helinues: Except if what INEC violated about their guidelines is in the new electoral act, if not na dust bin petition.
Inec is an independent body which can make decisions on their own. If there proposed guidelines won't work effectively, they have right to change it as an independent body without consulting any one Goodness! What a line of argument to hold🤦. So you are saying that INEC that is supposed to be an unbiased and impartial umpire, has right to unilaterally change the guidelines for the conduct of the election that they have already issued to contesting parties without letting the parties know of the change in rules? It’s like saying that because the referee is the chief umpire of a football game, he can decide, mid game, that every handball would be punished with a red card in total disregard for the rule of the game that has guided previous football games. Does that make sense to you? And do you think the outcome of such match will stand? Mynd44 Nlfpmod |

I fear they might use Osun case to set a precedence that would be used to help Tinubu’s case. His Excellency, Peter Obi, who is the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded presidential election and one of the petitioners, has arrived the Appeal Court - venue of the tribunal proceedings.
With what I’ve seen of Obi, I won’t be surprised if he attends all court sittings until the day the court will rule on the case.

Benwallt: You will agree with me that it is when you(not you in particular) don't know an answer to a question they you employ guessing. With Okadigbo, that's the final answer, with Mama Dora Akunyili, she's still the final answer and not because they are dead as you opined.
When you talk of passion, patriotism and love for one indivisible Nigeria, these two will make you forget where you come from. I revere them, I reverence them and I reverend them.
The saddest thing is that both suffered and received their worst antagonisms from their own people. Dora in death is still far ahead of Okonjo Iweala. You know how many people benefitted from the wealth of her expertise and experience? She single handedly calmed a angry and stormy sea. I don't have nothing against Okonjo Iweala. Being great goes beyond just representing your country in an international organisation that has little or no impact on people's lives.
Obi is nothing close to Okadigbo. Nothing. Okadigbo is everything Obi can never be with his own brand of divide, destroy and conquer politics. That's not what Dr. Chuba Okadigbo stands for. With him on the ballot I wouldn't have any other choice. It is painful that people like these are gone.
Do we have Igbo politicians that are anti Igbo and still represent igbos in different political office? No, we don't. What you people have done is , you have suppressed the good ones because of miscalculation and the bad ones have seized the opportunity. When a fine and relatively unknown Igbo man rise, you lots will quickly pull him down so that he won't change the bad trajectory.
All Igbos in elective political offices were elected by Igbos not Yorubas. This same Obi that has suddenly elevated into hero status was bashed, slandered, condermed and almost destroyed by his own people when he was governor. Had it been he couldn't find the courage to live above those vilified vituperations he would have been driven inside like others.
Other Nigerians from West, north and south are not the problem of Igbo people. The enemy is within and that's what is making it difficult. What I like about my engagement with you is that you sound reasonable and articulate. Quite unlike most other Tinubu supporters. That said, I understand your submission of the problem of Igbos being Igbos (the enemy within). But these enemies within couldn’t have been effective if they are not always being sustained by the enemies without. Most Nigerians would rather vote an Umahi, not because of his works per se, than any Igbo man they think Igbos like no matter how competent he is. The fact that Igbos like him automatically disqualifies him. See, don’t try to rationalize the systemic exclusion of Igbos from the corridors of power of the Nigerian State as being the sole fault of Igbos themselves, Nigeria is still fighting the Civil War against the Igbos 40 years after the war ended and it’s pathetic. |

Benwallt: I can see that you have a little problem with comprehension or perhaps, you are being cynically mischievous. You boys should be engaging the likes of Festus keyamo, FFK, or Bashir that will jump into the mud with you guys in a roforofo fight. You can't expect an academic deity like prof. to be chasing after housefly when he knows that all that is required to chase the unwanted and destructive flies away is to remain calm.
He gave his interview, articulated his position and left the stage for you and Chimamanda to share the crumbs. If you can take time to reflect you will see that he doesn't listen from the point he done with the interview. It pained all of you that he didn't reply to your plethora of messages. That's wisdom.
The way the president elect goes about doing his things while you and Chimamanda even cried to the Whitehorse. Pim" you won't hear from him. That's equally wisdom. Sadly, it is one essential feature that has eluded the so called obidients.
On Chimaroke, it is very obvious he is in a class of his own. I have come to accord him the same measure of respect I have for the illustrious Chuba Okadigbo and Dora Akunyili both of blessed memory. The two finest export from southeast Funny how you are extolling Chuba Okadigbo and Dora Akunyili now because they are dead. If they were to be alive and seek to become anything in Nigeria politically, it is still with this same mouth of yours that you would have condemned them and declared them unfit. Because whatever Akunyili was, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala equally is and probably more. But you won’t acknowledge her because she’s not dead yet and fear she might seek political post tomorrow. Similarly, whatever Chuba Okadigbo was, Peter Obi is and probably more. But Obi is evil to you because he’s coming against your lord and master who has all the baggage in the world. Over the years you lots have only come to accept only Igbo politicians who are anti Igbo as the ones who are Nigerian enough. But that era is rapidly going and very soon, characters like Chimaroke, Okorocha, Umahi, Uzodimma, OUK and co, will have no place in the Igbo political landscape. |

His quietness is not to expose chimamanda's foolishness. He can't join issues with a girl that is not even old enough to be his granddaughter. There is wisdom in silence. It speaks volume. It is not a sign of cowardice. You can see that Chimamanda quick ran to romance the prof. in a picture some days after the interview. Lol! So after all this your long argument, you still came back to my earlier submission that Chimamanda schooled Soyinka into silence? You know that Obidients were out and ready for him anyhow he wanted it and for however long he wanted it. So he had no choice than to slide into the silence whence he came. If we defeated Chimaroke with his big grammar and madness on Twitter and at his polling unit, Soyinka is a small fry. |

It's always the same crooked and deceptive game all the time, Nigeria is so lucky that God rejected this evil and bigoted clown. Rest in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Whatever happened to Soyinka, he invited it upon himself. Prior to his ignominious adventure into trying to rationalize the sham election organized by INEC, every Nigerian, including Obidients, held Soyinka in high esteem. But like an Igbo proverb says, if an elder refuses to respect himself, children will play with his testicles. Soyinka refused to respect himself when he tried to give his imprimatur to an election that the entire world condemned. aswani: Penguin2,
Interesting response and thanks for educating me, I genuinely thought it was natural for these Lagos boys to drift to their fellow Lagosians of Yoruba origin, rather than Ibo boys (across the Niger), because of a shared childhood experience, never realised there were undertones caused by the segregation you mentioned.
Hopefully all of that can be corrected in a way that they will naturally accept that they can be proud of their Ibo heritage.
As for Sunday Oliseh, dat wan stubborn die from what I've heard. You might just have to accept that he is a lost cause. Oliseh can burn to ashes with his stubbornness for all I care. |

aswani: Cheers for the explanation, I am sure Oliseh said this about 2 years ago or maybe he repeated it again which would be a shame as this is not the time to heat up the polity.
Stuff like this is not surprising, for example in Ogun state, some Remọ people will tell you they are Ìjẹ̀bú's whole others claim Remọ are a distinct subgroup.
Having mingled ariund Lagos boys with Delta state Ibo ancestry, I have to say I have heard one or two attest to other Ibo's jokingly refer to them as not "core" ibo. Same with Lagosians with Edo ancestry
Why what Oliseh said is another topic for contention that has morphed into additional "Tinubu vs Obi" battle is another matter sha. Well, you need to understand the times we are in. That’s why every occurrence will be viewed through political prisms. Meanwhile, I think our fathers (Igbo Fathers) were guilty of segregating the Delta Igbos especially after the war. We the younger generation want to change this narrative and stop every segregation of the past by extending hand of brotherhood, love and light to our Igbo kindreds across the Niger and elsewhere. Some postwar occurrences brought about the current ethnic crisis that some of them have. But the onus is on some of us with the right history to reconfigure the brains of some of these guys and make them learn the right history of their origin. |
