PoliticsRe: How G-5 Govs, Atiku Stopped Lawan-thisday by pak: 10:21am On Jun 10, 2015
modath:
Even the Dead Ray charles can from the grave see through Atiku's ill concealed 2019 presidential ambition. Unfortunately it further re inforces OBJ's assertion that his ambition is far above National interest.

Atiku's joy will be shortlived cos once the dust settles, he will go back to his sidelines, he is NEVER GOING TO RULE NIGERIA.

CAVEAT;
I am not God & don't have any control over Atiku's destiny but he is incomparable to Buhari, if he could be president his money would have done it since.

He lacks the two basic "ingredients" for the present day Nigeria's presidency which are; Northern cult like following and Southern support... He enjoys NEITHER!!

He totally dollarised the APC's presidential primaries & only came a distant third to PMB who with all the "assistance" he got didn't spend a 1/4 of what he did..Kwakwanso will be a president before he ever does.
As they say on the streets, Your head is very correct !!

Though intelligent, atiku is not what you will call my any stretch, a good man
BusinessRe: How New Cash Reserve Policy Will Breed Corruption, By Expert by pak: 7:19am On Jun 10, 2015
CFCfan:
The development economist got some of his facts wrong. In the US, the president doesn't have a say whatsoever in the monetary policy-making of the Federal Reserve.
In fact, the Federal Reserve is 100% independent from the control of the White House. The only "influence the president has is merely nominating it's chairman.

I wouldn't want professional monetary decisions to be vetoed by Aso Rock. I believe the egg-heads at the CBN should be left alone to formulate Nigeria's monetary policy. Aso Rock should be content with formulating fiscal policy.
Intelligent post up there though I'm not in any way an expert, I dont totally agree with your angle.

In a nascent and unstable economy (and democracy) like Nigeria, the monetary policy goes a very loong way in determining the state of the economy. If as President, it is shaped independently of my input then why blame me when things go wrong ?
Fiscal decisions too need to be taken professionally, that is why the President needs advisers. The inconsistencies in our monetary policies over the years as shown that these 'professionals' also allow a lot of 'political' sentiments in making decisions

Don't ever use tables especially with menus, modern browsers will mess up your site especially mobile browsers. The trend is to develop for mobile first, so this is a really bad idea.
Oh well, I initially didn't see the part where he said the menu is responsive......

However, it's obvious the OP is something of a noob and is just trying to get a hang else a trip to any bootstrap template site could have solved his problem.

Not every site is mobile first, there are some backend applications I develop that are primarily designed for desktop, mainly used to access tabular data.
In such scenario and when you are out of time and lack the technical knowhow, you might be forced to use the option available to you.

But true, tables have been discouraged for non tabular data

Well, ok. I'm not a Josite, just hear stories and have been there a coupla times. If you're from there and you say the guy is a failure, then I have no reason arguing with you.

Now compare what you wrote to what that bastard above wrote, calling me names, all because the illiterate doesn't seem to understand the meaning of "if word on the street is anything to go by". I didn't imagine the acclaimed Plateau would have such retard£d scumballs amongst them honestly.
You'll meet different kinds of characters on NL.....

but beyond his abusive language, his allegations are very true.....
I once had to make a presentation to a project awarding committee in the state and I was shocked to realise that like 18 of the 20 members of the committee were from just one tribe (now Plateau has almost 30 evenly spread tribal groups across the state).

If you check the news today, civil servants staged a protest to prevent him from commissioning a new IGR biulding in the centre of town, why ? The structure had been 'completed' on the outside, even painted. But on the inside no fittings had been done. and yet most painfully, his inability to pay salaries. Now that's wickedness

If word on the street is anything to go by, then this man performed incredibly well compared to most of his colleagues. Save for the Governors Forum brouhaha, he conducted himself like true leader during his 8years in the saddle.

May he enjoy a peaceful retirement.
Whichever street you heard this from must have been a street of liars.
Jang has always been a construction freak. Building roafs and not paying salaries.
He started a new govt house with a budget of 4 billion, the uncompleted complex has gulped 9 billion as we speak, you can Google plateau state govt complex, little rayfield to verify my claims.
He claims he his the poorest but definitely not his son who is building the biggest galleria in Jos in Tudun Wada
WebmastersRe: Webmaster How Will You Create This Menu? by pak: 7:43pm On May 25, 2015
@OP, although the method is deprecated and no longer advised by desigm professionals but if you're out of time and patience, just use tables. A one row table with multiple columns and zero cell margin. Make the background image the table bg and set cell borders to relect the design. Alternatively, you can make it two rows, the upper for the images, the lower for the text. Just play around with it and you'll be done in like 10 to 20 mins

WebmastersRe: Is Dreamweaver The Only Website Creating Protocol? by pak: 5:55pm On May 20, 2015

Security = Zero
Employment = Zero
Electricity = Zero
Fuel = Zero
Infrastructure = Zero
Foreigh relations = Zero

Can someone please mention one sector wherein we can give the jonathans administarion a pass mark.

Obasanjo, for all his flaws still achieved something in the Telecommunicatons sector. He privatised the Telecomms and today that sector is better off today than it was decades ago under NITEL.

Jonathan privtised PHCN yet the electricity problem is going from WORSE to WORST
You didn't even mention obasanjo ability to rid Nigeria of external debts and build up our sovereign wealth fund despite having (in 8 years) less than 60 percent of the income Jonathan got in 6 years.
And sadly the prodigal child has squandered our sovereign wealth and has plunged us in unimaginable debts

There is seriously a load of obligations at stake as a parent.

I visited an old friend who happens to be the proprietor of a primary school somewhere in Lagos one day and the atmosphere there wasn't nice at all. The kids didn't give me a nice reception and when they all gathered together and started gossiping into one another ears staring at me at the same time, I knew something was terribly wrong. I knew it was time to leave and fast.
I really don't get your drift....

Are you insinuating that the primary school students wanted to attack you ? and what did your friend the proprietress do ?

Phizzlephizz:
this picture just said everything. I can remember vividly in my primary school days how my class teacher would rain abuses on Bolaji my classmate who always come last in position, and tell us how poor and wretched people like him would end up, and how Franklin was always the talk of the school cuz of his brilliance I really don't know much of there whereabouts now tho but for secondary school the worst student in my class was my bossom friend, Akeem no know book no be lie I made fond of him in his absence and we find it all funny reading his exam scripts as it is filled with jargon, Akeem didn't further his education into tertiary institution he went to his homeland (ogun state) in 2010 just as I left for school. We had a secondary school get together for my set last year Dec. 2014 and the only person that turned up with a car was the olodo Akeem as we usually call him, we were amazed most drinks were on him after the party as usual na as a bosom friend I had d front sit on our way home we got talking and Akeem said he's into Agriculture back home(ogun) and has 1 hectare of land where he planted plantain and he also does fish farming, he also said he's building his own house that was when I got struck in total awe, and am still here struggling for a 2.1 without assurance of a well paying Job after graduation.
With the English you wrote up here, I can understand a bit why Akeem seems to be blazing the trail. No commas no punctuations
PoliticsRe: 70 Christians Massacred In Plateau by pak: 9:27am On May 18, 2015
Based on my little understanding the Fulani vs indigene crisis is less of a religious issue but more of economic/traditional .

The nomadic fulani is hardly educated and stuck in the past. He only understands life the way his fathers a 100 years ago understood it.

The nomadic fulani on the contrary sees himself as a victim, a target that is looked down on by the rest of the country.

If you feel the press is ignoring killings in some village by fulanis then try looking at things from the other side and you'll understand its a failure of governance. Nobody ever reports the killing of a fulani man. They feel they are treated like animals by others. A dead fulani man is seen as not more than a dead cow. It never makes the news.

And please for we southerners confusing the Hausa vs other northern tribe crisis that occurs frequently in the north with the fulani attacks, they are totally two different things. The nomadic fulani cares less about political hegemony or religious supremacy. He is only concerned about his cattles and grazing routes.

Only a responsive government can put an end to this crisis

The fulani man must be given some basic education and made to understand that life is not the way it was 200 years ago. He must be made to understand that cattle grazing the way he does it is archaic and must be given alternatives.
Also indigent villages on the path of fulani grazing routes should also be told to be more security conscious and more tolerant and accepting of the fulani man and understand that though his ways are different, he is still a brother
