Odunayaw:Nigerian football has a rich history. Oto gloria the Brazilian 1980 afcon winning coach put some level of Brazilian football into our football and since then our players love to dance with the ball. Nigerian league from the 70's untill now still has its pattern. Also the 90's team was the ultimate expression of our style of play Anybody that wants to coach us must respect all these and not see us as a people without any history he can just impose any footballing idealogy on. A foreign coach wont understand all this. This is why when Rohr drew with car and other African minnows he could not understand why we were so angry. Also, foreign coaches underrate our players. A foriegn coach will not convince chidera Ejuke to take on the defence of france and score a goal and have two assists as Alhassan Yusuf collects the midfield from France. They dont beleive in us. Watch our match against Belgium in the 2008 olympics when we won 4 nill in order to understand our style of play. You see a winning team is a team with a unique style of play that defeats and confounds everybody and not neccesarly the best players The Brazillian team of the sixtys and seventys were like this. The Barcelona team of guardiola and the spanish team with their tiki taka. Liverpool with their gegenpress. Also, we just need to express our style of play which is rooted in our history and culture. Westerhoof understood all these. I read a story of Westerhood in which we wanted to play a star studded ivorian team with one of the best players in Africa at that time. Westerhoof simply brough Moses Kpakor from bcc lions to mark him out of the game and we won. Eguavon or ammunike understands our football and will just flow with things and make us conquer the world. Generally, the problem with us Africans is that we are too Afraid to express ourselves. When the white man first came to Africa, he told us to shut up and destroyed our cultural, artistic and religioius ways of self expressions and this is confusing us. Okay, besides football the entrepremeural system of the Igbo is now been studied in Universities around the world. WE AFRICANS CAN CONQUER THE WORLD IF WE EXpRESS AND BELEIVE IN OURSELVES THE ISSUE WITH WESTERHOOF IS THAT HE COULD UNDERSTAND AND INTERpRETE US |
According to Punch newsPaPPers, Nff wants to aPPoint another foreign coach next week. Nff are fond of doing the right thing the wrong way. We dont need a foreign coach Also, we may sign another Rohr like contract with him and so the contract has to be scrutinized by the sPorts minister before we get into trouble. THE PROBLEM WITH FOREIGN COACHES. They don't understand our native style of Play and how to interPrete it in the light of modern football. A foreing coach will not address our Problem of lack of creative midfielders Such a coach will not use alhassan yusuf, nwakali etc and then invite onuachu and musa to the team. Another Problem is he will be too exPensive for us. If we appoint a foreing coach before the nations cup we are not going anywhere Our problem is that we need a coach who understands our style of football and can interprete it for us so as to get the best results. They should leave Eguavon there and if they need a change, Amunike will be better The tragedy of European coaches is that they try and force an alien style of play on Africans and it does not work. Westerhoof is one of the few foreign coaches that really understood us. Also, a foreign coach in the next 1 week will not understand our football. He will play our players out of position. the problem with Africans in general is that we do not embrace our originality which is unique and with which we can conquer the world. That is exactly what happened with the usa 94 team. We did not care that Stoichkov was in Barcelona and Bulgaria were one of the best teams in the world. We simply expressed ourselves properly WE DONT NEED A FOREIGN COACH FOR NOW!!! |
Oasis001:Alhassan Yusuf and Nwakali have been drafted into the team by Super Eagles new coaches. Incidentally, Aigbogun has allways liked alhassan Yusuf and wanted him in his youth team but he was stopped by his Swedish club. https://scorenigeria.com.ng/super-eagles-new-coaches-draft-alhassan-yusuf-nwakali-for-2021-afcon/ |
The appointment of Dr. Terry Eguaoje is fantastic in the Super Eagles coaching crew is fantastic he has conducted over 700 coaching courses in the last seven years and NFF wants to bring him as consultant coach Dr Eguaoje has conducted several FIFA, UEFA and CAF sanctioned coaching courses in US, Africa and other part of the world. He was born in Nigeria and is a seasoned coach with UEFA A licence coaching. He is the founder of the Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS TO HAppen to our football. He has all that technical knowledge of an European but he is a true Nigerian. He has been doing several coaching clinics in Nigeria. |
daveP:What makes you to think Anayo iwuala is not good enough. Because he does not play in Europe Football does not allways work like that. He might even turn out to be one of our best players and get us vital goals and assists. Football is about opportunities and advertisment. Some players are good but not well advertised. He might be better than some European based players. Westerhoof prefered Amunike when he was in Zamalek to Tijani Babangida. Also, time changes things. He might move to Europe in a few years and do big things. I have watched him play and he seems a very creative players. Football is not straightforward like that. In fact, that was Rohrs mistake. He thinks club form is everything and it does not allways work. The issue of club form does not work for Moses Simon and paul Onuachu. In fact, i think Anthony Nwakaeme can be a better player for Nigeria than Moses Simon and other wingers in better leagues. Football is not as straight forward as this |
darkelf:Now that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. he only needs 7 more goals to beat that mark. What is the reason by the way. I mean he is in form and firing and only injury can stop him |
The scandinavian leagues (sweden, norway et are the best kept secrets of Nigerian football. Going forward, the following players are the next big thing in Nigerian football. Time will prove me right Ishaq Abdulrazaq: The young boy from ifk norkoping is developing into a fine footballer. He can play as a right winger, wing back or as an attacking midfielder. He is a dani alves like player. At only 19 he is doing well for his club and will move to the big leagues very soon Samuel Adegbenro: I used to underrate him but now i dont. He can play as a striker, attacking midfielder or winger. He also plays in ifk Norkoping and he was the highest goal scorer. He will soon move to a big league as early as next summer. He has allways been on the radar of clubs since 217 but i now think he is fullfilling his potentials. Stephen Odey: He is finally fullfilling his potential in randers fc and as time goes on he will crack it in the big leagues if given another chance Tosin Kehinde: He is an attacking midfielder who was once in Manchester United youth team. He is growing in leaps and bounds and will soon join a big club. Rahael Onyedika: The central midfeidler is growing in leaps and bounds and will soon be in the big leagues in little time I think these Scandinavian leagues are good for our players. They seem to appreciate African players and understand their problems. They tend to work on their tactical deficiencies and polish them I think generally, scandinavians appreciate African culture and tend to be friendly towards them. They also appreciate African players and dont just bench, underrate and dismiss them. So i think our players should go and develop in that league. It worked for paul onuachu and frank onyeka and it really develops African players. Those top 5 leagues are not sincere with our players and just use and dump them without trying to develop them |
DANGOTE ABOUT TO BUY ARSENAL!!!!! Dangots attemt to buy arsenal is about to become a reality according to football.london. https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/aliko-dangote-arsenal-takeover-worth-22371428 MY THOUGHTS ON THIS ARE MIXED 1. IT SHOW NIGERIAN FOOTBALL DOES NOT LACK MONEY BUT NFF IS SO CORRUT THAT IT CANNOT ATTRACT SONSORS LIKE DANGOTE TO THE LEAGUE 2. DANGOTE SHOULD TRY AND INVEST IN ENYIBA OR VANDREZZER RATHER THAN SOME FOREING LEAVE 3. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT MEANS NIGERIAN TALENTS LIKE AKINKUNMI AMOO, ABRAHAM AYODELE MARCUS, AUL MUKAIRU ETC CAN NOW EASILY COME TO ARSENAL AS THEIR OWNER IS A NIGERIAN 4. ALSO, THERE WILL BE COOERATION BETWEEN ARSENAL AND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL AND SO ARSENAL CAN OWN A FOOTBALL ACADEMY IN NIGERIA OR EVEN ARTNER WITH NIGERIAN CLUBS AS TIME GOES ON. IN OTHER WORDS, THE MONEY WILL STILL FLOW INDIRECTLY TO NIGERIAN FOOTBALL AS TIME GOES ON |
The greatest mistake rohr can make is to ignore Anthony nwakaeme. He is in imperious form. As per the idea the Turkish league is low I don't buy into it. If he ends up playing well for us it doesn't matter. Also, the Turkish league is low in what sense. It's low but not too low. The guy can even save Rohrs job if he is used. He can get us vital goals and assists. You see players born in Africa do not have a good platform to advertise themselves to European football and so they may not hit the limelight on time but that doesn't take away their quality |
charlesemeka85:physically and athletism is overrated in modern football. passing, dribbling, intelligence and creativity are VERY VERY IMpORTANT in midfield play. if strenght was so important, dickson etuhu will be the best player in the world. Is Jorginho that strong. Modern football is confusint itself A player that cannot pass is a liability in football. Come to think of it, football is about passing and creating space for your players to move When a team cannot string two or three passes together withoiut loosing the ball, they are reduced to defending and running all day. players like nwakali are very very important. This is what guardiola said I dont play for tackles, what is tackles No, nwakali is very relevant for modern football. Again, passing and knowing what to do with the ball are basic to football. I dont agree with you at all |
THE NIGERIAN WONDER KID There is a new Nigerian wonder kid that just signed for sao paolo in Brazil. His name is Azeez Olalekan Balogun and he is a striker. Scorenigeria talks about him. He was discovered in a scouting tournament in Ibadan this year. You see the Brazilian league is very fantastic and is at the level of the Dutch league if not better. for a teenager to be in a historic club like Sao paolo is something to take notice of. It means he may have the technical skills of a Brazilian (think Neymar, Cautinho, kaka, pauleta etc Brazilian players are technically gifted and the boy must be very good to be in the Brazilian league. We must take note for the future |
forgiveness:We also needs a coach that believes in and loves Africans. Rohr does not believe in us. The issue is westerhoof believed in and loved Nigeria and Africa. This is why rohr does not think awoniyi, desserts, okereke, chidera ejuke etc can break down any defense in the world but us instead looking for defenders and drawing with cape verde. Rohr does not understand the Nigerian society and foot culture. He does not see our latent explosivity in the last third of the pitch which is something westerhoof could see within weeks of been in Nigeria |
jihday:He will be a good appointment. What is wrong with his m. We need a coach that knows Nigerian football and culture. In fact he is not a foreign coach. He will do well |
AndSunGorilla:The trick is that they have the best coaches. From Guardiola to the coach of Leeds to Liverpool coach. There are some second division English teams that play tiki taka. So the managerial change is the most important. All the brains in football now converge in the epl and dish out all types of styles from tiki taka to genegen pressing to anything in the mix. English football is no longer 424 with wingers and kick and follow. The new breed coaches have improved it beyond that |
Kog45:You are right. His perfomance against Argentina in the world cup was outstanding. This issue of club is what is confusing people. His club form may not be great but he is better. Besides, it is not as if Ekong is playing for Juventus or so. He is playing for average or poor teams in the big league. Ekong is overrated and needs to be dropped. Is he even better than Semi Ajayi. I doubt it. He is overrated thats all |
TheLoneCitizen:I allways thought that as messi grew older, the no 10 role will fit him. He is somewhat a no 10 by default anyway. Just a false 9 a position of an attacking midfielder masquerading as a striker He will do well in that role but maybe score less and have more assists but by default, he is a creative player that scores goals. He should remain as an attacking midfielder if his speed reduces with age |
lloydtruth:Yira collins sor (a winger is doing well in Banik Ostrava in the czech league. He is seen as a good player in the league Chinonso Emeka is in K.a.a gent with Adewale Oladoye and he is in their youth team and he has played a few matches. Nnamdi Oforboh and Tom dele bashiru are doing well in English or scottish football One of the forwards is doing well in the czech league (tijani i think Kingsley Micheal is in bologna but injured Valentinze Ozornworfor is in Charleroi but struggling for game time but at least his making the match day squad and will improve with time The team is not as bad as we think and good players will come out of it. Youth football is never a waste, its developmental anyway |
humility33:I think some players are been imposed on Rohr. The rohr of 2019 (when we drew to Brazil) is different from the Rohr of now. Musa, Moses Simon, Onuachu, Ighalo and some other players are been imposed on him. I think it started when they wanted to impose home based players on him. It also seems he has lost control of the dressing rooms and his decisions as per tactics and players is becoming irrational by the day. Something has gone wrong and there is an interference from somebody and the players are not disciplined again. Someone is dragging Rohr around and telling him what to do. Rohr has lost it due to some politicking. It started with that 4 4 draw with Serra Leone |
drDoom3:Yeah Nigerian football has that disease. Once we discover a good player, we stop building a good team or even care about other players. it will be pass to Victor Osimhen and Insha allah It was once pass to Kanu and Insha allah I want our talent pool to develop to a point where we have 3 players or more for each position and we can play as a team. Countries like france, spain etc have many good players and so they just dont depend on one player for everything. We need to get to that stage |
witorwitoutyou:Yeah i keep saying our need for Osimhen is because of the foolishness of our coach. He also has david okereke, Anthony Nwakaeme, emmanuel dennis, henry onyekuru as wingers and he beleives that without chuwueze and ejuke we dont have wingers. I dont understand how rohr reasons. Obinna Nwobodo, Alhassan Yusuf, Akinkunmi Amoo etc should be tried in our midfield in order to replace ndidi and iwobi. Rohr will make us believe the team cannot function when iwobi, osimhen, ndidi and chukwueze are missing and that is sheer folishness on his part. Rohr is in this mess because he does not know or understand our players |
Omanambala:Our best bet for now is either Salisu Yusuf or Emmanuel Ammunike. We need a coach that has been part of the system for sometime and understands the players and their mentality and has fresh ideas. We dont have the money for a foreign coach and it will take him time to understand our players. |
ChrisKels:How do you know its a lie. Where did you get your news from |
nelszx:We need to forget about Onuachu and give others a chance. He does not fit into our style of play and we have other options. Cyriel Dessers, Awoniyi, Simmy, Sadiq Umar etc are there. Give those ones a chance. |
TheLoneCitizen:Well, its good football to me. Other teams have to figure out how to cope with his tiki taka style of football. I understand i mean you may have very good players in your team but guardiolas team will not allow you to touch the ball and the opposing team will be reduced to passengers and nonsense. Guardiolas football at its best does not give the opposition the chance to have the ball let alone a sniff at goal. His team does all the playing and there is no competition. Anyway there is no best way of playing football but i love Guardiola possession football. Its the best for me |
fabyom:playing 3 5 2 without good wing backs is like playing 5 3 2 with five defenders. So your wing play is stiffled. This is worse when there is little creativity from central midfield due to the defensive prowess or attitude of your opponents who block everything going through the middle with defensive midfielders. In the process you leave your creative wingers on the bench and your strikers are frustrated as there is no service. This is what happened to Rohr in the last international matches we played. When you have very good wingers, playing a system without wing backs like 4 2 3 1, 4 4 2, etc is the best especially when you dont have good wing backs. The irony is ola aina and zaidu sanusi are better as wing backs. Rohrs problem is his tactical ineptitude |
Joebie:Did the research. He has worked in Nigeria and coached Lobi stars, Enyimba and Kwara United before between 1993 and 2004. He has also coached African teams like Orlando pirates, Kaizer Chiefs etc before. They probably selected him because of his experience in Nigerian and African football. That is if you are right |
charlesemeka85:Yeah that is part of the reason why westerhoof and bonfere Jo succeed. Ducht, Brazilian, Spanish football allow creativity and improvisation which our best players are made for. In fact, Otto Gloria our afcon 1980 winning coach was Brazilian. So it's a long time. Any coach that stiffles our creativity does not get the best out of us. |
mostob:Imama Amakapababo failed with our u23, home based team and wafu teams He ruined 3 Nigerian national teams within a year. Imama Amakapababo is a disaster waiting to happen Salisu Yusuf will be better. |
HOW TO SACK ROHR We can give rohr a new role in the team. We will give him the role of technical adviser, scout and general manager. That is he will just give his own opinion on how the team should play, manage the players and keep them from a mutiny and scout players for us. The coaching, training and tactics will be managed by Salisu Yusuf. Salisu Yusuf will be the real coach while Rohr will have his role. He will still collect his salary but he will not coach the team except to ask for advice. That way Rohr will not really be the coach. He will also ask as the spokesman for the team But Salisu Yusuf will coach the team and select players. They should just give him a new role and appoint a coach for him |
Danielnino00:Victor osimhen is like rashidi yekini and amokachi put together in one person. He has the work rate of amokachi and the agrresivenes and goal sense of Yekini. Watching this match makes me know why European s are crazy over him. The guy is simply good |
codemaniacs:I think they are forcing players on Rohr and he is too gentle There is a conspiracy to remove good young players from the team for some sellfish reason. Rohr was not like this before. He introduced Osimhen and Chukwueze when they were teenagers and brought in other young players. some people have hijacked the team from rohr and he seems to cowardly to stop it. The sellfish interest of some politicians is at work. They could not do that to Westerhoof. Time will tell the truth. some of those players will tell the truth a few years from now. The conspiracy to put mediocres in the team is looking untenable by the day. We keep having good players all over Europe and the world and they cant keep on with their bias. I KNOW BELIEVE THIS IS pOLITICS AND BIAS AT WORK. |
Danielnino00:The team has been hijacked by some powerful people and players are not been selected on merit. I think some players are been forced on Rohr. It is getting obvious that Rohr has lost control of the team and some powerful nff officials are controlling him. The team is been picked on bias and sentiment and thats all. I HAVE STARTED BELIEVING THIS. |
