From Travelista
Meeting with the leader of the free world grants Jonathan's government legitimacy; Yar'Adua is technically irrelevant as far as the world stage is concerned.
Hey, that was an intelligent take, absolutely fantastic and well thought. Infact , i should ask 'which school did you attend ?'

Kudos to your lecturers.

I think it is obvious to every one that went thru school that K especially when written in Caps means 'Kilogram'

So what the seller is saying is that he needs 800Kilogram of notes of any currency denomination.

So I'l advice that if you are interested in the ride just try Zimbabwean dollars or Benin CFA, that will be the best bet grin grin grin

Just joking my guy, I understand you 800K, means 800 thousand naira as the poster above rightly stated

OyiboMoses Thanks.
Well, I get your point about the N900 and apps but the point is that talkin bout the 'machine' itself, the N900 is miles ahead of the N97 or any other phone. With 64GB hard disk, 1GB RAM, linux based OS, its unbelievable.

Am a developer myself and I see N900's lack of apps as sort of a challenge

@ozeigbe,

I dont kno much bout the N96, its like its not that popular around here but the N97mini is 62K while the N97 is 72K

Please who knows where I can get an N900 phone ?

I met some guys from salesonline at Oregun but they said they could only get the locked version.

Got to Nokia place @Ikeja and was told that it has not been officially released in Naija and as such if I buy the imported copies in the market, I'l not have access to some functionality such as push mail cos Nokia doesn't support the phone in Nigeria yet.

and finally someone told me I can only pick up the phone from any of the telecom operators on a contract/postpaid basis. As in its not available for the regular prepaid market.

My ques is simply, what is the true situation of the N900 as regards the Nigerian market and if its available for regular prepaid phone users , where can I get it and how much ?

I'l appreciate responses cos I Need a new phone urgently

Nice.

I can see that your prices have always been competitive and that's encouraging.

I have 3 enquiries to make

1. Where can one inspect this car (and probably test drive if we can reach an agreement)

2. Can it go for 1.1M

3. What are the actual conditions of the car, what are the probs of the car (if any ) and why is the previous owner selling.

Cant resist posting the link to my favorite rap songs of all times

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aznpAkFPtM

Let us Pray from the GGs.

If you'l notice as you listen.

The first rap represent the prayer of the 'average' christian asking for strength to make it through the christian race

The second stanza represents a backsliding christian still caught up in drinking and other vices but just not giving up.

While the last rap is a matured Christian who was actually interceeding on behalf of the black community.

Beautiful concept, beautiful delivery, beautiful song. just enjoy it.

I love Gospel Rap. Guys, have you heard about GRITS? I love their music and they've been around for some time now. Their songs make a lot of sense and is also good to dance to. Their beats are also well crafted out. There was also a guy called Car Man in the early 90's. Cheers.

I'm afraid you are either blind or have trouble with english comprehension.  Having a cordial relationship with the GOC is prudent and sensible. Jang, who is responsible for the security of his state apparently did not have this kind of relationship with GOC. I never stated anywhere that Jang needed to 'settle' anyone, unless you mean establishing a good working relationship means "settle".  Please go and reread my posts carefully and stop being unnecessarily emotional. olodo

Sooner or later, you people will discover that these elite, including Jang and Maina, are toying with your lives while sharing and fighting over millions and billions of your naira in the process.
I am not blind and neither do I have trouble with comprehending English as it is obvious from my previous post. I think I should really be asking you that question.

I am begining to suspect that you are not just unintelligent but also a coward too, How come you are backtracking on your comments so soon.

Please tell me what these post from you on the first page imply if not what I stated and you quoted in your post above

The Governor himself is incompetent as well. He should have established cordial and close relationships with those who are meant to safeguard the security of the state. I suspect that the Governor did not give the General the customary egunje - these people are all thieves.
I seriously doubt that. Trust me, these people love naira more than their tribes, they've been known to sell their tribes, masses, and souls for the naira. They are corrupt to the core.
Please be a man and stop denying what you alluded to earlier. Nobody will beat you on this forum

I have stayed in Jos for about 5 years and when I see comments like those from people like Ndu_chuks, I am supposed to ignore it as the ranting of an unintelligent/uninformed young man but something just moves me to type.

One from your post I don't think I will be wrong in assuming that you are nothing more than 13 years old. You seem to know very little and your thinking is obviously still evolving.

After all has been said and done you still someway, somewhat believe that the GOC ignored Jang because he was not properly 'settled' according to your post on the first page. I think the papers are awash with info as regards the root cause of this crisis and if not convinced just check out the political history of the entity called Nigeria (I mean dont they study History again in our schools !!).

Two, you where trying to bring all the tribes in under the collective umbrella of being Northerners - which is soooo wrong, this is a mistake every other nigerian (east , west) has made for so long.

They have sold us the fib that the north is predominantly muslim and mainly Hausa/Fulani, I can speak categorically about the North east, i have been to almost all the states there and I can tell you the Non islamic, Non Hausa Fulani population  is really huge, have you been to Adamawa, Gombe, Taraba ? are these places dominated by Hausa Muslims ?

Please if you dont know anything please listen to those that do and learn before you open your mouth.

The Hausa/Fulani have obviously had the political hegemony over the years and have been able to fool us into thinking they are dominant but, You can fool some people some time but not all the people all the time . . . .

The thruth is eventually coming out the marginalized are seeking emancipation. The plateau man is no longer willing to shed his blood for Nigeria while others take the glory and that is why this strugle is fierce . .

Mr Fhemmmmy, I am surprised you are reasoning like a member of the "cabal" The man never gave the mantle to Jonathan as required by the constitution. In the real sense of the word, the mantle still remains with Yaradua, and the one being held by Jonathan is an illusion. The cabal can make Jonathan's mantle disappear with a mid night judgment as it cannot withstand the force of a regular court, not to talk of a midnight one. I am sure that is one of the aces up the "cabals" sleeves, should Jonathan start to misbehave.

The Defacto presidents as recognised by Law as of today is Yaradua, and until he is declared incapacitated or impeached, he remains so, and that makes it our business what he is doing with his time. No body would give a hoot one he hands over the mantle legally to Jonathan.
Great thinking,

I'm sorry to say but the last time I checked, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua was still the substantive president of Nigeria.

And the 'fuss' is not about 'seeing him' but rather ascertaining the true nature of his Health Status.

I guess we should all have seen beyond the charade, the simple logic is, if he is truly well enough to drink tea with a relative, then Jonathan can as well starting packing his bags and the senate , FEC and whoever else feels he is vested with powers to initiate the process of the president's removal can also as well forget about it.

I believe knowing what state the man really is will go a long way in calming the heated polity or at least clarify what the next step for the country is as regards leadership. So thats what I see as relevant

AutosRe: LESS THAN 3 MONTHS OLD REGISTERED 2003 MODEL HONDA ACCORD EX FORSALE by pak: 7:37pm On Feb 27, 2010
George_D:
@darznets,
you just spoke my mind. recently it struck me that most asking prices for so-called naija used cars are by far higher than direct tokunbo of same make and same year. and the reason i think may not be far-fetched. Using your example, if you buy a 2003 honda accord last year or last two years, chances are that you would have bought it for around 2m or 2.2m. Now, if you want to sell same car maybe this year in 2010, you probably will fix it for 1.8m thinking your doing your prospective buyer a favour not knowing that the price has since come down below that. rather than researching the current market price of the vehicle he wants to sell and adjusting accordingly for the second hand value, such person becomes irritated that people are pricing lower than the amount he bought same car last two years!

That is the problem most second hand car sellers are facing and i see it happen every now and then not only in nairaland.
Oh my, I was just about responding and linking to that same thread.
There are some sellers who are quite notorious for this trend, you see them open 'hundreds' of thread, all with outrageously priced cars and if you bother to check up the thread all you see is a long list of 'still available', 'bump'.

I can't help but mention that friendl is even more guilty of this trend than the OP of this thread. Agreed, its a free world/market but some things just make wonder.

After several attempts, I decided to contact an old school mate abroad who had an Uncle in the car shipping business to help me procure a 'tokunbo'. I was pleasantly surprised at the price, it was a world below most offers you see here.
To burtress my point, there was an eastern european guy who was once active on the auto section (rrazor, or what's is name again), you'll realize that his offers were always way below what most other dealers placed.

Agreed, there have been some impressive bargains around here but I hope this will be a wake up call to others, lets post realistic prices on our threads and not take the shine off the auto section.

@George_D

That'ss quite insightful, good job

It takes so little to win Nigerians over.
very soon Ibori and Odili will hold press conferences asking Yar Adua to resign for the sake of our NASCENT DEMOCRACY.
Then all will be forgiven.
everyone can see the handwriting on the wall, even the barbarians at the gate can see that their deceit is no longer tenable, hence every one is claiming to be a patriot and on the side of the people.
At the end of the day,due to the realignment of forces and power, Turai will be left alone to carry the can with her sick husband.
Even Andookaa and Bankole will be on the side of 'truth and justice'
I urge you to work on your analogies and make them fair.

How can you honestly compare Dora situation to Ibori and Odili.

Please it pays to be Honest and fair. one. Odili is not a Yar'adua apointee or member of the FEC and two Dora stands little to gain from Yar'adua stepping down but I guess a strong conscience was her driving force.

If Ibori or Odili were in govt and the FEC in particular and stand the chance of 'enjoying being in power' until Yar'adua comes back (if he does) do you think they will ask him to step down ? be real my guy, the chances of that happening are zero.

and in the first place, on what grounds do you compare Dora and Ibori. I wonder if you've been in Nigeira at all.

We all know Dora's antecents and probably the only mistake she made was accepting that position and being allowed to be used as a stooge but then that happened to Tai Solarin too (remember People's Bank).

Really I think it is unequivocal that what Dora's has done is commendable and more than ever she needs our support

Now someone has been bold to follow her conviction, you crucify her and doubt her motives. What a sorry set of individuals Nigerians are- very hard to please. I wonder if these people calling for her to resign would have spoken up if they are in her shoes. Its easy to criticise but do you think of how difficult it is to be a lone voice? Did you guys ask yourself what it would have meant for Dora to have voiced her opinion too early when nobody had any information on Yar'adua's health?

They call for Jonathan to speak up!, Dumb fellows!!!!. So you want him to speak for himself and be seen as a traitor? He does not need to fight for himself. The right thing for a man who is the subject of a controversial issue like this is to allow people fight for him. This does not mean he is too docile or inactive. He is just watching his head and he is brilliant for this.

if this story is true i.e if Dora actually did what she was said to have done, then she has succeeded in winning back all the respect she lost from me for being a stooge fto Yar' adua clueless Govt.

Come to think of it, of all those in the FEC, only a woman could stand up to say what is right. A real shame on our leaders ( or rather rulers).

I repeat, if this is true then she has obviously taken this soap opera of Yaradua's health and the Nigerian presidency to another level
