Do u manufacture armoured vechicles? So wat will be the prevalent price as opposed to the Nigerian price? The Vechicles were purchased at the standard going price from manufacturers nothing more or less.

The same way the Central bank Governor donates money to Kano State, every minister have some level of independence once they have recieved their annual budget. The purchase was well within her capacity to direct.
Force? kindly prove that force was applicable to a request for security within the operations of the ministry? let us not exaggerating things like illiterate.

And security is not part of that statutory function? I am confident that the safety of air travel was never compromised by the Ministry of Aviation under the present Aviation Minister inview of the huge funds that have been invested in the aviation ministry in recent times. Such investment is unprecedented and the aviation sector have never been better.

All you have is written is thrash. What did I say? Thra Thra Thra Thraaaasshhh!!!

So because we don't manufacture Armoured vehicles in Nigeria, they have to pay times Four for 5year old cars?

You mentioned budget, was the money used in making that purchase from Ministry of Aviation's account? Why route it through NCAA? A cash strapped agency that is "struggling to survive".

If you think you can make any progress with you tribalized brain you are on a longer. . . You are simply on a fast route to dying as a bitter old buttler. You better calm down for Jesus . . .

true2god: Any Igboman criticising dis woman must be stupid. Where were all this criticism wen Femi Fani Kayode was the aviation minister? Was he not more corrupt? Whats about the N17billion fraud at the aviation ministry under FFK, whats the EFCC's verdict? Lets stop fooling ourselves, a section of the country wants her out, just as they want GEJ out at all cost cos they are not serving their evil interest.

A section of the country recently said the opening of intl flight at the east will kill local air travel biz, can u all understand their schemes and thinkin? Knowing fully well that Igbos do intl travel a lot and the impact it might have on their region if Igbos travel frm their region without having to take a local flight to Lagos before taking their flight abroad. They want no good for Igbos and r ready to destroy wateva good that seems to be comin to the region.

Let rally behind the minister, we all knw 95% nigeria politicians are corrupt and Nigeria is a jungle state where the 'advantaged' wanna continue holding dowm the 'disadvantaged'.

Using $1.6 Million to purchase 2008 (5 year old vehicles) worth less than 400 thousand is the best that can come out of your region?

How nice grin

The Speaker of the HOR is reported to have spent half of that amount to purchase high grade armoured Mercedes Benz vehicles A year ago!

Did you also read where it was stated that ALL the 'remodelling (cosmetic) projects' done so far have been riddled with massive kickback. That is what your region's legacy should be, right?

I'm not disputing her work, but 2 things; 1- Is airport tiling & plasma TVs what will save us from incessant crashes? And;

2 - At what cost must her 'good works' come to Nigeria? She's serving her country isn't she? Or is that another "Legacy of ur region"?

I wonder if you and those who share your mentality bother to think. You live miserably and without dignity like your peers in other nations YET you find excuses for those who are directly/indirectly responsible for your woes.

May God save your lost souls and redeem you from ethnic and other demonic blindness.

Missy_B: It is not exactly a copy and paste duplicate. But you're right, your thread should have been on the FP because it was created first.
We apologize and will see to it that it doesn't happen again.

I'm disappointed! "It is not exactly a copy and paste duplicate". . . Did you check the content of his post and mine? And you didn't see he lifted out what he used for that post, including pictures!

I accused him of it on that thread and he couldn't deny it. . . And guess what, the dear moderator is playing devil's advocate. How nice!

Does Nigeria know the usefulness of a UN Security council seat?

Can/will Nigeria EVER have a mind of its own to vote against American, British, French interests even when such interests hurt Nigeria?
I sincerely dont see the usefulness of this appointment until we've actually got the balls to speak up and be counted without fear. . .

Attention MODS - tjskii, Missy_B ; Encouraging plagiarism is wrong!

@youngchopper, has a thread on FP on Koko Garri. The thread is product of him/her being a crook and a darn plagiarist!. . . Yet MODS are encouraging it by putting it on Front Page;

www.nairaland.com/1477908/koko-garri-manufactured-d-banj

How can I create a thread and he/she steals my post, word for word including pictures and next thing its on Front page?

I created this 6:11pm on Sunday Oct 13; www.nairaland.com/1476834/koko-garri-vip-garri-manufactured

This is not the first or second time the MODs will be doing this with my threads.

Why can't they source for stories and use their own brains to create stuff? However lame it may be!

This is RIDICULOUS and I expect that topic removed from FP ASAP! . . . Justice delayed is better than denied! And Bans should start being put in place for people like this!

How will Nigeria get better if some of you keep thinking this way?

Exactly!

As for me, I'd say let's gradually introduce the gold trading/exchange system. We need a system with "VALUE" and not some fiat currency that holds the world hostage. I like the U.S., but it's time to call a spade a spade. I just don't know what currency you're gonna trade with, the Yuan is definitely not a good option because they deliberately devalue their currency, the Euro isn't really advisable because theirs isn't really stable. So which other currency do you suggest?

Please enlighten me a bit on what you mean by Yuan being devalued deliberately.

Politics / Re: Minister Forced Aviation Agency To Spend $1.6 M On Two BMW Armoured Cars(Pics) by Pattey(m): 10:33pm On Oct 15, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Lets do away with sentiments and stay with the FACTS. Here are the FACTS on this matter:

1. According to SR, NCAA bought two BMW Armoured Cars, worth $1.6 million

2. NCAA is an autonomous agency under the administrative supervision of the minister of aviation

3. Based on the information provided by SR, in "a letter dated August 13, 2013, J.D Nkemakolam of the NCAA sent a letter to the Managing Director of Coscharis Motors asking the company to deliver to the NCAA two BMW 760 armored vehicles..". On August 13, 2013, Dr. Daniel Nkemakolam was no longer the DG of NCAA. This is a FACT. Dr. Daniel Nkemakolam was appointed acting DG on 12 Mar 2013. By July 2013, a substantive DG, NCAA Folayele Akinkuotu, had already taken over.
Akinkuotu’s appointment was confirmed on June 25 by the Senate. By July 4, he had already taken over as DG NCAA
http://leadership.ng/news/040713/ncaa-dg-advocates-safety-compliance-operators

4. There is nothing in the report to suggest the alleged vehicles purchased were for PRIVATE use.

5. There is nothing in the report linking the minister of aviation to alleged purchase of the vehicles or that she currently uses those vehicles.

The above are the FACTS in this matter. The other issues outside the FACTS above are speculations, conjectures, emotional spasms/convulsions and outbursts of sentiments. Let us stay with the FACTS.

If SR has more details linking the minister to the purchase of the vehicles or how the said vehicles were diverted to private use, SR should let out.

Also, as pointed out earlier, there are contradictions in the dates mentioned in the SR report.

Moreover, the standard practice in journalism is that you must give all parties an opportunity to say their side of the story. It is irresponsible to run to publish one-sided story.

It is important to stay with the FACTS, especially in these days of too much bad-belleism, politicization of everything and PULL-HIM/HER-DOWN SYNDROME.

Your summary, the dates on the letters and receipts are fake/forged. Right?

chukwudi44: All evidence so far points to the NCAA and its director Fola Akin.Nothing to link the minister with it.SMH for desperation of some folks!! Oduah is going to nowhere!! She will stay till she uprades the owerri airport also to international status and the Enugu airport one of the best in the world.Haters can go to hell

I can see tribalism has robbed you and ur fellow village men of common sense. . . . I will say it again, many of U Nigerians deserve to suffer, ur entire way of life shows U deserve oppression from the political class. . .

Why are you so blinded by selfishness and tribalism that everything else can be sacrificed so long as your tribe 'becomes among'?

If sahara reporters dint show documents, ur ilk will scream propaganda mission, now there's fact BUT since ur mind is biased and made up to see her as a saint, will it matter if you're shown pictures of her taking possession of those cars?

I won't say she's not trying but, Is tiling airports what will keep the Nigerian airspace safe?

If you get ur owerri and Enugu airports, won't planes keep crashing there if the present safety concerns aren't addressed.

You guys should try thinking, it helps. Nigeria first, before consideration for your backward tribalistic orientations that will NEVER get you anywhere.
