Now i am 100% sure i've been thoroughly ripped off! just to do lintel alone i was charged N80k by carpenter (after much talking) so when i saw your N90k workmanship for roofing i just shudder. house coming up very great though. how much for your step tiles in total please? thank you |
Hi, please can you give a breakdown of your costing for the roof as follows: wood carpenter/labour and other costs aluminum thank you. i am involved in something about your size too. thanks a lot |
Oga Spyder800; let me briefly exit the silent followers club to wish you a Happy New Year. I'm doing something like this and had been following you silently in the previous treads. your candid advises and costing helped me a lot. i would remain silent here too but i cant resist the temptation to let you know that there are more followers than those who post here. please keep up the good work. May the mercies of the Lord be with you in abundance this year. take care. |
@ all, I honestly want to give gej the element of the doubt but every day he keeps falling my hand. honestly i think he has a bad set of advisers and going by some of them on NL i am not surprised. he does not need to look angry; just sober. he is a public figure for God sake and should know that his body language would be read by all i really feel sad; he is a christian; his brethren were killed on the most holy day for xtians and he is still smiling. really i don't know what to say but he needs a lot of better advisers. even if you don't feel emotional about the deaths; the fact that you are the no. 1 person in the country means the choice of clothing; facial look and even posture is very important. thank you |
Hello all, 1st let me say i did not vote for pdp or gej I did watched the chat and listened to him truth is that we all knew before now that our president has issues with clearly expressing his mind so lets not kill him for it. i agree with those who saw his passion - i think he is passionate about getting things moving. however, he really needs to convince people that he knows what he is doing. so far people are not feeling the expected change/transformation. rather what we have seen of late are - 1. 6 years term idea; 2- increased power tariffs & now fuel subsidy removal. these were not part of the campaign promises so people have a right to feel betrayed. Its obvious he seems to want a positive change for Nigeria but he's doing a bad job convincing people that he knows what he is about. the idea is not his and it seems he has not studied the proposal thoroughly. He mentioned the completion of critical projects and i think that's quite smart - he's taking the glory for power now but much of it is to the concentrated efforts of obj its also obvious he has not fully studied the effects of the subsidy removal. no matter how difficult you find it to express yourself you should have an itemized list of advantages of the policy by now as the president. lets give him the element of the doubt. He's our president. However, i wish to ask the gej supporters in the house a couple of questions: 1. when did we actually realize the impact subsidy is having on us. before or after the elections?? 2. how did the figure more than doubled within 1 year. were more cars imported or Nigerians just love to consume fuel or world prices doubled within the period. 3. why not put in place all structures first - pib; removal of the loopholes being exploited and deregulation (not necessarily subsidy removal) of the sector. 4. are we trying to do this because we are broke or because we want to secure the future - its sounding more like we are broke so u guys have no choice. naturally the governed would feel like hey how did u spent my money? thank you. |
@ VoodooDoll i don't know if your info are correct but thumbs up for a good way of analyzing we need more of that and less of name calling. well done |
@ femi, nice idea, thumbs up, love the thread, i already subscribed knowledge that I've gained in this property section is quite useful and i cant stop learning take care |
Hi, just stumbled across your post i am actually having the same challenge with mine and searching for answers so if you have been able to solve yours kindly assist me. thank you. |
Hi All, I don't know much about protocol but should she not be behind the presido? - I am referring to the pic where she was hand-shaking those lined up to receive the president while the president himself was yet to alight fully from the plane. just my thoughts please. |
Hi Samla, good day to you. your effort ok but try and educate your audience a bit more, that would attract the right patronage and give the impression that you are indeed sincere and capable. for example, you can do a little explanation on the different types of roofing materials. concentrate on the aluminium which you seems to be an expert on and tell us the different types available, the advantages and possible disadvantages (from your own point of view). your experiences so far and where the best/not fake/ aluminium materials can be sourced and then you can hold some tips to your chest like the measurements; costs; etc. that i am sure would attract the right patronage. that aside. i have a small project that would be at the roofing stage in a month's time (God willing) so I'll need your answers on the following: 1 - what is the difference between long span & step tiles aluminium in terms of : (a) - wood usage (b) - cost (approximate) % difference (c) - longevity & strength I asked the above because i want to do step tiles aluminium but i am not too sure that it would not be requiring a much more wood usage than the long span. based on what i have seen so far it seems steps for aluminium is justt the long span modified so i am not sure it requires more wood or not but wants to be very safe 2- what is the best time/season to do a roofing wet or dry 3 - what is the least quantity of aluminium (LEAST or Average, i know u cant be exact) required for a 14.10m X 12.750m building (4 bedroom flat); simple roof design 4- other than the wood, what other materials should a client get prepared for (minor things we overlook based on your experience) 5 - can you estimate a roofing cost (detailed) for the above measurement - based on the plan height of building is 5.850m plus roof with blockwork height of 3.00m please send a copy of your response to: atopeaceland at gmail dot com we'll take it from there thank you |
Hello all, Quite interesting if truly this is the very first bill he is sending to the house since election. Can we really confirm that please? Secondly, I believe the bill would be passed; with accelerated hearing and without having to bribe the house at all. Why . Because it assures the house members of a little more than their current 4 years plus the standing unlimited times they can come in. These guys are after their pockets and forget ideologies or whether pdp;acn or cpc; they would all vote for it and pass it enmasse. You see; this is why I am afraid for this country. This is our president who must have at least one thing uppermost in his mind that he wants to resolve before leaving and the first thing he could have done is change the constitution. When other issues on ground such as the economy; insecurity; education; roads; healthcare are all on the ground. Deliberately did not mention power Pray!!!; did he widely consulted ort just relying on the overwhelming majority in the house for pdp to get it through ?I did not vote for him; however I was part of the people who said we should give him chance to prove himself. I advocated for 6 months, we are a couple of months down and what do we have?? – Insecurity; possibly divisive banking system with an inactive govt and now this!!!!. May the Lord help us. |
Hello all, finally what I feared is happening. This clearly shows that religion overshadows most of our economic thinking in this country. I am a Christian; works within the financial sector - I said this to clear up any issues of sentiments later on. first; to some extent;(at least on paper), non interest banking is good for small scale businesses and start up ventures. So I think it’s ok but, (and a big but); Nigeria is a country where religion; especially a particular sect/religion is seen as ever ready to go to war on slight issues; i remember the issue of hosting miss world in Nigeria - a secular (supposedly) state. I don’t like miss world; but do I have to threaten war about it?? CAN said they don’t like Islamic banking; some said they would prefer the name to be non-interest banking; muslins say no way it would be Islamic banking or we would go to war!!!!. ki la gbe ki le ju? I really blame our dear executive govt (presidency) who did not realise that unless God interferes; this may be the beginning of the end. This issue is the most discussed now in churches and on the street; I pray some people would not start burning places of worship over “delay in the implementation”. Ordinarily; I think this is a matter that should be placed in the cooler for a little more time. We need religious tolerance first in this country. By the way I am not a lawyer but can the lawyers in the house tell me the meaning of sedition and whether it’s in our laws and whether what the man said is not equal to sedition? |
hello all, i work within the financial sector of the economy and i am a christian. sentiments aside; the non - interest banking has some good points - charges would still be collected but its a good way of promoting small businesses if properly done. however, running a nation is not only on the basis of economics. as the cbn gov; he is doing his job by promoting what he thinks is best for the economy. i don't agree with him; i believe he is too confrontational and ought to be an adviser to the cbn gov and not the cbn gov himself. however, i still maintain he is doing his job; me thinks the job of deciding whether this country needs this now at this time is for the executives. surprisingly; for a policy that could split this nation; the govt seems to be silent - which i think signifies ignorance or pure fear. Nigeria as we are - if we are to be sincere with ourself - cannot implement non interest banking now. we are too divided along religious lines. the countries where this is being practised are either core Islamic states or developed states that the fear of religious war is not as high as Nigeria. when these Islamic banks open; i fear a lot of Muslims would suddenly feel its a sin to bank with the conventional ones in place now; either for fear of boko haram or being labelled infidels. when zamfara started sharia law years ago; many other states rushed to join, not because they support sharia really - 100% but because the leaders realised that this is the best way to win the heart of their people. this country still has a lot of way to go. there are so many policies and programs this cbn gov is bringing. some quite good; but are the structures in place. i don't think so and the executives who could have called him and silently asked him to take it easy are busy doing what??. it shall be well with us in this country. nice day |
@ fumisko, i'll advice you delete this post and a couple of other ones u've made. not too good. kinda sending the wrong message/invitation. boredom could lead u to make mistakes. take care and God bless. |
Hi All, i think we should give him the element of the doubt. i did not vote for him; i like him but i also feel he's not as strong willed as required. however; this is a democracy - i am willing to give him till end of the year, then we should have a clear cut direction of where we are going. this room is based on the believe i have that he's someone who likes to take his time - irrespective of what is going on around him; the little i know of Mr president he's not in an hurry to perform so why are we surprised - we all knew that from day 1!!!.so 6 months from now is okay. i am assuming he is not willing to hit the ground running; that he has not thought of a team to work with him since the campaign days; that he even does not have a working plan and would require some time to draft it. i am even willing to assume that he's not been in govt. see; i am willing to give him the element of the doubt for 6 months before making up my mind. i wish him and indeed all Nigerians the best of luck. we are in this together; courtesy of democracy rule of numbers so the earlier we all join hands to make it work the better. lets not criticise him; he daily makes blunders but then he has been doing that before the election so its no longer big deal; lets offer creative advises until he fails consistently to take those advises. nice day |
@ Mobinga, pls that picture was most likely from a train accident. pls don't fan the violence embers. kindly retract it if possible |
@ SUV That I don't support violence in any form is why i have called on the BB team on this fora and via fb; the bb vanguard page and the buhari4change pages that they need to call forpeace now. @ Genbuhari pls don't fan the embers of violence, lets not make inciting statements here pls. Nigeria belongs to us all @ All lets make this forum an effective and vibrant one, i need email address/phone number of either GMB or Pastor Bakare, lets call on them to sue for peace. they might not have sent these people but at least they need to come out publicly and sue for peace. this is not the Nigeria i dream about. thank you |
Hello all, I,m from SW and voted BB. however I am totally against violence in all forms; please I'm calling on the leadership of CPC/BB and northern leaders to appeal for calm. this would only make things worse. on this forum lets do the same please and not fan the embers of violence. thank you |
hello jarus, can the jingle be posted here please. some of us don't listen to radio that much thanks and well done so far |
thank you sagamite. I'll wait for jarus (who i know would be extra extra busy today) & tkb417. thanks once again enjoy ur day |
Hello All, honestly, i would desist from reading Nl until close of business. i would not be reading in the office again. you guys nearly kill me with laughter just after my lunch. please, want kind of joke is this ![]() i am sure the poster just want to deliberately and wickedly crack up our ribs. i just cant stop laughing. thank you beaf. i like this. thank you all |
Hello Jarus; tkb417 & Sagamite, don't know if this is the right thread to do this. a grad (agric - econs 2.2); acib (associate, CIBN) and working in the financial services (credit) for some time now. really really want to do the cfa but don't know where to go for lectures here in lag. secondly after finishing my cibn; there has been a deluge of different ideas- mostly ppl saying cfa is hard; expensive and irrelevant to a credit person. so i kinda need ur help - do you think cfa is relevant to credit. i don't want to do the credit admin of nigeria thing; think its lame. i am yet to get any other credit prof body of repute. i am analytical; fairly good with numbers too. i just want to give my career a boost really. so what do u advise pls?? |
Hello Guys, honestly do you guys want me to start crying ![]() well done. that's all i can say. really wish i can financially assist but currently tight. well done once again. i have been reading this thread for some days and really really touched. i am doing my own but compared to what you guys are doing its like just a drop in the ocean. i can safely say i talk to at least 1 person a day (on the average) about voting bb. just a suggestion - i guess most of us are youths and have aged parents at home/village or siblings, please even if it is via text mesage lets inform them to vote bb; otherwise they should simply not vote at all. i believe every vote counts. once again well done and God bless. thanks. |
Hello All, please can anyone help with answers to the following questions: 1. who is the vendor being referred to by the inec boss - the company name and possibly the promoters please 2. the plane landed 9am. obviously it was in air as at 8am when poll centres should be opening; what happended between 8am and 12 when announcement was made 3. with the plethora of security agencies; committees and special advisers: i am sure they generate security reports on a daily basis. how come the president; VP and other key officials are unaware of the absence or no-arrival of key materials in the country. it does not mean interference but if security agencies can not even confirm arrival and clearance of sensitive materials they are supposed to guard, then there is a massive problem here. thanks for your answers. i believe it would help us all move forward. thank you |
Hello All, now wait a minute, can our learned colleagues give us an impartial analysis here please. I know trenchard partners is a commercial law firm so i don't expect them to goof. but the clause on you tube too seems a bit self explanatory. secondly blue never indicated that cpc has been in touch; just mentioned the 24 hours stay (which i found worrying). so where is the truth in this matter and really what is the way forward. to me; while the response from bb is ok; i would have said they should just give a public apology still; in leadership; you sometimes learn to let peace be even when you are right. notwithstanding, bb still has it |
Hello All, now I have always feared something like this is going to happen. if this is true; and i personally think it is - i think the best path to take is to apologize and move forward to a commercial settlement. while i would still vote for gmb. it simply shows that in the heat and passion of things; we need to be constantly careful. i hope some overzealous supporters would not try to sweep this under carpet or call these people names. it sounds political all right but at the same time its IP law. in my opinion; gmb may not even be aware of their complaint but that is not an excuse. a public apology and readiness to make things right would be good enough. come to think of it the use of songs/lyrics by Nigerians is not new and i guess the campaign team most likely took that for liberty/granted. like i have said before; unless something serious happens (like how this issue would be handled and resolved); i am voting bb thank you |
Hello, compared with NN24. I think BON questions were rather lame or that NN24's questions were rather too harsh and too probing. there simply were no good follow up questions in the Bon case while the "1-lady riot squad" for NN24 drilled the contestants. in terms of quality i think BON organisers still have a lot to learn. they need to know that while you fear and respect your president; you need to be direct and say the truth. the kind of questions brf was asked in debates here in Lagos were quite direct and straight forward. more so; gej (with due respect to him) was answering in generalised responses, he was not definite and nobody drilled him further. its a shame the "3 musketeers" were not at this debate cos it would have pointed out this obvious lack of concise responses, thank you |

Hello All, please can you help me clarify. the news i heard was that the presidential debate would be on Wednesday. seems u guys are saying today. now I am confused cos it seems Nigerian friendly match is also today. obviously there is a mix up somewhere. cos same bon cannot be airing debate and match at the same time. so one of the 2 is not rightly positioned/timed. kindly help confirm pls. thank u |
Hello All, I watched the debate live. Shekarau was good. he applied his current experience right in most of the questions asked Ribadu was very good until he starts jabbing unnecessarily and messed up the anti-corruption question Buhari was ok. could do better really but i was not diasspointed. i have known him to be a cautious speaker. how can you be given 2 minutes to close and you finished your closing statement in 1 minutes. just to tell you he wont be talking much if he wins; the vp (bakare) can talk though so no wahala. this is a man orgnising 45 minutes campaign; you get there only to realise he has finished. short and too brief. so gej was actually playing it safe by not coming to the debate - he is equally not an eloquent man with propensity to say the wrong things when impromptu. however, we wait for 29th march. expo or no expo the truth would still smell out thank you |
