I know this thing require thinking to understand, but if you think, you will understand.
Suffering on earth is a direct function of sin..and sin can be inherited. remember,Adam and eve sinned and And mankind inherited death as the consequence. But Jesus died and restore back that eternal life Adam and eve lost.
So, a progeny may not commit any sin But suffers the consequence of the sin his ancestor commited. For example, a father who refuses to send his child to school has sinned, the child may suffer the effect later in life.
Hence, we all need the 10 commandments to guide us.
This explain why God told Joshua, this book of the law shall not depart from you, this is the only way you will prosper.
Now all i have just said falls into the category of this physical realm,excluding the death of Jesus i mentioned .

The lake of fire in revelation means purnishment of death(known as the second death) for unbelievers only, not christians, it is a state of lifelessness or condemnation,where the individual cannot resurrect to enjoy the eternal life that those whose names were found in the book of the lamb are enjoying.

We all know what hell is. Hell means grave where the dead (people) are buried.

in otherwords,when you tell your brother fool, he is likely kill you out of anger and you die and go to grave (Hellfire ).this one falls into the category of what happen in this physical life.
In summary, no Christian is entitled to lake of fire by any means, But all christians like all humans dies and go to Hellfire (grave) someday. And he is resurected to eternal life after the judgement(it is appointed once for men to die after that,judgement ), which is less than a second ( a period of time that is equivalent to blinking of the eye,in the real sense,the physical death is actually eye blinking, not death )

He saw their sins, rebuked them for it, and demanded repentance. And promised chastisements if they don't repent.

Jesus repeated this with about 5 of the 7 churches.

We should not assume he doesn't see our fornication, malice, lies and greed etc. They grieve His Holy Spirit in us.

Rev 2v14-16 -But I have a few things against thee, because there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols and to commit fornication.

So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and I will fight against thee with the sword of my mouth.

See? Jesus sees our sins, our carnalities and our false doctrines. He hates them and he rebukes them. He demands repentance for them; and he chastises refusal to repent of them.

but we were not talking about repentance, we were talking about justification.
repentance is good, but justification and repentance are two different thing.
justification to eternal life is through grace. it is a spiritual gift.
but repentance is physical, it has to do with keeping the law, the law is physical,it is good. that is why God will rebuke us when we commit sin, cos, if we don't repent, we will have the consequence of our action here on this physical earth like anyone else, God is not bias.
But in the spirit where our justification lies in the spirit we are saved in his kingdom whether we repent here on earth and suffer the consequence or our action, or not.

To start with your statements; "world has evolved beyond all that" and "people of this generation have become more knowledgeable" are excuses proponents of homosexuality put forward to support their immoral behaviors. I agree the world has changed, culture have evolved, information is ubiquitous and there is more freedom to live as we please. One thing hasn't changed. God hasn't changed. Our God is the same God he was during Paul's generation, His word is still active and living, sharper than any two edged sword...it discerns the very intents of our heart.

Paul was an apostle to the gentile world and not the Jews. The gentile (majorly Greeks and Romans) were more knowledgeable and advance than the Jews. But we didn't see Paul entering their pagan shrines all in the name of converting them. He stood his ground, he didnt compromise. When Paul went to Ephesus he didn't enter the temple of their goddess before the Ephesians believed in him and burnt all their pagan books and stuffs. The Pope claims to be from the line of the Apostles, why isn't he following the examples laid down by his predecessors? Oh! the world has evolved right?

Yes I agree with you that people want to see what Christianity offers, if i were born a Muslim i would also want to see what Christianity would offer me. But I don't think the way to show what we offer as Christians is to show the world that we support their pagan worship because we as Christians are tolerant. If thousands of people are converting to Christianity its because they gave room for the Holy Spirit to convince them, I don't think they would be converted by seeing the Pope worship in a mosque (even if you claim he was worshiping Jehovah). This would rather confuse their new found love for Christ.

Judaism wasn't a popular culture during the time of Moses to the reign of David down to the last King that went on exile to Babylon. When Jesus came and brought the new covenant, Christianity still wasn't a popular religion, the disciples were killed, jailed and beaten. they didn't compromise their faith. Why should our own generation compromise? Why should we run to their place of worship just because we want them to stop killing us? We are making the devil to rejoice by doing this.

I am very much aware that many churches are committed to the intellectual development of their members through proper study of the Bible and organising of relevant seminars and workshop. But there is also a place for divine intervention in the affairs of men. This is what is called miracles. Through mircales you can get things which are otherwise difficult or impossible by natural means.

Because of our situations in this country, many people are living in crisis, hence the quest for miracles as you see everywhere.

The other issue you raised. Know that some people go to church but they are not chritians or believers in the true sense of it. The fact that one is bone into a Christian family doesn't automatically make one a christian. Untill one comes to the point of making personal commitment to Jesus, accepting him as Lord ans saviour (we call this being born again), one is in truth not a christian. This is the reason for the altar call in church which you refer to.

but, to get money, car etc, are not impossible situations. so, I don't think there is any need for miracle to get them.
if you read in the bible how God miraculously provided food for the isrealites in the wilderness, it is because they were in the wilderness, and men were ignorant at that time and God overlooked.

Adeboye is a humble man of God, only few of his calibre can compare. The blessings of God upon men of God is not something an unbeliver can understand. Although men of God are not perfect, they do not impoverish their members to live in affluence. The affluence of the men of God is overhyped in the media.

Actually men of God add immense value to their members. The church remains the hope of the common man, not the govt.

Adeboye is not lazy... I am suprised you implied that! He works for the church, an organisation in it self. That means he is entitled to a salary to say the least (I don't know if he collects one anyway). There is no law prohibiting working for and getting paid by a church.

Your analogy about being a thief does not apply here. Because he has never forcefuly taken anything from any body. People give willingly as they are blessed.

There is nothing wrong in associating wth all classes of people. His calling is not to the righteous alone but to sinners as well.

With the results he has achieved since he came on board over 30 years ago, I think he would have been in a wrong profession if he didn't accept to be a pastor like he did.

what i don't understand about pastor adeboye and all pastors in Nigeria, they are not interested in the intellectual development of their church members, making nigeria christians appear to be fools, people who don't think. thereby,making non, christians (like Muslims and atheists ) to see Christianity as a religion without intelligence. consequently,discouraging them to believe in christ.
meanwhile, the bible is a very intelligent book. why are people like adeboye, inspite their level of education still call christians who commit sin UNBELIEVERS , so that they make ulter call in churches instead of mosques where they can get unbelievers?

Don't get me wrong I respect muslims, I have relatives that are Muslims, I respect their religion but I don't accept it. If they could also respect our faith in Christ and stop killing us, the world would be a better place. But this ain't gonna happen, they persecuted Christ, so a true believer should also expect persecution.

i understand that the pope need to preach to convert them to Christianity, just like Paul did.
but the world has evolved beyond all that.
it was easy for Paul to take argument into the synagogue of the Jews in those days because, in his days he was among the privileged few educated men.
but today, it is not like that.
people of this generation have become more knowledgeable, we are very happy for that change, it is beneficial to all.
but it makes mere preaching less effective.
if Christianity is truly the better religion, which i believe, then let christians shine their light for others to see and glorify God.
your general attitude towards unbelievers has the power to covert them than mere preaching, people are not fools anymore,
they want to see what Christianity offer, as compared to their local religion.
conviction don't just come by listening anymore, it comes by observation.
by the Grace of God, thousands of non christians are getting convinced on their own, without anybody telling them anything about Christ, i. know what i am talking, if you have travelled to the US, you will see a lot of things.

i believe, the process of changing the world should be at God's pace, we shouldn't fight people to change, let them judge by themselves.
killings and persecution is a sign that Christianity is doing well. because, it is frustration that makes people carry arms to fight, to advance and impose their religious ideology to people.

rather, let our light shine, and the only way we can shine is to change our ways.

be not equally yoked together with unbelievers. do not imply that christians should not make friends to non christians. it says, christians should not worship other gods.
the pope didn't go to the mosque to worship God through Muhammad , he went there to signify his solidarity to Islam. and to encourage Muslims to worship their Allah, he did it by bowing.
if you still think the act of bowing is the same thing as worship, then you should have a rethink, because, right from the day christ ressurected, and in christianity, worship has gone beyond mere act. worship (also known as to worship in spirit and in truth ) simply means to live your life in a state of grace by believing in Jesus, that he is the coming Messiah. john 4:23
