Politics › Re: Opinion: Kwankwaso And Obi's Alliance Almost Impossible by Penguin2: 5:16am On Jun 19, 2022 |
NaughtyBrainiac: The Alliance will most likely NEVER work because Kwankwaso can NEVER be Peter Obi's Vice. Kwankwaso is bigger than Obi. Conduct a presidential Election today between Kwankwaso and Obi and Kwankwaso would definitely win.
As we all know, Obi won't turn down VP in PDP only to accept VP in NNPP. More so, the whole Obi noise will die if he accepts a VP position.
I am suspecting a last minute alliance of APC and NNPP or PDP and NNPP (depending on the terms that favour Kwankwaso).
Both Kwankwaso and Obi cannot win a National Election but they can spoil things Never say never… You haven’t heard that before? |

LP = Losers Party
This is exactly the same way Obi will lose. But Peter Obi's social media bandits will soon start wailing again this blessed Sunday. They will flood Nairaland with their miserable tears as if we are responsible for their sorrows and miserable life. If they like they should wail till eternity, nobody cares. The problem with some of you is that you seem to have acute difficulty in differentiating data. The frenzy about Labour Party is strictly around Peter Obi and not about any state elections. Ask the residents all the states that are supporting Labour Party, you will realize that most of them are either voting PDP or APC in state elections but for presidential elections, the agenda is to deliver Obi. So do not judge from Ekiti gubers. There was never a time any Obi supporter said Labour Party will win Ekiti elections. So you people should grow up. |

Politics › Is The “I Am Not Igbo” Statement Haunting Wike? by Penguin2(op): 9:35am On Jun 18, 2022 |
In the space of less than a month, the governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has lost two important political battles he faced that could have put him on the path to the presidency.
First, he failed to pick the PDP presidential ticket and second, he failed being named as running mate to Atiku Abubakar even after multiple sources reported that PDP panel set up to look for a running mate for Atiku voted for Wike at a 16 to 3 ratio against Okowa who was eventually picked.
The question one needs to ask is why these sudden misfortunes on Wike?
Well, we all know how loudmouthed he is and how he does not know how to pick his fight, but I think his greatest undoing was dissociating himself from the larger Igbo race.
I have always mentioned it that Wike killed his political career the day he made that statement but some shortsighted individuals never agreed with me.
The implication of that statement by Wike is that he relegated himself to an Ikwerre man alone instead of being part of the more populous and influential Igbo race.
Amaechi understood the importance of being part of the larger Igbo family and that’s why he has always mentioned that he is Igbo in all public fora.
Same thing that Ifeanyi Okowa understands by claiming that he is an Igbo man in South south. And believe me, that is what worked in his favour.
The calculation of Atiku and his strategists in picking Okowa is that he will serve as a bridge between Igbos in Southeast and the Southsouth part of the country and help garner votes from that region.
But we all know that for everything that Okowa is, Wike equally is, except that he has told the world he is not and now political strategists can no longer comfortably give to Wike what is meant for the Igbo man because Igbos will not agree. But we wouldn’t mind if an Amaechi or an Okowa gets it.
So in all, it is safe to say that naysayers can now agree with me that Wike killed his political career the day he told the world he is not Igbo.

SmartPolician: Human beings like attention. Even the new electoral law doesn't permit a flagbearer of one party to quit his present party and join another party in the same election season.
Kwankwanso won't step down for Peter Obi. Many young people and Christians will be disappointed if Peter Obi steps aside for Kwankwanso. We cannot ignore those demographics. That's the twist we are in now.
Everyone should be allowed to test their popularity. If this election goes free and fair, I foresee a runoff for the first time in Nigeria's presidential election. I guess you are the one who needs to go back and study the new Electoral Act. There’s something called substitution of candidate by political parties and it will be available till sometimes in August. It is the reason Doyin Okupe was named as a placeholder for potential Labour Party VP from the north. It is same reason Ibrahim Masari was named as placeholder in APC. These two men are likely to be substituted later. Now, same with presidential candidates. A presidential candidate can write INEC to notify it of his/her intention to withdraw from the presidential race and INEC is obligated by law to accept such withdrawal. Now, there’s no law that says after withdrawing as a presidential candidate you cannot be named as Vice Presidential candidate within the stipulated INEC substitution window. So, you see? You are the one who needs to read the law and understand. Fergie001 Garfield1 Ejimatic Vidcom |

“He said the talking is necessary as both APC and PDP has not fielded an Igbo Vice Presidential candidate”
Well, first of all, Ifeanyi Okowa is an Igbo man from Delta State. Even though we will not vote PDP because of him, we will not deny him being Igbo.
Second, Obi will not be VP to anybody.
Osinbajo with all his brains and intelligence couldn’t affect nothing in the Buhari presidency. Which exposes how useless Vice Presidents are.
So, Kwankwaso, the only talk we want to hear is the talk of you stepping down to be Obi’s VP.
Thanks. |

OBAOMO01: Well, this is just my observation. The recent political events seems to be putting so many things unmentioned. The one I observed very well is the issue of Biafra agitation. The President's tenure is gradually moving its expiration period, we all know he is one the reason why the agitation became much intense in the middle of his administration. But the main one which seems to bring the real threats to the Agitation is Peter Obi candidature and as a flagbearer of his political party. So much attention has been drawn to him thereby affecting the usual online sympathy they enjoyed in the past.
Is this the end of the road to Biafra agitation? One of the things fueling the agitation is marginalization of the Igbo man which Buhari took to the highest level. All Igbos have been asking for is a sense of belonging. They wanna feel like they are part of the Nigerian project or if other Nigerians feel they don’t want them, then let us go. I can tell you authoritatively that if by stroke of chance Peter Obi wins, the agitation for Biafra will die a natural death. |

The choice dey una hand. |
Politics › Re: Ebonyi Central Senate Is For Amb. Ogbuewu - Igwe by Penguin2: 10:05am On Jun 16, 2022 |
fergie001: This information is presently not correct. The PDP conducted primary on 28 & 29 May where Odii was elected Gov and Ogbee, Ebonyi Central Senatorial Candidate.
The PDP NWC cancelled all primary and rescheduled....the other factions refused to be present and went to Court. In the re-scheduled one, Ogbuewu won Ebonyi Central and Ogba, Guber candidate. However, a FHC judgement in Abakiliki, last week declared the rescheduled primary null and void.
So Lazarus Ogbee is the Candidate as INEC has entered Ogbee, Odii and all those who won on 28 & 29 May, 2022. Unless, Ogba & co wins in the higher Court, they are unknown to Ebonyians in 2023. Oh! Ok. I thought as much. Thanks for the clarification. |

fergie001: Likely true.
Not true.
Also not true.
He has his Guber Candidate, and the State is a PDP State. He can't do much knowing give or take, he will be well-compensated; that is if he still doesn't emerge.
Obaseki is likely heading to LP. Even with Oshio as Governor, PDP won the State. It won't change now, though Obaseki will likely reduce their votes.
He stood a chance with none, APC will likely not have a Guber Candidate, likely no Senator in one of the Zones, and not very strong Candidates on their ballot. It's a clean sweep there for the PDP.
Since Ayade defected, Cross-River PDP have been living on Rivers money. Wike controls the Party 99% there.
He is anti-Wike & pro-Atiku, he doesn't have a choice because he will be on the ballot on same day. 2 out of the three zones are fully PDP , nothing will change there.
Will Okowa make them vote Atiku?
Don't be in a hurry..... So, in your estimation, the youth uprising will not have any effect in the direction of votes anywhere in the Southsouth states? |
