@poster, Try studying your bible properly. You should find that the new covenant in which we now live (or should now live, since some people obviously prefer the old one, which Jesus came to set us free from) is based on God's grace and not works! All those offerings and seeds etc. are not required of Christians! Most of the men who masquerade as men of god don't even know their left from their right (or maybe they do, but deliberately choose to deceive people since they won't study their bibles for themselves but rely on "every word that comes out of the mouth of the man of god" .Please study your bible. Please. Most of your questions should be answered. ![]() |
Bobbyaf:GBAM! ![]()
Genesis 1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day I dont know what your understanding of light is? ![]() Neither am I sure of your comprehension skills?
Another resounding GBAM! ![]() |

Pastors always preach that the old testament and the law is an old convenant and is outdated. i was just wondering why paying tithe was not "hung on the cross" like the laws of old just wondering!
![]() |
davidylan:Hmm, True words! Abuzola:No its directly related to the issue you raised. You (the poster actually) quoted Moses saying to the Israelites that God will raise up a Prophet like himself from among them. You (abi na the poster again) said that this meant from Abraham's descendants, so I quoted the passage from Genesis 17 to show that God wasnt confused as to which of Abraham's descendants he was going to establish his covenant with, since you guys claim muhammad descended from Ishmael. |
davidylan:Chei! I just found some materials online about this. This is serious o! And to think, that Muhammad forgot to include it in the Koran? Unbelievable! ![]() One thing I still can't understand though. And I may probably need Abuzola and co's help on this one - Why in the world are you muslims trying to smuggle your prophet into the Bible? Why? The same bible bible you claim to be corrupt? You know, I just found an article to that effect online, written by a muslim "scholar". I didn't even go half-way through before getting tired of the crap! The thing smacked of desperation! Why're they trying to smuggle the guy in? How come its this important to them and it wasn't for muhamamad (since he forgot to include it in their book)? |
olaleo:Temper, Temper, temper, ![]() The thing dey vex you no be small abi?? No be today ![]() Seriously, why don't you prove me wrong by posting intelligently instead of ranting like you've done? You've only shed more light on how terribly skewed you guys' reasoning/logic is. ![]() @Abuzola, I've done my research on Abraham's offspring and its crystal-clear that in terms of God's covenant/plans&purposes Ishmael was never in the picture! And I say this because to the best of my knowledge, Islamic traditions have it that Muhammad is a descendant of Abraham by Ishmael. But God was very specific about which of Abraham's offspring he was going to establish his covenant with, even before Isaac was born! Take a look at this passage from Genesis 17: 15 ¶ And God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. 16 I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her; I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her." 17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said to himself, "Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?" 18 And Abraham said to God, "O that Ishmael might live in thy sight!" 19 God said, "No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. 20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him and make him fruitful and multiply him exceedingly; he shall be the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this season next year." Please read the passage again and again and let it sink in. I'm not sure what you guys are up to these days, trying so hard to smuggle Muhammad into the same bible you people claim has been corrupted. ![]() |
Abuzola:Ehen! Abuzola don show! ![]() JeSoul:Girl, that was cold you know ![]() KunleOshob:Chei! This one na finishing move o! ![]() |
Abuzola:which crappy truth is dat eh? ![]() |
![]() |
JeSoul:em, but we know thats usually not (only) where these monies go, especially in the case of our penterascal churches ![]() I mean, you forgot to mention that the newly acquired tear-rubber private jet needs to be fueled etc. ![]() |
Jagoon:You got me rolling all over the floor with this one! ![]() |
DISTINCT89:@DISTINCT89, I just saw your brother in allah's thread were he claimed that Moses was referring to Muhammed when he told the Israleites that God was going to send someone special among them, "from among them". I stated there (to him) what I'm about to say here now, to you - YOU NEED HELP! FAST!! But e be like say I no go fit foot the bill as una don dey plenty now o, ![]() And em, @ david and mazaje, need I remind you guys that this the religion section and not the jokes section? ![]() |
Haksalam:Mr. Poster, Moses did talk about the person God was going to the Israleites, from among their own brethren. This simply meant the person was going to be a jew like them (the Israelites he was addressing) not an Ishmaelite. Still wondering how you arrived at your stupid conclusion that Moses was referring to Muhammed, I think I need to tell you what most people here have been saying indirectly in very plain terms - you need help! And I seriously don't mind footing the bill. ![]() Just when I thought Abuzola was one of a kind, What rubbish! ![]() |
chukwudi44:Bros e be like say you never understand the mallam, he's so talented, he can read things backwards or upside down.I'm just not sure which of the two he did with your post. ![]() |
Abuzola:Abuzola, for the umpteenth time, the bible hasn't been corrupted! And chukwudi's post clearly says that. Or did you read it backwards?? tsalam:tsalam, em, what has Islam being the "fastest growing religion" got to do with truth? ![]() I know Christmas and Easter have pagan origins but how does that affect Christianity itself? I admit that one of the problems with most christians is how they invent and propagate unbiblical/unchristian ideas but em, how's that your problem?? ![]() |
@chukwudi44, Thanks for your informative post! ![]() |
@tsalam, I really wouldn't mind shedding some light on the council of nicaea issue but with the level of understanding you and abuzola (a living legend on NL, in this regard) have shown, it'll be a pure waste of time. Sorry ![]() |
tsalam:what the ?? ![]() |
Abuzola:Sure I know about the Constantine and the council of Nicaea! And I can assure you, you have no idea what the council of Nicaea was about. ![]() And besides, as long as the truth of the gospel (e.g. Jesus' divinity) was concerned, the council of Nicaea was completely irrelevant! |
Abuzola:There is absolutely no evidence that the bible has been revised, edited, or tampered with in any systematic manner! Any unbiased ancient document scholar will agree that the Bible has been remarkably well-preserved over the centuries. So whats your point?? if the bible has been corrupted was it before or after your "allah" pointed christians and jews to it? All you've said is pointless ![]() |
Abuzola:Abuzola, I think you forgot to explain the connection between mohammed and Isaiah 29:12 |
Abuzola:How can one "act according to" the bible and koran which are completely incompatible?? ![]() |
Haksalam:@HakSalam, Here's Isaiah 29:12 in its proper context. I wanted to start from verse of 1 but just to cut it short I started from 7. I've also emboldened verse 12, which you said talks about Mohammed: 7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, all that fight against her and her stronghold and distress her, shall be like a dream, a vision of the night. 8 As when a hungry man dreams he is eating and awakes with his hunger not satisfied, or as when a thirsty man dreams he is drinking and awakes faint, with his thirst not quenched, so shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight against Mount Zion. 9 ¶ Stupefy yourselves and be in a stupor, blind yourselves and be blind! Be drunk, but not with wine; stagger, but not with strong drink! 10 For the LORD has poured out upon you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, the prophets, and covered your heads, the seers. 11 And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying, "Read this," he says, "I cannot, for it is sealed." 12 And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying, "Read this," he says, "I cannot read." 13 And the Lord said: "Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men learned by rote; 14 therefore, behold, I will again do marvelous things with this people, wonderful and marvelous; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hid." 15 Woe to those who hide deep from the LORD their counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, "Who sees us? Who knows us?" How does that speak of the coming of mohammed? I do hope its not the effect of the fast thats getting to you sha?? ![]() |
Furthermore, I think the very idea of a pastor claiming the "Holy Spirit" teaches him all he needs to know and uses that to justify his ignorance of the scriptures if false. The Holy Spirit no longer gives anyone any new revelation other than what's been revealed by the prophets and ultimately, by God's son (Hebrews 1:2) - and by extension, the apostles. Everybody else (ministers) should defer to what was laid down by them. Here's a clear example of what our ministers should be doing, rather than waiting on some voice to speak to them: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 |
Of course ministers should have a thorough knowledge of the scriptures (as if they have an alternative ) but I don't think it has to be something formal. |
KunleOshob:That clearly describes these charlatans.
This is really becoming an annoying problem. . . . Worst is the bainwashed congregation fail to see these two-kobo bastard pastors for the crooks they are. It's shameless kleptomaniacs like idahosa, oyedepo, Adeboye and co that pioneered this holy crime business. The early nigerian church was all about righteousness, holiness and charity but when these hungry fools appeared on scene with their "word of faith" crap it became money! money! money! The government had better do something about this growing trend. Advance fee fraud has graduated into something hollier. . . It was a good first step banning fake and staged miracles on TV by charlatans like pastor chris. We just hope to see more action.
Quite true. |
KunleOshob: ![]() But em, come to think of it, I think its not fair o! Haba! Shebi they said its 72 virgins waiting for the guys na, why is it only 7 for the women? DIs is not ![]() |
