hey fellow 'landers, Just want to know if there's any dealer out there who can bail me out. Though I've made some previous enquiries with most turning out with -ve responses.
However, I think I should turn to Nairaland before giving up. my request is simple, I need a car by december
and this are my conditions
1) It must be a Toyota or Honda brand 2) It's make must be 2003 and above. 3) It must NOT be 'naija used' 4) My budget is N 1.1 million
Note: Every other xteristics does not matter, I don't really care if its manual or auto, leather or fabric, alloy wheels or not etc. but then it must be in very good conditions cos am not an expert on cars and I wouldnt want much trouble.
I hope to pick the car by 2nd week in december if I find a willing dealer. Thanks
You can reach me on 07094061170 |

From Chosen What does MEND AND NAIRALAND HAVE IN COMMON?
1) Both are faceless community. 2) Both Founded by Idenitity Compromised individual.Eg Henry Okah for Mend, Seun Osewa for Nairaland. 3) While Mend run her affairs through Commanders and Lietenants, Nairaland uses Moderators and Posters. 4) While Jomo Gbomo is the spokes person for Mend, Becomerich is the map man for nairaland. 5) While Mend fights for the welfare of ND, every member of nairaland fights for their regional and ethnic betterment 6) While mend wars against the federal govt, Nairaland fights any percieved corrupt Nigerian & sonetimes non Nigerians 7) While mend recently appointed the "Aaron team" to negotiate on their behalf, Nairaland will soon be appointing 'moderators' to fill vacent advertised positions While some members of mend recently recieved amnesty, some members are Nairaland are equally due for same e.g============ 9) While mend spare 'Men of God', Nairaland members spares nobody not even 'our most influently man of God. 10)While mend is seen as militant and rebel group, Nairaland is seen and called the 'jobless youth attacking govt policies community' Who will give us more? Politics › Re: Do You Support A 2 Party System For Nigeria? by pak: 2:49pm On Oct 10, 2009 |
Seun: A two party system is something that naturally arises in most multi-party democracies due to political consolidation; it's not something that should be enforced by a decree. A two party system where the parties are chosen by the government is essentially a dictatorship.
I mean think about it, it's stupid! If the two parties are corrupt, then there will be no recourse for the common man. That means if a president wants to control Nigeria in perpetuity, all he has to do is appoint his friends as the chairmen of the two parties and then they can do whatever they like forever and ever. Whereas in a multiparty system dominated by two parties, they have to keep fighting for votes to retain their position. That makes them less corrupt. I know you always make sensible post but never earned my respect due to your atheism, check Psalm 14 v 1. With today's post, you actually took things to a new level, probably the most intelligent item I've seen in Nairaland in a long while. Very convincing argument. |

Gaming › Re: Editorial: The Gaming Industry by pak: 12:55pm On Oct 04, 2009 |
kosovo: It has actually being on my mind for so long, the industry being non-existence in Nigeria and the fact the game section in Nairaland receives almost no traffic, revamped it me. It's so sad that people under look the gaming industry, People fail to understand that in as much as Music and Movies are important in our ever busy social life; Games also play a very vital role in providing similar entertaining features. Over the years, Gamers have been seen as mindless people with nothing to offer, and over here in this part of the world, we feel Games should be met for kids, but it's actually been a very wrong and myopic ideology.
Games have really evolved, looking back at the days of Atari and the popular Mario or Sonic era, where games were actually mediocre, it could easily be regarded as a waste of time, but in recent times, The gaming industry has really taken a new dimension, from game play, to character, amazing visual effects, sound, realistic movement and to story telling. we have actually seeing games like 'Metal gear solid 4' make world class director Steven Spieberg go crazy and games like it have equally inspired big-budget movies. Games like 'Gran Torismo' 'GT' has taken driving Sims to the next level. In the UK, learners use it as an official driving simulator. I recently saw a comparison between GT5 and real life, and it actually blew me away. Car manufactures now meet with GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi on research and developmental advice. Innovative games like Little Big Planet, Guitar hero, Rock band, Afrika, and wii sports have also revolutionized the gaming industry. Morealso, Games like Zippers MASIVE ACTION GAME 'MAG' has changed our concept of online play, with a massive 256 online player with almost no lag. This, no console game has ever achieved until now. Some of the top-rated games today take years of work and tens of millions of dollars to produce.
There was however something missing in games, that is Emotions, players got their characters killed without any emotional feelings, they just go ahead and press restart or rematch button. They were need to address this, the introduction of Fumito Ueda 'Team Ico' and David cage's 'Indigo Prophecy' managed to close the emotional gap between the player and their characters, the bar is being pushed even further with the release of David Cage's hotly anticipated game 'Heavy Rain' next year which deals mainly on players emotion and story telling. A game highly acclaimed by the industry to be the best graphic ever, where there is no Game Over, when a character dies, a new character and a new story begins, your decision actually affect the story, what's more worth knowing is that the games has a massive 2000 pages script, mMm, Some movies don’t even get that close. Most importantly a very strong emotional balance between the player and their characters was attained based on early previews of the game. Something no game has ever achieved. Owing to these series of events, Sony recently patent an Emotion control, were your emotions can actually affect the outcome of games like this.
Economically Games have grown into a multibillion-dollar industry and created revenue for developed countries, we have actually seen huge amount of money spent on the development of games. some, even out performing movies, ‘Gran Theft Auto 4’ was developed for a whooping $100 million, made $500 million in it's first week of release and selling over 10 million copies world wide, Halo 3 made more than $170 million on first day of release. While the highest selling game, Gran Torismo series which has sold over 50 million copies on only the Playstation platform, has brought a little above a Billion dollar. The largest Third party publisher, Activision Blizzard posted profits of over $2Billion last fiscal year. Surprisingly, last year Games brought about $1.5 billion more revenue than the Movie industry in the US. The gaming industry has also boosted major economies of countries, noticeably is Japan, the world second largest economy, UK and the US. Recently Ubi soft announced that they were working on a new plant in Canada in collaboration with the Canadian government, which would create over 1000 jobs when fully operational. So why then is the gaming industry still under-appreciated in developing countries? Painfully, Nigeria has only specialized in oil as it main economic driver, but things like this could actually create millions of jobs and enhance our revenue, including our GDP and probably actualize the much doubted MDG or vision 2020. Great post my guy but I think you should appreciate that game programming is one of the most difficult aspect of coding and not for the lily livered. I've been a programmer for some years now and I know how hard it is to even write a very basic game, it pushes AI techniques, OOP and graphic handling to its very limit. Until we are ready to invest heavily in research and not just 'hit and go' apps, it will be a no go area for now. With the developments made globally, It might take some years for any body around here to get advanced enough to profit financially from writing games and I also wonder where the person/group will get the funding from For now, what sells in the country are just novel ideas and business models based on IT solutions that do not require much effort and intensity to implement. |

larimo: The days of the Super Eagles are gone! Welcome to the days of the Standing Eagles. These men just stand waiting to be told to run after a player or close down a player. So pathetic! Both goals for Tunisia are goals you score in primary school football games!! The midfield was non-existent. How can u play two presently defense-minded individuals (Mikel and Seyi) plus an out-of-place striker (Kalu) together?
See the ratings below on a score of 10:
Vincent Enyeama, 0: did nothing all day but enjoyed watching the ball in his net. A normal good shot-stopper but today a ball-picker. Didnt even attempt to stop the second goal!
Adeleye, -3: Absolute disaster! He assumed he was played volleyball and just refused to run. Responsible for goal number 2 in partnership with Taiwo. Thankfully, he didn’t have his name on the score sheet.
Yobo , 3: Did a lot of the dirty jobs left by others but was too much of a gentleman in defense. It’s not golf, its football! Too static
Taiwo, -2: That guy is finished! Someone who would run so fast and offensive just watched the Tunisians all the day. He has an ‘assist’ though in the Tunisian’s second goal.
Adefemi, 4.5: The one guy in defense who had a pretty Ok game with respect to the others. Sent in a good cross that Mikel chose to head out. The Tunisians never did trouble him much. But made a fews good errors as well.
Kalu Uche, -3: Did he play? Didn’t see him in this match. Was the missing link in our midfield.
Seyi Olofinjana, 3: Too slow, long range useless passes, never thinks of attacking, didn’t really know what to do with the ball. Arrgghhhh. He showed he was important, off the pitch, when he was replaced and we conceded!
Mikel Obi, 4: One word, latent talent. He reminded us of his creative abilities in the second goal. He couldn’t impose himself and was constantly confused about whether he was playing a Chelsea game or Nigerian game. He needs to be returned to his natural attacking midfield position.
Kanu, 3: Three slow, but his presence was felt, em em.
Osaze, 6: the only one understood the importance of the three points at stake. Brilliant individual play leading to the first goal. Did his best as always but…
Ike, 4: showed some of his brilliance but well taken out by the Tunisians. Didn’t want to score, cos he just refused to shoot! With this performance, he will need other key players to help him shine. Still needs to mature.
Obasi, -1: Did he play? Oh yes, he committed an unnecessary foul in the first half instead of putting pressure on the defender. Excitement about his return was just wasted energy.
Nsofor, 4: One assist isn’t bad. At least he had his name in the statistics.
Eneramo, 5: Scored a goal and refused to score another. What sort of backward football was that?
Amodu, Amodu. You should have allowed SiaOne take your job. Now how do you get out of the mess?
Seyi out, Kalu out, Obasi out, Adeley out, Taiwo out Kaita in, Etuhu in, Ajilore in, Aluko in, Elderson in, Nwaneri in, Apam in Ayegebeni pls recover Am I too generous with my points? lol Guy, you're too funny Abeg cut taiwo some slack, the guy was fasting |

dean2725: 2-2 ? can anyone give me the dry run of the match. missed the match You can get it from yahoo sports, its already updated Nigeria scores in like 20 mins thru osaze's solo run from the right beating a defender in the process before smashing into the roof of th net. Super eagles still jubilating and ball watching a minute later when Tunisian midfielder finds enough space to hit a cracker from outside the box. 2nd half. Nigeria survives scare as Adeleye almost does an odiye/escobar/diaby but luckily hits the bar. tension soakes up but a beau pass from Mikel (who was actually dissapointing thru the game) finds Nsofor ( a sub) on the left, he takes a lil' Finindi like run and then a lil' Finidi like cross pass for Enaramo (another sub) to tap home from 3 yards in the 80th Minute. naijans were still jubilating when the Tunisians ran rings in the 89th Minute to score against a very flat footed defence let down by a non existent midfield. Hope you get a little picture |
