Thank God Justice Inyang Okoro is not a member of the panel (supposing this list is authentic), I was already hearing some rumors about him.

I can’t trust Nigerian judges but I trust this panel.

Whatever they arrive at, we’ll live with the consequences. But I’m satisfied that there’s no Ariwoola and no Kekere Ekun on the panel.

Primary school pupils kneel as they beg Gov. Godwin Obaseki to rehabilitate their dilapidated school.

In the video, a man could be seen lamenting the state of the classroom block of the school which was built with mud blocks and is now collapsing due to the effect rain as caused by leaky zinc.

The entire scene is an eyesore and calls to huge question the level of poor leadership that the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki has provided in education in Edo State.

Hopefully respite will come to the school for the sake of the future of the young children in the school.

N135bn debt: Court strikes out AMCON’s case against Ifeanyi Ubah

The criminal charge filed by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) against Ifeanyi Ubah and his company, Capital Oil and Gas Limited, has been dismissed by the federal high court sitting in Lagos.

At the hearing on Wednesday, Channels TV said Oluwaseun Onabowu, counsel to AMCON, gave an oral application to withdraw the suit.

Ubah, the senator representing Anambra south, and Capital Oil were hit with a lawsuit for alleged false claims and a debt of N135 billion.

The federal government had in 2019, filed charges against Ubah and Capital Oil, leading to the court, on June 13, 2023, directing criminal summons be issued to the senator and his company.

The order was given on an 8-count charge bordering on his alleged indebtedness to AMCON.

According to the debt-recovery agency, Ubah and Capital Oil allegedly conspired to make false claims in relation to the actual values of certain assets transferred to AMCON under a consent judgment he and his company made with AMCON.

The defendants were also alleged to have obstructed AMCON in the realisation of part of his outstanding debt of N135 billion by frustrating the sale of a property at Banana Island, Lagos.

Speaking at the proceedings, Onabowu said the parties had agreed to withdraw the case against the senator in Lagos after a consent judgment was reached in a sister case before the federal capital territory (FCT) court in Abuja.

The court was urged by the AMCON counsel to strike out the charge filed against the defendants.

Affirming the position of AMCON, Ifeoma Esom, the lawyer to Ubah and Capital Oil, confirmed to the court that agreements have been reached with the complainant.

Subsequently, Nicholas Oweibo, the presiding judge, struck out the charge.

Tinubu’s global disgrace is on course

In May when Dangote Refinery was commissioned by former President Buhari, sane Nigerians like us questioned the commissioning of a facility that was not ready but we were tagged haters.

We were further accused of being jealous because the refinery is not owned by an Igbo man. We said okay.

Dangote and his commissioned liars, including Agbado cretins, swore the refinery will start refining fuel by July/August of this year and we said okay; let’s wait and see.

July came, no show.

August came, no show.

September came, still no show.

We are in October now, and we are hearing Dangote is now one of the licensed importers of crude instead of him to tell us when his refinery is coming on stream.

So I want to ask, where is Dangote Refinery?

Are those of us who refused to be impressed by the facade still haters?

An independent report before the scam inauguration said the refinery will be ready by first quarter of 2024. But who knows if that is even achievable right now.

You will agree with me that this recent depositions only took place either this month or late last month.

They were not before the tribunal.

When they say a document is dumped before the Court is when it is tendered from the bar and the maker of the document does not come to testify to that document. South West (or Daley) College did not send depositions or even appeared before the tribunal, same as CSU.

The witness (even if he appeared before the tribunal) is not the maker of that document.

You must speak to those documents.

I like the fact that you acknowledged that Peter Mbah’s escape is a product of State Capture. It’s the reason Mbah kept visiting and revisiting Tinubu during the Tribunal. And I suppose it would be their payback to Ugwuanyi as member of the G5 to helped scatter PDP.

But I just want you to know that what you said about Mbah is also true of Tinubu.

The Tribunal ignored a lot of things and set a lot of dangerous precedences that if allowed to stand by the Supreme Court would set us several years backwards.

They said INEC had powers to choose how to transmit votes which they did. INEC chose to transmit electronically and they told the world that much. But on Election Day they INEC did the opposite of what they said and what was contained in their guidelines.

But the Tribunal looked at those things and said INEC did no wrong.

Abeg, whatever they wanna do with Nigeria, let them carry on.

But as far as I’m concerned, wrong will never be right in my eyes no matter how much it’s reinforced or laundered with propaganda by the most prestigious of media platforms.

The documents were dumped on the tribunal. No witnesses from CSU and even the recent written depositions were not before the lower Court.

What was before the Court was the Diploma with which he got admitted to CSU. Like for example, the Govt College 1970 issue was unknown.
It took the rulings of the Court for CSU to give it to Atiku's lawyers only but recently.

The witnesses from CSU have to be in Court via subpoena. The only time the Supreme Court can accept any new evidence is if it bothers on JURISDICTION.

I have said it many times that Atiku has no intention of pursuing Tinubu in 2023, he wants him (Tinubu) out of 2027.

Well, the last thing I wanna do right now is go back and forth on anything that regards what the courts are going rule as regards the election. They can even go ahead and say that the 2022 Electoral Act was wrongly signed just to spare Tinubu. That’s their business.

But I followed the case at the Tribunal and I remember that these documents were all submitted to the PEPT through Atiku’s witness who got them from CSU through subpoena.

The discrepancies we have now were all noticed there.

The Southwest College degree with “F” on it was among what was submitted as well.

So, there’s nothing Atiku got from CSU that is not already before the court. What he has just succeeded in doing now is that he succeeded in putting more force of law to the documents.

Lastly, I don’t understand what you people mean when say evidence was dumped on the court…. All these are just jargons that the courts use to overlook the merit of a case and dwell into technicalities.

My position is that other things you mentioned might have been wrong but I still think placing FX restriction on those 43 items was a good policy if we look at it dispassionately.

The idea was to force people to produce those products locally if they can’t access forex to import them which would have helped increase local production and self sufficiency but things didn’t just go as planned.
