edoyad:Guy, thats funny, talking of credit (recharge card) , while many are fighting to access portable water, after two days of 24 hr siege. Infact i have been subsisting on Cornflakes since morning cos I cant get any other food. I should soon be going out once again to 'try my luck'. Pray for me. Anyway, on the brighter side, the only area where we've not heard of any burnings, killings or shootings in the whole of Jos - Bukuru metroplolis is low-cost ( Rumours have it that even far off places like Vom and Pankshi have been affected). Though I commiserate with those that have lost loved ones and valuables. I just want to thank God for the peace in Low cost , where I stay. |
What is the guy doing ? Making his final substitution ? what if an injury occurs in the dying minutes |
oddy4real:You're joking right ? Get your facts right 1. Yakubu is not the highest scorer of strikers playing presently in the EPL, Micheal Owen and Robbie Keane has scored more than double what Yakubu has scored and as at the last time I checked, they are still playing. 5. The fact that He even played in the Isreali league at all should be a minus in his dossier |
Thank God yakubu is Off. Now I can watch the game |
Princek12:Anyway Okoro is 28 !! |
Princek12:Nah that wont work, U-17 soccer is a different ball game entirely, we could as well have Mercy Akide in the SE then cos she scores a lot of goals for falcons. Its just like sending someone to fight a tiger cos He killed a cat. Didnt you see the kids our boys were playing against in the U-17 tourney ? |
Princek12:You're joking, right ? |
Ope O !!!! Penarity |
Mo gbe even cotonue people wan beat us !!!!. That shot that hit the bar was a half goal already |
Why not - Ejide for Enyeama (reason - too many clangers in the first game) Ayila/Nsofor for Uche (reason - too similar to Mikel, both are ball holders or is it ball retainers now, we need someone with more flow to complement one of them ) Anybody for Yakubu (He's well past it, you know the guy was right about being one of Nigeria's best strikers, between 2000 - 2004 that is) Odiah for Yusuf (Yusufu is simply not a footballer, dont know what is occupation is. he must have been there to satisfy some form of quota. You know the one Nigeria thing) |
Wilife:Strikers like Yekini comes once or twice in a lifetime. I think we can make do for now of the Aghawo and Yakubu of 2000 - 2004 |
GTay:I even doubt if He can make my secondary school football team !!! udennaa:With anybody, even guys from under Surulere bridge ![]() but on a more serious note, I was expecting Ejide for Enyeama (reason - too many clangers in the first game) Ayila/Nsofor for Uche (reason - too similar to Mikel, both are ball holders or is it ball retainers now, we need someone with more flow to complement one of them ) Anybody for Yakubu (He's well past it, you know the guy was right about being one of Nigeria's best strikers, between 2000 - 2004 that is) Odiah for Yusuf (Yusufu is simply not a footballer, dont know what is occupation is. he must have been there to satisfy some form of quota. You know the one Nigeria thing) |
What is - Enyeama Yusuf Uche Yakubu doing on the field today? I think thay should have been replaced alongside the likes of Taiwo and Nwaneri |
Did I hear someone say 'FRONTPAGE'. Its like telling someone you still write with slates. ![]() As for JQUERY, its the BOMB, I mean the NUCLEAR BOMB. The best thing since slice bread. I have often wondered how JavaScript was able to totally dominate the niche market of Client side programming (remeber Actionscript and switchscript are a variant of core Javascript). The answer is simple, its foundations from scratch is sooooooooooo solid. Really as far as programming is concerned there's nothing like Jscript. Along with Python (and its variant), these two are what gives me joy anyday. For those intending to learn Javascript, I'l advice you to go ahead, you wont regret it. but a good word of advice - aside very simple tasks, always use libraries. there are a lot of free ones out there to name a few. Prototype Yahoo UI Google UI Scriptaculous and the father - Jquery each with its own area of specialty. I must admit however that it's sometimes a daunting task to learn to use some of this libraries but not to worry there are a lot of plugins now for these library that makes learning easier and accomplishing much, simpler. for example this site gives you some great Jquery plugins that can bring you up to speed even if you are a novice in less than a day http://www.noupe.com/ajax/37-more-shocking-jquery-plugins.html To the OP's question, Well if am designing - Dreamweaver to the rescue if am coding (as in programming) - NP++ is the choice |
Thanks SouthSea for your incisive response. I was just waiting for the close of work to reply to Ajanlekoko's post but you've done that brilliantly. Though as the rookie stated, LBS was listed in the open/Executive MBA position but I think that in itself is a good Omen. The import of this ranking is that : 1. LBS is the second best business School in Africa 2. LBS is only bettered by 4 out of the roughly 100 business schools in the UK 3. LBS is better than every business school in Germany 4. LBS is better than evry biz school in the whole of eastern europe save one 5. LBS is better than every biz sch in the whole of asia aside those with affiliations in other parts of the world I think this is cheery news and should be worth celebrating |
Katsumoto:I dont know why Nigerians like to talk like this ? Must we disparage everthing about ourselves. This same Lagos Business School was for 3 years rated amongst the fifty best business schools in the world. I know there are a lot of things wrong with this country but if we do not learn to appreciate the little successes we have then we will always find it hard moving forward. To answer the poster's question, Anyway, I think the MBA is valuable, infact very valuable. let me quote from the renowned consultant, Peter Drucker to buttress my point - 'Managerial talent is the scarcest, most expensive and also potentially most effective of all human resource in a business. I have been in IT for some years now but am seriously considering getting an MBA myself. |
While I appreciate many of the posts made on this thread, there are some responses I wouldn't even dignify with a comment especially from some female posters who surprisingly are married and expected to know better. However I must single out N101, Mekana, GeorgeD, YME for special commendation for what you've added to the thread. Redmanns post blew the roof, I think your take was ABS fantastic. I don't think anybody here is reccomending rushing into marriage, that in itself is foolish even if you were pregnant out of wedlock. but pushing off marriage until later in life also does not gaurantee marrying MR/Mrs Right. Why ? We have been taught to always be on the lookout for the right person without any thought to BEING THE RIGHT PERSON. We want to be JUDAS and yet marry JESUS. Life is all about opportunity and preparation, time and chance, miss it and sometimes you seek it with tears and not find it. Some have been going on and on about those who married early and are now regretting it but I also know couples who married late and are also finding it tough while I know a few who tied the knot early enough and are coping quite fine. It cuts both ways. I think the message is, if you have the opportunity, it is generally advisable to get married as soon as you come of age. and for those who have not been able to achieve that then just watch out for the opportunities that come your way, no need to be non-challant or unneccessarily fastidious and critical. This is the advice I will give my daughters and young ladies out there |
Quote from: spikedcylinder on Yesterday at 07:31:33 PM So what happens to people who are unable to get married at the 'right' ages? Burn them at the stake? Nope Spike, You are not getting my point. At least, the first step is to admit that there is a right age range w/out inverted commas, even if you are not able to achieve it at that time. let me make a little analogy that might not apply in every sense but at least from an angle. a boy/girl fails to gain admission at a certain age, that should not cause him to 1. Stop tryin, knowing especially that He's gettin behind time. 2. Just wish it away/make it lseem less important with the mentality of 'everybody's time is different, no time is too late'. 3. Fail to Realise that some opportunities when missed can never be got back (or will be come very difficult) |
Siena: Fhemmmy:WOW fantastic posts. I ended up gainin a lot bout cars in one (actually two) fell swoop |
busoye19:If you are not matured by 25, you will never be matured, even if you live to be 250. If you are not 'physical ready' for marriage by 14, another word for it is impotence, see your doctor. If you are not mentally ready , its because you've not been giving it much of a thought and obviously dont see it as a priority. All these are excuses. I am not married and am well over 25 and but I wont delude myself about reality the way many ppl on this thread are going about it. 'Its not the end of the world - Sour grapes' The truth is your marriage is one of your most important assignments (unless of course , you are a reverend father which is topic for another day). You family is your first ministry and the earlier you begin to take the issue serious the better it is for you. This goes to both Male and female (but especially the women for obvious reasons). I'll recall the earlier post of a wise nairalander for emphasis sake and in case of those who missed it samnaija:I think too much watching of Oprah has began to affect many in our generation. Imagine a Lady who insist on not getting married until she finishes her masters (though I know many dont see anything odd in that but you obviously need a to take a course on priorities and setting life goals). Sometimes (no offence intended) but I think there are a lot of kids up on this thread who really understand little bout life. |
offering 1.1m, hope the ride has had no issues over the past one year |
Tatase: Siena:@Tatase, Sienna, Martyn303 pls dont believe that trash, I'm 5"6 and I'm still below the average heigth. How do I know ? cos I live in Nigeria ! and walk around ppl. 5"4 my foot. |
BTW @ib612 where u based in Nigeria and do you sell cars in Nigeria too ? |
ib612:Eeeehn, You guys just started a discussion that caused blood to flow faster in my veins and then suddenly left me stranded and started talkin bout christmas, santa and snow .I don't think there's any issue of arguments here. The reason why 99% of us Nairalanders visit the site is becuase of the wealth of Information on offer by those who seem to have more experience in the areas under discussion than us (and sometimes those with less). What ib612 raised is something I consider a SERIOUS issue that warrants second thoughts. It will definitely hurt (in a BIG, BIG way) to see all my savings for the past two years go up in flames on the purchase of a deadwood car. On the flip side , I believe there's a walk around (as in a sort of guaranty for buyers), I do a bit of marketing and there's nothing that excites me more during presentations than when I'm asked questions about the viability of more offers, its always a great chance to allay fears and sell your package more effectively. I think thats what the marketers here should do and also buyers who have experience in such deals is to make clarifications and really explain how these things work. It going to give potential buyers more confidence and definitely increase business Thanks |
ib612:bro, pls I don't get. Could you really xplain your offer in layman's terms. As in what are you really offering ? |
Shomoba01:Sure, I dont have any personal stake in Honda or Toyota. I jus need somethin that will serve me well. Pls can I see the pic and what's the price. Also where are u or should I say, where will you be by the middle of Dec |
Shomoba01:Aaaaagh tough question. Thank God they didnt ask me dat in Jamb. On a more serious note, I have never given much attention to Nissan. Really dont know much bout their products as regards durability, ease of maintenance, reliability and their resell value considering the peculiarity of our environment. These were the factors that made me choose Toyota and Honda |
@Indie apologies to Kia and picanto owners but that stuff (picanto ) looks like a cardboard box on wheels. Thanks for the concern anyway but sometimes I travel like 8hrs on a stretch and I dont want to be caught doing an 100 ( or God forbid, a 120 ) in that car espexciallyy with the situation of our interstate roads. @Chi_CHi. Thanks too but as I said, I dont think I want to settle for anything less than '03 though I know might need to up what I have a lil' but then I still believe I can get lucky Its christmass season you know ! |
Hey sista, Educate me, how can I get a Kia or Hyundai for 1.1 As far as I know the 2009 Cerato cost somethin like 2.4 ! |
So guy, R u saying I can get one for 1.3 (inclusive of clearing) or I buy for 1.3 and still clear myself. What % are my going to deposit ? and why do I have to deposit, are you into a vehicle financing scheme or something ? |
@fhemmy, thanx bro R u saying I can get somethin that meet ma specs for 1.3 ? (Sighs) well, then might consider upping ma bid. Who's adexfem and how do I get in touch with him ? |
@CHi you right, guess I got too xcited to read carefully. Do you have any idea how much it takes to clear at Lagos port |
