The CBN gave tens of billions of dollars to dangote at cheap official rate with the expectation that it would save the country foreign exchange in return. If dangote wanted to import crude at global prices to for his refinery, he should have built the refinery with funds from oversees investors and not with cheap CBN dollars.

I see dangote as a person who had always feasted on the loopholes in the Nigerian society.
He had probably want to be taking oil free or boycotting normal payment to Nigeria for his own personal wealth and business.
But behold he met president Tinubu a shrewd auditor who understands all the processes.
Today Tinubu announced that selling of oil is now with the CBN and NNPC is just to product and now Dangote is saying he is going elsewhere for his oil.
What this tells me is that dangote feels he should be worshipped and want to hold Nigeria by the jugular by blackmailing or boycotting Nigeria oil.
All this administration should do is ensure the portharcourt refinery and others including the one by BUA comes on board quickly. This will remove monopoly which dangote crave for. In the end he will come and beg

To be clear in my opinion I will prefer a decentralized system of government where states are made autonomous and control its security (State Police) and revenues from state natural resources (100%) with no Federal influence but will remit an agreed amount as tax to Federal not how it is been done now that Federal takes all and shares it. If this is not feasible, I am also open to going back to people backed regional government system that will reflect equity. The truth is that current centralized system of democratic government we are running can not and will not benefit us as I said earlier many Nigerians are easily manipulated and weakened by the ruling class due to tribal and religious sentiments…. According to him, as terror attacks, banditry, kidnappings and violence continue to rage through the country, it is more concerning now with the surge of violence spreading through the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

“It is unfortunate that President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2015, campaigned and won the elections on three items; Security, Economy and Corruption (SEC),” Obi said.

He said that after his eight years in office, the situation has worsened in all three areas and that the present administration, on assuming office, also promised to deal decisively with the same situation -Security, Economy and Corruption, but that today, however, the situation is getting even worse than ever.



“At the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association held in Lagos in August 2022, the then Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen Kashim Shettima categorically stated that if APC is elected, he as Vice President would be in charge of security, while the President as an expert in economy would handle the economy.

“Nigerians therefore now implore them to fulfil their campaign promises. Even if they do not achieve 100% results, we want to see 100% effort,” Obi said.

The former Anambra State governor said that it is now time to stop all forms of foreign trips from people in government, until the nation deal with the ugly situation facing citizens at home.

“No foreign investor or partner will like to invest in Nigeria, with the situation we now find ourselves in. We must make sincere efforts to end the spread of violence and insecurity in our nation, in order to make any meaningful progress,” Obi said.
