lummi: I had an interesting time in camp (2012 batch c)i too hated it (i still do). Thankfully, i was posted to Ondo town--back to civilisation. |
##In Mortal Kombat's voice## FINISH HIM!!!
guy, you funny die. On my SEGA console with my favorite xter Cyrax: XCABCZXABBCZ. Strange how I remember this after 13 years. |
homerac7: Thank u sir for helping to knock some common sense into that fella's skull.it jars on my nerves in much the same way too. Some Christians fall to distorting the Bible in order to score a point--so much effort to make Ayo's acquisition of a private jet less unpalatable. Christian leaders regardless of their accomplishments in life should remain modest and detached, and put the needs of their congregation ahead of their own whims and caprices. |
zig2ryme04: John 1:35-39- Jesus had a home, large enough to have overnight guests.how does your assumption compare against Jesus' own words: 'foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head'. Jesus was not the rich kid you are trying to portray. His seamless robe was undoubtedly of high quality but was already out of fashion in his day, which is why his oppressors said 'let us not divide it, instead let us cast lots to see whose it shall become'. Jesus lived a low-profile life and took after his father's trade in carpentry. Therefore, when the people said: 'he has done all things well' they were referring to the tables and chairs he made that were of sturdy construction, incomparable to the works of all the other carpenters in Nazareth. Contrast the quiet, humble and mystical life of Christ from the loud, showy and densely materialistic life of today's 'men of God'...be the judge of that. Remember what Christ promises his followers: 'if anyone wants to be my disciple, let him TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY and follow me'. In other words, what he promises his disciples is not riches and prosperity but suffering. But of course, many of the Nigerian pastors are clearly unprepared to follow in the footsteps of Christ. That is what Jesus meant by putting one's hand to the plough and looking back at the world's riches and attractions, 'such a person is not worthy to be my disciple'. |

All the while, I've been seein IVM on Enugu State buses, waste-disposal trucks, and even state-govt-owned Jeeps. As medical students, we used to board the fully-airconditioned IVM buses from Old Site (behind Ogbete) to Ituku-ozalla (on the outskirt of Enugu town)where the teaching hospital is located. These buses have performed better than the Nissan buses which were introduced before the IVM buses but which are scarce on the road these days (?machine breakdown). I am very delighted the Enugu State Govt is supporting Innoson in his exploits and I wish him greater success in future. Whether he is Anambra or not is irrelevant. What matters is that he is Nigerian and has achieved a remarkable feat which ought to be encouraged. |
Warri ppl are just hilarious. Yorubas are respectful (not the belligerent fellows on NL claiming to be Yoruba), then the Ilaje people of Ondo are another hilarious people(I've no idea whether Ilaje is a region or an ethnic ghroup). |
It's a national trend: Government's inattention to healthcare. But the problems in OOUTH rather border on the extreme for a state-owned facility. Plus, Xray is considered one of the most basic investigations. |
anulaxad: we don't need new states we need to join states all this tribal thing is killing mei agree with you. But going by the SS, SEand SW's clamor for more states, it seems likely the National Conf will only achieve more states for our Union. Because frankly, the needs of the SS have become a major determinant for the policies we make. I only hope our leaders will learn to put the needs of the many ahead of the needs of the few, or the elite. What we need is progress, not policies. |
achi4u: Na wa o...they should've allow Nsukka zone to have their new state.it's been largely politicized. I am from the said Adada area, spefically Ikem, Isi-Uzo LGA and it takes a humane analysis to understand the call for another State. Heretofore, the road was bad and dusty and most of us would rather go through Nkalagu in Ebonyi, and then re-route via Eha-Amufu. I say heretofore because currently works are ongoing on the said road. I have not been to these other states being suggested and consequently cannot make a definitive statement. Nevertheless, I am hoping the FG will accept the Ohaneze's views and return to Regionalism, with each region allowed to determine her need for more states. |
Politics and antics! |
Sensationalism in journalism is a trend to be condemned...first off, the quoted autopsy report could not have been from the Pathologist as it is both scant, unprofessional and sounds largely paraphrased. A pathologist's report will state categorically what the primary and secondary causes of death were. The journalist is only keen to reach a cause-and-effect relatioship, especially to manufacture a piece of sensational news. Based on the scant information I could glean from the reports, it is highly likely the poor lady may have suffered intestinal obstruction, and the curious timing with her eating at a public function may have been only co-incidental. |
I do not quite agree with the Governor's assertions. He believes Yoruba language begins and ends with spoken Yoruba---what happened to written Yoruba? That is where the teacher comes in. Language entails more than just speech. Written language is the bedrock of history. On a different but not unrelated topic, i compulsorily took lessons in French language from Primary school till JS3 (it became an optional subject at that point and I promptly dropped it) and now I wonder how effective all that haas been? If there are practical reasons why Mandarin should be introduced, then its prbably a good idea, otherwise His Excellency might be thinkin 'what is life without whimsy'? |
The whereabout of Sullivan Chime, governor of Enugu state has been unknown for over 2 months, its citizens are getting irritated as state management is deteriorating and there are rumors about his health condition. Saharareporters please help Enugu locate where this Gentleman may be and the true state of his health as you did with our beloved 1st lady.
i read a press release from the Gov's sec that he was taking a cumulative leave and that he was fit as a fiddle...i hope that's the case. |

I am from Enugu, and all I can say is that the State Govt is just doing enough to keep her citizens from complaining. Frankly, there is a lot that ought to be done, but the consolation is that the government is showing the political will to get it done. Of course, comparing to Anambra which is a commerce-driven economy, Enugu has a lot of catching-up to do. BUt in actual fact, a state need not be completely commercial to thrive. Enugu is a peaceful city and a meeting point for all Igbos who all live in peace. Growing up, my favorite neighbors were from Imo, our next-door neighbors were from Ebonyi, my mother's best friend was from Delta--we used to find the dialectual differences exhilarating, nevertheless we lived in harmony and that has taught me to value being Igbo. Our leaders owe us big time. We have invested our trust and confidence in them and so far, they have not quite amazed us--yes, we are waiting to be amazed, not that we are dissatisfied (speaking as an Enugu indigene), but we believe there is so much government could be doing. I personally bemoan our moribund tax system. Government would fare much better if she concretized on property tax, vehicle reg tax, other taxes relating to businesses. Internally-generated revenue is the way to go, over-dependence on oil money has not helped us so far-and I'm referring to no state in particular. I, for one, believe we can get it right. |
Oga Spyder, do not let these detractors derail this epic thread. Some Anambrarians can be tetchy and irrational so pls disregard their misguided contentions. Kindly keep doing your great work moreso as I am away from home for the foreseeable future(presently in Ondo). ..onye o wutaa, ya jee nwuo! |

Hello Tadeus, what is the LOWEST quote for Toyota Camry 07 edition? |
Phillmart...
what is the cheapest quote for Toyota Camry 2007 edition. |
The passionate and vociferous opposition is only a pointer that this is imminently possible. IMO. |
Is a thread like this even allowed to exist? Smh |

ITbomb: This is what those unfortunate Israelites should be doing instead of sacking civil servants cos they are not from their state even though they speak the same language and pay tax.typical hypocrisy. D plan is still on paper, yet u r already condemning others for not having started that initiative two decades ago. Nonetheless, as Nigerians we would support whatever programs that would advance our development. But drawing an excellent roadmap is one thing, following it to *Uhuru is quite another. |
No one. I'd rather vote for an hausa than Igbo
i can see that fo-ol-ish-nes is ur favorite pastime, keep having fun. |

Eze Promoe: I support the idea of creating Anioma state because they've been marginalised by the current Delta state government but i don't support the ceding of Onitsha to Anioma. God forbid that i'll wake up one morning and i will hear on radio that i'm not from Anambra any longer. I'm proud of my state. The light of the nation.guy take am easy. Lolol. Na so we wake up one cold morning and they tell us say we no from Anambra again, say we from Enugu...now we r loving it. |
