Yawa,

Thanks for your input! Please understand that I never meant to be insultive. Its just that some folks like to be told upfront what they're getting into and others can be very difficult to persuade when it comes to pricing. but your approach seems better and I'll adjust accordingly.

Thanks again!

Afam:
Content in bold refers, someone that can easily and quickly do what you put down above would most likely have very good experience and skill set about developing dynamic/database driven websites so the part where you stated very low cost may be your undoing.

Just like you cannot buy a hummer jeep with the amount good enough for a volkswagen beetle you cannot get fully functional database driven websites at very low prices especially when you are not talking about a single solution that would be sold to millions of people.

I needed to clarify this because chances are you would come back here in future to complain about the quality of work by Nigerian developers if they agree to work at very low costs and are unable to deliver on what you want.

There is what is called appropriate pricing, understand it and stick to it and you will hardly run into problems with people or projects.

Many thanks for your time and feel free to discard the above if need be.
Afam,

Thanks a bunch for pointing that out! grin

I'll modify my post accordingly.

Christianity EtcRe: Bakare Vs Oyedepo, Adeboye, Kumuyi by petres007(m): 5:51pm On Nov 21, 2009
Well, I agree with Pastor Bakare on this one - that the teachings of our dear bishop are at the very least, unbiblical. But only christians who bother to study the bible for themselves would discern. Imagine someone saying that the bottle of anointing oil is the "holy spirit in a bottle" or the "life of god in a bottle". If I didn't know better I would have sworn that even the most ignorant christian would never say something that blasphemous.  undecided

I also agree that this widespread teaching of wealth/prosperity of which the bishop is a major promoter, is purely unbiblical. I read the comments of the pastors who were interviewed about this and couldn't stop shaking my head. undecided I wonder what bible they're reading! Or maybe, just maybe, they're reading it backwards.   cheesy grin grin grin
Doesn't it bother you guys that your salvation rests on a very thin line. You are so deperate to create a God that never was. The question with jesus is not actually whether his a a true God or a false one. The question is whether he is even a God at all. This man lived for 33 years and he never for once voiced 'i am God' or even 'i am son of God'.
Nowhere in the history of man have we heared of such a 'God' that was afraid to declare himself. He had to leave the job of proving his divinity to noetic, nezan and the likes.
Of course they are doing a bad job at it!
Mr Seeker,

One of the main reason's God chose and groomed the Hebrews was to deliver the Christ. Why don't you take a closer look at their responses to certain statements and actions by Jesus? Things that won't make sense to anyone who's not a jew (or isn't familiar with their relationship/history with God).

For example, in the mind of the jew, anyone who comes forgiving sins is either usurping a divine prerogative, or is God himself. We all know Jesus forgave sins and the jews, tried to kill him for blasphemy.

You also said that Jesus never claimed to be the son of God, well, I think you're right on this one too. Here's the proof below:

63 But Jesus kept silence. Again the high priest addressed him, "I adjure you by the Living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God!"

64 "I am He," Jesus answered; "yet I tell you that from this time on you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming upon the clouds of heaven."

65 Then the high priest tore his garments, saying: "He has spoken blasphemy! What further need have we of witnesses? For behold, now you have heard his blasphemy!

What says the HOLY BIBLE?
The bible never refered to mary as "holy mary" but a Virgin. She was just like any other virgin in Isreal. The Bible never recorded that she had any outstanding quality that granted her the right to be the mother of our Lord. It was an act of grace and as predicted that the Saviour must be of the seed of David.
How can we pray to Mary when she prayed like other xtians in the upper room.ACT 2. Niether the Apostles nor the early church as written in the Bible prayed to Mary. Neither did Christ himself give such instruction.
Christ commands us to pra in His name. No more no less.
This is another gospel Gal 1:5-9.
GAS- Gospel According to Satan
Charles68, God bless you for that incisive reponse!

To add to that, I want to remind everyone, that there's not a single instruction from any of the prophets, apostles, or the Lord Jesus himself about honouring (worshipping, in fact) his earthly mother! Even better, there's no example of believers regarding her as such. Not even a hint in that direction. It was something made up much later, after the original apostles had left the scene. I learned it was dogmatized at the first council of Ephesus and has been reaffirmed and revised by different popes over time.

So for one thing "I am against homosexuality"

But to y'all that are really against and show bitter repulsiveness to it, i hope it is in the same vein you regard FORNICATION,ADULTERY and LESBIANISM.
Because to be frank, In the world of sin, there is no kilogram/cm. As they say "sin is sin". So as Homosexuality irritates you,so should the aformentioned vices be too.

JUST BEING FRANK
My guy, I can tell you dat "sin is not sin". At lest not in the bible. Not in Christianity. A good study of the bible should clear this up.

Homosexuality, egotism and greed are some of the "sins" I know to be very grievous (biblically speaking).

And to add to that, I think its worthy of note that God never destroyed a set of people (something he normally would wait till judgement day to do) for lying or stealing,  but he did do it once because of homosexuality,  using them as an example to everyone else. And to think that he even showed up there to see things for himself [maybe he couldn't believe his eyes from way up there],    grin grin grin

Homosexuality is a sin an abomination in God's eyes. Thats clear from the bible!

How do you expect any Rabbi to accept this fact when the Jews killed Jesus 2000 years ago for this same fact: claiming equality with God?

That is the uniqueness about Jesus . . . no living soul, before or after Him has ever claimed this!!

Wish to add here that Jesus Christ also proved his claim to divinity!

These past few years for me as a christian, have been a little shaky. Had to offload much of the crap I'd believed without any questions whatsoever for years. In the process I did a little research about the plausibility of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What I found has strengthened my faith in him more than I can possibly tell.

When I encounter scenarios as in the vid link in the OP, I just try (yes, try so haaaard) to imagine how the OT prophets and the NT apostles would ever have engaged in such "ministries". When money is being "worshipped" in any form (such as in taking the center stage in people's lives and outlook), something is definitely wrong somewhere.

The 'PG' (Prosperity Gospel) enterprise seems to work only when the traffic is pointing to self. "Money cometh to me - NOW". It is not queer that such should be the case, because I would be willing to bet that true spirituality looks out for the welfare of others, not self. Perhaps it is not too much to note that when money and self are the main emphasis of a particular type of ministry enterprise, then the 'PG' rules in such circles.

Christianity EtcRe: What Is Immaculate Conception . . . by petres007(m): 3:13pm On Oct 03, 2009
The Immaculate Conception is, according to Roman Catholic Dogma, the conception of the Virgin Mary without any stain ("macula" in Latin) of original sin. Under this aspect Mary is sometimes called the Immaculata (the Immaculate One), particularly in artistic contexts. The dogma says that, from the first moment of her existence, she was preserved by God from the lack of sanctifying grace that afflicts mankind, and that she was instead filled with divine grace. It is further believed by Catholics that she lived a life completely free from sin.[1] Her immaculate conception in the womb of her mother, through sexual intercourse, should not be confused with the doctrine of the virginal conception of her son Jesus, known as the Virgin Birth.

The feast of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on 8 December, was established as a universal feast in 1476 by Pope Sixtus IV. He did not define the doctrine as a dogma, thus leaving Roman Catholics free to believe in it or not without being accused of heresy; this freedom was reiterated by the Council of Trent. The existence of the feast was a strong indication of the Church's belief in the Immaculate Conception, even before its 19th century definition as a dogma.

The Immaculate Conception was solemnly defined as a dogma by Pope Pius IX in his constitution Ineffabilis Deus on 8 December 1854. The Catholic Church believes that the dogma is supported by Scripture (e.g., Mary's being greeted by the Angel Gabriel as "full of grace"wink as well as either directly or indirectly by the writings of Church Fathers such as Irenaeus of Lyons and Ambrose of Milan.[2][3] Catholic theology maintains that since Jesus became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, it was fitting that she be completely free of sin for expressing her fiat.[4]

In the Catholic Church, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is a Holy Day of Obligation, except where conferences of bishops have decided, with the approval of the Holy See, not to maintain it as such. It is a public holiday in some countries where Roman Catholicism is predominant.

@Banom,

Bros I feel your pain o!

I understand you're an atheist, but I'd like you to know that true biblical Christianity in itself is nothing like what these armed robbers in suit have twisted it to be for selfish reasons. The bible itself is full of warnings about such men! What baffles me is the skillfulness with which these men twist the gospel! If it weren't such a damnable thing they're doing, I think it would've been a good idea if they were all given awards!

Whats happening is also something the bible predicts will happen in latter times:

3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings,

4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.

II Timothy 4:3-4 RSV

As a christian, I admit the trend is an extremely shameful one.  undecided
