jln115:This If they want him forever they can chose him forever - thats democracy (Sadly) FYI, here in Korea the president can only do one 5 year term. |
Henry120:- at the start of the war the South Koreans received very limited support from the US. During the war the Korean Army performed amazingly. - Uhh, the fact that the South Koreans not only have a bigger army, but a better equipped army is more than enough evidence. Turn Seoul to rubble? Maybe, but the ROK will be in Pyongyang in under a month. - Columbia: The US, increasingly alarmed by Colombia's role in the drug trade, got involved in Colombia's war in the 1990s. In 2002, President Álvaro Uribe took office after campaigning on a promise to end the war. He cracked down on the FARC and was largely successful in undermining the group's power. The military regained much of the FARC's territory, and by 2013, the FARC had just over 7,000 members, down from a height of 16,000 in 2001. http://www.vox.com/2014/12/18/7412615/farc-colombia-ceasefire So, 25 years after America got involved, FARC is on its knees - FACT - Americans only trained a small core of the Iraqi army. FACT All told, that suggests that some 33,500 Iraqi troops have reached the point where they can "own their own battle space," as the president put it. http://www.cfr.org/iraq/training-iraqi-forces/p9378 How big is the Iraqi army? - Kobani is no longer under seige, the vitally strategic position was held and ISIS was pushed back. Stop moving the goal-posts, the seige was BROKEN and ISIS were PUSHED BACK. The town was destroyed? So was Stalingrad, Berlin, Warsaw (twice), Leningrad, Caen, Grozny, Sarejavo - yet all are major military victories. - America destroyed the German and Japanese armies and then rebuilt them, into some of the most powerfull in the world. I like it how, when it is a success story its totally all due to indigenous peoples - but when its a failure its all the Americans fault. Such hypocracy |
Henry120:Again, no US trained troops are involved in the current fighting. Tell me - if you are facing enemies on multiple axis's of advance. And you have only a divisions worth of quality troops and about 200,000 poor quality troops Where do you deploy your division? Between Falujha and Baghdad? or around Ramadi (with no ability to defend Baghdad) with Falujha between your best troops and your capital? Answer: You deploy them around Baghdad facing the Western ISIS thrust (Falujha) and the Eastern ISIS thrust (Diyala) In the grand scheme of things Ramadi is insignificant - unless the Iraqi's had a huge offensive planned along the Southern Axis down rout 1 (which they didnt) it serves little strategic or tactical importance - if anything, the loss of Ramadi will shorten the total frontage the Iraqi army has to hold and thus allow more effective concentration of power and less wastage due to the fact that you dont have supply lines running through ISIS dominated territory. Whilst simultaneously tying up more ISIS troops in holding another city. Sure, you dont want to lose the city - buts its loss is not the end of the world. Its all part of a larger startegry based on holding the line while the rest of the Iraqi army gets trained up to scratch. A minor setback |
Henry120:- SAA is getting its sh1t pushed in at the moment m8. Pay attention to the news. - I am refferring to Egypt in its wars with Isreal, two utter defeats by the tiny American trained and armed nation of Isreal - Angola was only a victory when the SADF pulled out and the Americans dropped their support for UNITA. The fact that MPLA was getting the best of the best from the Communists, as well as 60 000 support troops and senior leadership from Moscow... and they could not defeat a paltry Battle-Group of sanctions starved SADF and their peasant allys in UNITA says it all. - Pakistan has repeatedly been utterly obliterated by India (in major engagements) - Libya. Trained by Russia and the East - comprehensibly defeated by Chad and their Toyota pick-ups |

Henry120:Americans built the initial core - the Iraqi's built the rest themselves Colombia = about to win a war against insurgents Isreal = American trained, supplied and built. German and Japanese Armies were disbanded after WW2 - and rebuilt by the Americans in the 1950's. Again, henry, your overly emotional nature and unwarranted dislike for the west (it must hurt to have your affections turned down) is clouding your judgement. |
Henry120:Why cant they do both? Huh? a de-mining drone that can defend itself and thus does not need to by baby-sat by troops? Also, you seem to be avoiding the whole "perimiter defence" concept like the plauge - probably as you know that it is perfect for it |
Henry120:Because you say so? All the armies and designers have no idea what they are doing... but you do? Yeah, ok. |
Henry120:- South Korea got very little support from America before the war. In a war with the North (without Nukes) the ROK would fvcking curb-stomp the North. Are you insane? Do you think a paltry 1,7 million half starved peasants with obsolete weapons stand a chance against 3,5 million men with some of the most advanced equipment on the face of the planet? Dude, you are beyond delusional if you think that the North stands a snowballs chance in hell against the South!! One Sejong The Great destroyer is enough to down half the north korean Airforce!! - FARC are literally on their knees and have been forced to the negotiation table. - No US trained troops are involved in the fighting around Ramadi http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/pentagon/2015/05/28/no-us-trained-troops-in-iraqs-new-fight-for-ramadi/28083677/ - Again, is Kobani still under siege? No? Ok then. Those "innefective airstrikes" not only stopped ISIS in its tracks - but broke its back and allowed the Kurds to break out of the pocket! - Yes, I understand COIN - we are the people your government pay to teach you about it. Now answer the question - list successfull insurgencies that have pushed American combat troops out of their zones and have lead to a succesfull insurgency. Please say Veitnam, fvcking please - German, Japanese, Korean and Isrealy militarys are amongst the top 10 most powerfull in the world - thanks to US training and doctrine. |
Henry While you critique the Americans training qualities due to Iraqi army failures. You seem to have overlooked Eastern Bloc training failures in: - Syria - Egypt - Angola - Pakistan (oh pakistan you pathetic pathetic military) - Afghanistan - Libya |
mzilakazi:Since he has been desperatly looking for something to criticize us about |
Henry120:You dont You pull back the drone and send out a replacement |
Henry120:How are they useless? Do you wish to swim out to sea-mines yourself and disarm them? Do you wish to wander around the battle-feild and try detect NBCW deployment? No? Ok, then they arent useless |
Henry120:Henry I told you before I will tell you again. Iraqi troops with American training are not involved in front-line combat - they are wisely being held in reserve. Currently it is militia (shia) and domestically trained men (read: militia in Iraqi army uniforms) And yes - it is literally because of poor leadership. You forget that the Iraqi army went from ZERO men in ~2005 to 283,000 in less than a decade. Standards have to be VERY low to build up that kind of manpower. It takes generations to build up the skills and human capital for an effective army. As for American training - consult with the Germans, Koreans, Isrealy's, Columbians and Japs about the quality of American training. |
Henry120:Reports the Canadians deny Unmanned and armed ground vehicles have multiple uses, from IED/Mine detection, urban recon, perimeter defense and CBN detection The one that most sticks out is perimeter defence - you could set them up on pre-determined patrol routines, and have them activate to a centralized controll module when something is detected. Meaning that one man can operate and manage as many sentries as you want. I dont understand your obsession with the F-35, I can only assume you dont understand its role or are not fully aware of its capabilities. And for the love of god stop going on about "its not stealthy" - stealth is not its primary focus, it is simply a design feature. |
agaugust:1. The Zimbabwe link is completely invalid 2. You trained him how to fly - no military training 3. No you did not We directly trained you. We own you. End of story |
agaugust:Who says it was shot down? |
agaugust:Poachers are not a military concern |
agaugust:SANDF is not deployed on Anti-Poaching duty, never has been, never will be. I like how you are trying to desperatly change the topic after the humiliation your suffered at the hands of the South African super rapid. |
agaugust:South Africa directly trained your army. We own you |
agaugust:1. Citations posted have shown that cross border poaching is no longer a major concerne since SANDF deployment - BORDERS ARE SECURE 2. American civilians came to work in private capacity on private land as security guards. |
gottfried21:This is how its done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2_HQ6LgoVY An "Africanized" parade, with military precision and discipline Troepies singing while training https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVP2dXtYcGM |
gottfried21:Comrade, what are you doing?
|
Henry120:Yep - he is trolling again. |
Henry120:- The South Koreans didnt have any real sort of Army before the Americans provided assistance. How did the South Korean Army fare DURING the war? What is the state of ROK forces now? How did ROK forces perform in Veitnam? - Is FARC on its knees or not? Yes or no! - Is Kobani still under seige? - US trained Iraq troops have not been involved in the fighting. - Are American combat forces in Iraq? I ask again, if US COIN policy is so bad, point to one country they have been pushed out of. - Again, I like how you held back on mentioning that the JDF, Bundeswehr and IDF Henry, you hate for America is so transparent - all because they wouldent sell you weapons and cut their training aid to you. As usual Nigerians display their overly emotional nature. |
Henry120:LOL South Korea? Hahahhahaha - I guess you need to read up on the Korean war I guess you also need to go and read up on the effectiveness of the ROK forces in Veitnam I guess you also forgot that the ROK possesses one of the most capable and potent militaries in the world Columbia? Last I checked Farc was on its knees Saudi? You mean the most powerful military in the region? Kobani? Last I checked the seige was broken!! I like how you forgot to mention the Jdf, Israel and West German militaries I ask again - how is the poor performance of the Iraqi army the fault of the Americans? American COIN has failed? Point to me one country that the US military has been deployed in and that has been over-run by Insurgents Just one |
AugustineAgain:Augustus 1. Multiple citations prove it 2. Multiple pictures have been posted of super rapid in round housing (on German and other vessels) This argument is over Sout African navy has the mighty super rapid gun!! Proven beyond doubt!! Next topic!! |
AugustineAgain:Super Rapid in a Round housing http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/fly/fly4.html German Super Rapid - round housing on Braunschweig-class corvette https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxgkeTYevDI Augustus shows deep fear at the existance of our Super Rapid guns Just be a man, accept that we have it!

AugustineAgain:Augustus We don't care about your opinion Citations say we have it This is no longer a debate I see that you deeply fear the implications of our Super Rapid |
Centrifude:Why are the Americans to blame? |
