Politics / Re: NAF Panthers: Nigerian Airforce Special Forces Squad by pharmade: 10:42am On Apr 20
AnonPoet:
Another elite special force team in Nigeria is the NAF Panthers🔥
Who are the Panthers?
A thread:
The Panthers, under the Nigeria Air force special operation forces (NAF SOF) Are highly trained and specialised unit, equipped to handle unique and challenging missions that requires a high level of skills and expertise.

They serve as a specialist airfield and defense corps and has been active since 2015.
The Nigerian Air Force Special Operations Forces are involved in a variety of missions that require their specialized skills.

They also serve to defend NAF bases and protecting the Air Force interests and its bases across the country, in especially conflict zones like the North East, Maiduguri. The regiment is currently operating in internal security operations in 14 states.

These forces are trained to adapt to different situations and carry out their tasks with precision and effectiveness.
They are included under the NAF special operations command. they've the nicknames or code name "The Panthers".

The Panthers are charged with the role of Non-combatant evacuation operations and Special operations support. They are grouped into different structures and hierarchy such as; VIP Protection Squad, Special Operations Force, Regiment Training Centre, Quick Response Force (QRF).

The Quick Response Squad in Nigeria is equivalent to the U.S Air FORCE 6 Special Forces. The men who make up the QRS are a special breed of warriors, Consisting of special ops, paratroopers, amphibious troops, men of the Nigerian Air Force Quick Response Squad

are trained at a higher level and intensity than the rest of the Nigerian armed forces.

They are well equipped and experts in weapons and intelligence gathering, these rapidly forces deployed bring specialised mobility and firepower to the enemy any time anywhere. Often operating in hostile areas, these highly trained specialists not only provide combat support,

but are skilled parachutists, scuba divers, rock climbers.

The forces wear body armor made of, carry armor-puncturing knives, and don visions systems that can combine visual data with infrared and feeds from UAVs overhead and they make use of weapons like the "Beryl M762 assault rifle" , "IWI Tavor assault rifle."

They have on several occasions proven their worth as they are the sole SpecOps unit of the Air force and are very active in the north west and north east region of Nigeria.

They have Carried out successful missions on bandits and terrorist which include:
Neutralising and suyalizing of 30 bandits on January 2021,Opposing a catastrophic attack in the north west region which 30 operators took on 200+ terrorists and wiping out half of the group.

Rescuing of hostages, and neutralising bandits and terrorists camps and hideout, and other successful missions have been carried out by the NAF Panthers.🔥✨
Why is this kinda classified info on social media? So that the terrorists can know their military capacity and be combat ready for them?
Family / Re: I Want To Cancel The Marriage Plans. Is It Worth It? by pharmade: 11:09pm On Dec 30, 2023
I am not married, but this is my take. Most married men undergo worse things. Secondly, i will need to hear the womans part of the story. Thirdly, it is a man's responsibility to provide for his woman and never to use it as a threat. If you are tired, just tell her rather than oppressing her with what you have done for her. Finally, prayers is necessary before a life time committment, and it is a must. Kindly, seek divine guidiance.
FanRong:
I'm sorry, this post is going to be a long one. But you're saving a soul if you read through and advice candidly.

My story
We've dated for 6months and we've lived together for the 6months.

On our 3rd month, I found her interesting and told her I'll like to marry her. She accepted but no engagement ring or anything to show. We just accepted by word of mouth.

Since then, I've worked towards it. I've told her to call her mum and eldest brother(dad is late) to relate my idea and understand their feeling since it won't be that easy to marry. (same state, but my people and her people are highly selective in marriage)

After several persuasion, and threat that I'll throw her out if she doesn't relate the circumstances to her family, she called the mum. And again I had to force her to call the eldest brother. She claimed she did. And that's enough. I'm ok.

Meanwhile, there's this guy(her ex) she claims helped her when she came to Lagos. It was when I started accommodating her that I found out in her chats that she was living with this guy, but lied to me she was living with her Aunt and the aunt's husband was harassing her sexually and she wants to leave. She later told me the guy, though provides for him but has never had sex with her, even when she was living in his house. These stories doesn't move me since everyone, who is not a virgin has an ex. So I forgave all that and we moved on.

She wasn't everything I need in a women, but I told myself I could train her the way I want. We continued adjusting to each others likes and dislikes.

I feed her this 6 months, provide comfortable shelter, buy her things she needs,(not want). Told her I'll do more and open a shop for her, if we get married, but she still confronts me asking why should I wait till after marriage? . I didn't allow the words move me cos Its my decision and my money and also, I'm used to gold diggers.

A good number of times, I see her as being selfish. If things doesn't benefit her, she'll not get bothered even if I'm involved.

Just this week, It became obvious to me that she argues everything I request her to do. From 24th Dec, we've been on holiday, we're always at home.
1. I'll wake her up at 9 and ask her to prepare breakfast for the family, she'll prefer to roll on the bed than do it. I'll finally have to do it myself so I can get things done and get busy.

2. I detest girls on eye lashes. I've repeatedly told her how I dislike it, but when she went to fix herself for the Christmas, she fixed the eyelashes, Contrary to my demand.

3. I got her some sneakers to upgrade her fashion style and look smarter, instead of the usual slippers and sandals she wears.
When we prepared to go to the beach few days ago, I requested her to put on the sneakers to look more fashionable, but she refused buttressing that she must wear what she wants, sandals.

4. Few days ago, we had a heated argument and she said that if I'm not happy that she's living with me, that she can go, afterall, she has somewhere to stay. I asked her to go and she immediately called that her ex bf to come to my house. I immediately swung into action, took all her belongings out, before the ex will arrive, at the same time, retrieving the items I gifted her.
While she was struggling to have her gifted items back, our neighbours heard the struggle and had to come and settle for us. She apologized and I forgave her. we were back into the house.

5. Just yesterday , we left home together, and I locked the door and I took the keys with me. We walked down the street together to the Busstop, I have almost no friend and seldomly greet. But there's this my ex girlfriend by the roadside, she saw me and yelled my name, I went to greet her and my Fiancée picked offence, left me without waiting for me. After that I chased her and told her it's nothing because I've told her everything about this ex.
Before we could get to the Busstop, she demanded for the house keys and I gave her since she might come back earlier than me.
We couldn't say bye. The anger was clear on her face and we parted ways.

After about 15mins, I got to where I wanted to make payment for the items I picked only to notice I am not with my transaction phone. I was confused where could I have kept it, the seller insisted I may not have come to his shop with the phone, and the phone rang as I called with my second phone. so I had to call my Fiancée for assistance since she's with the keys.
At first, she said she was still around the Busstop but when I told her I needed her to go home and confirm my phones whereabout, she said she can't go back that she has gone far, shouted on me and hung the phone.

I called and called and called, but she didn't pick. Many thoughts ran into me. Who took this phone? My money? , my phone? , my sim card? . I had to find my way and trekked back about 4km to the house since I had no cash with me. And finally saw the phone ringing in my house. I was relieved.

The way she shouted to me on the phone got me unbalanced, I felt she would be fire if I get this girl as a wife.

We finally traveled to our home state today and I paid the bills for the traveling. My major plan of traveling was to see her people and do the needful before I mistakenly get her pregnant. But I'm seriously contemplating of canceling this plan and throw her out come January. I need peace.

Dear nairalanders, I'm really in the middle of the deep blue sea and the devil.

I need mature and candid advice please.
Should I continue with the marriage plans or the redflags are obvious?

When i read the cats and pets part, indeed something is wrong with you.
siofra:
So, I told my parents I don't want to get married. I do not recommend telling your Nigerian parents you don't want to get married😹

My mom put her hand on her head and looked at me with pity lol. She said I don't have a goal in life, she said I'm empty.

My father was even more dramatic. He started praying o. He told me to kneel down and starting casting and binding all the evil spirits and his village people.

Ngl, it was hilarious. It's not like I don't want to get married though, I just wanted to see their reactions.

But why can't parents accept that not everyone wants to follow the way they did things? That I don't want a husband doesn't mean something is wrong with me and I won't be lonely because I plan on having 29 cats, a dozen goats and scores of chickens.

I have this girl I have been dating for 4 years and we are planning to get married to this year. But I notice she does not like to sacrifice. I mean, she is kind of selfish.

she is studying and i send her money aside the one the parent gives to her but if i request for a video call, she would ask me to send her data, if she comes to my house and i don't give her TP not minding that i gave her money some weeks/days back she would be angry.

Yesterday i booked a ticket for her to come to lagos from anambra, after booking she asked me to also send her some feeding money for the journey. I refused and asked her to take from the 20k I sent to her last 2 weeks, she then said " WHO PAYS FOR TP AND NOT GIVES FEEDING MONEY?

Long story short, I had to cancel the ticket. I have constantly complained about her selfishness  but no improvement .

what should i do?

Family / Re: My Dad's Treatment Of My Mum Made Me A Feminist by pharmade: 7:52pm On Mar 08, 2021
SouthNigerian:
Happy International Women's Day to the females out there.

When growing up as a child, my Mom faced a lot of discriminations in the hands of my Dad and his family.

She faced constant assaults physically, emotionally and spiritually. My Dad never wanted my Mom to fulfill her potentials because he felt his authority in the house would be challenged if my Mom become financially independent. My Dad's anti-progressive attitudes towards my Mom drained all her aspirations to become great in life.

She abandoned her lofty ambitions because she's a wife. She left the things that would have made her fulfilled because she's had to save her marriage. My parents lack of cooperation affected my upbringing and education(thanks to exposure and good friends). I could have been making South Nigeria proud if I had good education but hey, here we are grin

I discovered my Mom wasn't the only person in the league of subjugation by men. It came to my knowledge that women are slaved beings in that thing called Marriage. I discovered most men are envious of their women who seek to be free and great in life.

All of my childhood experiences and societal ideologies made me arrive at the conclusion that marriage is nothing but a trap for women. Crazy enough, women are the ones who seek marriage the most.

I have decided never to get married because I believe in great potentials that women harbor. I strongly believe in the strength of women. I believe in women's capabilities.

Many of you guys would say Nigerian Women are useless. How many of you guys would husband a woman who aspire to be as great as Okonjo Iweala, Folorunsho Alakija? How many of you doesn't mind having a wife who is richer and influential than you are? Well, me don't mind seeing my woman greater than I am. Her breakthroughs would only multiply my desire to be greater.

As for me, I have decided to shun marriage. Even if I have to get married in the future, she must be a woman capable of challenging me. What I mean by challenge here isn't the woman who quarrel me, I mean the woman who have a lot to bring on the table. A woman I can gain from intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and of course physically. She must be a woman ready to speak up for other women.

FEMINISM DOESN'T BRING AN END TO THE THOUSAND YEARS REIGN OF MEN IN THE SOCIETY. FEMINISM IS CREATING A FUTURE OF FREEDOM FOR BOTH GENDERS TO GO AHEAD AND FULFILL THEIR GREATEST POTENTIALS.

My Advice to Our Ladies Out There:
Seek to be independent in all ramifications. Financial, emotional, spiritual, physical independence etc.

Choose to be the best you can be with track records, don't choose to be a hoe.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.
Pray according to the spirit sir

That is why they tell you when you are entering lagos..... This is lagos... Nobody is welcoming you... Anything you see take am... Then after you have recovered.... They can show you around.
sonofjos:
Dear lagosians,

Please pardon the grammatic errors.

Being born and bred in the north, I am conditioned to a certain societal behaviour that the first time I went to Lagos, interacting and seeing the people was a bit of a cultural shock to me. I've travelled to many states in the North and few in the south and almost all seemed just about the same as home.

But the first time I visited Lagos a few years ago I had many experiences that made it seem as if was in another country entirely. I'll share a few notable ones.

Please note that I'm not looking for trouble, I'm just giving a honest opinion

It was as if everyone seemd to converse harshly over very simple transactions. One would think they know each other from somewhere.
Many people in the public seemed angry as a default mode. I wondered why.

I boarded a bus to computer village and a primary school kid later joined and was later exchanging very hot words with the conductor who was a very muscular guy over some trivial amount. I watched with interest and it got to a point where I feared for the little guy because If that conductor decided to as much as slap the small boy, there won't be much left. But somehow the conductor calmed down as if he had met a worthy opponent. That boy seemed to me as if he had super powers.

I joined another bus and a fight broke out between the conductor and a passenger. Both of whom were muscular. None would hear sorry. The fight got so bad that the both ended with broken faces and the passenger got a rock and shattered off both side mirrors of the bus. Since I intended to join night bus home, I kukuma dropped and joined okada (it was legal then) which was much more expensive but worth it. I don't know how they ended.

I noticed many young people are muscular body builders. I wonder why.

I was walking on a street at computer village and a guy started threatening and commanding me to come over. At first, I thought he was speaking to someone else when I realised there was no one around me, and he made it clear he was referring to me. Till today, I don't know what confidence made me to keep walking. That was how I escaped O.

Everyone seems to be in hell of a rush.
I even said that if rapture takes place, Lagos would not know anything had happened for two weeks.

But Behind all these seemingly negative atmosphere, I discovered that lagosians are very kind people. Always willing to help.
As a stranger, I found it difficult to find places and routes. But almost anyone you ask is very willing to show you directions. I've had instances where people left their comfort to walk me to places where they gave me directions. Very welcoming set of people to strangers I tell you.

All these mixed experiences made me say that Lagosians are Indeed a very strange people.

Many other things I've experienced at Lagos over my other subsequent visits, but Lagos has remained strange to me.

I mean no disrespect to anyone, I'm just a fellow countryman who wants to better know my country.

My question to you guys is, why is Lagos the way it is?

Is there anything I missed or misunderstood about Lagos?

Thanks

But if per-adventure a lady who is deeply inlove or crushing on you toast you and ask you to give her a chance will you accept?

Someone like you shouldn't be talking about spirituality or prayers. If you don't see a future with her...tell her and stop wasting her time.
MadeBoy:
I'm a guy that likes my privacy reasons of my quality time to think and pray for hours. Because I face a lot of spiritual challenges. And my midnight prayers have been helping me. Most especially when I had a nightmare or anytime I woke up.

I will seal up my windows and doors while my AC is blasting high. And even when I raise up my voice it doesn't come out.

The government just extended the lockdown which is tiring. She came to my house and doesn't want to leave. I have so many debts on my head now and my yearly house rent is expiring soon. This is the period I need to be alone in prayers. The little I have now I am using it to take care of her which I would have uses for myself to prolong the suffering during this lockdown. Branch and carbon are sending me SMS to pay my loans.

My apartment is so cussing, chilling and so comfortable more than her house by far. Maybe reason she doesn't want to go. She will be disturbing me and dragging remot control with me. When I am watching TV she will just change it to nollywood drama.

I do want her to be coming and going. Not just to come and stay like she is doing now. I'm not use to this type of life unlike some of my friends.

Outside of all this, I do not see future with her just normal control things..

I have not been able to leave the house or do other personal private stuff.

I need her to go maybe coming on some weekends or when invited.
