The NSCDC has some of the best uniforms and dresses among the services, I even think they should be upgraded into a fourth arm of the forces maybe like Marines or something. iwaeda: https://punchng.com/tinubu-should-rethink-his-frequent-trips/ How can someone be literary educated yet so ignorant. Restructuring of state my foot! This editorial is all crap, devoid of the sound economic fundamental. Why? Because 1- The treasury is empty nothing can be done, even the lame example that yobe state govt convoy was attacked the other day he travelled is appalling. Will Tinubu man the state security? Where is the money for equipping security going to come from? How can he create job or even pay salary when the treasuryis empty? Even as an individual, if you have ever been without money and have good intentions, you are handicapped. Why is the foreign trip important 1- He get 1st hand information of investors fears. If they are bottle necks he tackles it 2- He market the nation in good light. 3- He strategically lure investors in key area that the nation need development. Finally which is the most important, is that Nigerians are suffering big time, they have no patience for anything that will keep them there any longer. Now, to the Punch Share with us what he will be doing and how to achieve it by not going out to look for investment. Talk is cheap |

Crime › Re: Navy Destroys 15,775 Litres Of Stolen Crude Oil In Ondo by pharmagba: 7:53am On Nov 20, 2023 |
Botragelad: How can the navy destroy 15,775 litres of crude oil without causing a massive environmental disaster? That's a lot of oil to just dump into the sea or burn off. Surely, they would have to find a way to safely dispose of it or return it to the rightful owners.
How can they estimate the value of the products to be N13,251,000? That's a very precise number for something that depends on the market price and the quality of the oil. How did they measure the quantity and the grade of the oil? Did they have a lab on board or did they just guess?
According to them, the wooden boat was intercepted about 12 nautical miles off the coast when they also say that the base will intensify surveillance within the axis? That's a huge distance to cover with a wooden boat. How did they track and intercept it? Did they have a radar or a satellite or did they just spot it with their eyes?
They claim the base is committed to stamp out the menace of COT and other crimes when they also say that they received intel on illegal bunkering within the axis? That means they already knew that there was a problem and they didn't do anything about it until now. How effective is their surveillance and intelligence?
This statement is a load of rubbish that doesn't add up. It sounds like the navy is trying to cover up their incompetence or corruption by making up a story that doesn't match the facts. Good and intelligent questions. The Nigeria Navy have always been complicit in oil bunkering from all that have come out to speak. |

Politics › Re: Igbos Hate Tinubu by pharmagba: 4:31pm On Nov 19, 2023 |
onumadu: @Op, Igbo people don't hate Tinubu (or any Yoruba politician for that matter). They hate Tinubu's antecedents : what he has done, his qualifications, his opaque past, his non-descript source of income, his APC evil machinations all over Nigeria that led to deaths of thousands of Nigerians, etc In fact anytime a normal and sane (and unselfish ) Igbo looks at Tinubu, they remember that they have Tinubu's type in Igboland, and they have almost all been caged (sidelined) politically. Example Orji Kalu. Why should the same kind of people that Igbo caged in Igboland go now and start pretending to be competent about fixing Nigeria at the center? From 1999 till date, every candidate that Igbo people rejected in presidential elections ended up proving them right when that candidate eventually won. Example Buhari. Buhari was a colossal disaster; history has vindicated the Igbo. The Igbo see Tinubu clearly for what he is. A worse disaster loading for Nigeria. The Igbo can see this while sitting down on ground, while others are struggling to see it even while standing on tip of skyscrapers. As for Yul Edochie, he is hustling for his belly. And he is not alone. Anybody using Yul's antics to surmise that Igbo elite and intellectuals support Tinubu is delusional. All above story borne out of hated. |

Next came the report that Dangote and other local Refineries were yet to start production because they can't get crude supply. Who is deceiving who?? If Dangote refinery needed crude supply why isn't the govt diverting the ones being produced to these refineries since they can't sell the ones they already have except it's all cock and bull story as usual
And now we are seeing a report that local crude producers are asking for dollar payment. From who?? Are they producing and selling to the govt? If they are then shouldn't they be paid in dollars seeing that they are exporting We are all just deceiving ourselves in this country I believe this is the sole reason NNPC has not supplied Dangote refinery crude oil. Dangote wants to blackmail NNPC This is unacceptable and unpatriotic if Dangote refinery |

mrvitalis: You spend over $3 billion dollars for rail ways and you are expecting $170 million dollars in 10 years ..... Am sure it cost more than $50 million to run these trains yearly
My issue is we Borrowed money to build this rubbish trains that has little or no economic benefits... How can you borrow money to build something that would make u spend more money
Socialism is anti development
If $3 billion dollars were given to pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria since 2015 as a loan at 5%
1) we would have that money back again plus 5% interest 2) we would be a net exporter of drugs earning dollars 3) companies revenues would grow increasing government revenue 4) thousand would be employed increasing payee tax 5) GDP would have grown by at least 8 billion dollars
If we give that to garment factory If we used that money to revive aluminum company in ikot ekpene If we used that money to help glass importers set u floating glass factory If we used that money to help Leather works industry If we used that money to make improved agriculture seedlings available
Each of this would yeild more
Just like the useless awolowo cocoa house that can never break even in this life or the next... Nigerian APC leaders like feel good projects... To them economic viability is not important Just build it let people praise us I disagree in all entirety. In as much as the pharmaceutical industry seems viable, I believe the rail is more viable. Nigeria just have to look at the business side of things. The minister can invite major transporters like Ekeson, Chisco, Bonny way , ABC transport etc into the railway to privatize it. These experienced transporters should be allowed to own their trains and manage it. The Ministry should only set standard and regulation and provide infrastructure for rail transport. This private transporters should pay the government a contractual fee. With this the government can recoup its investment in projected time |

Few Nigerians get forex via the banks. The only way to get dollars is from BDC or so called black market.
Government of propaganda. The parrallel/black market is the only way for most Nigerians to get dollar. This is the market that shows the true naira value.
The CBN quote is propaganda. I believe they only use this window to scam foreign investors or unsuspecting victims, from their dollars. Permit me to educate you. Banning black market forex does not mean taking the bereau de change out of business. What it means is digitalizing their operations. Instead of going to the street corner to change, the bereau de change operators will have a digital platform online where you transfer your niara and instant convert to foreign currency of your choice . No more handling physical foreign currency. There will be no need for hoarding |

Omobude244: Profile of newly appointed FERMA Chairman, Kashim Imam
Bola Tinubu announced the appointment of the new governing and management team of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) for a renewable term of four years. The most unusual appointment was that of the Chairman of the FERMA Board, Engr. Imam Ibrahim Kashim Imam, and 25-year-old first-class Mechanical Engineering graduate from Brighton University.
Born on the 27th of December, 1998, Engr. Imam had shown promise from a young age. He had pursued his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Brighton University, where he graduated with first-class honors. His academic prowess continued as he pursued an MSc with honors at the same University. He completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in August 2022.
Prior to his appointment, he served as a special assistant to Dave Umahi, the minister of works.
His Father, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, is a Nigerian Politician. He ran for Borno state governor as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in 2003 and 2007, losing to Ali Modu Sheriff from the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) both times.
FERMA is an agency of the Federal Government which is concerned with road construction, improvement and connectivity between the States of Nigeria. It is to efficiently and effectively monitor and administer road maintenance with the objective of keeping all federal roads in good and safe conditions. The agency is under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Work.
