Cantonese:
No, we do not miss Trump.

Ukraine was not weakened militarily by Putin or Biden. Ukraine elected to become an independent state in December 1991 and some conditions followed thereafter. Ukraine was before independence the third strongest nuclear possessor in the world. Before the collapse of the USSR, their nuclear weapons were located in Belarus and Kazaksthan. Possession of nuclear weapons is a deterrent against aggression. That means the Russians cannot choose to go to war directly against the USA and vice versa, including other nuclear armed countries. Russia cannot even dare attack Israel or even Pakistan directly.

Denuclearization of Ukraine following the Budapest memorandum exposed Ukraine to possible attack by the Russians and not Biden. That is what we see today. The Ukrainians agreed to denuclearize their country in return for assistance by the US and NATO. Putin repeatedly says that he does not want Ukraine to belong to NATO. His fear is seeing the Americans at his backyard in Ukraine.

The world has suddenly woken up to the realization of a new Adolf Hitler in the person of Putin. The Truth is that Putin has gotten away with some of his arrogant moves before now, but he may not get away with this.

He threatened unprecedented consequences on the west but he lives in a fool's paradise. He thinks that be is immune to sanctions as he has been saving up, but he will face the repercussions. This very foolish move has driven up the prices of oil and will make Russia richer, but the losses will far outweigh its gains.

Trump unfortunately would not have stopped Putin. All along Putin dreamt of this move and planned it. It was only a matter of time.

The fallout of this action us a new world order just like the cold war days. Russia has aligned with the Chinese and Iran, but the USA had its own allies and will make more.

Lastly, in terms of diplomacy, do you not know that Putin could not have proceeded without alerting Biden and other nuclear powers using the diplomatic backdoor?
You are on point.

But I still insist that if Trump were still president, things would have turned out differently.

And you are right about Putin getting out with so many nonsense in the past which emboldened him.

The world would have dealt with him decisively when he annexed Crimea but they only issued statements and went back home. To this day, Crimea is still Russian territory.

If they don’t rally round to stop him this time, he would be matching to the rest of Europe next. And be then he would be doing so with more allies who must have switched allegiance to them.

To me, I think UN is just a toothless bulldog. The organization should be made to have more powers to invade territories of provocative nations. Just like I think. They should have swifter punishments for coup leaders and Presidents who unilaterally change constitution to perpetuate themselves in power.

Don’t we all miss Trump?

First, if Trump was still POTUS, Putin wouldn’t be taking this action because Trump would have talked him out of it as friends they are.

The American people didn’t like Trump getting close to Putin but Trump was simply using the Sun Tzu principle that says “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”.

However, if Putin dared to attack, Trump wouldn’t be reading sermons by now.

“Waiting till Thursday to address the American people”.

Imagine that nonsense. Russia for don dey collect as e dey hot.

I’m still waiting for Israel sha.

One mind tells me invasion of Ukraine is Putin’s peripheral excuse. Man got more reasons for starting this war. And an eye should be kept on China and Iran.

Politics › Re: Constitution Amendment: NASS Considers Life Pension For Presiding Officers by Penguin2: 6:17am On Feb 24, 2022
I support immunity for presiding officers of NASS after seeing what Saraki went through.

But I do not support life pension them at all.

One of my reasons is that these people don’t have a secured tenure.

Imagine Obasanjo regime that had about 5 senate presidents, so we would have been paying pension to all of them now?

Oh! If those removed from office by impeachment are exempt, then it’s ok.

If presidents and Vice Presidents are paid pension after they leave office, then nothing bad in former presiding officers being paid pension and shielded from undue harassment.

But they would have to reduce their bogus and stupid allowances.

Travel › Re: Fare Hike: Airlines Record Low Booking As Passengers Shun Flights by Penguin2: 7:18pm On Feb 23, 2022
I beg to defer.

This attitude of having everything cheap in this country is the reason foreign investors are not enthusiastic to invest in so many sectors of the Nigerian economy.

These airline operators said they now buy aviation fuel at N410 per litre then add other charges that they pay at airports yet Nigerians want them to be doing Father Christmas for them.

Must you travel by air?

Look at Power Sector, we are against paying the right bills that will allow investors put the right money into buying and installing equipments and facilities that would have improved our light situation.

Now investors are not willing to borrow money and invest in the power sector because they can’t recoup such money since we insist on underpaying.

Same thing with subsidy.

We don’t want subsidy out even as it is totally unsustainable and highly weighing on the nation’s finances.

Please we need to stop that madness.

If we want quality, we must be ready to pay for it.

I’m sure most of those protesting are those who use 25k to book flight and take pictures to oppress people online to feed their fake live.

Politics › Re: Tinubu: Olubadan-elect Didn’t Endorse Any Political Aspirant – Olori by Penguin2: 6:54pm On Feb 23, 2022
Why do Tinubu urchins continue to cause bring more shame on their Jagaban?

First, they claimed Soyinka endorsed Tinubu, Soyinka debunked it and warned that nobody should mention his name in same article with Tinubu.

Second, they claimed Akinwunmi Adesina of AfDB endorsed the urinating drug lord but Adesina denied he ever committed such atrocious act.

Then they landed on the side of Miyetti Allah rejoicing that the terrorist endorsed Tinubu but even those ones two dissociated themselves from such disservice to the Nigerian nation.

Now, they took the madness to the Olubadan-elect who is yet to even sit on his stool trying to impose a lie on the poor old man. I’m not surprised he has come out to debunk such evil act.

Now the question is, “who is really supporting Tinubu gan gan”?

Because me I no understand why nobody wants to touch him even with a long pole or for his name to be associated with his ambition.

Chai! Tinubu urchins make una wake up naaaaaaah!

Nobody is gonna buy this merchandise you are trying to market.

Politics › Re: The Contest Should Be Between Peter Obi And Yemi Osinbajo by Penguin2: 6:26pm On Feb 23, 2022
LegendHero:
Osinbajo will defeat Peter Obi with the highest margin ever in a presidential election.

NW & NE will give minimum of 65- 75% to Osinbajo because Peter Obi is not sellable in the core North just as Buhari is not sellable in the SE.

Osinbajo will clear the SW with at least 80% because he will campaign not only on his capability but with the fact that he is from the family of Awolowo through marriage. Also, a Yoruba on the ballot historically always get bloc vote from the SW.

NC will be divided into 50/50% at least and I think Osinbajo might have a 55% lead over Obi when you factor Kwara and Kogi with the fact that they are both Christian’s so the Pleateau, Benue, and etc can go either way.

Peter Obi will clear the SS with at least 75% and will clear the SE with over 90% of the votes.

Do the maths yourself and you will understand my first statement.
I laugh in Ogun ritual killings grin

The only reason Osinbajo will win Peter Obi is not because Osinbajo is more popular or more capable. No.

It is simply because the SW will employ its usual tool - propagation of Igbophobia.

Already, you lots have succeeded in pinning the ethnic bigot tag on Obi up north. And now the northerners think Peter Obi will deport them from the entire south if he becomes president. Una wehdone.

So I agree that Peter Obi will lose to Osinbajo not because of anything else but for the sole reason we all know.

Ndi ala!

Instead of Yoruba press, both print, audio-visual and social media, to launch a serious anti ritual campaign, they are rather fixated on Mkpurummiri, IPOB, propagation of Igbophobia and promoting an old senile drug lord who has started urinating on himself for presidency.

Thank goodness for social media.

Because Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Press had painted the picture that Igbo people in general are ritualists while Anambra in particular is the headquarters.

But all those lies have been bursted now. The world now knows who the ritualists are and where ritual killings is headquartered.

Igbos are too busy with entrepreneurship to have time to murder their fellow humans. Add that we place a lot of value on human life.

When we telling folks who has never left Ogbomoso about the reality of things on ground, they will be arguing with us.

The one that is most hilarious to me is when some Tinubu urchins say that Tinubu can even 40 percent of votes in states like Imo because Imo is an APC state.

As things stand, it will only take another abracadabra for Hope Uzodimma to win re-election in Imo State and he knows it.

It doesn’t matter what Uzodimma does from now on but I can tell you authoritatively that Ndi Imo will not vote for him in 2023.

The only way Ndigbo will vote APC is if an Igbo man is the presidential flag-bearer.

But if APC wishes, it can give it to a Yoruba man let’s see if the divided votes of the Southwest and some section of the north is enough to deliver the presidency to them.
