingdom of God is like . . . .' It was as though all he wanted is disciples to know was about 'the Kingdom message or better still, The Kingdom '. So what is the Kingdom ? Let me first admit that I am also itching to know more and more about this Kingdom everyday and even this space cant exhaust what I know. We can only come to the true Knowledge of the Kingdom by careful study of the Word and prayer. But then the first point to note is that the word Kingdom is a portmanteau of the word 'king's domain'. The Kingdom message is a restoration message about God once again establishing himself in the hearts of men as it was in the first Adam. Adam was one with God before the fall. He was sinless He was prosperous. He wasn't susceptible to fear. Sickness had nothing on him. He communed with God face to face He was the son of God and was a 'god' on earth He was in complete AUTHORITY Note that the ministry of Jesus Christ was a restoration mandate, He came to reconcile. So his death, burial and resurrection (I cor 15v1-4) was the PROCESS through which we could once again have access to the Kingdom, which he talked about with passion. So salvation (looking at it from an angle) is an event in the life of a man, but the Kingdom walk is a process. I'll like to close with these powerful verses of scripture (II cor 3v14-17). It talks of a veil (the veil of sin and most importantly of RELIGION) which is taken away in Christ Jesus (when you are saved/Salvation). This ushers you to glory, but the Kingdom of God is not just about 'glory', it is 'from glory to glory' (Read Eze 47 v 1-5). The Kingdom is about God dominating your life and transforming you, imprinting himself in you, until you know longer are. But you become totally like him, In his very Image, Seeing Him as He is - Gal 2 v 20, 2 Cor 3v 18, 1 Jn 3v2. It sounds blasphemous to the non - believer but that, according to scripture, is the hope of the believer called into the Kingdom walk. Its not just to walk away from or be delivered from sin (that's the first step), we will go far enough to the extent that we will share the very image of God, we will be One with Him. That is the hope of our calling into the Kingdom of God. |
I hate to get into religious arguments cos I realise it just aint worth it. but I'll want to believe what we are having here is a matured discussion, so I'll throw in my two cents. First off, we have to ascertain what we are talking about ? Are we just asking about the gospel ? Then I'll say its 'any good news', e.g. Lionel Messi scored 3 goals against the swiss. That's the gospel to Argentine soccer fans yesterday cos the word gospel is derived from the Greek word 'euaggelion' simply meaning good news and as it were no matter how religious/spiritual we are, we can't change the meaning of that phrase. but I believe just as goshen (what a moniker, for a xtian !) said in his initial post, we are talking about specifically 'The Gospel of The KINGDOM'. And not just any Kingdom but the KINGDOM OF GOD. Am typing this at 12 midnight so I might not be able to say as much as I will want to. but my humble submission is this, I hope this makes sense to someone. Its much closer to Pastor AOI's take than any other previous post. We do not need to worry about what the Gospel means - its fixed by both the greek and English language. What we need is actually an understanding of this Question - WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD ? |
Come to think of it, I stayed inside that church about six years ago. They had a corper's lodge that was more like an old vestry building attached to the main auditorium. Its quite painful. Left the town just 2 days ago and the whole place was as peaceful as you can imagine. The situation is worrisome. Had a soldier friend who told me yesterday that they've just been posted on a peace keeping mission in a village that has been engulfed by clashes between tivs and fulani ![]() |
