@1990
Do you think you can get an auto for that your '1.7'

abeg that amount is more relevant for 'isi ewu' grin than a 2008 auto toyota model

and who cares if you are Yar' adua's dead Uncle
AutosRe: Toyota Corrolla 2008 For Sale At An Unbelievable Price by pak(op): 5:53pm On May 11, 2009
@leoleo et al

Sorry for the misconception,

the commission I was talked of, is not from the buyer but rather from the seller.

and its definitely not up to 10%, its just a lil cut for marketing and (hopefully selling ) the car.

Maybe I should just edit the initial post to make things clearer.

If you are interested as i earlier said just buzz my line.

The car is still very much available and I'l connect you directly to the seller at Elizade and you'l do biz

Chei!!! I sent a post but sort of didn't go thru

anyway @ 190
I can see you are a great guy

but its like you have a problem with concentration (How u take pass for school sef ? ? ? aah I forget, 'girraffing' )

The point I made earlier bout Yaris is that for now we dont see much of its 2nd hand's now due to its relative novelty but

with time we will get to see more used Yaris. And the poser I am making is , will other makes like

KIA, Hyundai, Logan start to have more second hand's available as time goes on or is it that their quality (or lack of it )

ensures that the second hand value is nothing to write home about.

AutosToyota Corrolla 2008 For Sale At An Unbelievable Price by pak(op): 8:39pm On May 10, 2009
Guys , there's a  Toyota Corolla 2008 for sale at  relatively low price in abuja.

I crave ur indulgence to break the nairaland auto section policy a little but its for

understandable reasons.

The specs are

mileage - 10k
transmission - manual
bought late last year and used only in Abuja
no accidents (not even a dent) everything intact CD, AC et al.
Owner wants to sell cos she's more comfortable with cars with automatic transmission

The rule am breaking is that I dont have the pix (and no VIN too )

Reason - am just a mouth piece/ agent, the actual seller is a staff of Elizade.

If you are REALLY interested (REM - effective demand is backed up by an ability and willingness to pay)
buzz me on my line
07094061170

I'l connect you directly with the seller and you'l do biz

This stuff is legit and will go much smoother than you think if you are ready.

and sorry lest I forget,  the price is

AutosWhy Are Used/2nd Hand Kia, Hyundai Etc Cars Rare ? ? ? by pak(op): 8:01pm On May 10, 2009
I've been going thru the n/land auto section for sometime now

and have noticed that some used car models are very hard to come by. (the only ones I can think of now are kia, hyundai but i guess there are lot more )

I wonder what the reasons are. Does it have to do with the quality of these

brands and invariably its second hand value

or is it just that they are quite

new 'round here and maybe later we'l get to see more 2nd hands' like it is with

Yaris.

I'll love if the experts on this section can fill me in with their opinions.

And secondly, this is sort of a poser.

If you have 'bout 1.5m or less will you rather go for a new 'small' car or

a used 'big boy' car. pls give answers with pros and cons of both options

thanks buddies

, and what exactly do you mean by 'jihadists'
PoliticsWill The Crisis In The Middle East Ever Be Resolved ? by pak(op): 11:51am On Dec 30, 2008
The recent spate of attacks in the gaza strip and Isreal

and the tainted and convoluted history of violence in that region of the world begs the question

'Will the crisis in the middle east ever be resolved ? '

Considering the political , economical and most importantly the religious significance of these crises

one wonders if there will be or if indeed there can be any resolution to the age long impasse.

It cuts my heart to see the carnage and bloodshed everyday as shown in the media and its

gotten to an extent where most people are now inured to these gory sites and details.

and I ask myself what are the alternatives? what are the solutions ? is there a mid point ?

is there an unbiased angle to the crisis ? does the calamity not have the potential to polarize the world as we know it ?

I also ask myself , if I were a prominent world ruler, e.g US president, UN Sec Gen, EU leader e.t.c what would

be my take/ action in the best interest of peace in the middle east considering the very sensitive

religious interest in the crisis.

Its over to you analysts on nairaland, the international relation gurus out there on the thread land.

What is the way forward ? can there be a resolution ?

and can it have any impact on nigeria as a state dominanted by the two prominent religions
(though strictly speaking the jews are not really christians but we all know how the whole equation pans out).

For me, It wasn't a surprise he won. The hand-writing had been on the wall a long time ago.
McCain was no match.

The importance of Obama's election to Nigerians and/or Africans? huh
I am yet to take a position.
The real test of leadership has just begun for him.

FROM OPOKS

alfa you tried with your own opinion though.
My 2 cents

I think that thaere is no country under the face of the Earth that does not have corruption. As long as human greed abounds, selfish interest often fights against common interest. And what is 'common interest' varies from perspectives.
The USA tries to act as the Law to the rest of the world but it is in the same country that we saw the level of corporate corruption that sank the likes of Enron, Arthur Anderson, etc, Giants in their field.

Even the Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark etc) which boast of the best managed economies would have traces of corruption.

The differnce between the level of corruption in Country A (Nigeria for example) and Country B (Ghana for example) is a factor of a few things including but not limited to the following:
The level of Greed of the leaders and the led
The value sytem of the people
The control systems in both Public and Private sector

The level of Greed among Nigerian leaders and Nigerians is very high, way higher than in many countries. This is why scams worth billions of Naira is no big deal to the average Nigerian. This includes the Nigerian in govt, the one in the private sector and the one doing Yahoo+

The Value system here encourages and abates fraud. If I steal enough money to be able to contest the Senatorial seat of my town, the chances are that I might bribe my way through to the National Assembly, become the Senatorial face of Anambra state and one of your leaders. Nobody questions where I got my money from and even if anyone does, the question will be "Is he the only one?" I could be the traditional ruler of my town just because I can afford it. This is the society you and I come from. In China, Japan, South Korea and most Asian countries, most top ministers commit suicide for corruption charges. In China in particular, the chances is that the corrupt officer is executed if found guilty. In Nigeria, you are celebrated and even encouraged to contest for the Presidency.

The control system to check fraud in Nigeria is so weak and little wonder, it is set up by the powers that be, which are corrupt themselves. How many Nigerians pay tax? Pose this question to UK or American citizens and you will get the picture. In the UK, you inhale and exhale tax. How many wealthy men/women pay tax in Nigeria? Can you try it in the USA, UK or the Scandinavian countries? No!
The most efficient control sytems to have come out of Nigeria in recent times are the NAFDAC and the EFCC. The Director of the former (Dr Dora Akunyili) has survived several assassination attempts for trying to curb corruption in her jurisdiction. The latter (EFCC) has been made a lame duck by the present administration and corrupt politicians are once again roaming scot-free in this country. Dr orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia state recently purchased 9 ships valued at about N31 billion Naira for God knows what! EFCC under its former leader (Malam Nuhu Ribadu) stepped on toes, big toes and look at the huniliation that both the outfit and its former leader is currently facing.

I rest my case here. You can add your own.
Bros after reading your mail, i go just advise you say make you just resign from telecoms go join the academics

although money no really dey that line but I sure say you for don become Professor by now, if na that path you initially follow.

Good piece, Good thinking

It should noted that owning and runnig a premiership team is not a profit making business but its more for prestige.

If you check the records, you'l find that most clubs actually run at a loss. That's why Ashley is selling in the first place,

His philosophy of running a football club as a business does not align with the prsent premiership mentality

Shearer, Lineker - True legend (club and country)

Henry - Club legend (at last from the english perspective)

David Beckham - good but too much marketing driven hype
